The employees are friendly. I couldnt find jackets for riding for gals, or at the very least, smaller men. There was a good selection of gear with the location printed on it. Not much inventory for bikes.

Went there for the first time ever last weekend, 06/26. Was instantly greeted by some of the most amazing staff I have ever come across!! the enthusiasm at this dealership is second to none! From the service staff to the sales staff, and management, this is a first class dealership that deserves to sell this iconic motorcycle! I love this dealership! Weve bought a few bikes here. Management is good, most of the staff is great! Friendly and very helpful, Allison will always take the time out to go the extra mile for any customer. They make you feel welcome. Would recommend the service department too, Scott is great back there! If theres ever an issue they do remedy the problem and care about their customers.

I broke down on a trip and called the dealer to see if they could help. I was pleased to hear they would have someone pick me and my bike up for free. Had me going in the morning. If they were upfront and honest about the condition of a motorcycle when asked over the phone, it would have saved a 4 hour one way drive. I specifically asked if the bike looked like it had been dropped. The response was I dont know. After arriving I immediately see resin on a fairing and heavy scratches on both sides. It not only was clearly dropped, but slid. Also trying to sell me on different bikes after was a treat. I didnt even see the person I had been talking to, but they had someone else deal with me. Did not try to explain their point of view which all told, tells me I was purposely deceived.

The team I played for the Minnesota millers were in town for a beat baseball tournament.. I always stop and get a shirt sure the local Harley Davidson where we have tournaments and the World Series at. As usual extremely Friendly and helpful!

Sales people are just a little too pushy! They dont really ask if u have questions and leave u to shop they push for the sale makes them look money hungry.

I found Zylstra in Ames on accident when searching for a new bike. I am from MN, there are plenty of dealerships closer to me that I could have purchased from but from day 1 Zylstra took great care of me! When inquiring about the 2020 Street Glide Jeff sent me a personalized video of the bike inviting me to come in & check it out, from the text messages and phone calls I never felt like I was just another customer, It wasnt just about the sale. They were more concerned with building a relationship and making sure my buying experience was top notch! When picking up my bike I had the opportunity to meet with the Parts guys, Service department & the finance manager. I had great conversation and experience with all of them! Zylstra Harley in Ames IA might not be the biggest nor the most fancy Harley Dealership around but I assure you they compete with the best of them when it comes to customer service & experience when purchasing a bike! I am happy I made the 8 hour round trip drive to purchase my 2020 Street Glide Special from the Guys & Girls in Ames Iowa!

I have never actually been inside until I went there on Saturday to take a check there for my mom.Nice store, alot of staff were there. It looks like they have a very good selection of used bikes. I did not see any new ones, I am sure theyre located elsewhere.Covid restrictions in place and the staff was friendly.Ample parking and in an easily accessible location.

Overall experience was horrible. It felt like I was dealing with a slimy used car salesman. It really was a waste of my time dealing with them. The salesman didn’t know anything about the bikes I was looking at, and actually gave me incorrect information. I would highly recommend not wasting your time in Ames and going right to the Big Barn if you want a professional experience.

Missing normal things for HD

/biker waveI wont tell you this place is cheap. Its not. But it is quality! And thats what Harley is about. My interactions with the sales and service staff has been excellent. They are helpful without being pushy. You can browse and not feel pressured by sales staff. They also provide some great events and knowledge.

I had a wonderful experience at Zylstras. I was having problems with my front speakers on my Street Glide and I thought I had blown my front amp. I went in to buy a new front amp and they were able to check it. It was not the amp. He told me to put my bike back together and bring it in. They did some updates on the radio and found a blown fuse that fixed my problem. My bill was zero and I was treated like a long lost friend. Thank you for the excellent service!

Had my bike in for service, Scott and the department were great! Had me up and going in no time, he called to give me updates throughout the entire repair process. And the tech, Bryce,did great work! They even made it look new again after the service was done. All in all a 10/10. I wouldnt take my bike anywhere else!

I know I had to pick a specific department, so I chose the one I deal with the most, but in all honesty everyone in every department is friendly and very helpful. Very poor selection of T- Shirts in 2xx or 3 or 4. My.Guess they only order once a year..over half shelves were empty Kinda odd when getting 30-50$ for a shirt..yea think youd stock your shelves

Just bought a 2003 Anniversary Edition Electra Glide Ultra Classic from Brant. The experience was no muss, no fuss! Even when I tried to ruffle some feathers by shouting GO HAWKS after ringing the bell...lol

Id give them 0 stars if it were an option. The worst experience Ive ever had purchasing a motorcycle. They have horrible customer service. They take no ownership in their mistakes. Theyre rude and condescending. They go back on their word. They lied on a contract we had with them and then laughed at us when we confronted them about it.

First time I visited zylstra I was pleasantly surprised how willing and nice the entire staff was compared to other competitors. Clint was one of the best salesmen ive ever had the pleasure in dealing with, because of clint and the rest of the staff on how I was treated I traded my Indian in on a new harley and I would recommend anyone to this place theyre alittle smaller but they treat you a lot better than other competitors, thanks guys.

Im sure some have had a good experience with them. Ours not so much. We ordered parts in November to winterize our Harley. Finally received them today January 27th 2017. After many phone calls and conversations with them telling us one part was back ordered, which we understood to a point. Ive been in business before and there is usually more than one outlet for parts to be ordered from which was the last conversation we had with them. And then it ended up being the wrong part which was cheaper than what we originally ordered Yicks. Were tired of the hassle with parts department so we decided to eat it. Good thing there are other dealerships.
