Despite not getting what I was hoping for, I was still able to get a pretty decent amount on account what other places have offered me were a lot lower. IF there were a -5 these guys deserve it! They make it sound all good over the phone...like theyre going to actually make a descent offer....LOL! NO WAY! Quoted me $500 (not running) - $2,500 for my car. I was completely honest but these guys about everything over the phone, but they are weasels and when they come they will super lowball beyond what they tell you over the phone! Do not give them your actually address or let them know where you park or store your vehicle....not to be trusted! Shysters/crooks! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE JERKS!

I had a 2008 Ford Explorer 4x4 with 143K miles with expensive engine issues, and I got what I thought was a fair price considering low Blue Book value, the condition of the vehicle, and the pending head gasket, heads, thermistat housing and radiator problems. It was registered, smogged, and had a small lien. They helped by suggesting possible paths to eliminating the lien and it worked - and they were patient through the process. I went in with my eyes open, they were honest about what they were going to do with the car, and the appraiser haggled - of course! why wouldnt he? In the end, it was an easy transaction, professional, and hassle free. Lets be honest: you are calling these guys rather than selling it yourself on the market because you want a fast and easy deal without the hassle and not necessarily top dollar. Ryan and Chris Curries did a fantastic job - heres hoping that I never need their services again, but if I do, I will definitely call them first.

My evaluator was a nice enough guy, but the entire process was rather disingenuous. When the initial contact email with them states; Our promise to you is that we will get you the highest market price on your vehicle, and they disparage trade-in and CarMax values as low-ball, you probably expect a fair market offer when they arrive. However, I was given a super lowball offer that was CONSIDERABLY less than CarMax and the dealer had offered me. When I commented that the offer was lower than I expected, I was told that the trade-in value wasnt really the value of the car, and you know that right?. No I dont know that, as the value is determined mostly by what the market will bear, and KBB alone gives my expectations plenty of credibility. They offered well under HALF of what I now intend to sell it for as a private party sale. Thanks but no thanks Derek Emery. Lets not waste time on luring in potential sellers for a lowball offer, probably works enough to make it a feasible operation, but irritating nonetheless.
