Was asked to wear a mask to shop here when there is no mask mandate. When I first walk in, one the employees was not wearing one and then put it on as soon as I walked in. How ridiculous. Not one customer was in there either and they still wouldn’t let me shop. Will never shop here again I spend lots on money on snowboard equipment every year. Just will shop online then. Always like supporting small businesses. Sad to see.

Would never shop here again. After many interactions, this is my overall impression.Pros: Kind staff, knowledgeable on product features.Cons: Staff tends to assume youre the average buyer/doesnt actually listen to your needs/wants, chaotic and unorganized on product availability, limited demos, doesnt call people on a wait list for specific inventory, unorganized in calling people who have put down a deposit on expected inventory when the items arrive.

I had a snowboarding trip planned this morning. Allotted enough time to buy a new set of boots assuming they would be open on time. I sat out in front of the store for 15 minutes waiting for someone to show up before I finally gave in a said what I try not to do... I went to the big box store REI. I talk to another business nearby who seem to think them opening late is a pretty ordinary thing. Piece of advice, don’t run your business like a hobby

Great service, and fast delivery!...also just recently went into the shop in person, and was greeted right away, I had a question and they helped me with my board right then and there! Again great shop!!!

Nice little skate shop with a variety of gear and clothing. Picked up a couple of long boards and elbow/knee pads. Spent way less then I expected. The staff was low pressure and friendly. Will probably buy parts from them to upgrade the boards after we get used to them. Glad to see there is still a local option for this kind of thing.

Knowledgeable and helpful. I know almost nothing about skateboards. My son needed new wheels and bearings and I was tasked to get him some. He purchased his board a couple of years ago at Blue and Gold on a trip to Anchorage. I decided to go back to them as they are local and my son told me they treated him well.I got the help I needed to purchase the right equipment and they even pressed in the bearings at no charge. You have a customer for life, or at least as long as my son keeps skating.

Super knowledgeable and helpful. This was recommended over a lot of shops in Anchorage. I went to 2 other shops and I had the best experience here. They don’t make you feel stupid if you’re new. They answered all questions and I would definitely go back. They actually listen and make recommendations based on your individual experience.

Great selection, locally minded and some of the nicest staff and sales team weve ever encountered. Love working with everyone here, thumbs up! Highly recommend for any skate, snow, or clothing items. Swing in here, go shopping, visit some of the other stores nearby, and then grab a bite or coffee at one of the great eateries attached. Blue & Gold is the board shop our state has been missing for years!

It isnt possible to overstate the level of customer service provided at blue and gold. The owner helped me try on, probably 10 pairs of boots so I would end up in the right pair. They are the epitome of a small business who takes care of their customers and I wouldnt take my money anywhere else after my experience here.

Great shop! I recommend getting your board waxed and re-edged here. Dont pop in when youre in a rush because theyre, well, chill to the max, but they rent split boards and do good work! Very kind and helpful folk.
