Really gone downhill in the last few years. Played it today and I should have worn a kidney belt. Carts were nice but the fairways and cart paths were ridiculously bumpy. Greens were OK. Spend a few bucks more and head to Avalon. Definitely not a destination course anymore.
Great course, the fairways are wide open, I always enjoy golfing here. Beautiful views of the ocean, and oil refineries. Too you can find a bunch of balls, so that automatically makes it an outstanding course.
Generally easy and open. But there are some challenges and troubles to get into. The greens are some of the smoothest Ive ever played also pretty fast.
Fun course, not to long and I assume its windy most of the time because of its location between the bodies of water. Which makes it a bit longer. I know its not easy for us guys, but to play in the wind you need to grab an extra club or two and swing easy to flight it low. Even with the driver, swing easy to flight it lower. Overall friendly folks running the course, with cool views, dont understand why it wasnt more crowded. But It was our gain having a wide open course
Love the Swinomish! My home course and a great place to golf ❤️
Course is absolutely garbage. Not well taken care of. The only nice thing is the carts. Way over priced for how bad this course is.
I went to 3rd grade at Fidalgo Elementary in the 1961-62 school year when this course was called the Smilk Beach Golf Course. Its the first golf course I ever played. My dad had just bought his first set of golf clubs and I used his seven iron two or three times on every hole while he was figuring out how to play golf. A year later he got a membership at the Skagit Valley Country Club which was then only nine holes and I played there for three years with a womens Louise Suggs starter set that he bought for my mom. She took two or three lessons and found out she had disc issues in her back so never learned to play. We had family memberships at Kitsap Golf and Country Club (five years), a course called Sun Meadows in Houston for four years (7,000 yards), Useless Bay Golf and Country Club for about fifteen years and another fifteen years at Whidbey Country Club in Oak Harbor where my dad played until he was too old to swing a club. My youngest brother, Brion, has been head pro and Director of Golf at Useless Bay for about fifteen years now. My wife and I spent a week in the San Juans last summer and drove by the Swinomish Links both coming and going. Next time through Ill bring my clubs along.
New driving range layout is looking good these days.
Golfed with my wife & two sons, had a blast! was a little wet, but the greens and tee boxes were in excellent shape!
Had Saturday morning Tee time, course was great, person in the clubhouse wasnt very welcoming, seem to have a bad attitude, obnoxious. Reason I gave a 3 Star. He shouldnt be in the front office.
Not a lot of danger but always plays hard...
Great place to chase a little ball around the grass
Course is really wet right now. Actually have pumps out on the course. Some new tee boxes, greens are a little bumpy, but its only March
My home course due to its proximity and couldnt ask for a better one. Great prices, staff is friendly and helpful, pace of play is typically never an issue and most importantly the course is well maintained, in the summer the greens get pretty fast.
Wonderful day golfing ⛳
They have done a nice job making changes to the course. Its been years since I have golfed there. Good variety. Still a little confusing so if its your first time be sure to take a score card to see the map. My only two complaints were bathrooms were not clean... outhouse over full, and the fairways are really bumpy.
Its a good coarse to play. Its near our home and its fun to meet friends there. Staff is helpful and friendly.
Great course for the money. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Good time
Nice, open course. Staff was great
We stay at the RV Park @ the Swinomish, usually in the fall or winter. So I had never played the Golf Links. So we went up there this past week, unfortunately they plugged the greens.... I decided to play anyway. I am so glad I did. The coarse was in good shape. The Customer Service @ the Clubhouse was awesome. I had a great round and experience.
This course is always maintained and plays great. I like the links style play it has.
Nice course. Holes a little scrunched together. Great time.
Greens were excellent but dangerous, can get hit easily with the way the course is set up!
Fun course lots of beginners 4+ hours. Tee shirts hats backwards and so on.
Top notch customer service from Wade, Jamie, Matt and all the staff, caring genuine, accommodating and professional.I work for a large local business and have organized our employee golf tournament for the last 5 years at Swin golf links to our 100% satisfaction. The course has been in a continual state of upgrade, new practice area and greens, improved drainage and new equipment to maintain the property. Thanks for a great experience !Bob Hardesty
The course was nice. Clean grounds. Staff is great.
