Got more art supplies than i needed but thats not a bad thing

My visit to Blaines today was terrific. I picked up a painting I had framed. The craftsmanship was excellent. I also purchased some art supplies, including canvases and paint. All are the best quality. If you use cheap materials, it shows in your work. The staff at Blaines are happy and always standing by to answer questions. I have traveled throughout the US and six continents. Blaines is always at the top of the list for art supply stores. We are so fortunate to have this store in Anchorage. Shop local and keep the change.

Overpriced, poor selection, and it’s run by anti-maskers who are flouting the vaccine mandate. Breaking the law isn’t cute, nor is brazenly telling customers they don’t want to hear when people are disappointed in their poor business decisions. No one shops there anymore anyway because everything is cheaper online so congratulations on alienating the few customers you had left.

Blanes art is a nice place to go for all art related purchases. I went there for acrylic glow in the dark paint. They stock the best brands like golden. The selection of instore stock is amazing!

Quick and easy! Good pricing! Excellent service every time I stop in!I came in looking for replacement glass for my picture frames. The gentleman was able to measure the frames and cut the glass for me on the spot!! I have been putting this off for over a month now because I thought it was going to be pricey. It was the complete opposite, it cost just over $20 for four pieces of glass for my picture frames. I believe they were about 8x11.Thank you!!

I had an art supply emergency- I called. Blaines had the glue I needed. It was waiting for me at the counter. Problem solved and 10% off since Im a UAA student. Plus the glue was fresh.

I came to Blaines looking for pencil lead. I had a pencil from a few years ago when I was in college that used lead that was 0.3 mm. I had gone to several stores and they didnt have any. I even went to office supply stores and I was surprised that they did not supply that lead. My search stopped at Blaines where they didnt just have the lead but a variety to choose from. My trip was a great one from beginning to end. The place was interesting and catchy as soon as you came in. I asked about the lead and they walked me right to it and gave me an explanation about the options. And I had a friendly cashier. I enjoyed my trip. Will come again.

If youre an artist you already know about this store. If youre thinking about doing art and have never been, its a fantastic place with all kinds of cool ways to exercise and improve your artistic talent. Im so glad Anchorage has such a great source for art supplies and making our muses so gratifying. Knowledgeable friendly staff. And art classes too!

Ive been coming to Blains since I was a kid with my mom. Im 30 now and have traveled all over the USA and it is literally the only art store I truly love.

High end art supplies. Can come in and browse for a long time. As I have been doing for years.So many interesting things. Any kind of pencils, paints, or papers.This is a more serious art store where everyone several steps above the department stores in town.Huge selection of frames, I havent even gotten to explore yet.

Rock day at Blaines was awesome! They had all the materials there to try, examples I have several different types of glosses and clear coats. I learned so much! 👍👍👍

4$ for a marker - save your money on the “local” markup and just order it from Amazon or dicblic.

I had an excellent experience here. They had supplies readily available that I have trouble finding at other art supply stores, and the staff is friendly, passionate, and knowledgable.

They helped get me set up for bob ross painting! I was prepared to spend a bit on materials but they still tried to find me the best prices and supplies for a beginner. My Bob Ross painting was a flop but I’m not afraid to keep trying because I know that the materials are affordable! And I got a wonderful easel that I’m very happy with!

Its really comfortable and wholesome inside. Theres tons of items to browse no matter what type of art you do. They have a huge selection of copic markers and graphite pencils and pens. I took home a really decent haul. I havent been anywhere like this in over ten years.

It is the best place in town to get high quality art supplies. The staff is knowledgeable and professional.

This is an amazing art supply store! They have just about everything you need, including a visit from a darling black lab rescue dog named Copper!I purchased Holbein Gouache, which is hard to find and usually expensive, at a great price! I normally have to order this from Japan!Nice value paintbrushes, and tons of colored pencils! Super helpful and friendly staff, too!

I guess I look like a shoplifter. The employees tried to make me leave my purse at their front counter. They were helpful after I let them know that they made me angry. Good selection of supplies as long as they believe that you aren’t a thief. The purse that they wanted to take away from me is big enough to hold my wallet, a small notebook, and a lipstick.

My go to store for art supplies in Anchorage. Dave and his staff are great!

This was our first time going to Blaines, and what a great experience! We had a very large custom framing done, and it turned out just beautiful! When we went to pick it up, it was so large that it would not even fit in our car!! They delivered to us in less than an hour!!! WOW, you guys are just AWESOME! THANK YOU!!

Theres no place better than Blaines if you need any art supplies or advice about paintings, frames etc. The staff is very knowledgeable and explains things that are complex is simple ways so you can understand them. The classes are fun and excellent teachers. If you havent experienced it, do so soon!

Although I ALSO sent a personal note to Blaine’s, I wanted to give a public note of appreciation as well.Our son and daughter in law live in Alaska, and we spent Thanksgiving this past November with them. I always “scope” out Christmas gift ideas, and because Mandy is an artist, and taking art classes at UAA, the mention of Blaine’s popped up in discussion! Bingo!! A gift card to help her pay for needed supplies!So! Purchased, and mailed from Ohio at Christmas! But! Never received! With the only proof of purchase being our credit card record, and our discussions with Blaine’s trying to track down the purchase, when Mandy went to buy her supplies, told them who she was, etc, they honored the gift card!I can’t thank Amanda ( and all the staff I talked to) enough for their great customer service above and beyond!! NOW I have GREAT ideas for “Mandy” gifts because they will definitely get my business again!

Jay at the framing counter is exceptional. He is very thoughtful and patient when helping to place orders. I highly recommend their framing services.

The service there was great, a wide variety of art supplies were available there, from sculpting clays to Copic markers, they had everything. I would totally reccomend this store to any dedicated artist such as myself.
