My experience has been profoundly impactful. I have experienced back pain for almost 10 years. At the beginning of this year I decided to train for my first 5k. It was discouraging because running aggravated my back. My treatment with Dan was nothing short of a miracle! And no, I am not being compensated or begged for a review, this is my true experience. In short, I decided to give acupuncture a shot since the Western medicine route to cure me would have involved cutting ligaments in both arms at both my elbows and wrists.The back story- I injured myself installing two levels of laminate floor in early March 21. I use a computer for a living and figured this would be a fun project to take on. After all of the banging of the floor planks which I am not used to, both of my hands and wrists caught on fire for 3 or 4 nights - the pain was unbearable and it felt like my hands would explode. Heat, cold, movement, aspirin - nothing helped. I went to a local sports medicine doctor and he gave me some steroids and anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as some braces - the pain stopped but suddenly my fingers were numb constantly. I decided to get a 2nd opinion since I didnt feel like the first doctor was giving me proper attention, and after doing an EMG/NCS study (a test that includes intense zapping on both arms, and putting needles in my muscles and moving them around to listen to them), the 2nd doctor was guessing that I had cubital tunnel syndrome AND carpal tunnel syndrome in BOTH arms! This would have involved 4 permanent surgeries, none of which have great statistical outcomes (were talking 50-50 shot of success).I wanted to exhaust all of my options before agreeing to surgery - change of diet, stopping nearly all activities that could aggravate the problem (doing dishes, typing), and PT exercises; but the problem actually began getting worse. The 2nd doctor then suggested I go see a spine surgeon because it may be an issue with a nerve in the cervix in my neck... Not satisfied with that answer, I came to grips with the idea of alternative medicine.Anyway, I am -PETRIFIED- of needles, even the thought of having one in the same room as me is too much to handle. But I booked the appointment, got in the next day, and justified it by saying that this would be far easier than surgery. Dan was very cool & collected, knowledgeable, and experienced. After I went through my story with him, he noticed that the muscles in my forearm were very tense and that he thought that by relaxing them, it would ease up on the compression on the ulnar and median nerves - and we got directly into treatment. OK- I was very nervous, and getting needles stuck in me was pretty uncomfortable. After the treatment was done, I went home and felt pretty lousy, I was tired, sore all over, and wasnt able to focus. But then the miracle occurred... I woke up the next day, all of the soreness was gone, but so was the numbness! I figured this has to be a fluke, since Ive been suffering for 4 months now. Just over 2 weeks after my one treatment, Im happy to report that my fingers have not gone numb - NOT ONE TIME! - and Im able to do things like weed-wack (which I could no longer do because it was so painful), hammer, do the dishes, lift heavy things, or whatever I want. I have poured over this to see if it had something to do with a change of activity, diet, maybe rest, but no, the difference went from constant numbness a varying set of fingers on both hands one day, to no more numbness the next.If youre like me and facing a questionable, extensive and costly procedure, do yourself the favor and give this a try first. As an engineer, I do not understand how TCM works (and honestly thought it was a little crazy), but I am now a firm believer that this is a wonderful alternative to Western medicine, and will recommend anyone going through unusual medical issues to go see Dan first.

After having no relief from a cortisone shot and 20 visits of physical therapy, I am finally finding some relief from an unknown injury to my foot/leg. Dr. Clark has been so helpful, explaining the procedures and answering all of my many questions. I have been surprised at the effect of the herbal teas and the breathing techniques I have been taught. His office is peaceful and in a convenient location. Sherry, his office manager, is a delight. When I called for my first appointment she immediately put me at ease and helped me get set up for my first appointment. I give my full recommendation.

My body doesnt respond well to western medicine so on my hormone and fertility journey I have been utilizing other methods. My feminine cycle was unpredictable and unhealthy for over ten years and is now becoming more regular like it used to be in high school because of my weekly accupuncture visits, healthy diet, and high quality suppliments. Hopefully we will have success with a pregnancy soon.

