The best book store and location to buy stuffed animals. The staff are super helpful. I was running a little late for work and they helped me find what I needed super fast! 10/10 this is my safe place from the world.

The ever changing staff never seems to be educated on books. They are efficient retail sales people. If you just want to browse and find stuff by accident its a perfect store.

This is a very well stocked nice store. We enjoyed the stop and we stocked up on books for the rest of the trip.

Came in looking for a specific book. Layout of store allowed for easy shopping. Was able to find the book I was searching for easily.Even though I came for one thing, I couldnt help but look around at everything else. Kids section had lots of options for all ages.Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great customer service and the range of books to games was amazing. Felt much cozier than Barnes and nobles.

My daughter always finds exactly what she is looking for here. There hasnt been a single time that they didnt have what she wanted.

Everything is easy to find and the store clerks are very helpful.

Not this particular store but the website is fishy it rarely works and the 2 books we ordered from them have not arrived. After contacting customer service nothing was still fixed. I suggest going into the store and not ordering online.

Steven is absolutely fantastic to talk to! My husband, daughter and I went in at the beginning of the month and he is very friendly and helpful, our daughter looking at the crystals and not only was he knowledgeable about them, their uses and history of them but he was able to point her in the right direction to the other displays of stones, etc so she could decide. He was also able to help me figure out the mistake that was made when we were checking out so I wasnt overcharged. Thanks again Steven!! Well definitely be back in there again!

I think this store is fun. Ive been disappointed sometimes but recently they had a new book that I was planning on getting online right in front of me, so that was cool. This is the only store that has a magazine I like. The store clerks are so nice and with the stuff I got the other day with my bam book card it was almost seven dollars off. The books they have in the entranceway are fun to look at. I actually found one on my way out the other day, lol. Its a neat store. I really like to online shop, but its nice to give actual stores income as well.

Great little bookstore! Love the user dvd section. Huge selection at cheap prices, and you can return them if they don’t play!Also, the Joe Muggs coffee shop saved my Christmas then they were the only coffee shop in my town offering a gingerbread Frappuccino!

Selection is decent. Kids section is awesome for books and toys. Prices can be somewhat expensive compared to other bookstores.

They have a wonderful helpful staff, a great selection of book and periodicals, even hard to find periodicals. They provide a coffee bar and some places to sit and read as well.

I recently, took in my niece who was not interested even when we arrived. But after we left she said, she was surprized! She wants to return in the future!I alway spend at least two hours here. I love going here because theres so much fun stuff to look at, but I walk out without buying anything when Paul is at the cash register. He aggressively tries to sell you a membership every time you go there and acts offended and kind of snarky when you dont want to buy it. I just want to be able to go in and buy my stuff and check out. Ive heard this membership spiel 20+ times now and I tell them every time that I did pay for one once and didnt use it enough to justify it. Seriously, no means no. And please dont fall for the magazine scam. Theyve made it as tricky as possible to cancel.I would go here a lot more often if you stopped pushing the membership so hard, ironically enough.

Staff was very helpful. I was having trouble deciding in what section a book would be and she immediately, without a second thought, took me to the front and told me where it would be located.

Fun to walk around and look. Obviously... Things are cheaper online... But fun to look... Probably wont be here long... So get out there to buy any last minute gifts you need!

Really neat place to find in ames! Never heard of it before. But its like a barns n nobles. Has a ton of different things going on in it. Lots of games and toys. I loved the Edgar Allan Poe stand that they had. Found quite a few things I couldnt live without. I gave it a three stars because the prices were crazy expensive! A little plush toy that looked like a slice of pizza was $30. And thats kinda how it was through the store. When I asked for help on finding a book the staff seemed a little lost themselves! I love books and everything associated with them. But I also dont enjoy paying an arm and leg for them either.

They have lots of great deals right now better get in there and check them out....

Attended a book signing with our kids. Very well organized, enjoyable time. Have to travel a bit to get there, but love having a physical bookstore to shop.

Nice book sales and helpful staff. Theyre happy to show you where a book youre looking for is, and are friendly at check out. Theyll ask if youre interested in their members program but they dont push it when you say no thanks. Theres also a large selection of games, puzzles, shirts, and other trinkets for kids and adults.

I was a frequent customer and enjoyed the store. With my last purchase I received an offer of two months of magazines free at check out, all I had to do was circle on a paper which magazines I wanted to receive. Seems great! However, I was not told that I was being enrolled in a magazine subscription service that would have cost me about $200 dollars a year in magazines if not cancelled after 2 months. While I was able to cancel in time, it was a very long cancellation process and the company seemed like a scam to me as they tried to bribe me with other offers three times before cancelling my unwanted subscription.

Its a smaller book store with a big boon store feel. Lots of other stuff that give it a funky feel (in a good way!).

The prices are out of this world high! Wanted a book on wood working and a magazine on long range shooting. Found them and I didnt leave with them! Long Range shooting by Gun digest (29.99) for a magazine? Go anywhere else and its no more than 10 Dollars. For the book on wood working by DK (40.00)! Heck even Barnes and Nobles was cheaper at (23.00)! Some mark-up is understandable but yours is crazy! I even asked if there was a mistake in pricing and was told no! I asked the person behind the counter if they bought books here and guess what they said, NO! Asked why and just got a smile. Sorry but we wont be back! Price check anything you pick up here and hold on to your shorts!

Love this place! They have a little of everything including movies and toys. Their Young Adult Book section is huge! And they have a ton of Harry Potter merchandise if you are in the market for that. Also, there is a coffee shop inside that serves all kinds of drinks.

The staff is awesome and you can find rare books ans dvds for really good prices and i think the little section up front with the room sprays, crystals and journals is really cute

This place is amazing. It has everything. Not only books but comics and magazines and coloring books and dvds and music and records. And it has so many different topics of books. I am sure that anyone can find something if not a bunch of stuff to buy. My husband and I spend hours in this store looking at everything.

BAM is a wonderful book store. They have just about anything for everyone. I also love the little drink bar with coffee, tea or even hot cocoa.

I made a fabulous Discovery here. One can get a great cup of espresso prepared by a very conscientious barista. Try the cortado!

BAM always has a great selection and friendly staff. Their prices are comprable to any other big box book store and they stay up to date on major new releases. Their merchandise section and board games far surpass other chain bookstores. The staff here are always happy to talk about books and recommend their favorites if you ask, or just point you in the right direction.

Great selection of books. Almost every genre is available.If there is a new release, you may not find it on the shelf if its part of a series. I went in for the fifth book in a series and had to ask the person at the register. It was in two places, neither of which was with the rest of the series.That being said, the staff was extremely helpful. They are always nice when I go in.

A spacious bookstore with coffeeshop; excellent for gift-giving. They have a large selection of things other than books as well: magazines, musics, board games, party games, nerd games, comics, memorabilia, knickknacks, calendars, and puzzles. Many items are on sale, as well, making shopping on a budget pretty reasonable.

Ames is lucky to have a general bookstore that carries a wide variety of titles and boasts a friendly coffee shop, too. I find the discounts generous and more than cover the annual membership cost.

I had such a great time at Books-A-Million today. It was my first time visiting there. I was impressed with their selection of books and other items. I got the cutest little gudetama keychain while I was there. Freddi was so super friendly and helpful. He was doing a really great job of running the store while clearly understaffed.
