Thieves!! (literally)and unbelievably poor customer service.I recently purchased a dishwasher from them. While installing it, their delivery guys stole my girlfriends phone. We located it at their house through find my iPhone, yet they continuously denied it. Apparently one of them had just been released from jail. Are these the kind of people you want in your house?!This was bad, but the real reason for the one star is that the staff at Allen and Peterson were incredibly unhelpful and RUDE in regard to helping us try and recover the phone. Randy, the salesman was condescending. Alec, the delivery manager, was actually a complete A-hole, telling her to file a police report and sue us. Lisa, the Store Manager said she would replace the phone, but its been over 24 hours and we still havent heard anything from her. I could go into way more detail but its not worth my time.What you simply should know is that they will send thieves into your home, not do anything about it when your stuff is stolen and then treat you like its your fault. This was some of the poorest service Ive ever encountered- which is saying something. I can guarantee I would have had more support and help from a box store, which is pathetic.I highly suggest you do not shop there.

I cant say much about the experience at the store. My wife bought me a thermometer and I wanted to trade it out for a higher end model. I took it into the store with the receipt and they told me I couldnt return it and to try dealing with the manufacturer. I wouldnt buy presents here unless youre sure you wont want to return anything.

I called about a new oven but could not get the type of oven I wanted due to size and the person that answered the phone asked questions on how he could help make what I had to work. He asked if I smell gas and I did, he suggested to call the partner install company and they made it out the next day and sure enough I had a gas leak. I will buy my future appliances through this local company. Great customer service and will not push you into products you don’t want. Thank you!

Found just what I wanted..... searched for DAYS and could not find it ANYWHERE ( small glass nesting bowls).Courteous and prompt assistance. These folks are GREAT!!!!

We loved purchasing our range from Allen & Peterson. The associate we worked with was very knowledgeable and helpful. We explained what we wanted, and were shown different options. After that, my husband and I were left to discuss which range would be best. There wasnt any pressure to purchase something that was over our budget or a model they needed to move out. After our range was ordered, Allen & Peterson kept us updated on the delivery progress. When it came, the installers were total professionals and set our range up perfectly. Before they left, we were asked if we had any questions. Allen & Peterson is an outstanding appliance store.

From the moment we walked in the door, through our refrigerator purchase, delivery, and installation, we felt like we were treated as valued customers with integrity, sincerity and professionalism. Our delivery men had to deal with a very narrow kitchen access, but were able to take off the fridge doors to get it through, then reassemble. They did this incredibly quickly and professionally. Everyone at Allen and Peterson was wonderful and they have earned our loyalty! For years, we assumed that the larger box stores were cheaper, but now realize that the best value in Anchorage is here and regret not moving our business over earlier. Thank you!

Long time customer but honestly this pandemic has changed how I feel about this place. They have great stock but every time Ive been in in the past few months it seems that there is a handful of Staff who just dont wear their masks despite the mandate.If my friends with chronic asthma can wear their masks and me and my coworkers can wear thiers there should be no issue with these folks doing their part for the community. There is no reason why they should be putting their customers and staff at risk like this. For that reason alone it would be enough for a poor review but then when I called in to let management know of this oversight they were incredibly rude and short with me on the issue and couldnt seem to hang up the phone fast enough.From here on out Ill take my business elsewhere. There are other places in town with the same product. Customer loyalty isnt enough for me to keep spending my money here.Edited for a spelling correction.

Allen & Peterson is by far the best place to buy appliances in Anchorage! I had an issue with a dryer being delivered and installed that was not functional. This could have made for a terrible, stressful experience but instead Allen & Peterson handled it professionally and generously. They promptly delivered and installed a new dryer. Rich, the employee that helped me was very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend Allen & Peterson for any appliance purchase and install. Their prices were competitive, if not cheaper than Lowe’s and Home Depot. They were easy to talk to and get a hold of promptly. I give my experience 10/10! Thank you for turning what could have been a stressful situation into a positive one!

The two young men who delivered and installed the new refrigeraor and removed the old refrigerator were very courteous and did a great job. Amazing!!! Bought a coffee maker from them in October of 2019. 6 months later it started having issues that obviously was completely out of their control. Their staff went above and beyond to take care of the issue. Could not be happier with the professionalism and customer service from this company! They take care of their customer from start to finish!