I had COVID-19 back in March (the 12th person in Utah county to be diagnosed). After thinking I was mostly better mid-April, the symptoms reappeared and I suffered my first relapse on May 4. My relapse included a fever, joint pain, increased cough, headache (almost all of the original symptoms, although just for a few days). I had another June 1 and again at the end of June. It was then that I realized it was trending every 28 days and correlated to my monthly cycle. My doctor said western medicine tells us viruses dont act this way, they dont keep coming back like this. It was this comment that made me think I needed to try something that wasnt western medicine so I set up my acupuncture visits. Since starting I have not had another relapse, today is day 56 of being healthy!

Well, it seemed promising, and I would have loved to give a better rating....if only they got back to me on at least ONE of my 3 attempts to schedule an appointment :(I tried to schedule online, I sent an email, tried calling, and even left a voice mail, all over the course of 2 weeks.

Id been fighting a terrible neck and shoulder problem for years. Massage relaxed the area but it came right back. The chiropractor never got results. My physician wanted to make an incision in the muscles to relax them... Dr. Clark was able to do what nobody else could. After 5 visits, I no longer flare up, I have full range of motion, and Im in better spirits.Dr. Clark was kind, knowledgeable, and a joy to work with. Dr. Clark has been incredibly helpful, compassionate, caring, and professional with my acupuncture treatments. I started seeing him at about 3.5 weeks pregnancy after suffering two previous losses. I’ve been seeing him twice a week and recently changed to once a week. I’m over 16 weeks now and will continue to see him throughout my pregnancy and beyond. Being in a supportive environment and to know I’m not only taking care of my baby, but also my body, and mind has been great. I am grateful to have found him and his practice. My husband and I had tried for a long while to get pregnant, and I read online that acupuncture can help with fertility. So without knowing much about acupuncture, I decided to give it a try. Dr Clark made me feel comfortable and optimistic about what acupuncture can do. He answered all my questions and included herbal treatments based off of what I was needing. I did treatment from Oct-Dec and got pregnant in January! He has done a lot of fertility research and can definitely help in your journey!

I went in for shoulder pain and it really worked. I had several visits left as I had purchased a package so I asked if he could work on my knee. I had been injured in a motorcycle accident in 1997. I had one area the size of a quarter that was so tender I didnt want to wear jeans. I would protect the area when my grandchildren might bump it. For years I couldnt knee. In the beginning Id had three spinal blocks in an effort to make the pain go away. Pain medication did not help as Id been told it was sympathetic nerves that had been damaged. Nothing changed the pain so I just lived with it. What did I have to lose I thought when I asked for treatment on my knee. After the treatment I went out to my car and started pressing on my knee. I couldnt believe it. I could press on the spot and it did not hurt. I was so happy. I was pain free after years and years. Im a believer.It is a very pleasant office. The treatment is about an hour. The needles (very small) are placed. You then lie there and listen to peaceful music. I almost fall asleep during each treatment. If you are going to try acupuncture this is a great place to experience it.

I’ve never written an online review until this week but want to give a shout out to Dan. He healed plantar fasciitis in one of my feet, quickly resolved pain after back surgery (I felt pain free within 10 min—fell asleep there in the treatment room I felt so much better), and bonus—I haven’t had a migraine since I started seeing him. I have Dan Clark at Lotus Spring Acupuncture to thank for getting me well and back to work after a painful back injury. I herniated a disc in my back this past June and went on short-term disability for work. The pain was excruciating--the herniation had affected my sciatic nerve and as a result my whole right leg was numb for about three weeks. I rested, did light water-aerobic exercises and physical therapy, but after two months it was still healing so slowly and I was still experiencing intense numbness and pain, especially at night. I needed to get back to work, but didnt know what else I could do to help the healing process. Dan is a very gifted acupuncturist. I spent two days installing a new roof and by the time I was done, I could not feel my toes on my right foot. I had my knee scoped over a year ago and have been in pain and have had difficulty performing my normal tasks. I had tried injections, having my knee drained and physical therapy. I lost my ability to taste food. I could not taste for over 9 months and doctors couldnt help. Finally a co worker told me to go to a acupuncturist. I found Mr. Clark and a day after my first treatment I could start tasting food again. 12 weeks later my taste has fully returned. Im now having some other issues dealt with. I was very skeptical but no longer.

