The espresso machine must be down! It tasted like water. Thoroughly upset. Wont be coming back... Hyvee/ Target starbucks actually make their drinks correctly. If youre getting a refresher youre good, but this coffee shop does not know how to make coffee.

Pretty fast drive through service. They even ask how your day is going when at the window. Its a little thing that makes it feel more personal. My puppy even enjoyed her puppicino.

I come here way more often than I should, they always make my drinks perfect and the staff are super friendly and give great drink suggestions when Im feel adventurous!

Usually good but went there once at 7 PM & they told me they couldn’t help me because they only had two people and “couldn’t function” I’ve had to do this many times in service jobs, I would’ve understood that service was going to be slow but closing, really? Went to Dunkin & guess how many people were working? 2

I understand wearing a mask and I always do when I’m in public but as someone who has glasses and with the cold weather, my glasses fog up. My mask was under my nose so I could read the menu and I was told to put it up over my nose. I felt pressured to order something I didn’t want because I couldn’t read anything else because I had to put my glasses on top of my head due to them fogging up. I was obviously struggling to read the menu without them... just didn’t appreciate being told to cover my nose when I really did need to pull it off my nose for a minute. My mouth was still completely covered. I had no other option. So yes kind of upset about it.it only needed to be off my nose long enough to read the menu and i wasnt allowed to do that.

Drive thru slow. They have 5-8 people working there most of the time, still takes 20 mins to get a cup of coffee.

Extreamly friendly staff, seems like they would bend backwards to make you happy if need be. Mentioned that I worked a 5 hour shift in a place with a broken a/c and they offered me water. If I was able to give them 6 stars I would give them 7 loved it here

This rating is based on 2 visits. On the first (7/11/20) visit my concern was sanitation related to covid. The older man working the drive through wore no mask and handled the drinks by the lid. It seemed very inconsistent with Starbucks policies. The next day we went back earlier in the day. All of the staff were wearing masks and handling cups appropriately as far as I could tell. My only concern was the coffee. I ordered Pike Place with extra cream. It was the darkest coffee I have ever had and there was far too little cream. Unfortunately, I had driven away before noticing. Next time I will know to check.

Its a Starbucks so its what you expect. The drinks are pretty good but over priced for no more than they are. There are better coffee places but if you like Starbucks this is a good location.

We had a fairly big order with a couple drinks and the staff was nice about it and our order was correct. we will return for sure!

Always a long wait,sad to say starbucks aint what it used to be

The staff is either super friendly or super rude :/ I have had an amazing experience with one barista. Then the next day, another male barista literally huffed and rolled his eyes at me when taking payment(like at least do it when I leave but not to my face). This could be just one employee but since then I haven’t gone back because I don’t want to be treated rude when I’m just trying to get a cold brew or frap.

I never leave reviews but felt I needed to this time. Unbelievably rude service when asking to customize a tea and the price of it.

I always seem to have to wait in line a lot but that is pretty much common at this time due to the pandemic. But they are always super nice and friendly.

Usually pretty decent, always busy, but the ladt time we went our coffees were horrible.

Honestly the drinks were made perfectly, props to Olive on that! But the guy taking our order who appeared to be a manager was quite rude to us. He really didnt promote the third place environment that Starbucks goes for.

This location seems to prioritize the drive through over walk in and mobile orders. My order took over 20 minutes on a reasonably slow day, while cars were moving through in less than 5.Avoid unless you want drive through or have a ton of time to waste.

Good coffee but ...Fail... no unsweetened nut milk. Found that they have very few options for sugar free which is a common thread in todays world as many are becoming more and aware of the sugar nightmare in our culture.

Very friendly and thorough staff. There is always a line wrapped around the store on top of it being busy inside as well! Yet, they maintain professional and work efficiently. Very unique staff that mostly knows me by name, and recognizes my order. They are the best part of my day, and this is the best Starbucks I’ve ever been to.Love you guys!

It was alright. Coffee was warm despite getting iced latte and most ice cubes melted. Coffee was pretty much at room temp. Definitely not worth the $5 I paid for a small coffee.

My opinion varies daily. Mostly happy except when my order is not filled correctly. Yesterday my Tall Flat White felt a little light when I first lifted it. Opened it and saw 2 inches of foam on top, less espresso. Flat means NO foam. Keeping trained employees seems to be an issue. Not sure why. Benefits of working at Starbucks are beyond awesome. I met someone who works at Starbucks corporate in Seattle who began working for Starbucks in high school, throughout college. She loves her job there. I wish more young people would appreciate this opportunity and had a desire to do not just a good job but a GREAT job.

Best Starbucks location in town. I always have a great experience here. Friendly fast staff and they are always consistent. I come here every week and they always do my drinks the same. Cleanliness is also pretty good here, the only bad thing is the really small parking lot that does not fulfill the needs of the location. If you are trying to come here with a large group, come early in the morning or you might want to find another location.

Coffee is good but service is always slow and they just don’t care doesn’t matter if you mobile order or if you just come in and order. 90% of the time I wait 15+ minutes for my drink even if it’s not very busy.

Drive thru is always busy! Was able to park, go inside, order two drinks, and still beat the person I wouldve been behind. Coffee is amazing though!

Ordered 2 frappes waited 15 min. Got my first one. But waited another 10 Min before I got the second one so my first one was melted almost by the time I left. Then I had to ask the guy to put his hair up and wash his hands before making mine. I watched him run his hands threw his hair multiple times while making others food and drinks.

