Didnt take my car here, took my Nissan to the group I bought the car used from in Boone. Pat Clemons is working on my car and immediately determined it was a brake sensor. This was dropped off Wednesday morning.They ordered the part from this dealership and they said they would get it to them in the afternoon. However, they sent the wrong sensor. So you would think they might prioritize getting the correct part to them today, now Thursday, but as of 3pm they have not made an attempt to correct the issue. So here I am without a car for now going to be a 3rd day, costing me $200/day in income that I need my car for. Pat Clemons did everything right. I sure as heck will not take my Nissan to this dealership if they cant even send the right part to another dealership.I see a lot of good reviews for inside help but full service to help other Nissan owners doesnt seem to interest them.
Been trying to get ahold of title department or service manager and never get a call back. Had my new car for 10 days and they misspelled my middle name, digitally applied for a tag in Iowa even though my address is in Minnesota. Would be nice to be able to drive the new car I bought.

I had not planned to purchase a vehicle when I walked in, but felt my needs were listened to and that I was given a great deal. As a first time new car buyer, I had a lot of questions that may seem silly to pros, but I never felt uncomfortable or talked down to with those whom I interacted with - which means a lot to me. Percy also took the time to walk me around the facility and showed me where I would come to have my vehicle serviced during my lease, and introduced me to some of the workers who would be helping me with that. Sales person was fine. The truck looked great (wait for it)...Once my transaction was complete, and I went home, they sent me emails of all of my documents containing both my wife and my personally identifiable information unencrypted and in the clear. Then, a few days into owning the vehicle I noted a crack in the windshield that started low near the hood in an easy to miss spot and started walking its way across the whole windshield. When I reported the issue, the response was sorry about leaking all of your information to every identity thief on the Internet - and sorry were not going to work with you on the windshield.Color me not happy.

Came in to look at a truck parked in their northeast lot. The guy had me walk over to the Honda part on the opposite end to try and get my information when all I wanted to do was look at the truck. Then he started to get an attitude when I said no, I just want to look at the truck. You cant tell me that you have every single person that walks the lot come in first. P%$$ poor way of doing business. Show the customer the vehicle they want and then get information. Waste of time.

Awful customer service. Very pushy and disrespectful. I bought a car from them and was told there was new front tires and they are not new. I was also promised two free oil changes for the car and I have never received those. I’ve texted and called the sales person I used and haven’t received a response. He was also supposed to check in with the past owners for an extra key and I haven’t heard about that either! I recommend you don’t buy a car from here. Go somewhere else where you’re a valued customer because they are out to get you here.

The worst car buying experience ever. Sales person only cared about his surveys and commission. I was deceived and lied to about options being on the truck when I bought it. This was a deal breaker for me. The day I picked it up, options are missing. But I had to pay for those options which I have to wait a month for. GM did nothing to resolve the situation. Will not contact me back. I want a refund in my options and oil changes as there is no way in hell I will go back there ever. I am a very loyal Nissan customer up until now.

Bought car from this dealership and it was a hassle getting 2 new tires and bumper done. It was supposed to have been done following week but it dragged for 2 weeks and I made number of trips to the dealership. I was promised they would put gas in my tank for making so many trips and that never happened either. I just wanted to be done with this dealership and didnt want to deal with them anymore. Would never buy a car from them again!!!
The worst auto repairing experience. This auto shop will charge you over $1000 for a valve replacement, I was out of town for a while at that time when my car was having a valve problem. Their specialist and manager only want to squeeze as much as possible from their customers. Definitely need to avoid this shop if you dont want to be over charged.

