It was good. Got the steak sub. Tasted more fresh then the other places in the area. Friendly staff. Very knowledgeable. Definitely will come back try some more subs from them. Very large variety of different meats and other items. Very clean.

Very pleasant experience. Went in looking for Ground Pork which I have been having a very difficult time finding for some Swedish recipes and they didnt have it. The owner found me and let me know theyd be making sausages and theyd set aside some pork just for me. It was only a half pound. Hour later I got a call, came in, owner recognized me and I got my ground pork.There was a real sense of quality in the running of this place. Its well staffed, and the staff was accommodating and helpful. Its a great spot to order some meat, pick up some unique sauces and jams, a local craft brew, and a sandwich. I had the Rueben and I am beyond impressed with both the price and the quality of what I got, and Im from Boston!This place has 5 stars for a reason.

By far the BEST butcher shop around! Quality of meat is second to none. Sandwiches are huge and delicious. Pre-made food is super convenient and a great option for nights when I just dont want to cook. And, the customer service is TOP NOTCH! Ive heard some folks complain about their continued mask requirement... whats the big deal? Worth wearing the mask for this experience, I assure you! Stop thinking about stopping here and JUST GO! Youll be happy you did!

The sandwiched here are top notch! My personal favorite is the Italian. Its small and clean. They let us order ahead of time. Its very convenient!

Our neighbor introduced us to The Flying Butcher a few years ago. This place has the best meats and deli selection in the area. They catered a retirement party for us 2 years ago for about 70 people. They did a great job and everyone loved the food. Highly recommend both the store and the catering.

Stopped in this past weekend to pick up some food and beverages for a BBQ at my sons house. The staff at the meat counter was extremely helpful and patient with my questions. Went to the Deli counter and found the same courtesy. Went to the beer section and was very impressed with the extensive selection. When it was time to check out, I was waiting patiently behind another customer when another cashier called me over. I felt they respected Covid protocols but weren’t in you face about it. BTW, the food was excellent.

This is simply the best butcher around. Great meats, especially the marinated selections. Good seafood selection, including home made crab cakes. Awesome, friendly, and knowledgeable service. And the beer selection is among the best anywhere in Southern NH. Dont miss this place!

One of my favorite stores great people great deli- boreshead, excellent meat counter. Helpful friendly service. Happy to support them. If they can were a mask for 13 hours, I can wear one for 20 minutes to help support health and well being for all!

Quality is Awesome. You always have the attention of the staff even when they are really busy. This is my third time there and will not be my last either. Any questions and they always have the answer. Next time I stop by Im getting the wagu hopefully if covid didnt stop that too.

Excellent Butcher shop and MORE! We have been frequenting The Flying Butcher even before they moved to the Amherst location. Brian, Craig and the whole staff are always welcoming, super helpful and efficient. We are definitely deli meat snobs (Boars Head), haha, and a weekly deli meat family. We appreciate the ability to call in our deli meat/cheese order ahead of time and run in to pick up our order along with whatever other deliciousness is calling our name that week. Its difficult to find top quality fresh fish (Atlantic Salmon- not pre-frozen and Haddock or Cod) anywhere locally, another super convenient weekly favorite . The crab cakes, steak tips, ready-to-go homemade meals, meal sides and soups are perfect for those evenings when you dont have a second to think about Whats for dinner?, cheaper, more delicious and healthier than eating out! Not to mention the excellent beer selection... cant wait until the next Beer Tasting event! Theres always something new and different to look forward to each week at the Flying Butcher. Shop here every week and have done so for years! The prepared foods are delicious and its the place for the best meats, seafood, cheeses and deli. Its an old school vibe, they ask how your day is or how the kids are doing, they make it comfortable to ask questions about the food or how to prepare. We should have more places like Flying Butcher around.

Its usually busy (which is a good thing), however theyre really good at moving around the employees to help with areas that have large amounts of people waiting. Fantastic beer/food selection. And theyre awesome with covid precautions, and the staff is super friendly. I love going to the store.

Tried to support a local business today but was turned away due to refusing to wear a mask in their store. Website says its recommended but in person they wont let you in. Was chased out the door by the manager begging for our business but would only offered curbside. Do not recommend.

I had to change my review from a 5, to this. I go here all the time, but lately, it seems like the people behind the counter just want to get you out of there as fast as possible. I go in there, to see what they have, then buy what I want to have, and to store, but lately after I tell them I am not ready, and Im just looking for what I want, they stand there, and stare at you, its really uncomfortable, and I cut my visit short, picking the first thing I saw, and left. I will probably be going to whole foods from now on. What a shame.

I live in Epping,NH and have a few local butchers around me (Tuckaway Tavern in Raymond, and On The Vine in Exeter). I make the trip once a month to Amherst specifically to shop at The Flying Butcher! The quality of goods is unparalleled and the service is top notch, always friendly and always professional. You will not find a better selection of meats at a better price anywhere...period!

I visited The Flying Butcher for the first time today. Very friendly service! The store is very clean and organized. Fresh meat/seafood, HUGE fruits/veg (gigantic zucchini), and farm fresh duck/chick eggs. Lovely pastries. I got teriyaki beef tips, but Ill definitely be back for some fresh fish at some point.

