Small, great menu with both vegan and gluten-free options…and one is BOTH! Been here three times over the last three years. Worth the stop!

Great café for breakfast and brunch. We went there two of the three mornings we were in denali, the first morning we ate at the hotel and regret it! The avocado toast on focaccia bread with pesto is delicious. We also had the sourdough pancakes which were great. The coffee is very high quality too. Highly recommended, especially in an area without many options!

We love the regular drip coffee and the speciality coffee my sister got (I don’t remember what it was called). The owner was so friendly and was just a joy to do business with. If we lived here this would be where we would go for coffee every morning. Keep up the good coffee/work. Highly recommend.

Very friendly and locally owned coffee shop. Solid menu and most things Ive tried were great. Lots of options for sure and lots of flavors. They take walk-up or drive-thru orders and if you got a couple extra minutes I hear their breakfast burritos are great

Ive never really been big on these road-side coffee shacks, but this one really impressed me, both with the coffee and the service. If your strapped for time in the morning might not be the best place as its a small operation inside, but the girls they have working here are just adorable so thats an added bonus.

By far the best coffee I have ever had. Every cup of coffee I have ever had has had to compare to these guys. Doesn’t burn their drip coffee which many places do. And it’s CONSISTENT. Never disappointed.

We came in when there was only one girl running the joint, so it was probably only running at half speed. It took 20 minutes to get the coffee, which is too long for any drive in. That said, everything they had looked good, and the coffee we got was delicious

Coffee here has been good in the past. The baristas are always friendly. But service has gotten slower and the coffee quality less consistent over the last year. Even so, its right down the street from me so I still go here regularly.

The busiest coffee hut in Anchorage for a reason! We come here almost daily. We drive out of our way to get the coffee from Black Bear. Not only is the staff wonderful; remembering what we drink (2 white chocolate mochas .. 1 with whipped cream)and always friendly and accommodating, but the coffee is fantastic. The white chocolate mocha is the best Ive ever had. Im told Its the owners original recipe. Does she know shes sitting on a gold mine??? Yum! I hear its for sale. Potential buyers: if you want the customers this business currently has.....steady with 3-4 cars deep on both sides waiting patiently for this superior coffee....you might want to ask what itll take to get her white chocolate mocha recipe included in the deal! Thanks to all at Black Bear for making my mornings more bearable.

Best coffee in Anchorage but sometimes it comes with a LONG wait. It seems they’re a little understaffed for their busier times.Baristas are friendly and make fantastic coffee.They have a LOT of flavors to choose from to customize your drinks and their punch cards are nice when you get to your tenth (free) drink! Always a great start to the day.Not much in the way or baked goods or food so if you’re looking for something to eat, probably not here. The bagel selection is dismal but bagels are terrible for you anyways so it just encourages me to skip the extra carbs!For an added bonus: this coffee box is located on a Pokémon GO pokéstop

Good coffee, friendly staff, dog treats for your canine. They can be plagued by long lines. They retain their staff for so long that I makes me hopeful that the owner compensates the employees fairly and treats them well.

Best sweet chai in town and the baristas are always awesome! Its our favorite little espresso shack.Edit: This is the closest shack to my home so I hadnt really tried many other ones when I wrote my last review. I have since experimented with several other espresso shacks and have concluded that...Black Bear really is the best one. Nobody makes a mocha like they do (the Irish cream is my favorite!) and the barista is super cheerful. It does close earlier than most other espresso shacks and the lines can get long, but for top quality coffee drinks, theyre well worth the wait. Id give them 6 stars if I could.

Great drinks but half the time I have to wait like 20 mins in line. Which sucks when Im trying to make it to work. The line is always long but I usually give up before I get to the front because the line doesnt move for a while.

The Mocha tasted like a thick powered chocolate drink. When paying $4.50 for a coffee drink you want quality ingredients not hot coco powder and milk.