The staff was very knowledgeable. I went to Lowe’s first . Their sales person did not know anything about appliances. Delivery time was two weeks. My co worker steered me to Allen and Petersen. The staff was so knowledgeable and customer oriented. They could deliver the product in a day and a half. The only down side was the cost of the delivery which was more than Lowe’s charged. The prices on the products were competitive. I highly recommend Allen and Petersen. Especially if you pickup the product and rake it home!

Excellent customer service! Even though we could have got the oven for less at the big box stores, the customer service and speed of delivery could not be beat. I took away one star because pickup was a disaster. They called and told me our order was ready to pick up. I ended up waiting almost an hour at the warehouse because it has arrived that day and the warehouse had not processed it yet.

This Bosch dishwasher is incredibly quiet; the dish arrangement took some getting used to, but I particularly like the third drawer for flatware. I have plenty of space for my dishes. The best feature is that I can run a load in 60 minutes and get beautiful results, saving a tremendous amount of energy (my last dishwasher took 2 hours). I am very pleased with it.

Great service. Unit was installed as requested. Was notified night before to confirm time. Tech called to advise of his arrival on the morning of the install. Install was done quickly and efficiently. Tech clean and removed all waste. Tech was very friendly and helpful.

Great service, competitive pricing, and they really know their product lines. The delivery was so easy and the delivery team were on time, polite, and professional. A complete 180 from the people from a big box store that delivered my dryer two days previously (and a week after the scheduled date). The Allen & Petersen crew didnt ask intrusive questions, didnt look around or wander about, they were so great! I would buy from Allen & Petersens again for the delivery service alone....luckily they have awesome products and my fridge was $300 less than the closest big box store price!

I love Allen & Petersons! In addition to their awesome appliance section, they have a fantastic cooking supply area with just about every kitchen tool or gadget under the sun. In February we purchased a dishwasher, refrigerator, and downdraft cooktop for our kitchen remodel. The competitive pricing made us decide not to buy from Costco, Lowes or Home Depot. Additionally the product knowledge and customer service far exceeded anything we would have gotten at the three mentioned stores. Delivery and installation services (for an additional fee) were available.

Randy met us after we took but a few steps into the store. We had already done some research but were given even better info from Randy that helped us zero in on what would work for us. We found the range hood that fit our requirements and were told the floor model was the only one available but Randy said he would make sure it got taken down and put safely in a box. We returned the next day and Randy even carried the box to our truck for us. We will visit Allen & Petersen first for our next appliance purchase.

The staff worked very hard to find solutions to meet my rapidly changing requirements and were able to find me a perfect option with an on sale display model. The delivery guys were awesome and made it super easy for me to move the food from my old fridge into my new fridge.

We purchased a new washer and dryer from Allen & Petersen and our experience in the store was fantastic. The sales staff was knowledgeable about all of the products and answered all of our questions. The gentleman who helped us also provided great comparisons between the units we purchased and similar models. It really helped us to feel more confident in our purchase overall.My only criticism has to do with the delivery and installation portion. The installation crew wasnt able to install the units as I had originally requested due to a lack of supplies or tools on the truck. The more unfortunate aspect was that the crew didnt do the greatest job of installation with the dryer duct and the washer hoses. The dryer duct wasnt properly attached to the vent at the back of the dryer and almost immediately fell off upon first use. The hose for draining the washer was placed in such a way that allowed water to collect in a loop. Fortunately, I was able to properly re-seat the drainage hose and securely attach the dryer duct without too much trouble. If you choose to have your products delivered, make sure everything looks good and is firmly attached before the crew leaves- especially if youre unable to easily access important areas like the dryer duct.Aside from that, were happy with our new appliances and plan on purchasing from Allen & Petersen in the future.

We did purchase an induction cooktop and will be in touch with him to order the rest of the kitchen. He kept a physical distance and wore a mask.

We are very happy with the service we received from Allen and Petersen from the first moment we walked in to browse to the last with delivery and a quick fix on the dishwasher. I always thought they were more expensive than other places, but I learned they peruse daily the sales prices of all appliance dealers in Alaska and offer the lowest price for that specific day. Our delivery team was on time, cheerful, knowledgeable, and careful not to damage any of the 4 appliances they delivered. Eric, our sales representative, was on the ball each time I called with a question. He quickly lined up the repair of the dishwasher which was just a crimped water line. All works well and we are satisfied customers.