I was having horrible back pain. I had been to the chiropractor, multiple deep tissue massages, motrin around the clock, icing my back, Epsom salt baths, and everything in between. I was struggling with a hip/knee injury mainly brought on from running for a few years. I tried physical therapy and didnt experience much relief. I have experienced anxiety for several years and the last year have experienced IBS. After doing some research about acupuncture I decided to see if it would help ease my symptoms. Having acupuncture done at Lotus Springs has helped me so much I only wish I had done it sooner! Leaving an appointment I feel I have more energy and my mind is clear. It took a month of 2 appointments a week for my IBS to get in control but I felt like it helped my anxiety from the begining. Sometimes I do get nervous having the needles put in even though it doesnt hurt, I always leave feeling so good. The service is great!

I train in martial arts and my hips were popping from all of the kicks I have to do. The popping was very painful and I needed relief. I went in for an appointment with Dan and was amazed at how much it helped. My hips stopped hurting. This place is great - Ive been going here for at least 2 months now and, while I rarely post reviews, I cant recommend this place enough. I have suffered from digestive issues for the past 2 years and have tried many treatments and therapies. Nothing had ever worked for me until I found Dan at Lotus Spring Acupuncture and Wellness. Since I have been attending acupuncture with him, my symptoms have gone from a 10 to maybe a 2 in terms of frequency and intensity. I will continue treatments here for any future ailments.Give it a shot. It is affordable and most importantly it works!

Sorry in advance for the long review, but when you have a real positive experience youre anxious to share the details. Hopefully my experience can help someone else.Ive suffered from allergies (many kinds including rag weed, sagebrush, weeds in general, grass, dog, cat, and dust mites to name a few) for 24 years (started when I was 13, Im now 37). Ive done allergy shots for the last 13 years and although they helped (without them I was unable to function), the plan was to stop after 5 years and be free from allergies as my body was supposed to stop reacting to what I was allergic.A year ago I switched jobs, which caused a switch in insurance, which caused me to switch allergy doctors. The new allergy doctor was not good at all and my allergies got out of control. I couldnt breathe at night except through my mouth, I was extremely congested, I sounded nasally when I talked, I kept coughing up flem, and I was miserable.My wife saw a sign at Dr. Clarkes office at Lotus Spring Acupuncture saying acupuncture could help with allergies. She told me about it and I was immediately interested as I wasnt getting any relief since using this new doctor and I was tired of putting toxins in my body from allergy shots. It was time to stop the shots.I met with Dr. Clarke and asked him how acupuncture could help with allergies. He explained to me that my allergies were a result of a weak lung and weak kidneys. He said that when those organs are weak, the immune system kicks into high gear and reacts to pollen and other things in the air that it thinks are bad, but are not really. He said that the acupuncture treatment tells the mind and body where there is injury to the lung and kidney and the body then begins the healing process. He also talked to me of Qi, meridians, and other important acupuncture concepts that I didnt fully understand at the time.I was skeptical, but hopeful and desperate, and yet intrigued at the explanation. He said I needed at least 10 treatments as it takes time to heal. I thought it may just be a sales tactic, but again it made sense and I wanted to give it a shot, so I signed up.On the 1st treatment he treated the symptoms (stuffy nose, congestion) and he said in later treatments he would treat the cause of the problem (lung and kidney). I noticed immediate results, after he put some needles in my cheeks, forehead, and nose my nasal passages started to clear up. The 1st treatment lasted an hour and I felt significantly better. He asked me to come twice a week and I would notice better and quicker results (again I thought that was another sales tactic, but it turned out to be great advice).Ive now been 11 times and for the first time in 24 years I can consistently breathe through both nostrils day and night, its an amazing thing for someone who cant remember how great that feels. My allergy symptoms (itchy eyes, itchy nose, congestion) have gone from a 10 (being the worst) to down to a 1 (very minimal). The congestion has left my face, nasal passages, sinuses, etc; my whole face feels and looks thinner. I am extremely happy and grateful to Dan for doing this practice and providing a holistic healing that works way better than taking shots or medicine. I highly recommend Dan and his practice.

