After having some trouble with my financing, they still gave me the opportunity to call the financial institution the next day and held the car.Charles and Buddy made the whole car buying experience stress free. I had a couple issues, which is normal buying a used car and they took care of it, right then and there, no problem.These guys could not be any more laid back and easy going. It’s a different experience then other dealerships for which I’m grateful and I would definitely buy from them again.

I bought a 2013 VW Sportwagen from here about a week ago. After a week of driving my “new” used car I will say overall I’m really happy with car and has gave me little to no issue.My experience buying my car here was great. They let us test drive the car where I found a couple issues. When these issues were brought up after the drive, they listened and made good efforts to remedy the issues. They were willing to negotiate and were very polite and professional about it.They really impressed me with the financing options they offer. I say this as a college student with a part time job. The banks they work with approved of me and were flexible with payment options.I would recommend this place to any college student, who has good credit, or any young person looking to buy a nice used car that has a reasonable price tag.

Would not recommend buying a car from these guys to anyone. My dad and I bought a Nissan Altima with 60,000 miles from them a little over a month ago. Two weeks after buying the car the transmission completely went out. When I called the dealership they told me to get it towed to them and they would put a new transmission in it. I then had it towed back to Ames Cars (for $480). The next day Buddy called me and said that they would now only pay for half the transmission. He was incredibly rude when I ecpressed my frustrations. So now, I have not only been out almost $18,000, but an additional nearly $500, havent had a car for 3 weeks - having to pay to uber/lyft everywhere, and they still expect me to pay for half the transmission. Long story short... do not buy a car from Ames Cars. They will screw anyone over every chance they get - even a 17 year old like myself.

Bought a BMW from them, got it home and the AC fan sounds likes it’s full of rocks, brakes went out shortly after, basically ended up being a money pit since I bought it. Buddy made us sit there for hours waiting on papers that were supposed to take 15 minutes. Not impressed, took the Ames cars sticker off the bumper I’m embarrassed to have bought it there.

My experience with them was less than pleasurable, but they worked with me in the best way that they could at the time. At times they were rude on the phone, which could have been handled a lot better. At least try to work with you if something comes up. If you do decide to do business with them just make sure you do your research first. If you do have a bad experience, they will try to work with you which was really helpful.

Although I didn’t end up buying the car I looked at, the gentleman who helped me was very nice and knowledgeable. They let you take the car out to drive yourself which is nice.

This was a big deal to me because it was an “as is” sale and they did not have to cover anything. Although it was an inconvenience to not have a car, they did everything possible to ease the stress and burden, including offering me a vehicle to drive around until mine was ready! We purchased a Santa Fe from here last week. Before buying they replaced the brakes and changed the oil so everything would be ready to go. We drove north for the weekend and had the low oil pressure light come on. Come to find out, the oil pressure sensor needed replaced. These guys fixed it at no cost to us! We had nothing but a great experience from the guys here. They were very nice and went beyond what I think a normal used car lot would in terms of service after the purchase. I just had the best experience at AMES CARS. We financed through them and had us out of there within an hour. Corey (Finance MGR)is very knowledgeable and works hard for his customers. We bought a high mile Chevy suburban!!!! When we first test drove it we could tell that there was a check engine light on and the four wheel drive wouldnt engage properly. When we got back and talked to Corey about what was going on and he said its typical for a check engine light or a tire sensor to be on a high mileage vehicles. It was no problem to get it fixed and we found out that the 4 wheel drive was just that it had to be in neutral to be engaged!! If you are shopping for a vehicle definitely GO TO AMES CARS IF YOU WANT A DEALER TO MAKE YOU #1.

Gave them one star because I couldnt give them less. Bought a vehicle from them and it had issues later on the same night. After being given the run around for about a month I was told that when buying a used vehicle I should expect for there to be some things that needed fixing and also that when they purchase their vehicles to sell that they do not take a look at any of them. I was quoted at 1600$ worth of repairs to which he responded by saying that he drove the vehicle and that there was no way that the vehicle needed that much work done. He told me that the solution could be that he just stop selling affordable cars. Quaity, Honesty, Integrity, yeah right. Fooled me once but theyll never see mine or anybody elses business I know and I hope that you do your homework on this place. Wish Id read reviews before I gave them my money to take a piece of junk off of their hands.

My boyfriend and I had an appointment with buddy at 10am at the Ames cars place. We sat there till 10:30am and they still weren’t there and there was someone else waiting for service as well. Horrible.
