If you need furniture, tools, or supplies for home maintenance or remodeling, do yourself and go to the Habitat Store FIRST. They may just have what you need, for a huge savings, and the profits go to a very worthy cause. The store in Ames is in a good location right off of north Grand Avenue. Parking is more than adequate. The entrance is odd though - dont use the front door. Go around to the south side of the building and enter there.

I love Restores in general but this is my favorite one for furniture and tools. It seems each Restore has their own niche of what they sell the most of. This is a go to place for anything before heading to the big box stores!

Sometimes, on rare occasion, you can find a bargain at this place-- but its rare. Their prices on their furniture and lamps especially are absolutely absurd. Werent these items donated? Isnt Habitat for Humanity a place where people can go to find good-used-home supplies when they cant afford to buy new ones?? But you might as well buy a new sofa, when an outdated used one costs over $500 at this place.I cannot see the justification for having such ridiculously high prices on USED and DONATED items.