After experiencing many years of pain in my spine and left side of face due to a trauma biking accident I became very frustrated and began having other health problems manifest because of my weak spine, etc. After trying all kinds of strategies to feel better, alternative pain medicines, eating better, yoga, massage, chiropractic, etc. All of them benefitted me in some small ways but nothing seemed to tip the scale or really give me a lasting benefit.Long story short, I decided to try a session or two of acupuncture and was mainly curious just by default of stripping away the many strategies I had already tried and if acupuncture would even work for me. After my first session I noticed a feeling of clarity and that the pain had subsided. This was an amazing experience for me. I decided after a few more sessions that my body was responding well and the doctor was great at being intuitive and trying his hardest to help my ailments. I have seen improvements probably up to 70% and I am very confident that I will be restored to my health goals in the near future. I feel so much better and much happier as well. Oh yea, after realizing how well it was working for me, I had him create a package for me that he later dubbed “the emperor’s package” I bought a large package in bulk to cover me for a few months and beyond! I get the best rest here! He seems to know just what I need-- acupuncture has helped my knee, hip, digestion, sleep, mood, stress, immune system and ears. And it works so quickly!!

Dan is AMAZING! No other way to put it. He is seriously a miracle worker! When I first went to Dan a month and a half ago, I had chronic UTIs, chronic yeast infection, painful and long periods, sleep problems, an injured back, had had digestive problems for the past year and a half and had been feeling very moody and unhappy for the past 6 months. I had tried everything to help, and I was slowly making progress, but I didnt know if I would ever actually be pain free again.I saw Dan 2x a week for 4 weeks, and I was like a new person at the end of those 4 weeks. Everything I had been suffering from was almost completely gone! I was able to get out of bed every day and was happily pain free.I went from a pain level of about 8 and almost constant, down to a 2 and an occasional pain in 4 weeks! Now, a month and a half later, my utis, yeast infection, back pain, moodiness, and digestive issues are gone! The pain that used to accompany my periods is now almost gone, and they are getting shorter and much lighter. Every time that time of the month comes around, it becomes much more bearable and less painful. I sleep well now, and I also dont sleep for 14 hours anymore. I sleep about 8 hours every night and wake up feeling very refreshed.Dan has always been very kind and gentle and always a great listener. Everything I have asked him, he has been more than willing to help me feel better. I recommend him highly to everybody I know all the time now whenever someone tells me about a health problem they are experiencing. Seriously, if you have any kind of problem, go to Dan. Youll start feeling better right away! He is the best and you wont regret going to see him. I dont recommend people very frequently, but Dan is worth it! I feel so blessed that my mom heard about Dan and suggested we go try him out. He was an answer to prayers!

