Wonderful place, one of a kind.
My aunt and I stayed here a couple nights. I enjoyed: the communal meals (a bit awkward at first, but we quickly felt welcomed); exploring the property (there are resident cats and chickens, gardens, and many acres of pecan groves and general wildness); and all the products they peddle (chocolate bark, pecan brittle, and peach-nut bread, coffee, pecan butter, etc). I also got a kick out of finding a chicken pecking around outside porch! Seemed like there wasnt much happening in January, but I could see their missions of land stewardship and inclusivity are going strong. Very welcoming place, but Id recommend one of the cottages further back on the property, as Hwy 49 can be quite loud.
We visited as traveling through and they welcomed us to have lunch with them. Good basic food and plain, genuine people there. Also food products and books on social change and spiritualit for sale in the gift/craft shop.
This is a great place to visit and to learn the history of. Dont leave without buying some chocolate or date nut bread. They make the best!
Honored to visit this historic, beautiful farm! Koinonia Farm inspired significant social change and housing programs for our country..beyond also producing some delicious farm fresh treats !
We enjoyed. Great retreat. Great birding.
I learned about this farm on Airbnb as they had it listed as one of their experiences as a tour and social impact experience. It worked into our travel plans so we went the Friday after Thanksgiving and enjoyed it.We both really liked the tour and learning how their pecans are processed and then hand sorted. We enjoyed our lunch and met some interesting people. We then watched the documentary about the history of the farm. It is an interesting place and I had no idea that it is also where Habitat for Humanity was founded. We spent the last hour helping in the bakery by stuffing dates with pecans. We both got to sample one when we were done and they were quite tasty and healthy too.We got to see the rooms that are available for rent in The Fuller House. Also saw the Library which has a nice Children’s section, the kitchen and the shipping dept. Everything was clean and well run. We plan to go back in the spring when we can stay for a few nights. So glad to have found this special place. Also glad to know they have rooms for rent.
Beautiful, calm, quiet and kind with tasty food. Hard to beat that. Also, I saw a beautiful, large red fox from about 20 feet last time I was there
Wonderful place to meet those of all faiths in a Christian setting. Peaceful and lovely. Wonderful people and great hospitality.
I interned here in 2015 and went back to visit in 2018. The community is very welcoming, the accommodations are quite comfortable and the land is very picturesque. Come for a day or a lifetime!
Sorry. Susie Stepps mere four stars was me on her phone. So this is her five. And the farm is wonderful. The pecan stuff is addictive. Check out the catalog.
Today was a tribute to a wonderful man, Millard Fuller, who was the founder of Habitat for Humanity and the Fuller Center for Housing on the 10th anniversary of his passing on to be with our Lord. I felt very inspired after hear the comments about his life and doing for others.
I make the trip to Koinonia from Texas twice a year. Perfect for recharging my spirit and reconnecting to nature.
Koinonia Farm has the best pork & bacon in the whole Americus/Albany area. Theyre out in the middle of nowhere but its worth the dirve. Their meat is DELICIOUS and they raise their animals out in the open air instead of in pens with concrete floors. I also heard this kind of meat is better for your heart. Its definitely the tastiest meat youll find around here.
Learn about the birth place of Habitat for Humanity and the Christian community founded by Clarence Jordon. This is Where Millard Fuller started it all.
The store provides a variety of home grown items at good prices. The staff members are very friendly.
