My vision insurance pays for a yearly exam and I went to Walmart and got glasses and contacts after my exam.I immediately noticed that with my glasses everything looked slanted to the right. It has never happened to me before, and I have been wearing glasses for over a decade.I went back to have them adjusted and was told that I had to get accustomed to my new prescription.Fair enough.I tried for a week and went back.I explained to Lisa that I cant function with my glasses because of the slant in my vision. She said that my astigmatism was probably worse. She adjusted my glasses so the arms were four inches above my ears. I tried them on and said that my depth perception was way off, and in the vision center she appeared to be superimposed in front of a blurry background. She laughed and said they were supposed to be that way.I went back again and asked if I could have the doctor help figure out the problem, but I was told there was an additional exam fee, which my insurance would not cover.I was wearing my contacts more than I wanted to, and I had discharge and redness in my eye.Her advice was to keep wearing the contacts and wait until I was eligible for the next exam permy insurance.I went back six times (276 miles, to put it into perspective), and I just had my yearly exam at a different place.Lo and behold, I can see straight out of my glasses! There is no slant and my depth perception is spot-on.I suffered with these glasses for a year!
Dr.Tao is kind, patient, professional, and compassionate.Exactly what we need in all doctors!! His staff Excell as well!!
Every single time l go to get my glasses adjusted at Walmart Vision Center in Milford NH, they screw them up. Their so called opticians (many arent licensed) leave scratches on my lenses and nicks in the frame due to careless handling. Worst of all, one girl actually BURNED (ruined!) the right lens of my brand new glasses when she heated them up to adjust them. I had to leave them there to have the lens replaced. Lucky l still had my old specs to drive home with. More recently, someone burned the same lens AGAIN! Im so done with this place!
Walmart vision center @ Amherst is by far the best place to go for eyewear and new frames and lenses...Lisa B is the manager at this location, her staff is fabulous and she is the bestest to help you to decide on whats best for you..Thanks again!!
I recently brought my 6 year old here for an exam. Dr Tao was very patient with her and great at explaining everything he was doing.
I have seen Dr. Tao for 3 years. I really appreciate the care and attention that Dr. Tao puts into every exam. I feel like he is careful, methodical, and thorough. He knows his craft and respects his clients. At first I was a little put off by the fact that he is inside a Walmart, but I came to realize that he is all about quality -- Walmart is just a convenient location.
This man found glaucoma that NASHUA EYE missed. SoooooooHe is the reason my husdband has not had further degeneration. This is a quality place for you and your familys eye health. Prices are not killer with out insurance. Service whenever Im there has been fantastic!
Myself nor my children have ever had exams here. Weve only gotten our glasses through this Wal-Mart visions center. There is one women that we seem to always work with. She is extremely helpful and patient with children. My daughter is 4 and has been wearing glasses since she turned a year old. Shes very used to them but they always need to be adjusted to fit her. Shes too big for the infant frames and too small for the youth frames. It usually takes a while to search to insure the nose diameter is wide enough for her and the ears are short enough. This one particular employee was extremely helpful in helping us to pick the right frames for my daughter. She was also very helpful with the purchasing. She help me decide what package to purchase and didnt recommend one we didnt need. Thank you
I really liked dr. Tao. I think he is very to the point and cares about everyone individually.
I gave a 4/5 cause I only delt with the Techs on site. My son and I came in looking for new frames for his lens. Even though the glasses were not purchased there, she took the time to help my son. During their war zone of remodeling their store, she was able to serve us in a timely manner. You know who you are and thank you for the help!
Dr Tao is the worst I have ever been to! He rushed me through the appointment continuously telling me to relax every time I expressed concern that the final lenses were not clear. He told me I would get used to it. I got my glasses which I tried to wear for a week and in the end I had to return them. Dr Tao refused to do anything about the poor exam he gave me, telling me I paid for a service. A service that was not a correct Rx! He refused to listen to anything I had to say. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON HIM!! I now have to go somewhere else and pay for another eye exam!
I visited this vision center in July 2017 and I feel that the service was very inappropriate and unkind. I went for my initial eye exam with Dr. Tao. I never had glasses before, but felt that my eyes started straining at work, with all of the reading and computer work that I perform daily. After my eye exam, I was told that I needed bifocals. I got a prescription and after one week, my lenses were made and it was a very drastic adjustment. I gave the glasses about 10days and noticed that I still had a very difficult time adjusting with lots of dizziness and it felt like my eyes were crossing when I wore the glasses. I asked if my prescription could be rechecked, because I felt that it may be too strong.I made another appointment with Dr. Tao and he looked at the glasses and put two other lenses for me to look through. Having eyes that have learned to compensate with straining to see, I was not sure what I was supposed to look for exactly. I explained to Dr. Tao that I felt dizzy and headaches with my eyes crossing when I took the glasses off.Dr. Tao insisted that he never gave a wrong prescription and he said that there is no such thing as a strong prescription. He said that I must keep wearing the glasses regardless. I said, cant I please get a second opinion with another more thorough exam? He said I should go pay somewhere else, because he already did an exam.I gave the glasses 2 more weeks with wearing them as he prescribed, but felt even worse. I returned the glasses, because I would pass the deadline to return them for a refund. I am sorry to say this but Dr. Tao has very poor bedside manners as a doctor. I felt belittled and was treated like an inconvenience. Please do not go to Walmart vision center.
Run...dont walk away from this Dr. Office. Hes a rip off, its all about the money with him, and he will fight tooth and nail refunding money that he double dipped on. Also inflates extra charges for supposedly finding astigmatism in my son and instead of charging 15 dollars extra for the contact exam, he is now charging 40. Terrible experience. I wouldnt send my worst enemy here.
Just got glasses ordered here and with a little patience I got a better deal in price than previously quoted
I wanted to do mini monovision and he didnt seem to know what that was and was annoyed. How strange. He seemed irritable, rushed and frustrated even though I was very patient and pleasant to him.
Called to make sure contacts lens were available for pick up before going to get their and be told they dont have them in store. I was extremely upset that I drove a half hour for nothing.