So I signed the agreement. after two days dealerships called me, can’t get the 90 days no payment only I can get 45 days. Dealership said called me back signed again the agreement.After three months I went back for the first time changing oil at the this dealership.I was sitting and waiting for the oil change. At the time,the car sales clerk came and picked me.Then for the third time signed again.I was angry.The dealership deceived the customer and did not explain why signed clearly.
Purchased 2012 Ford Explorer from them on 04/29/2021 and 2 days later there is freon leaking from the rear of the vehicle (vehicle has rear a/c). I got a hold of our salesman like he said to do and he was going to speak to his manager and 4 days later I am still waiting for them to contact me. I had my local repair man look at it and he told me it was the low pressure a/c line and where it traveled under the car which I shared with the dealership trying to help -- did I say 4 days later and I am still waiting for a response!! Enough said - I guess Kevin the used vehicle sales manager doesnt really care either.

They did an excellent job following Covid 19 guidelines. I felt very safe. When my car was ready the service manager was by my car on the ground. He said he wanted to take it back in as he saw something dripping (had an oil change and tire rotation for a very new car). When they brought it back out the service manager didnt talk to me instead it was a mechanic. They werent going to offer an explanation until I asked. They said oh we just didnt rinse off a spot where oil splattered and it was dripping. How am I to know if this is true? Why didnt the service manager come tell me? Couldve been handled better.
I took my 2018 rogue over for a recall update and told them I was also having problems with the heater on the drivers side. the Service guys were absolutely great in getting me set up with a time that worked for me! I took the car in and they got the recall fixed but said the heater was a major deal and they had to get parts. They ordered the parts, scheduled a time to return, gave me a vehicle to drive ( I live about 45 miles from the dealership) and told me they would call when the car was ready. They completed the work, as they said, called and I returned, picked up my car and it is working as it should. the service guys I dealt with there were great we have 2 Nissan vehicles and we will return to this dealership for all our service work!

I got my oil changed today. Other places will vacuum after they change oil, but that service isnt included and thats disappointing. I didnt receive my car wash coupon and my car smelled very strongly of grease. I had to leave my windows down to clear out the odor.

This was the best car-buying experience ( x 2!). Having never gone to buy a car before I was nervous. But my boys each needed a used car for work & school so I had to co-sign for them to get loans. Zac, the salesperson, went above & beyond helping us and making sure we got everything we needed. Aaron, the finance guy, made everything easy to understand. They didnt try to sell us anything we didnt need or want. On our second trip to get the second car, both Zac & Aaron made sure they were there again to give us the best customer service. My husband and I had the greatest experience ever! From the moment Billie came out of the door he was friendly and had a great smile and a hardy handshake. Billie was outstanding! He listened to everything I wanted and gave an excellent solution. Buy a new car! He showed us a 2012 Versa fully loaded and Nissan had a great incentive package. Billie worked very hard for us and respected my wishes of using either my credit union or Nissan for financing. The Finance Manager was great making several calls on our behalf - Thank you Scott and it was great to have the general manager of the dealership take time out of his busy schedule to celebrate my new vehicle with us. Ive never had a brand new vehicle ever but Billie (and definitely the Lord) made it all possible. Make sure you ask for Billie. He truly cares and gives you the bottom line on everything. I worked with Nicole and she was AMAZING!!! I wasn’t sure anything would work out given my trade wasn’t worth as much as I had hoped but she worked some sort of magic and was able to get me into a lease for a new murano. Not only did she do that but she made the whole process SO easy and I didn’t have to spend 8hrs of my day at a car dealership. She was super communicative and responsive, very professional and knowledgeable. As long as she is there I will be back at the end of my lease to roll into another one. Everything was clear and explained well and there were no surprises!

