You can barely walk through this place and prices are way too high for what is there. Items are stacked on top of each other for years. Dont waste your time stopping.

This place is amazing! Antiques and all the plants you could ever want in one place. They have so much stuff its hard to see everything and so many plants of so many varieties that I felt like a kid in a candy store. The owner is a lot of fun. Hes very knowledgeable and super helpful. Its going to be a regular stop whenever Im in Ames from now on.

Yes, the isles are narrow but only because there are so many plants and antiques! Just look where you’re going and you’ll be fine.Yes, some prices are a little higher than big chain companies. I’d much rather support a local business.Plus, I’ve never seen so many plants before! There were succulents, cacti, and other plants I’ve never seen in another store let alone in person ever. Very unique stuff.I got a great deal on a beautiful snake plant that I would’ve had to order off amazon because nobody else carries them. The owner even centered the plant for me without asking.I also purchased a couple beautiful old books for $1 each, and a unique plant holder for $10.Honestly, I’m not sure why some people Aileen to be so critical of this place. I can’t wait to go back!

It maybe not a well organized antique store, since the place is not quite big enough for so many things and the owners are not that young to move those things easily. But it’s definitely a great place to get plants especially succulents. I bought from them several times, the owners put their hearts to those plants, their plants are pretty and healthy. The best of all was they always being very friendly on teaching me how to take care of each plant. They also helped me planting the plants into my personal planters which was really nice.

It was a really cool and unique place. I bought a plant there for about $20 and I brought it home to find many different species of bugs!! Very disgusting and terrifying!

I love stopping into places like this and looking for the perfect treasure to take home. However, this place is insane! I dont doubt there are some amazing finds here but the prices are OUTRAGEOUS! We attempted to purchase a couple of items and the owners were not willing to negotiate at all. No wonder there is so much stuff in there...they probably never actually sell anything! Its also extremely hard to walk around in due to the amount of stuff piled everywhere. Ive honestly never seen anything like it. Wish I could say we had a positive experience but unfortunately we did not and I do not recommend wasting your time here.

Was rolling through the area so thought we would swing in and take a look. A lot of junk but understand why there is so much... the prices are insane for what they are selling!!! enamel tea pot, typical antique store $10.. ames antiques $35 for example...I can go on and on. owner stated they dont negotiate on pricing... which comes back to why you have so much rust sitting around. I would not stop by this place if your shopping in the area.

My mouth dropped when I walked in. I spent easily 3 hours here looking at all the unique plants and pots. The owner was so nice and helpful when answering my questions. I would encourage anyone in Ames to come and check it out. Highlight of my weekend in Ames.

Nearly every plant has scale or mealy bugs, so quarantine is a MUST. Also heard one of the owners hastling a customer over wearing a mask during the current pandemic. Huge selection of items but everything is priced very high. Very narrow walkways with risk of knocking things over.

This store brings character to Ames. Youll likely find a treasure if youre willing to spend the time looking; the antique and vintage wares are piled high and deep, and the plants are healthy and present in charming variety. If you need to make a quick visit (lack time for browsing), require wheelchair access, or dislike old things or clutter, this may not be the store for you. But if you enjoy the thrill of searching for a hidden antique gem or the perfect little succulent, do yourself a favor and give yourself an hour to wander the aisles and the connected greenhouse.

If you like a adventure in hunting antiques this is your place! Piled high and narrow walk ways makes this place a little more fun. Suggest bringing a good flashlight. Pretty firm on prices but I did get discounts on certain items. I will go back.

To say the store is incredibly crowded is an understatement. And crowded is one thing, but it’s the prices that get me. I don’t mind surfing through piles to find some low priced gems, but, for example as I was looking through a rack of old coffee mugs many of them were priced at $5+. Thats just one example of them pricing trash items at treasure prices. The greenhouse is nice to look through and is more organized — however I have heard not great things about what happens when you take the plants home. This would be such a great option for Ames, but needs some serious work.

So much stuff! A little hard to walk around, and the price tags nearly gave me a heart attack. But a cool hidden gem of Ames if you want to walk through and see a large collection of antiques and plants .

Many tight places..and tons of things. Others complained about organization but all like things were together. Lots of garden items too. Many healthy and unusual varieties of plants. Friendly but not too negotiable. I will return.

Its more a junk yard than an antiques store. Things are overpriced, and everything is dusty and dirty.