The girls are always super helpful, and always repeat my order. I forget I like the lemonade in my peach green tea sometimes but they always ask if thats the way I want it.

Sure the coffee is over priced but it is always good and if it is not done right they will remake it no problems. Most hot drinks are a little to cool for my taste so always ask for hotter or colder according to your taste.

I have heard people talking about this place. I heard that they have good coffee. So I tried it once. I am not a coffee person. I only drink homemade coffee because I can make it like the way I love.So the coffee tasted good. I drunk it and few min later, my blood pressure went up. I wasn’t even able to walk normally. I tried to move around to lower my blood pressure. I couldn’t breath very well. I was like that for about 1h and half. I can’t remember which kind coffee I had.It’s not the first time that this happened to me. I have bought coffee at different places and the same thing had happened to me. When I make coffee at home, I don’t have it. I usually put a lot of water for less coffee so it not concentrated.NOTE: This review is for people like me who seem to be sensitive to coffee and still need or want coffee. I put 3 starts. The 1st because it’s not good enough for people sensitive to coffee, the 2nd start because it taste so good, the 3rd because I love their breakfast menu.I am still looking for a good place where I can have coffee that my body can support.

This is my favorite Starbucks. Theyre extremely efficient and so friendly. No matter the time or day, the person taking your order has a smile on. If I have the time to go to this location I will choose it over all the others in Ames. The staff is great and they really know how to get through the morning rush.

That barista, Rachael, was the best! Her customer service and friendly smile made my day! And the two mocha frappuccinos my fiance and I received tssted delicious, and Rachael warmed up my blueberry muffin with love and I ate that as I waited for my drinks. Great overall visit!

This location has been consistent in the five years Ive lived here in providing average to above-average level Starbucks coffee drinks. A few times theyve really exceeded my expectations, and theyve certainly always at least met my expectations.The line moves quick, and Ive never seen the Baristas flustered, as one does sometimes at smaller locations.The bathrooms, counter, display case, and condiment table are always what I would consider a perfectly acceptably clean.Its well laid out and Ive always been able to find a chair that suited me. One of the big things about layout for me is whether or not my walker can get around in a store, and so far I havent had a problemThis is the default place that my husband goes when hes waiting for something, and hes very picky about his Starbucks so thats a large compliment.

Stopped here today for a business meeting! Perfect location to talk over a warm cup of coffee! Better parking lot than other Ames locations and even a drive thru. Loved the seasonal Toasted White Chocolate Mocha! Glad there is Hot Cocoa for the kids!

I got a better tasting White Mocha from the Cinemark on Duff. the girl at the counter literally read the instructions on how to make one off a laminated piece of paper on the fly and it tasted better then the last 5 or 6 White Mochas that I got from this place. The other day I got a black cup of coffee here, it tasted like it had been sitting in the pot for hours, gross. Wont be coming here anymore.

At this location, you’ll receive what you ordered maybe 50% of the time.

Great coffee however the footprint of the store and parking is much too small for the business they be do. Too little parking. Too much drive thru traffic. Also would be nice if they posted by a sign on the drive thru when changing hours. Sat there 15 minutes finally someone got on the speaker and said they werent opening until 7 am today. Who knew!

Dont take my review with credibility first off, Im not a coffee drinker. I went through the drive through for the lil lady passenger. My opinion, everything is overpriced. Of course, then again I weight lift and use supplements such as whey protien and creatine which are also over priced. Refer back to sentence 1 :-)

Fast service, even when it was very busy!

From 1:30pm till 2:10pm I stood in lobby on a Saturday because they lost my 2 drink orders along with the group in front of me. The manager blamed the system and moved on. Good business manners would have been a refund for waiting extended period from their mistake. I guess this place does not have good business manners. I will never reccomend this location. Didnt even want the drink afterwards because I was so upset about their lack of customer service.

Best service at any Starbucks Ive ever had

I love Starbucks and always go to this one. Id give it a 5 but today it was awful tasting. The girl asked if I was allergic to cinnamon I said no. I get my drink as a drive away my Carmel drink tasted like cinnamon yuck. She know she made a mistake and still gave it to me.

We asked for a junniper coffee latte and they gave us a vanilla latte coffe. We didnt realize about the mistake until we were driving and far from the shop. We understand they are very busy but we would like to get what if asked for.

I was sad to see its temporarily closed!

Dec 24, between 1 and 2 pm. Think there are 5 or 6 people working. Every trash can (literally) is full to overflowing, onto the floor in some instances. One restroom is out of TP, other is down to less than half a roll. Both are less than sparkling and fresh smelling. Tables havent been wiped in I dont know how long. Not a great first impression.

I frequently utilize the drive through at this Starbucks. It’s often very busy and the employees do a fantastic job. There have been a few instances where my drink order hasn’t been perfect but they are always friendly and make a new drink. I’m writing this review because of the outstanding customer service I received today! The vehicle in front of me ordered at least 5 venti frappuccinos. To my surprise Starbucks gave me my drink for free because the wait from the time I ordered my drink to the time I received my drink was over 10 minutes. The employee working told me this is their policy and would be providing the drinks for the individuals behind me at no cost as well. By no means was the longer wait Starbucks fault but it was an incredible gesture!

I have been a loyal Starbucks customer for well over 2 decades. However, this evening at this store, I had the most disgusting experience. As I got close to finishing my cold brew drink, a long hair made its way right through the straw. I wanted to throw up so bad. Gross. It will be while, may be never, before I visit this location.