At the age of 19 I was diagnosed with cmv which settled in the lining of my heart. As a result I have chronic fatigue and extreme chest pains when the virus acted up. Being 25 and sitting in cardiologist waiting rooms I got many funny looks from the other patients who thought I was too young and healthy looking to be there. For the first time in in 6 years I now do not show any systems of fatigue or chest pains. I went to lotus springs with a unique case, I had Bells palsy. A sickness that actually causes the nerves in the face to be completely un responsive, and I could not use the left side of my face! Dan educated me about the benefits of acupuncture and different techniques. I receieved acupuncture for 2 weeks and with every treatment seen more improvement. Through the day I am a programmer and at night I teach Yoga. Being a programmer, I rely on my wrists and fingers to work properly and I put a lot of stress on them every day programming. In the evenings I can feel the effects of this stress as I demonstrate various postures in my Yoga classes. The most obvious being my right wrist locking in poses such as Downward Facing Dog or Chaturanga.Over the last three years Ive had Dan treat me for two different repetitive stress injuries to my right wrist. The first time, a conventional doctor wanted to put me in a wrist brace for six weeks and then begin physical therapy. I decided to try acupuncture first and that is when I first met Dan. I did not use the brace nor did I have therapy. Acupuncture completely healed the wrist and Ive never felt another twinge of pain from that injury.The second injury was just last month to the same wrist but the other half of it—the first one affect my thumb and the second my pinky. Because I didnt wait as I did with the first injury, the treatment went very quickly. The pain in my wrist was so strong that it would wake me two or three times a night but now I have absolutely no pain and my wrist feels very strong. I also experience no more wrist locking in any of my Yoga poses.When I first went to Dan, I was very skeptical and I absolutely hated the idea of being pricked with needles. I still dont care much for needles but my own experiences with acupuncture have absolutely proven to me that is a very effective treatment. I highly recommend it and especially recommend Dan as a very skilled acupuncturist.

I was dealing with a stiff/painful neck that made it hard to move. I had never tried acupuncture before so I had no idea what to expect. First off, I hate needles and I was happy to see I didnt even notice when the needles went in. After the session, my neck literally loosened up immediately and I saw quick progress by the next day and in no time my neck was back to normal. The thing that impressed me was how quickly my neck loosened up. I definitely recommend this business.

I first found Lotus Spring Acupuncture about a year ago when I was having sciatica issues but never called, but this last August 2017 I finally did call and I am sooo glad I did!! Dan is and has been so helpful, I was having really bad sciatic pain, since about April 2017 I was seeing a chiropractor for months but my left leg was somewhat numb but the nerve pain I was feeling in my left leg just kept getting worse and it was affecting everything in my life, I couldnt even sit without being in pain. I was so glad I finally called Dan it took about 6 or 7 visits to notice a big difference but so worth it!!! Its like cutting down a tree a little bit at a time, I was living on Tylonal every 5-6 hours and had taken a few heavier pain killers before I found out I was pregnant. All in all I am so grateful for Dan and his amazing work he really was able to help me feel normal again, he also helped with the pregnancy symptoms and morning sickness too.. Anyone who has been in pain for a long period of time knows how hard it is not to get depressed and angry all the time and how it can take its toll on your family as well. Dan is great! He treated me during infertility treatment and waa able to help with hot flashes, headaches, vertigo, sleep and much more. It was very relaxing. Im now expecting twins.

Dan is masterful healer in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicinal herbs (TCM). He diagnosed and treated my multiple issues in a matter of a few sessions: Allergies, sleep trouble/fatigue, headaches, and irritability of various degrees of severity. Several major improvements beyond these direct issues were also healed as a consequence of his treatment and advice. I can not recommend him highly enough.

I have been bothered with shoulder and back pain and headaches after a dirt bike crash in 2002. After trying medication, physical therapy, massage and other methods I finally discovered Dan at Lotus Springs! I was training for the Tough Mudder and my body was not being very corporative so I decided to give acupuncture a shot. I was a skeptic at first but the results have been undeniable. I was was able to train for and participate in the event. I was working with Dan twice a week for several weeks until my body responded and now I am working with Dan once a month in a maintenance mode. My pain used to be a daily occurrence and my physical activity was limited. I now rarely have any pain and am able to enjoy being more physical. Thank you Dan and Lotus Springs!!

I would highly recommend Dan for acupuncture. Im seeing him for fertility/stage 4 endometriosis, my pain is pretty constant from the endo. I have regular bloating painful breasts after ovulation. I have been seeing him for just over a month and my pain is almost entirely gone and I have had no bloating, no sourness, this first cycle through. My menses this month was better than I can remember, I truly couldnt believe it. I have also lived with a chronic migraine for 5 years, that he has been able to make the pain manageable and I have gone days with out even having it. Oh and a bonus my varicose veins are going away.