We had a fantastic sales lady that was able to answer all our questions on all the appliances prior to our purchase. If she didnt know the answer she quickly found it. Not a 5 because when notified that it was available for pickup they failed to mention that it was at a different location. It was a holiday and we did not have time to get to the warehouse. We ended up having a friend pick it up for us as we were leaving the state for three weeks.

We were disappointed in the lack of communication. We never got a call or email letting us know of the delays (2 months instead of 3 weeks) in getting our range. We were ok with the delays, just not the the lack of customer service. We always had to initiate communication. Needless to say, we are buying our other appliances elsewhere.

Ive visited the store on several occasions but this was the first time the visit was business related. The customer service I received was as positive and helpful as always.

Its a good thing I actually like my range unit, because the customer service at this place is absolutely atrocious. I would not recommend them to anyone for that reason alone, regardless of their price matching guarantee. I purchased a range in November. When it was delivered there was a dent/scratch in the top which I informed them of immediately. They ordered a replacement. When the guy came to install the replacement it was discovered that they had ordered the wrong one. I was told another would be put on order. After months of not hearing from anyone, I called and had to play phone tag with people who kept promising to call me back and didnt. No one knew what was going on, excuses, excuses, etc. It took my husband calling and not being very nice to get them off their butts to actually do something. That was two weeks ago. We are still hearing excuses and I still dont have my glass top. We are going on 5 months now, which is absolutely ridiculous.My opinion..if low price is super important to you then buy here. But if you want good customer service in the event that you have an issue (AND even when you pay for the extra warranty) or any reason that you need customer service for that matter, your business would be best served elsewhere. They clearly do not care about their customers, recommendations, or return business.

I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped me, but at the time I asked her to connect me with her supervisor so I could report how thrilled I was with her service! I was calling in from Nome during everyones 4th of July sales, as I needed a new fridge and stove for a small rental. I had literally spent a night and day trying to reach someone at Home Depot and Lowes in Anchorage, but could not succeed in getting anyone on the phone. I had assumed I could not afford Allen & Petersen, but I was getting desperate! I found their sale prices equivalent to what I had seen online at Home Depot and Lowes. The best part was that I got the most incredibly helpful person on the phone in only two rings, who went out of her way to understand my needs and help me select matching components that were what I needed and in my price range. She told me what day they would be delivered to Alaska Airlines, and then notified me that day that the delivery had been completed. The units have arrived and been installed, and I couldnt be happier with a company Id always noticed but never dealt with. These were not high-end units at all, and yet I got top-of-the-line service!

We had a built in microwave that stopped working. I searched all over town but couldnt find it in stock and was told by all the big box stores it would take 8+ weeks to get ordered. I called Allen & Petersen and spoke with Jill who was wonderful! She knew exactly the model I would need to replace the old one that would fit our cabinet and figured out the trim kit required to finish it off. She offered to take my payment over the phone to save me a trip to the store and called the warehouse so they had the microwave and trim kit all set for me to pick up within an hour - no waiting 2 months! She made it so easy and the microwave was a perfect fit and looks gorgeous and a perfect match for the stainless appliances we have in the kitchen. The cost was right in range with the big box stores (but without the wait and hassle of trying to work with people who didnt understand what I needed!). Thank you, Jill, for making this such a quick and easy transaction!! I will definitely go to Allen and Petersen first in the future for any appliance needs.

Eric was so knowledgeable and helpful compared to the 2 big box stores and I wanted to buy local, it was an easy decision. I needed to replace an old dishwasher and I didnt want to spend a lot of money, but after getting plenty of information from Eric I decided on the more expensive Bosch. I also installed it myself and I am a 66 year old woman. Great experience. Delivery was on time, put the dishwasher where needed and I am happy.

