My husband and I found this cafe by accident, and we are sure glad we did. The whole place was just adorable, very homey, and grandmas kitchen like. The waitress was wonderful, and paid attention to us, cleanliness, other customers, and did all this in a timely manner. The food was phenomenal and very inexpensive, with large portion sizes.

Just ok. Take out orderGot the hash pannwich. Soggy, bagel wasnt toasted or made into a pannini like the menu made it seem.Received the wrong Benedict. Ordered the Irish and got the regular with ham.Was told over the phone that they could do hard boiled eggs without a problem for my son. We get there and they could not do hard boiled eggs.We were told 20 minutes, and it took them over 30 minutes.The staff were very nice and apologized, but still disappointing.Could just be a fluke, but most likely wont be going back.

The Hollow Cafe is a good place to eat breakfast or lunch. I have had lunch there twice recently. It was good food for a decent price. I recommend checking out The Hollow Cafe if you are in the area. If you are looking for a place to eat while driving on 495 or 95 because it is much better than McDonalds and a 5 minutes from the exit.
Best french onion soup ever!! Brunch was also very delicious, I had the Maine maple melt french toast. Dishes are made very unique to the place with their own spin off recipes. Atmosphere is also very nice. Staff were friendly and efficient.
This is a fantastic restaurant for breakfast. They make the best banana pancakes I have ever had. I really like the cozy atmosphere and the service is always great. Very friendly waitstaff. There is sometimes a bit of a wait on the weekends but it is well worth it. This is what I would describe as a hidden gem.
We were a party of five. Waitress took care of two parties seated after us. Paid no attention to the fact that I told her we were in a rush... Gave her a great tip because the food was very good... I just wish our waitress was more attentive to our needs instead of telling the other customers the route she had to take to get to work. She was friendly but, her service was poor.

Read the reviews and decided to come check this little place out for Breakfast. Plenty of parking. You know when you walk in and you immidiatly smell the goodness? Yup!!!We waited few minutes then seated.I ordered the Spinach Benedict, my God it was amazing, I ordered my eggs over easy, and added a side of bacon!!! It was just perfect!!! And amazing presentation as well!!!My friend ordered the french Toast Lord 3 people can eat that its huge slices of toast!! Amazing flavors!!!This place is amazing, the ladies that work there are absolutely wonderful, their service was amazing! If I ever make it back to New Hampshire this will definitely be my to go to Breakfast place!Thank you! 😊
This place is a unique gem on the North Shore! We were promptly greeted and seated by 1 waitress and another brought us coffee. The food came out fast and our drinks were refilled right away. My omelette was very simple-2 eggs with stuff inside and cheese on top so I wouldnt get it again. My husband got biscuits and gravy, which he loved. Overall we had a great experience!
Food was real good. Service was stupidly confused and annoyingly slow. Back room closed for some inexplicable reason.
A pleasant place to have breakfast. Good wait staff, timely service, and good food. I especially like their omelets. Lots of parking also. During high volume times you will find you might have to wait to be seated. Portions are just right.

Still sitting here waiting for our check, we finished our mediocre meal 15 minutes ago. We were greeted when we can in to You can sit here no hello, no welcome. Service is very slow. I am surprised to see all the great reviews as our experience is completely the opposite. Not busy, so that is not an excuse. Never asked how our food was, never offered a refill on our drinks and the order took forever to get to the table.
Sharon is the best! Im here once a week with my 1 year old son. They are always so friendly and accommodating. The food is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable.
My fiancee and I went here for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed the food and service. The sausage, biscuits, and gravy was unique and great and the French onion soup was amazing!
Very good breakfast place, if you are looking for breakfast at the bar there is only four seats though. The menu has just been revised and there are a ton of more healthy options. The staff is nice.

Came here during our usual search for breakfast with my son on weekends and Christmas break, now it was the day after Christmas so I gave them a star for being open. Looked busy, google reviews didnt look bad, but lets just say we ended up leaving before anyone even said hello (and that took forever). Walked in to a small dining room, maybe 8 tables total as the extended dining room doors were all closed and only the small inner dining area was open and available (I have been a waitress and could have handled the dining room on my own easily), the tables were full and the only had one waitress but still... she could have acknowledged us or something.. anything.... so we stood there waiting to be seated, never got seated by the waitress or anyone who worked there (someone who said she was a regular, which was surprising to me they have regulars after we left, actually got up from her table, gave it to us and said she was going to sit at the bar), the waitress never came over to us, or even looked at as when we walked in, but she had time enough to ask the regular if she was going to sit at the bar. We sat at the table with the menus the regular had given us for at least 30 min. OMG- the MENUS!! BOTH myself and my son left there with headaches from attempting to read the menu. To the owner of this cafe- sorry but bad choice- the DiFFerEnT SizEs, cAPitAL lEttErS, CoLoRs, anD StYleS of FonT yOU ArE uSiNG (yes this is how the entire menu looks but worse because its also multicolor) makes your menus extremely difficult to read and gave us a headache from just trying. We got up. We left. In the maybe hour total we were there, the waitress barely got the drink order for the table next to us, right when we walked in we saw a child get up from his table and physically go ask the waitress for a box because they didnt want to wait anymore, and additional customers came in and left also not being served, not as patient as my son and I were.

In anyway not trying to be completely rude, The staff at the hollow cafe are polite and proper. Im very unsatisfied with the quality of the food and cost. A Denver/Western omelette should never cost $12.25; and disappointed with the pancake shaped egg with the toppings tossed in after the egg was cooked (With a low quality cheese that melted to a milk paste).

If youre looking for a good breakfast at a decent price with great friendly service thisplace is your answer. Ive been going here for years and always a smile and good food, with fast service. Some days are busier than others so if you hava a party larger than 5 or 6, best to call ahead, but usually not much of a wait. If you are in the Amesbury area, you should definitely make time for some hash and eggs here at the Hollow Cafe! Other breakfast/lunch places around, but I always go back to the Hollow after trying the others. Prices are good and theres always plenty of free parking ;)

Nice staff, not so good home fries tasted like boiled potatoes. i was served canned Hash that was disgusting. only got two items, cant speak for the rest of the menu. will never go there again. sorry Hollow hope this is a wakeup call you need a chefs intervention.
Arrived here by chance after a horrible experience elsewhere. They were super busy and had a line out the door but didnt wait long for a table and the service has been exceptional! Will definitely be back

I wont be going back. The waffles where floppy, cold, and sad. If I had to guess I would say they came from a frozen bag and where barely heated up. The butter didnt melt on them, then when I went to cut into them the knife sunk in to the wet untoasted bread.