I went to Dan for pain in my hip and lower back. I saw an improvement after my first treatment and while the pain isnt totally gone, the improvement is about 85 to 90 percent after 10 sessions and Im feeling so much better. Dan is professional and caring and I highly recommend Lotus Springs.

Dr. Clark has been an amazing help in our lives. He truly cares for his patients, he is very professional and his knowledge is far beyond what you would spect. He has helped my family with tons of issues that regular doctors just want to pump you up with chemicals, he finds an alternate rout and actually fixes the problems chemicals cannot fix. Ive had cronic neck issues for over 4 yrs Ive also have severe Gerd. Dan has helped me way more than any regular doctor has to the point that Ive been able to siginficantly decrease the amount of medications I had to take in order to feel a little better. My pregress with Dan has been nothing short of a miracle. And I will continue to work with Dan until Im 100%..He has also helped my wife when she had bells palsy when she was 8 months pregnant half of her face was paralized, Dan was alble to get her back to normal within a week and a half of trearment. I loved everything from start to finish at Lotus Spring Acupuncture. Dan and his staff are so caring and Dan is very knowledgeable. They called me several times throughout to check in and see how I was feeling. I started treatments specifically for infertility/IVF. I definitely felt like it helped a ton! My first time doing IVF I didnt do acupuncture. The second time doing IVF I started acupuncture treatments a month or two before and continued throughout the whole process. I felt so much better while on the fertility meds and responded way better to the meds than the first time. I am happy to report that I now have a healthy one year daughter and I feel strongly that acupuncture helped make that happen! I also did a few treatments after I found out I was pregnant and the treatments helped so much with nausea and pregnancy headaches.

After experiencing a misscarriage I had a hard time trying to conceive again. I had six months of negative pregnancy tests, and my cycle was way off, so I decided to give Dan a call. Within the first month of seeing Dan twice a week, I finally had a positive pregnancy test. After a couple of months of going to accupuncture, I also noticed that my digestive system seemed to be working better. Come to find out, the treatments that Dan had been giving me were to heal and boost my kidneys and liver which play a major roll for the reproductive organs. These organs also correlate with digestion which explained my feelings of less bloating and cramping after eating. I feel like I got a two for one deal going to Dan. I now have my 9 year old son going to see Dan for his severe seasonal allergies. After two weeks of treatments, my son is no longer on claritin or any other allergy medication. He feels less congested and also noticed a difference in his running ability for sporting events. We are major fans of Dan in our household and would recommend him to anyone we know.

I went to Dan to assist with fertility treatments. We were planning to do our 4th round of IVF in September and so I started going for weekly treatments 4 months earlier. I hate needles but I was able to relax once they are all put in and I usually take a little nap during treatments. I saw progress in regulating my cycle some but during the IVF cyle I noticed that my eggs were growing at a better rate. We got the most amount of eggs out of any cycle and had a decent fertilization rate. We put in three embryos and got a positive blood test this week with very high levels along with my hormones which were very low last time around. I believe that Acupuncture helped my body respond better to the drugs and keep my hormone levels up where they should be. Dan is good about listening to how you are feeling and changing things up when they need to be. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that is looking for help with fertility.

Who knew Acupuncture could work on Morning Sickness?! Well, Dan did.Im pregnant and expecting twins. At 13 1/2 weeks, my morning sickness got worse than it was with either of my two previous children (12+ bouts in less than 48 hours). I was just trying to keep calories down. All my Facebook friends suggested meds (Zofran). Because of an antigen issue I have when Im pregnant (my blood type doesnt match up with the fetus), I was worried about doing anything that could add to the issue of my body rejecting the babies-so meds was not an option I would consider. I went into see Dan after that terrible 48 hours. He was very up front that I would probably need more than one treatment and I appreciated his honesty. While I have only had that one treatment at this point, it has been 1 week and Ive been sick less than once a day in that time. With my last 2 pregnancies Ive been sick the entire 9 months-so it is comforting to know that should my morning sickness pick up again, I can find relief through acupuncture. THANK YOU SO MUCH DAN!