I bought a new reg from this place. Last bought one about 23 years ago, and service was great but not anymore. I paid over >$1300 and the installers were the worst. They did not know how to disconnect the water line, and shut off my entire water line and left the line lying on my floor. Scratched my wood floors and damaged them. They told me they do water lines.I came form the hospital because I am doc, and had crawl under neath my basement and replace the the line myself. I went first to True Value, and they helped greatly and told me this was basic 101 installment to just put a valve over my water line. Parts was $2.99 and it worked. Water was turned.My reg rolls and I have to use door stops to keep from moving. They did not fix this.The worst SERVICE. I usually go to Lowes or Home Depot which is the BEST. They call me always after installment and ask how it was and any damage, etc.Not at Allen and Peterson. They also charged from the parts and full installment service which I not receive.

When our old refrigerator proved to be beyond repair, we came to Allen and Petersen only after checking out the big box stores. Though Allen and Petersen display many unique high-end appliances, they also had a good selection of basic models from which we selected a perfect fit for our older home. The best part was that our purchase was delivered only two days later (on Saturday!), instead of the 3-5 weeks quoted at other places. The delivery crew were efficient, patient, and extremely polite. Our dealings with Allen and Petersen were entirely positive.

She gave us time to be by ourselves to talk about the different features we saw, answered numerous questions, and informed us about the care we would always receive from their staff. We were sold. We received top professional service and quality products. You cant bet that!

I bought this as a surprise for my significant other. We both really enjoyed the step by step process with the easy and enjoyable instruction. Plus we got to enjoy a meal! It was wonderful to take home recipes to enjoy later and learn together.

The staff at the store was very friendly and helpful. I purchased a vegetable slicer, grater, spiral maker. The item is made out of plastic and does not feel super solid or stable, but the blades are good quality and cut the vegetables well. I feel the price of the item ($49.95) for the quality was a bit steep.The store is very clean, well organized and the selection is incredible. Other than the price of the item I purchased, I am very pleased with the store.

The instructor was knowledgeable and made fantastic food. I will sign up for another class. Areas of improvement could be the snacks served for munching while the food was being prepared were pretty pathetic. The usual carrot sticks, dip and I think some pretzels and the seating was very crowded, just a couple of tables crammed together, one under a TV set so you had to crouch in and out. Otherwise I got a few good tips and ejnoyed the experience.

We stopped in at Allen and Petersen to look at washers and dryers. Randy helped us and was very knowledgeable. He asked us quite a few questions to narrow down what machines would be best for us. He knew all the features of the machines and their consumer report ratings. He got online and priced out the units at the competing stores locations as well. We got free delivery since the competition was offering it and exception service while we were there. Plus they are locally owned. :) We will definitely use Allen and Petersen again in the future.

I purchased a Beko Convection Microwave. The product is great and the service outstanding. Id originally purchased a Bosch unit that appeared in stock, however, the unit was incorrectly categorized and in for repairs, not available. Normally, Id knock a star or two off for something like this, but the customer service was above and beyond in tracking down the issue and providing a refund for the alternative, comparable unit. This kind of personalized service is simply not available at the big box stores. Additionally, if youre looking for higher end or alternative appliances to big box stores this store should be on the list.

We love Allen and Petersen and chose to work with them on all of our appliance needs. Their rates are more than competitive and the staff more informed and friendly than any box store or similar, selling identical products. After researching refrigerators in Consumer Reports, we found exactly what we were looking for at A&P.There were a couple glitches during deliver... we learned that our old copper water line is no longer allowable (according to code) to be the conduit for the ice machine in the fridge. It would have been helpful if this could have been acknowledge as a possibility at the store, granted the staff at A&P had no idea how old our house is. Also, a very small part to attach the door handle was dropped and unrecoverable by the delivery guys. I contacted A&P for the replacement and I was told its been ordered. Three weeks later I still have not heard an update and we only have one handle on our two door fridge. I would have appreciated if the delivery guys, who dropped the part, would have been the ones to rectify and communicate with the staff at A&P, and not have asked me to follow up. This is a very minor incident that could have happened if we had purchased our fridge from any other place in town.Allen and Petersen is an asset to Anchorage and Alaska. I am grateful they are here and they will continue to have our business.

Always friendly and very knowledgeable staff. They never try and force a product onto you, they give you the facts and let you decide. Would recommend for sure! Prices are more reasonable than I had expected and the sale prices are lower than anywhere else I had looked.

The Green Egg Fest was a great opportunity to see all the ways in which you can use a smoker to make food delicious. I appreciated seeing the firefighters there and the fact that the entry fee was partially donated to MDA and Fill the Boot was a positive way to involve the community. For future years, Id love to see some tables or chairs added so that tasters could sit and take a break between tastings or actually enjoy the dishes that were easier to eat with a fork. Please host this event again.