We found car easily enough. The team was very helpful. The frustrations came when we waited over an hour to spend 5 minutes signing papers and when walking between buildings a can of pop that had been sat out to cool exploded all over us, the salesman didnt seem to care.
Best car buying experience ever! Adolfo (sales) and Aaron (financing) were both wonderful to work with! After having a bad experience at a different dealership in Des Moines, I was a bit nervous walking in there. But they certainly exceeded my expectations! I wasnt very experienced with purchasing a used car, but not once did I feel pressured or taken advantage of. They were patient, honest, and willing to answer ALL my questions. For example, I told Adolfo I liked the 2016 Nissan Rogue we had test driven and I wanted to make sure monthly payments would be within my budget...hypothetically-speaking. He and Aaron sat down with me and figured up costs for all my potential options. Aaron recognized my concern for security -- meaning I didnt want to accidentally buy a bad car. (Ive heard all the horror stories about people needing major repairs a month after buying their new used cars, etc.) Well, Aaron offered to have the vehicle certified for free so I could get the discounted bumper-to-bumper warranty (should repairs even be necessary), plus gap coverage in case of an accident. It put my mind at ease knowing I wouldnt have to worry about potential repair bills for the next five-ish years while Im paying off the loan. Aaron also got me a better deal financing-wise than what my own bank had approved me for. He spent probably 1.5+ hours going over numbers with me. (And I was totally the reason it took so long because, again, I asked lots of questions!) But he was more than willing to invest the time to find me the best rate/deal, and I greatly appreciated it! In the end, I saw the monthly payments were going to be affordable. I knew I probably wouldnt find the same level of commitment to excellent service elsewhere, so I purchased the Rogue...and I am VERY glad I did! 👍

This was a very positive experience. My husband and I did not feel pressured or rushed into making any decisions. We actually took a whole week to test different vehicles with different dealers and visited Lithia 3 times before we decided to buy a Nissan. Mathew was a great salesman and was only interested in what we needed in our vehicle and finding something to meet those needs and make us happy.

The oil change took way longer than I was told. There was nobody around to find out if my car was done or where it was at. The cost of an oil change went. from $43 to $59. Why???
I had an appointment at 9:30am and was told when I made the appointment that it would take 2 hours. After almost 1.5 hours the tech told me they had gotten a hold of my extended warranty company and they could proceed with the work. He said my car would not be done until 2:30-3pm. I found a ride after an hour and half. I returned home at 1pm then received a call at that time that my car was done. I was not very pleased as I live 25 minutes away so I had to turn around and drive back to the dealership when I could have just waited until 1pm. I was not made aware of any of the mishaps on the time until it was too late for me to make other arrangements. I appreciated my car getting done earlier than 2:30-3pm but at the same time, I was told originally it would take 2 hours or would be done at 11:30am.
They walked me through the car buying process. Made sure I found a car I was happy with and even stayed after close to help me seal the deal. They were all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be recommending them to everyone.
I called to inquire about a Jeep Grand Cherokee and worked with Wayde who was courteous and helpful. He even went across the street in -17 degree weather to take extra pictures of the car for me. Unlike other dealerships I called to inquire about price, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the price I saw online was the out-the-door price. No handling or certification fees.

We had a spectacular leasing experience so far. Charles dealt with us straight, gave us no runaround, and provided an honest assessment of our options that reflected well on other independent reviews and guides. Under most circumstances, I expect that walking into a dealer provides an uphill battle to not be manipulated, but Lithia (and Charles in particular) was wonderful all the way around!
Dont work here unless they have removed the Flat-Rate System. Unless you like small paychecks for full 40 hour weeks
I have been taking my vehicles here for past 3 years, every time i walk out satisfied. You may spend more money on repairs but its all worth it. They have great team of service people over here specially Mel. Recently purchased a van from them and have only good things to say about the sales team. Overall I have absolutely no complaints about this Dealership and I am happy with them.

I purchased a 2013 Nissan mutant from a dealer in Pennsylvania in 2016. Drove it back to Marshalltown and love the car. Went to Lithia not having any experience with them. From the onset I have felt that since I didnt purchase from them that they didnt seem to have time for me. Sure there are nice people there such as Chris in the service dept. My point is on this car the clear coat started to peal off. Ask about this an Jeff sent Chis 3 times to tell me diff. Stories as to what would be done. Finally Jeff told me it look like it had been previously painted so I was out of luck as far as warranty. Instead of guiding or telling me he would try to assist me, he told me pretty much I was on my own. IF THEY WHERE EVER WANTING ME AS A CUSTOMER TO PURCHASE A NEW OR USED VEHICLE THEY JUST LOST ME AS SERVICE IS THE BIGGEST THING TO ME WHICH JEFF THE SERVICE MANAGER DID NOT DO. I FEEL THAT HE IS ON THE FRONT LINE AND GIVES A POOR REPRESENTATION OF YOU COMPANY.