The staff are friendly and helpful. This is a links styles course with enough challenges to be fun for golfers of different abilities. The greens were in great shape smooth and fast. The breaks are subtle and deceptive. It was a fun course to play and I would play it again
The greens were in great shape, the tee boxes also, but many areas of the fairways....were not mowed. I have played this course for almost 40 years and am saddened to see how they have decided to not maintain many areas of the golf course. It has always been a fun and beautiful course, but many areas are now allowed to grow wild and look very shabby. I have enjoyed many fun rounds here over the years, but the impression my last round left is one that saddens me. The course isnt what it use to be at all.
Me and my friends stopped here at midnight in the pouring rain got out and vibed in the parking lot in the rain, 10/10 would recommend
Nice fairways, great drainage. Very enjoyable.
Always a great local favorite
As a visitor to the area, I find the 3.8 overall rating a bit low. No, this is not a resort course, but it is a fun and challenging golf course with a friendly, helpful staff and everything you need to have a good round of golf. The long, controlled hitters will most likely find this course easy, but for the mid-handicapper it can be a test even though it is only 6100+ yards. Course is the bumpiest I ever rode, but the fairways and greens are in great shape and the greens putt fairly fast, but true. Best to keep it in the short grass or prepare to pay the price. The rough is mowed, but its lush and will eat you alive if you make a habit. If youve never played the course it will be to your advantage to ask to be paired with those who have knowledge of the layout. I will definitely play here again and recommend it anyone who enjoys the game.
Had a great round. The course has come a long way. The greens where rolling nicely. Just over a 3 hour round. A little pricey, but we had a good time.
Had some father and daughter time on the driving range. Club house staff were friendly and engaging. The range had a lots of targets with yardages marked. We had a great time together.
We have noticed a downward change since the Tribe took it over..But I think that may change as they figure out how to manage a golf course. The real problum with this course has always been the fairways...They are supper rough, you almost need a kidney belt. I like the new carts though.
Old - a community golf course - if you live there and love golf, a ok place to spend the afternoon - but if you are traveling, DONT waste your time to bring your clubs to play there.
Excellent golf course that poorly manages play. Allows groups of 5 and 6 to play and doesnt manage people starting on the back nine when players are making the turn jamming up play. Its a free for all.
Ever since the casino took ownership of this course I think it has gone downhill. I miss Similk Beach Golf Course. This is the course I basically learned how to play golf and I miss the old course before the Casino bought it and started over charging. Went and played 9 holes on a Saturday and the round took a little over 3 hours! If you know anything about golf, for 9 holes this is absolutely ridiculous. They did mention it was going to be slow, but still, this is unacceptable. Also, my friend and I went there for his birthday. Most courses I know in the area offer a free birthday round or a discount, but not here. For 9 holes, 2 carts, and our significant others (who just rode in the cart, no playing) it was just under $100 dollars. Overall, the course was in OK shape, the staff were friendly, but wont be coming back). If you are looking for nicer courses and more reasonable rates check out Gleneagle (Arlington), Cedarcrest (Marysville), Avalon (Little Expensive).
This course is small, short and simple. The help is friendly and there is a driving range for warm up. If you are a beginner or playing with a beginner it is a good course to play.
10$ got three tokens for about an hour and a half worth of balls at the driving range. Hoping to go back next weekend the try the 18.
Great course at a great price!
I believe the reviewer who criticized the unmowed fairways does not understand that the new management has added some features that have a lot in common with a links-type course (hence the name of the course!). These areas of long grass are left long on purpose, are not part of the fairways, and are hazards to be avoided. Could be the reviewer doesnt always hit the fairway?
Swinomish Golf Links, is alright not the best court but it does the job.The staff doesnt seem to be very knowledgeable and they tend to have miscommunication.
Friendly and accommodating staff, course in better condition than last year
Really great course, with an active duty military discount. Well kept, great views and fun holes.
Its totaly going to hell. Poorly managed course.
Fine course and great staff.
Its a beautiful golf course!
Hard as a rock fairways but you have to expect that in August here. Otherwise good.
Great staff adds to the experience!
Nice course fun time
Many league events that limits more than 9 holes
Green very slick
Greens are the best
Fun course
Nice for practice
Nice one
Great Course
