This company is absolutely HORRIBLE!! They don’t even deserve any stars, but that is not an option. Rude people that hang up on you, stating that don’t have a manager to deal with, horrible scheduling saying they “squeeze” you in to please you, no communication, defective quarts countertops and scratches and the list goes on and on. We went through Costco, which is surprising that they would deal with such an incompetent company. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT OF A PRODUCT, PEOPLE AND COMPANY!!
Make sure not to use this company when you go through Home Depot. Received a quote in January. Had them come out in march to make a template and finally in may the granite was installed. They ended up breaking my floor tile that I just put in. when I asked them about fixing it they said they would compensate me for the price of the tile. When I asked about the price of my time and the inconvenience of not having my kitchen complete, the lady on the phone laughed. (I am sorry put damaging my property isnt funny, lady)Still have yet to have them remedy this situation. All I want is my kitchen back in order and not to be stepping on broken tile. You would expect professionals to make an effort to fix the property damage or compensate the client for the negligence of their employees, but yet here we are. SO just a heads up, use a different service that you trust instead of whats recommended by the Depot.
I had read the reviews after signing with Home Depot & Block Top Jan 28, 2018 Sunday, so I was really watching for problems and error, which I found none. I called on Jan 29 Monday afternoon the woman said she seen my paperwork and they would have been calling me, she asked by was there any days I would not be available and that she would call me back with definite dates, she did 30 mins later, Feb 5 (my window of time 7:30-9:30am) arrive at 9:30am was my first appointment to get precise measurements I didnt think this would take so long but once you see what they do you would understand that took about an hour (picturs with the sticks are the measurements), my last appointment was today Feb 14, they always call the day before to set up your time of your appointment. My window of time was between 12-2pm, they arrive at 12:30pm, I was already advise it would be about 5 hours, it only took 4 hours, the workers were very nice Not one problem.
They drilled 1 hole instead of 3 for one of the vanities which when I called they said they’d come out and do for $260... second vanity drilled hole too close to back splash so when operating the the faucet the knob clears the back splash by about 1/64 of an inch not room enough to get your fingers behind. Kitchen sink s not centered between the two windows and hole for sink faucet not properly centered. These were the sub- contractors through Home Depot. Ensure when asking for install, you request a different company!!
We got an UltraCompact Dekton surface through Home Depot, who then subcontracted the work out to Block Tops. In the beginning the level of communication was a bit frustrating and getting the details ironed out did take some time, especially due to the difficulty of working with Dekton. However, once we got the initial details ironed out, they were very responsive and showed up on schedule to install the counters. Most importantly, their guys knew what they were doing when they showed up, making sure everything was 100% perfect and that all our concerns were addressed. We were very picky about the bevel, spacing for the sink and every single seam. They were patient with our demands, maintained a clean workspace and left our counters perfectly installed. If you have the patience and know what you want, Block Tops is a great option.Pros:*Final product was great*They delivered exactly what they said they wouldCons:*Communication in the beginning (had to call a bunch but it improved a ton as the job went on)
Waste of time. Was referred to them by Costco. I sent them my design and specs. The guy says that hell get me pricing the next day The next day comes and get some excuse, but the next day for sure. Repeat repeat repeat. If this is the experience when youre trying to give them business, I can only imagine what it is like when they have your business.
Used Blocktops to get a custom counter made for a customers project. This is a big facility with the ability to do granite, quartz or Corian (Who knows what else??). I worked with Theresa the production manager. They did a beautiful job.Note how we found them is by calling directly to Corian and they were recommended. I recommend them to all my friends and clients.
I gave this company one star for it is minimum. This company is the worst ever that I have known from my experience in home improvement. I signed a contract with local Home Depot, and the Home Depot worked very hard to make sure that I was satisfied. After I paid the contract for more than 9 thousands, I started to deal with this company, and my nightmare began. First, its rep (Ron) wrote an unclear quote and insisted that his peer would understand the quote. Then, the company sent a couple of guys to my home to do template, they left a big piece of drop down area on my countertop for the area was not in the quote, which was exactly that Ron said that his peer would understand. I had to call Ron and had about 30 minutes discussion to get the area done for template. From this point on and two weeks later, I phoned the company in a Friday morning only to find if my scheduled installation would happen and what time would be in the following Monday and Tuesday. You know what? I was told on the phone that the company had not done anything in its workshop because I had changed the requirements and needed to pay more money, it turned out again that the drop down area was the problem. I asked why there was no one contacted me if my paid order was in question and not started in as long as two weeks??? The lady, Jenifer, said that is my fault. Can you believe it? I informed Jenifer on the phone that I got to cancel the order and need a full refund. Jenifer said OK.Next thing on the Friday, I went to Home Depot for refund because I paid Home Depot, and I did not paid Blacktops. I was told that Blacktops held the payment and it had to process the refund so that Home Depot could refund to me. In the next 5 days, I went to Home Depot four times, eventually, I got the refund only after I told the Home Depot store manager that I did not deal with Blacktops, I paid Home Depot, and Home Depot cannot hold me as a hostage on the payment if Blacktops did not refund. The store manager now felt the pressure, and started to call Blacktops for about 30 more minutes, eventually, the store manager found that Blacktops held the order and money and did not process the refund though Home Depot requested five days ago. In the end, Blacktops had to make a refund for it provided no service and also used my money of more than 9 thousands as cash flow for more than 20 days. This is the worst company that I had ever known. I strongly recommend people NOT consider it as your service provider.
Dont usually make custom purchases at Home Depot but after looking elsewhere, I decided to do it for a new kitchen counter top. They had a good selection and I found one that I liked. Then I read some of the reviews about Block Tops and was hoping for the best. They contacted me promptly after the purchase and stuck to their schedule for measuring and installing. I hadnt purchased the sink before they came to measure but I gave the Home Depot sales person the sink info and she provided it to Block Tops so they could cut the hole for the sink without having to come out a second time. The installers did a good job, had to send a plumber back for the faucet and garbage disposal hook-up because the sink size was larger than the original and some piping modifications were needed. That took longer than I was initially told (one or two days); they sent someone six days after the counter top was installed but did contact me in the interim to update me on timing. The plumber finished the job today and all is good! Their employees were courteous and cleaned up before leaving.
Worst customer service ever; unresponsive; and disorganized. I purchased a countertop from Home Depot and was told that Block Tops would call me to take measurement for the countertop. 3 days passed and they did not call. I had to wait for over 1 hr 15 minutes in multiple calls with more than 6 different represntatives to try to find out from Home Depot how to contact these people, and now have to wait even longer for their scheduling process to occur. Not sure how these people have a monopoly on Home Depot countertops but the incredible level of unresponsiveness is not acceptable.