I took the cake decorating class, and I absolutely LOVED it! The Chef (instructor) is amazing and she is the main reason why I am excited to find another class that interests me to take with her. Very laid back, hands on, and fun!

I am so disappointed in the service. I ordered these in January and it took till July or August to finally get the job done. There were flaws in the oven and Microwave and it took there deliveries to get them installed without problems. I had three ovens and two microwaves before it was finally ok then I still havent received my rebate Im supposed to get. It is now Oct. 10 months after this deal was started and I am still fighting to get my rebate even after all the hassles Iv been put through. Really I had thought your company was higher end than this. So angry and disappointed. Would not want anyone else to have this experience!!! Yes most of this was the manufacturers fault and the lack of communication between the three departments, sales, deliveries and installers. The salesman would respond when I reached out and was always polite. I did have to reach out to see what was happening lots of times then he would look into it. Maybe this very expensive brand Bosh, is where I made a mistake but finally all the appliances are working but have been told even after all this time it will be another 6-8 weeks (next year?) before I get my rebate. So much for rushing it through!! Allen and Peterson company did what they could. Sorry for making it all sound like it was the store only.

I was extremely pleased with the knowledge of the staff. I had performed online searches for info comparing what would be the best quality perchase for the money long term. When we looked at in store assistance with the purchase and the long term commitment of help from the store in case anything were to go wrong... Allen and Petersens was where we were comfortable spending. I recommend them for anyone wishing for quality and competitive pricing.

Great appliances! Perform better than expected. They complete a chefs kitchen. Beautiful designs. Sales and staff top notch. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Service dept. not so. Freezer and ice maker not functioning properly. Call to A&P service? No communication in 48 hours. To bad so sad. Would not shop for major appliances anywhere else. But gotta get service elsewhere. Thank you A&P. Your sales staff rocks! Service process stinks!

I purchased a dishwasher and customer service was terrific. I didn’t notice until after their installation the front panel was dented at corner. Disappointed to have a blemished front in my new kitchen.

If you were to ask me about any individual department at Alan and Peterson I would give every one 5 stars. Erik, our salesperson for all the appliances in our new home was spectacular. He was passionate and offered really good advice in any price range. The service department is also great. Whether installing or the one service call we had they were friendly, quick and competent. Scheduling is also friendly.If you were to ask me about their communication I would give them a 0. We have had 3 or 4 snafus simply because they did not accurately communicate between departments. One of them cost us a cooktop for several weeks and a couple of other issued I wont go into here. The owner stepped in and made everything good after we finally complained, which I thought was telling of the quality of the people at Alan and Peterson.It is likely that you will never deal with the one big issue we had. The little issues are irritating but now that we have some distance from them I am not sure if we will not continue to live with it and if we ever get new appliances will likely risk it. Again, the people are amazing. The communication absolutely stinks.

First pf all, the Customer Service has been excellent. Whether through knowledgeable people handing a special order over the phone, shopping for very specific items, or coming into the store for a specific, obscure part that had been on special order through one of the big box stores for 3 months...and having the Customer Service person tell me that they have that part in stock and I can pick it up immediately at their warehouse....the expertise and knowledge has been excellent. I frequently recommend that family and friends check with Allen & Peterson first, when needing appliances and kitchen ware in addition to parts. Inspiration abounds when one visits the store, as well. High quality at reasonable prices.

While shopping for a new HE washer and dryer, and being frustrated with the lack of knowledge/information while shopping at our local box stores, we decided to go to A&P. The shopping experience there was great. Randy was very helpful and able to answer our questions in addition to giving us more information about the particular appliances we were interested in. He took the purchasing experience from frustrating to pleasant. I highly recommend A&P.

We shopped around Anchorage for several months for new appliances for our kitchen remodel. We had reviewed Consumer Reports to help us compare prices, ratings, and features for each of our appliances. We met Randy at Allen & Petersen, and he was up-to-date with the ratings from Consumer Reports and other reviewing agencies, which steamlined our comparison of the different brands and models. He helped us assess how we actually use our kitchen so we could choose the right appliances with the features we needed. Randy was so knowledgeable and personable that the evaluation process became a logical -- and comfortable -- progression. By the time we made our final selections, we were confident that we had picked appropriately and with the best price. Randy also compared prices with other stores in Anchorage, and matched or beat the lowest prices. Delivery was absolutely on time and very efficient. I would highly recommend the staff at Allen & Petersen!