The staff is not only honest and sincere but they worked to find us the very best deal possible, while I know they are in the business to make money they were able to help us save some as well. Very good service. I went in on a Saturday morning for an oil change (having purchased lifetime oil changes when I bought my car). They were fairly busy so I had to wait about an hour for then to finish, but they also did a free tire rotation.

Got to the dealership at 1:45 didnt get out till 5:45. Told them in advance when I would be there and what car I was interested in. Sales person kept disappearing with no explanation. Finally got to the paperwork and got out just to get a call a few days later saying they didnt have us sign the title so I had to go back and sign the title. Worst car buying experience I have had.

Buyer beware. I purchased a 2006 Ford Escape for my son, the staff was very pleasant and easy to work with. Less than 48 hours after the purchase and with only 150 miles on the vehicle, the transmission failed. As of this writing, 2 1/2 days since one of many phone calls, texts and emails, STILL NO reply from management, as I was promised. The car was sold as is and although in understand the concept of this agreement, 48 hours in and a major malfunction plus no calls from management is inexcusable.

When the salesman tries to pitch you their lifetime oil and says hell give you a refund at anytime if you cancel its a blatant lie. They will spend months not returning calls and tell you a refund is on the way when its not.
I leased a vehicle for several years and was convinced by the dealer to trade it back in and outright purchase a new vehicle. I warned them that there was a small dent in the door, and was told Dont worry about it! Everything will be taken care of! Well, one credit hit later and getting hounded by creditors for $800 that I owe for the dent and Im one unhappy customer. I tried talking to the owner of the dealership only to be basically told We screwed that up, maybe we can work something out. Well apparently not, because now my credit report shows that Im delinquent in paying off something that I should never have been charged in the first place.I do not recommend Lithia Nissan of Ames
General manager is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He acts like a dictator and abuses his authority. He seems really nice at first during the interview but views you like trash as time goes by. He is always talking about how important it is to make sure used cars are looking new. Then he gets upset when you put time and effort into the vehicles to make them meet his expectations. His argument is that we are wasting time and not having enough cars go through the shop. Which makes no sense because there are days when we have to ask if there are any vehicles to do. How does he expect a lot of vehicles to go through the shop, if they dont have vehicles to detail? I find it funny because he continues to hire more detailers when there is no work. How does he expect detailers to detail vehicles when they have no vehicles. Also, he changed the hourly wage to a flat rate because he doesnt want to pay his employees. I could write a book about his poor management, but Ive wasted enough time on this guy. Do not work here.

My name is aaron. We purchased a 2006 Honda Odyssey with 143,000 miles. We stopped in to buy a Honda Odyssey listed at $5600. After being sold on it we are told it needs a new timing belt $900. Shortly after driving 10 miles we start questioning tires which they claimed were just fine. I had asked twice during test drive and was assured tiresnwere safe . Tires were just barely 3/32 with bald spots. So we had to replace tires. they knew this was a family car and was being purchased shortly before winter. We were told tires would be ($3000) we ended up talking them down to $1750. Then during first rainstorm the windshield leaked. Now here I am a month and a half later and I find out they pulled my credit 3 times. I agreed to have pulled once at greater Iowa credit union They pulled my credit through not only greater Iowa credit union but also 2 other Banks Bmo Harris bank and VCu lendingSo I have a van that came to $9,000 after an initial price of $5600. $10,000 after you add their dealership costs. I believe They knew tires were expensive and were an issue. They likely knew of issues ranging from damaged bumper to leaking windshield. The timing belt being sprung on us after paperwork was started. The cherry on top is 3 hard inquiries lowers my credit score for 2 years. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HERE AGAIN!!!. Pass it on.
