The customer service at this location is atrocious. They are rude, honestly they seem like they dont want to work. Very unprofessional. The merchandise is treated poorly. Had to return a few items more that once because of the handling of the inventory. I am closing my home depot account and going over to Lowes.
*NEW POLICY STARTING A MONTH AGO* NO ITEM CAN BE RETURNED WITHOUT RECEIPT OR CREDIT CARD- they will not give you store credit unless you paid with a credit card or have a receipt. Margaret said she could switch it for a different one, but it had to be the same exact light🤔 Dawn said absolutely not I don’t know what to tell you I’m the manager. I asked her if I could then switch it for a single light that I need (it was a double lamp outdoor light) she said “no, the policy started a month ago, have a good day” and walked away.
Called to have 27 bundles of shingles put together for pick up, said they had no-one working it was just the guy that I talked to there. Would not help, Asked to get 4 bundles of shingles off second rack, waited 30 minutes before I climbed up and got them myself, upon crashing out with 1500 worth of stuff I had two rude cashiers at the customer service desk, very unhappy. Going to lowes from now on
The store is huge and I always find more than what I was looking for.. Every aisle I turned down I swear theres another employee waiting to see if I need help.... They are always able to answer my questions too
Love Home Depot. Always finding what I need. Great customer service!
We ordered a door and the install for a door, staff were very kind and helped us pick out exactly what we wanted.
The staff is pleasant, but we waited an extremely long time for delivery on in stock floor trim. What a major disappointment!
Great customer service and product selection. The store is very clean and organized. They have everything you need to complete your project. Whether youre looking for custom kitchen cabinets or closet organizers, this local hardware store has you covered. Their trained associates can help you find exactly what you need for your project. This location is northeast of the intersection of Route 30 and Miami Avenue in the Hannaford Plaza, between Walmart and Big Lots.
Always helpful people and friendly pleasure Togo there and do budiness
ABSOLUTELY in love with this store. The only complaint is my house mate had a question about lumber for a new large front deck. The employee in the department was clueless so we went to the Amish for our lumber.
Love the store but home depot really needs to have more associates available to help customers. Also I have been in the Amsterdam location 3 weeks in a row looking for husky ratchet wrenches and still nothing stocked
Super awesome stock and we were assisted by Andre who was a super big help with me and my boyfriend picking out the perfect new faucet!!!! Need more customer service people excited to help!!!
I go here if I can find a better deal or if there’s a specific item I need from here. Not the biggest fan of how the stores are set up warehouse like but like most other chain retailers you can pretty much find what you need if you know the layout. I utilize the app to help navigate me to the aisle I need to be in and the staff will help if you need it. Decent selection of products too.
Pro desk helpful, staff on floor need more experience.
Terrible experience. Woman at customer service treated me with an attitude like I was bothering her and trying to get help in lumber area was impossible. Employees were too busy filling online orders to help. Aisles were so full of online orders you cant get down them with a cart. Ill just go to Lowes from now on
Fast and efficeint when bringing you your items
Worst experience one can get from customers service. Especially the resistanceSupervisor at cusCustomer service cannot give you any star.
Worst store ever special order slate tile waiting a week for it finally came in went to pick it by myself I may add waiting a long while to get help to load in my vehicle only to get it home to find it was all broke and damaged brought it back not one care for my trouble very rude customer care and less care giving to customers got my money back headed to lowes much better experience and now will finish my kitchen with only Lowes merchandise
Got a lot of help with the paint and the color came out better than it looked on the sample picture
They r to with helping u need walk around alot to find someone then they dont know what u r talking about
The service staff in the store are proficient in business and can quickly and accurately answer the questions about the location of the items.
One store that had what we needed. We checked online first
If you need help in plumbing, Brian is your guy. I have been coming here for years and he has always help me, and really know his area. The lumber guys, not so much, if you need something cut, check it before you buy it after they cut it.
Needed something from garden center that I couldnt find and the help didnt know if they carried it.
Hard to get anyone to help me on the floor. Not sure if it was due to being female, but several of these big DIY stores seem to just see the men.
