I went to look at a truck after dental surgery. I was able to view the truck but not drive it. Chris reached out later in the day and I came in for the test drive. I had a fantastic time. Dustin was very knowledgeable of the vehicles. He was patient, answering questions and showing me vehicles. He recommended taking any vehicle I was interested in for a test drive. I had my 11year old twins with me. He was patient with them. They were very interested especially in the vehicle I was looking into purchasing. Dustin let them check out everything and showed them what different buttons operated. For some reason my daughter wanted to see the engine and he showed it to her. He and Josh worked well together to get the payments where I was comfortable. Josh worked to get me the warranties necessary for me to be able to keep my vehicle in good condition for a long time. I never felt rushed nor pushed to make a decision. This was important to me because I did feel this way the last time I purchased a vehicle.

Service desk was very professional even when while being told how ridiculous this policy is. Honestly I feel bad that the guy has to even say this stuff to customers.Gene Messer Ford has a policy that you must leave your vehicle at the dealer while waiting for work to be completed .Transmission shop is 2 months behind. The service desk literally sat there and told me that I would have to leave my truck at the dealer for two months while I waited to have the truck repaired. Not even repaired actually just to have it looked at. They will not even schedule the repair. How this dealership has stayed open is beyond me!

I cant say enough good things about our experience at Gene Messer Ford in Amarillo Texas. A Plus service. Heres my story. We were on our way home from vacation when warning lights for stability, skid and anti lock started activate. After I wasnt given the time of day at the first dealer ship I called I then called Gene Messer for help.. They said to get it there and they would work me in.After a tow to the dealer ship from AAA they made me an appointment for 1:30 Pm. My son and I sat in the comfort of the dealer ship with AC and drinks for 4 hours listening to the service department helping people and having to reschedule appointments because they were trying to help out a traveler in need (me). The service technician came to me and said they think thy found the cause but were still investigating. Ten minutes later they found the problem and would try to get the parts and fix it. After another 20 minutes he came back to me and said it was done. They were able to have me back on the road by 4 PM. All was fixed and worked great. Was back home in Kansas by 11PM. Im grateful but not worthy of the awesome treatment and service I received there. I truly owe them. Awesome people! Thanks David

While traveling home from a trip out west, I stopped in this dealership to have oil and fuel filters changed on my F350. Service took 2 hrs with the first appointment of the day.Within 4 days, I noticed a large spot if oil under my truck. (Never happened before.)Called for service manager. He finally returned call after my second message.6 days later I get a notification on my dash to change oil and filter.Why go to a dealer and pay more than I do back home to have an incomplete.job done?Definitely Not a Happy Camper.

I had an O2 sensor problem last month.I took it in and they changed a sensor.On the way home to Colorado my check engine light went on again.I checked the code the next day and discovered it was the same sensor.I went to Amarillo and they again messed with the clearing of history codes and said it was ok.I drove back to Colorado again and yet again the check engine light went on.Three weeks later the truck wouldn’t start.Maybe a bad fuel pump I thought.It started later in the day after I got off work so I hobbled it back to Amarillo Gene Messer Ford yet again to finally have that O2 sensor finally changed out on warranty.I had them also change the fuel pump as a precaution due to it not starting a day earlier.The had the truck for 11 days and had told me that they had some traveling group RV people that needed to get back on the road and my tech got pulled to work on the other peoples vehicles when I also am from out of state.I guess my three trips to Texas to fix this didn’t matter.Any how, They finally got back to my F-150 problem, changed the fuel pump and O2 sensor and at payment time I asked which (new) sensor was changed. I was told they had made a mistake the very first time and had changed the wrong O2 sensor and now the correct sensor was now replaced but that I now had to pay for the new O2 sensor and the labor because there was no Service Mgr nor General Manager nor Admin person in billing to correct this.Then I wake up the next morning after picking up my truck the evening before and my truck won’t start at all.Engine just turns over and it’s a total bust on the whole Shebang.....I’m so freaking angry over this I can’t see straight.Especially after the big guy General Manager told me personally that he would make sure that I was taken care of and that if I had any problems at all to call him......Yeah.... I tried that three times and he is never there at the Dealership.