Lets start with the price. I purchased a high-end Wolf range, so it was very expensive, however compared to the other dealers in town, Allen & Petersen was the lowest price. My experience was all over the map. Some aspects of the shopping experience were great, and other parts were a huge disappointment. Some employees were so great trying to help me solve the many issues I was having, and others, seems to not really care. A bad employee can really make you not want to come back, but I wont hold that against Allen & Petersen as a company. Its a good place to shop, offering a wide selection of appliances and kitchen supplies. So even though my experience was less than wonderful...Ill be back.

Very very happy with my experience at Allen and Peterson....not sure if I remember his name right but I believe Rich Gonzales was my salesman’s name. He was excellent and presented with all options in order for me to make my choice.I’ve also started cooking classes and I am excited about taking more.

Randy does a great job at A&P. For a small, locally owned business they are willing to review and price match the big box stores, but do so with superior customer service, a wide range of appliance manufacturers/options and a great delivery team. We are re-doing our entire kitchen and Randy and the A&P team gave us an excellent product offering and value.

Erik H. is the best salesperson. He has helped us choose the appropriate appliance and provided excellent follow through. He is alert to our questions and returns our phone calls promptly. I would highly recommend A & P.

Exceptional customer service. Each experience that I have at Allen & Petersen has reinforced their dedication to taking care of their customers. I came in for a range hood and worked with different staff each time and the service was seamless. When we picked up the hood at the warehouse, there was a small snafu and the warehouse staff was quick and dedicated to finding a resolution.

The ordering process thru the installation process was very customer service focused.

Ive been going to Allen & Petersen for many years. I have found their customer service excellent. They have an excellent sales staff who knows just how to interact with the customer. One time I found a gift card in the snow in the parking lot outside. I turned it into them and shortly thereafter they sent me a $20 gift card in the mail. As a business owner myself I respect the culture that they promote within our community and will continue to make them my preferred place to go for all of our cooking and culinary needs. This was the first time we had gone to Allen & Peterson to look for appliances. After researching on line the different prices the comparisons made my decision. We were totally surprised at the vast product lines. Our sales rep was so knowledgeable and cooperative. It was very refreshing. We went with the intention to buy a gas range and wound up with 3 appliances instead. Couldnt be more pleased. Thank you.

Was from out of town so I called ahead and the salesman emailed me a list of the dishwashers they had in stock that had the features I wanted along with there cost. We narrowed it down to two choices and when we arrived we were told that a new model arrived that day that had all the features we wanted for about $300 less. The had it pulled at the warehouse and we were in and back on the road in under 30min. Great customer service which is hard to find these days of internet ordering. Will continue to support this store as long as the excellent support and service continues as that is truly the best feature of our new dishwasher. :-)

We were promptly greeted by Randy when we walked into the store. He pointed out the kids play area for our toddler and then led us to the dishwasher section. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. Once I selected the model we wanted it was a quick check-out process and I did not feel pressured to buy something that I didnt need or want. He was also able to schedule us for next day delivery - on a Saturday. Skylar came to install the dishwasher the next day and he was very friendly and efficient. Overall, I was very impressed with the whole process and the employees that we interacted with during our transaction. Allen & Petersen will be my go to place for all future kitchen appliance purchases. Thank you!

Fridge shipping took way longer than told. Delivery guys needed help carrying it in the house. Installer was late and did not have the proper tools for the job. Everyone was nice but seemed untrained. I still gave the installer and the delivery guys $100.00 tip. So I have no hard feelings. Just believe the staff is not trained or equipped properly. If you spend over $12k on a fridge, you would think you would get great service.

Allen & Petersen always takes great care of us! As soon as we called to let them know our dryer failed, they knew exactly what we needed to replace it. They also made sure we were able to get it in a timely manner. We love the people at Allen & Petersen!

Had a good experience buying some appliances from here. They do appear to price match locally with the big guys, the selection on things was really high - tons of microwaves for example. You end up getting help a lot faster and more cordially than from Lowes for example. The price on delivery & install seemed reasonable as well.