Easy to navigate! Looked on line for an item instore, had aisle # which was marked on an outdoor aisle! Made finding my item super easy!
I ordered countertops. Let’s just say it was a long process from start to finish. Getting ahold of someone in that department to ask questions is hell. I had them installed and the stone had chips, they had to drill into my wall to install because the measurements were off. I paid for everything before measurements were done and never had any adjustments witch I thought is weird. Although the counters are beautiful but for 4K I don’t think there should have been so many imperfections in the countertops. Also when I had them deliver a new fridge and stove they scared the hell out of my floor with the stove. I’ve spent so much money here with very bad service. Guess we will be switching to Lowe’s.
Home Depot is better than Lowes hands down. Experience in the past has taught us that. Need help? Associates are scarce.......
Home Depot is one of my favorite places to visit. Staff are always friendly but not always as knowledgeable as you would like.
Paid the deposit for the measurement and the guy was late. Then he measured and left without asking questions or answering any. Then the install was scheduled. That part was easy and pleasant. But then I never heard from HD about delivery so I called them. An hour later they scheduled for the day before install. Got a dumpster. Scheduled the other projects with my contractor that had to be done after install of floors. Day of delivery i had to take aim unpaid sick day to be home for delivery. Never came! Three hours and 2 phone calls later they never put my order on the truck. More calls. More frustrating conversations. I had to postpone the other jobs and demand a full refund from HD. I have never been so frustrated and disappointed by a professional business before. I will NEVER go to HD or recommend them for anyone. Or anything. EVER.
I had an extremely unpleasant experience with an order I placed that had its promised delivery window missed. I had to call the 800 number for Home Depot to work things out (twice) because anyone I talked to at this store either had a rude attitude, conflicting information, or refused to take accountability. As far as Im concerned, my future visits will be to the competitors up the street since they would at least treat me as a customer instead of a nobody.
All you need for one stop shopping for home needs
We were going to buy a $2448.00 trailer. But the employees are to lazy to help you! So were going somewhere else!!!
I purchased a Over $2200 countertop from Home Depot on December 18, 2020 and on December 26 they came out to take the measurements for the countertop and had asked me if I wanted to pay an additional charge to have a solid one piece countertop which I agreed to pay the additional $250 to get I also noticed that the person working for Stonework (Justin) had gotten different measurements than I did when I originally measured the countertop and he had it suggested that there was going to be an additional charge for the miss measurement by grudgingly agreed because I am not a professional when it comes to measuring things however after almost 4 weeks with no communication between Home Depot and or Stoneworks to me they indicated there was a additional amount still needing to be paid before they could make delivery of the product which they had already fabricated at this point I said well no one told me that the amount was due at this time and if I had known that they were just waiting to receive an additional payment I would’ve gotten it done much sooner, but there seems to be some breakdown in communication between Home Depot and the company Stonework. After making the additional payments coming to approximately $500 they said they would make an appointment to come out and install the countertop after they arrived four weeks later at this point in February. The installation crew arrived and had noticed that the countertops was not measured correctly and was too large to fit in the space that we were putting it in. And they had to remove the countertop take it back and cut it down to fit properly which took an additional 10 days now almost the beginning of March. After which they told me one of the installers came down with COVID-19 and was unable to make it back to my house to install the countertop in a timely manner. After they remove the additional material I was never credited for the additional 36 Cubic feet they remove from the countertop. After contacting the manager Alario He assured me that there would be A refund given to me however I never received any such refund even after making follow-up calls to find out what was going on it seemed as though they were not interested in following up with me. Ultimately I paid 36 more feet than I actually received in addition the countertop was supposed to be in one piece that I paid an additional $500 for which ended up being in five pieces. As a result I find myself shopping at Lowe’s now for all my necessary home improvement needs and if I need lumber I go to Curtis lumber now. And I will not be going back to Home Depot for anything ever again the customer service was not even there at any point it felt during this whole interaction. I decided to make this post to warn future buyers of countertops at Home Depot working with the company Stonework. As neither company seemed interested in maintaining or keeping any future potential business. I should also mention that over the last four years I have spent nearly $50,000 at Home Depot alone on Home improvements such as new windows doors flooring roofing plumbing etc. and ultimately my final thought for both companies is utter disappointment.