Took my truck in for a service and to get the stereo screen fixed they kept me informed on the progress and got it back to me in a timely manner. Got it home and figured out the XM part of the stereo wasn’t programmed back to my truck called them back and they told me to bring it in at my convenience and they will get it in and reprogrammed and right back out to me. Other places make you feel really uncomfortable and force you into something that may or may not even be close to what you want or are even asking for. I have been very disappointed with Gene Messer Ford over the past year. On September 1st 2020, I took my PU in for them to identify why it sometimes would not start. They replaced a number of things that were not the cause. After 9 months they finally found the issue. One of the things they replaced was the shifting mechanism, when I got it back the chrome trim was not properly seated around the shift mechanism. I have asked them to repair this twice and it still has not been repaired. The last time was last week, when I had it in for a service and another item that need to be repaired. It shows on the invoice they repaired it but it is not repaired correctly.

I can’t begin to tell you how great Gene Messer Ford in Amarillo tx was on October 16th. My 2015 F150 Platnuim went into limp mode luckily just across the street from the dealership. I pulled in and talked Jeremy the service advisor and he was fantastic said pull it in and he would check the code. He advised it might have been a throttle body issue and said he could do a cleaning. Of course I said how long will this take thinking maybe I would get it done today. He had me out in 45 minutes and back on the road to South Dakota. So I can’t thank them enough.

Good luck dealing with their service department. Making an appointment doesn’t mean a thing anymore. First off, you can’t talk to anyone in service because all calls are directed to a call center. Then when you go schedule an appointment online, the system doesn’t set a max number of appointments per time slot. Drove over an hour to get work done only to find out the time slot of our appointment is over booked and they can’t work on our truck in any reasonable amount of time. You’d think there would be some customer loyalty after spending $80k on a truck with them. My experience has only gone down hill with them every time I’ve dealt with them. And of course, the only solution they can present is β€œsorry that’s just how our system is set up.” Absolutely worthless. I’ll spend my time and money elsewhere.

Called about a truck, which I know are on short supply. I checked to see if there was a hold on it and if this dealer was charing an addendum (which they are. $10000) over msrp. Alright I thought, we would prefer to work with a dealer who werent taking advantage of customers in a shortage, but anyways said we would be paying cash, to which I was told that the truck was only for sale to customer who would be financing. Wow I have never been turned down for trying to pay cash. There are dealers that are not charging over and will still take cash, this may be a great dealer but my experience was less than poor.

I brought my Ford escape in to be worked on by Ford technicians. I explained my problem which was a bad brake booster, and a electrical problem which causes the alarm to go off at anytime when the car is locked. The brake booster was fixed but because of the cost for the electrical repair I couldnt fix it. When I brought in my car I did explain that when the car is locked the alarm goes off, so I keep it unlocked so the alarm wont go off. I ended up having to also purchase a battery from Gene Messer because they lock the car and Im assuming the alarm went off and killed my battery. Im just surprised the technician didnt know that would happen. Very frustrating but what can I do. A two or three hour job turned into a week and half. I was told a couple of days and the service man did say they were behind. Not a great experience and a little more than I was expecting to pay.

Brandon B. and the sales team were PHENOMENAL! Great personalities and not pushy or annoying in anyway. My husband and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and conversations we had getting to know everyone. The actual process of finding and getting approved was simple and we got a great deal within 2hrs (which is pretty good for a large car lot)The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because we had to wait nearly 90min for them to β€œdetail” our car and even then it was not well-done (still had water spots, barely vacuumed, etc). We were told 2-3times β€œ10 more minutes” but it looked like they didn’t even take 10minutes (My husband is/has been a car detailer so he was aware of what could or should be done in that time frame). The sales team felt bad we were having to wait to so long they actually got us some chips and a protein bar to help since it was going past lunch time.At the end of the day/deal, still very happy with the outcome! I made an appointment to have a recall on my Ford Transit addressed. The service manager Gene made my appointment and was very helpful. The evening before my appointment a service tech called me and told me he was to busy to deal w my car at appointed time but I could leave my car and he would get to it in a week to 10 days. I explained I only have one vehicle and had made an appointment and was told it would be fixed that day...the tech said he couldnt get to it and I had to drop vehicle off to get in line. I told him I got in line when I made thee appointment...he said that didnt matter. After that call I contacted the dealership an placed a formal complaint. I was later contacted by the service manager, Gene, who said they had my parts and he would contact me when I could bring vehicle in...yesterday he called and asked me to bring it in this morning which I did and my vehicle was fixed within 3 hours. Gene was very helpful and my vehicle recall has been addressed.

We are full time RVrs. Our Ford 450 broke down on a Saturday morning when we were pulling out. Messer service department was very busy but agreed to help us out. 2 hours later, we were back on the road. Extraordinary service and very friendly, helpful staff. We are so grateful! Five stars!

Satisfied with the car but not the service. Our dealer talked down on me and my father as if we couldnt afford the car. blowing us out the water with an insane interest rate and also lying about trying our preferred bank.