We received outstanding and knowledgeable support from Jill Anderson and wth her dedicated help we were able to narrow our search and find the right oven for our needs. We were very impressed with her diligent and sustained effort on our behalf.Unfortunately for us, Allen and Peterson is not very user friendly when it comes to taking care of the needs for their customers who live outside of Anchorage. Even though there was a floor model of the oven we chose and purchased available in store, and it would have been much more convenient for us to take this heavy and awkward box home with us in our car, the manager would not release that oven. Instead a new oven had to be ordered with a three week delay. The shear weight, and fragility of this oven made shipping by common carrier seem to be a poor choice and a reasonable shipping option wasnt really offered by Allen and Peterson, so we are resigned to driving back to Anchorage to pick up our oven - a 700 mile round trip from Fairbanks, when it arrives right before Christmas.

Signed up for a knife class with grandson - very nice m aking an exception as he was young.Then the class was cancelled. Bummer. But understand policy and they were nice in telling me

We have been using Allen and Petersen for almost two decades, and they have never let us down. We purchase appliances regularly for new construction, rental properties, and our own home. Allen and Petersen pricing usually meets or beats every store in town and their customer service is second to none. They will go to bat for you if there are problems with a product. They are also just nice folks to work with.

Our last experience with Allen & Petersen was terrible. We bought a replacement Bosch (aka expensive) pop up vent thru them (they sold us the original some time ago which failed and is no longer available). It turned out to be the absolutely wrong part though we werent to learn this until later. When it finally arrived we scheduled the install. The installer arrived and was a total dick from the moment he got there. He didnt introduce himself, complained about everything, threw his coat on the floor in the middle of the kitchen, drug the box with the new unit in and laid it on the floor half in the kitchen, half in the dining room. He then proceeded to rip out the old unit without examining the new one, measuring anything or forming any type of plan. After ripping out the old unit, he tries to install the new unit and discovers it wont fit! He proceeds to try to butcher our granite counter tops with the incorrect tools to make the openings fit the new unit. Seeing the situation, I loaned him the tools necessary to make the cut. Turned out this was just the beginning and two more, very major, cuts were required. He did not take any precautions to mitigate the huge amounts of dust created by cutting granite - our whole house was covered in it!! While this is all going on, he bitched endlessly about everything (including informing me that he was getting paid $60 for the job I paid $350 for). He finally gets the new unit physically installed (to be honest, he did a fairly neat and tidy job) when he discovers the new unit isnt electrically compatible with the existing blower motor. He manages to get it hooked up so one out of the three speeds work and starts closing up the job and discovers the existing drawers wont fit with the new install! He figures hes going to just butcher the existing drawer slides to make them fit, but at this point, Im pretty clued into the lack of planning so I take some measurements myself and realize that the drawer itself is too deep and will not fit without modification. I try to explain this to the installer but hes had enough and cant (or wont) understand what Im saying so I try showing him by sliding the drawer in. He blows up, tells me hes tired of working for free and doesnt have time to experiment....and leaves!!!! The place is a mess, granite dust everywhere, the install not complete and the garbage empty boxes in the middle of my garage. To be honest, I pretty much had enough, too, and was glad he was gone. (I bought new, shorter drawer slides at my expense, and cut the drawers down myself and reinstalled them). I then called my sales guy, Randy, who I finally reached after multiple tries, related this story to him. He promised to make it right....and Ive never heard from him since. This was about a month ago.

Eric always takes care of my appliance needs from gathering information on brands to follow through after the purchase. Good old fashioned customer service is what I really appreciate when I shop at Allen & Petersen. Thats one of the many reasons why I take my business to Allen & Petersens over big box stores.

Pretty easy shopping during the pandemic

Great appliances. We have purchased a lot over the years here in Wasilla. Probably go to Anchorage in the future. Follow up for phone calls and eMail is almost non existence when attempting to get a quote and availability.

I appreciated the choices offered to either bring my dishwasher in to save money, or to set an appointment for a house call. I chose the house call and received a call the day before with a two-hour window, and received a call from the technician when he was heading to my house, AND it was in that window! He found and fixed my problem, and the whole experience from my original call through to his repair was very professional and well done. I would highly recommend this service team!