Home Depot in Amsterdam NY is a joke.I called the store directly to ask a question, and as soon as someone picked up the phone, they hung up the phone. I thought this must be a mistake, so I called again. No, it was no mistake, it happened 6 times in a row. One of the times this happened, it was after I had been on hold for over an HOUR. On my 5th call, I spoke to Yara who was very nice at the service desk who transferred me to the store manager, Carm. Then Carm picked up the phone and when I asked him his name, he promptly hung up. I called back again, asking for Carm - and he was too scared to take the call and wouldnt get on the phone. So I spoke to Pete, who was a pleasure and he answered my questions and helped out - thank goodness for Pete. All of this took TWO HOURS. Apart from Yara and Pete, this is not how you treat people, let alone treat customers. I will be making a formal complaint to their corporate office. My advice to you is to not do business with Home Depot and go to Lowes, Ace, True Value or anywhere else than this big box waste of time.
One of the best Home Depot I visited ever.
Great customer service. Easily located the trim paint and supplies.
Theres no place to put your carts I was sitting in my car when there were high winds and a cart flew into my door $600 worth of damage they did help me pay for it. Just watch out if its windy...
Zero stars . Forced me to go to Lowes.
We were waiting for a sale person in the appliances department for half an hour and nobody came to help us. We asked two other sale persons during that time and they called for help but nobody came anyway. We decided to come the next day (today, September 8th 2020, around 5 pm) and try again but experienced the same problem. We ended up going to Lowe’s and bought all our appliances there, with excellent customer service and no waiting time. They even offered free delivery to our house! Dear Homedepot of Amsterdam, I just wanted to let you know you just lost about $2000 in sales and a good customer.
It was good but they didnt have what I needed so I had to go to Lowes
Good except sometimes finding help
Great have every thing low price and high price.Address is:135 Hanaford Plaza, Amsterdam, NY 12010
See last responce from me
The worst service ever. After ordering flooring in the store middle of December, spent 3 wks trying to find out where it was. I went to the store to try and get my money back and the people at the service counter were extremely nasty and rude. I had to demand to speak to a manager which I did. He assured me my flooring would be in the store the following Monday. I went to the store Tuesday to pick it up and was told it would be delivered to my house on Friday so I said ok and left. Well here it is Friday no floor and NOW they are saying next Friday. I have never in my life complain about a company but this time is out of control.
Not enough staff. Spent more time looking for someone to help me then shopping. The kid with the hand computer was lost. He didnt know what to tell me,. Never found what I wanted.
Great selection. I always find what Im looking for and there is always someone to ask for help finding what I need.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Its a giant Toys-r-us for adults. Endless opportunities of projects to accomplish. Staff are usually walking around to help you out if needed, but sometimes you have to go to certain departments to find someone. If you have the home Depot app, you can look something up and find out exactly where it is. Even if there is an item with no price sign, rare, but I encountered one, I pulled the app up and scanned the barcode. Glad I did. It was a great oscillating fan, but not at that price tag. Prices are compatible to Lowes and other hardware stores.
Kaye from Fllooring just assisted us today. Not only was she very knowledgeable about the products, she was knowable about installation as well. Her customer relation skills can not be beat! She showed genuine care and insisted on loading the products rather than letting my 66 year old husband do it! She’s the best!
Why wouldnt I love this store. I can always find what I need and the staff are very helpful. Love this store to pieces❤
Horrible. The store was a mess, I couldnt get help punching in my coupon code because it wouldnt scan and the girl was more worried about texting. Ill never come back to Amsterdam HD. Dont worry, Lowes is right down the street with the needed products stocked.
Very Helpful. Nice staff
A good hardware store to get everything from nuts to bolts or something that youve been dreaming on building. The staff are are kind and very knowledgeable.