Unbelievably delicious subs! Go in for their AWESOME meats and deli, and pick up a Pulled Pork Po Boy... You will not be disappointed!

The Flying Butcher is everything that the Phantom Gormet said it was! We were extremely impressed with the quality of the meats; the knowledge and friendliness of the staff; as well as the many other fine products we noticed throughout the store that we will be back to sample. A definite must go!

Service is fantastic although you are going to pay more than at Costco. Selection is really great with lots of marinated meats in addition to the standard cuts... or whole brisket in my case.

This is by far one of the best butcher shops I have ever been to. Super friendly staff, super clean store, and the best cuts of meat and seafood you can find. Their loyalty program is awesome and i visit 1 to 2 times a week in the summer. Definitely worth a visit and then another and then another.....

Some of the workers here recognize my boyfriend and I because of how often we come. They make the best hot sandwiches around. I always get a pulled pork or a cheese steak. I have literally never been disappointed. They also make delicious steak tips to cook at home. I love this place.

I love the Flying Butcher! I drive 20 minutes out of my way to come here even though theres a butcher shop closer to me! Everyone in there is so nice and pleasant! The food is to die for! They have boars head coldcuts which you cant beat and their chicken and burgers are so juicy and tasty!

I thought I would take a different approach to Valentines day and go get some beautiful USDA Prime steaks and cook them up and I found this place nearby. I went in clueless as to what I needed but the staff here was so helpfu . They even gave me some tips as to how I could best cook my steaks! Gave me some homemade spice samplings too, which were absolutely delicious by the way. A must go place is you desire quality meats!

First time visiting The Flying Butcher today. We purchased $70 worth of meats, chicken and steak. Everything was really good. Seasoned well and melt in your mouth. Staff was friendly and recommended some of their favorites. Very personable too, you don’t find many people like that anymore. Highly recommend trying the steakhouse tips and chicken

Top notch customer service, high quality meats & fish, fantastic sandwiches, unique, yummy sides, Boars Head deli, tempting desserts, wide variety of craft beer, fresh produce, variety of local products (pasta, ice cream etc.). These guys are always the best. Knowledgeable, friendly, and know how to recommend a great brewery! The guy helping us yesterday told me a great way to cook wings for the Super Bowl, and suggested we check out Spy Glass Brewing. We went there right after we finished our grocery shopping! Best butcher in the area. Wont find a friendlier staff to help you out. Always a large selection available. Never will you have to worry about getting something last minute and it not being there.

I saw this place on the Phantom Gourmet and just had to stop by and try it. Just like they showed on TV, someone opened the door for us. This place had a very impressive meat selection. I tried their sweet and sticky tips which were absolutely delicious. The quality was excellent. We also brought home a couple of their sandwiches.....the Reuben which was just insanely good, one of the best Ive had. We also tried the smoked turkey with pesto mayo and gouda....which was very good. I thought the prices were a little high on the meat, but that can be expected for a better product. The quality of the tips was worth the price. Great job folks, and Id also like to add, the place is spotless...and everyone there was friendly. We will be back.

Unfortunately, the only reason this place isnt 5 star is because one person said it was overpriced. The quality of the products justifies the price and there is absolutely no reason to give this place anything lower than 5 stars.

I was really disappointed by The Flying Butcher tonight. I pre-ordered a turkey and specifically asked if it would be thawed and was told yes. When I picked it up tonight it was frozen solid. Extremely disappointed.

This is the best butcher around. They have a great variety of meats. They even make sandwiches to go. Our favorite is the steak and cheese sub.

Been going here for years now. We love all the flavors of marinated chicken and steak, its always so tender. This time though, we were looking for something different. Craig recommended a hatfield cut pork chop finished with prosciutto and melted havarti cheese on it My wife loves havarti, so I was in. What a tender cut, we will make this again. Craig even fluffed my prosciutto while Brian made excellent recommendations on local, super juicy, hazy DIPAs. THANKS GUYS!!!! (total COVID side-note but the entire staff is super aware and taking all steps to make sure its a clean experience).

This place has it all. High Quality Meats, a Vast selection of Sides and Desserts, Local Craft Beers and Wine.... plus everything else you could ever need for a BBQ. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Thanks to the Flying Butcher and grilling chef Dan for participating in our Big Green Egg grilling event.The grilled marinated chicken and steak tips where the best you will find anywhere. And there own brand of spices and rubs are awesome with a have a distinct and clean natural flavor to them. I now have a new favorite brand of spices and rubs. If you have never visited to the Flying Butcher I highly recommend you stop in and experience a real Gourmet Butcher Shop!

This place used to be a gem. Unfortunately post Covid its run by punk teenagers that dont understand food safety or covid protocols.

Who knew a butcher store would have get fish? Or the best twice baked potatoes? Of course they have great meat, chicken and cold cuts. And then they have desserts from the Modern and Triolos. But what I like best is the service. You will not find better more helpful, more friendly service anywhere.

Amazing! Just had 2 of their subs the Italian and the Turkey BLT! All I can say is wow and my husband and I are so happy to finally find an amazing sub place! We also buy meat there as well everyone is so polite and it is a very clean place 👍👍👏👏👏👏💗
