Im a tea newbie and went not knowing what to expect. The person who helped me was so nice and helpful. I was impressed with all of choices they have and I also purchased a book for beginners. I will definitely be back!

What a fun and cute little shop! We loved the art installations, the product displays, and the overall aesthetic. The staff were fun to talk to and answered our questions politely (bless them lol), and we ended up leaving with several very wonderful teas to bring back.

I havent branched into making tea at home, so I dont buy a lot from here. When I do go in, I usually get a tea latte to drink while Im out and about. Very good selection!

Excellent quality tea. Great, friendly owners, who will help educate and recommend teas that you might like if you dont know what you want. They are also currently following all recommended covid precautions, so I felt safe going in to grab my cup of tea. I highly recommend the fireside tea or the twilight tea blend, both are unique and very flavorful!

The fragrant and tasty tea along with the calm atmosphere added so much peace to my meeting with a long time friend.

Went to Ames from Des Moines today and came upon this shop. I ordered a chai latte and it was so delicious! Really wonderful. The staff was very helpful as well. Will definitely go back.

Nice shop. I was looking for some tea gear to make better tea. The selection was pretty small, although they do have Japanese tea sets, which can be hard to find. I didnt exactly find the ceramic mugs I was looking for. But did find something suitable. Likely a great place to get a cup of tea, but we didnt take the time this trip.

Stopped by after perusing the farmers market this Saturday. Was drawn in by the sandwich board stating it was Chai Time! or something along those lines. We love chai lattes so in we go.We order 4 chai lattes and these took more than 20 minutes for them to make. This is 11am on a Saturday and when we entered there were no other customers so prime time for when they should expect drink orders and not busy. Afterwards there was zero apology or acknowledgement of the fact that I had to just mill about in the store for 20 minutes as my family waited outside. Nope just heres your lattes that you ordered 20 minutes ago now give us $22 please. $5.50 for a chai is on the upper end of the spectrum for that drink so I was at least hoping they would be good, but no, they tasted fairly weak - mostly like milk and sweetener.The final straw that really bugged us is that despite the advertising, the employees didnt really seem to have a good functioning knowledge of how baristas should work. There were at least 3 employees there, but the other 2 left the 1 to struggle through making the drinks, offering no help at any point even though I, from the other side of the counter, could tell they were not having the easiest time keeping things straight. Main sticker was that each drink was made individually and then kept behind the counter until all 4 were done. This meant the first 2 made sat long enough that they were not hot when we got and paid full price for them.Just didnt really seem like they should have been advertising their drinks that hard if they werent also going to be 100% ready for someone to order them. Seemed completely unprepared for that scenario which is kind of mind boggling.

I love this place! Ames is lucky to have it! Everyone that works there is so friendly and really knows how to help with all of my questions! I love getting tea to take and make at home, and I love getting a cup brewed to sip on while I shop downtown. There’s always something new to see or try. Love!

Lovely atmosphere. Great place to go for an expertly crafted tea. So many kinds to choose from! Also an amazing place for herbs and spices. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. I always learn something new when Im there, usually while Im trying a new tea ;)

A lovely little specialty tea shop with great staff. They were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about all their products. The second you walked in you felt welcomed and right at home. The space is beautiful and has a very artistic feel. The prices are amazing as well. I absolutely love this place. I’d live here if I could.

This store was fantastic. Not only did they have a wide variety of teas to choose from, but they also had lots of spices, and even local honey for sale. The woman working the register was very helpful and even made us a sample of some tea! We Will definitely be returning!

One of my favorite places in Ames. Love stocking up on loose leaf tea for home or hanging out for a bit for a hot drink. My favorite is the turmeric chai latte or trying new teas with a tea flight! If you like coffee, be sure to try the Coffee Cherry Tea. Also... Smell before you buy/try? Yes please!

This tea shop is an interesting little stop on Ames Main Street. It had a great selection of pure and mixed teas, as well as herbal tea-like options. The staff is very friendly, willing to answer questions, and quick to point out suggestions. Its a great atmosphere to grab a pot of tea and study a bit, or grab something warm for a lap around Main. They also have a tea of the month club, tea supplies (pots, cups, kettles, etc), and a seasonal special. Very much worth your time!

I love little woods so much. They have a great atmosphere, helpful staff who are knowledgeable and friendly, and they have some great small events with local artists that are definitely a great way to spend the evening for a few hours. They had a cider that was so delicious and I bought a friend the Greek spice blend which she was super excited to try! If you love tea or need herbs ft anything little woods is a great local place to go!