Always a great time but didnt get any help
Fair pricing
It was ok. Pretty fast. And employees were very helpfull
The store was fine, but the employee who came out the door with a large cart and pushed her way through the customers entering the store was rude. When we said excuse me she replied whatever....
Cashiers were nice and polite. Had to order what we were looking for due to being out of stock. Store in general was pleasant.
They got the stuff.... so thats good...
I love shopping there grass seed, cleaners, screws, paint.i just love it.
I went there for an item that I had previously looked at in plumbing. Started down the aisle and was greeted by an associate and he asked if he could help me. I told him that I knew where the item was going to get as I had checked it out before.
Excellent help and service
Will not shop there during COVID outbreak. Doors are clearly marked that masks are required. All employees were wearing masks, however, inventory takers were not. While most customers were wearing a mask, several were not yet were being served by store personnel. Do not understand why these people are not asked to leave the premises.
Great product selection and very helpful/ friendly staff
Good selection of home supplies
Very helpful workers and my dog loves it,it is her second favorite store.
Love the orices
Home Depot is a amazing place, you can find everything you need for your home. From every size screw and bolt, to do it your self home improvement. A great selection of tools, and appliances, and the best paint on the market. A staff that always answer all youre inquiries..I luv Home Depot...
I was greeted by friendly employees found exactly what I needed ..cant say Ive ever not been able to get what I needed..you all do a great job .
Its like a dirty Lowes with dim lighting. Dust on practically everything, lots of debris on the floor as if theyre never swept.
Felt like the workers didnt want to help me
Very helpful in appliances. Good service.
Great place and the best part is there lumber is straight....no rocking chair stock
Very rude associates. I get the extra stress but not treating customers terribly right from the start. But it wont change because the company and even store managers know that people wont stop coming in so no one cares
Occasionally unable to find specific items which is only reason for a star ⭐ removal
It took us like 40 minutes to buy a utility trailer, but they took $200 dollars off for the inconvenience.
1st time using curbside pick up and it was seamless. Rachel helped me on the phone and Raven Ray got it to and in my car.
This location, while convenient is lacking in customer appreciation and service. Staff seem rude and like they dont want to work. When someone does actually offer assistance, which is rare, they seem to know what they are talking about. Not my first choice! Saratoga springs location is better.
Nice store. All the product you would need from a hardware based store. Flowers werent the best. Parking lot is terrible.
Helpful
Enjoy shopping here. Alana the ASM is a great person!
I gave it one star only because I havent visited a home depot in probably a year.
Good selection. Staff wandering the aisles were somewhat helpful; cashiers in garden center check out were doing the bare minimum.
Got what I needed.
Awesome place
Its Home Depot. Like all others. But I wish the staff would wear their face masks correctly.
Short lines, great customer service.
Good prices but the staff was not as attentive as I would have liked them to be. They point you in a direction of the item your looking for and good luck to you. No exact location. I think the staff should be more knowledgeable of the inventory.
Worst customer service ever. Went to return a item, seven people behind the customer service counter, waited at least five minutes before i even got a hello. People looked at me, turned gheir back and continued doing whatever ghey were doing rather than taking carees of customers. Goodbye Lowes
Okay not very helpful in you need not knowledgeable
Always find what I need great prices and workers always receive me with a great smile
Same basic setup is any other Home Depot. Employees I dealt with were friendly and everything seems pretty well stocked.
Jim and Eric were wonderful at assisting in a online order store pick-up situation. It took 3 conversations, but they were finally able to get the Online people to do their job and get us the missing shower. Just like my old home depot, I feel like my husband, son and I are welcome and its like CHEERS! everyone knows us here. Although its a corporate store it feels like a local hardware store.
Its my Disneyland!
The home depot needs more people working the registers. I do not work there and dont get paid to check myself out.
A store with a wide range of items from outdoor lawn and garden, lumber, plumbing, paint, appliances etc.Offering name brand as well as off brand tools and other items. Prices are relatively average to others and they offer several different charge cards depending on what you will use it for. I would have given it 5 stars however their customer services could use improvement however I still shop here frequently.
Your 2×4 are the worst and help is impossible
