Great little outlet mall for a little just me time, or some one on one time! Pop in for lunch with your amazing other half and take some cutesy pics together in the photo both, or spend the afternoon with the girls catching up and shopping! Plenty of indoor/outdoor dinning areas and plenty of common areas for relaxing and chatting. On cooler nights there is an outdoor fireplace to get cozy by. With major brand name shops, some unique shops, small food court, toy stores and small kiddie rides theres something for everyone! The outlet is very spacious with clean restaurants and bathrooms. There is a family restroom with a changing table and the cutest lille potty for the little ones! Stop by and check it out, you wont regret it!
Nice outlet mall with variety. Made purchases at multiple stores this round. Everyone welcoming in the stores we were in. They are currently closing at 7 pm - understandable, but just so you know and plan.
Love coming here. Each store has an online account where u can get rewards and stuff. If it isnt on location, its on the web page. I really like the set-up, with the outdoor walkway and the store-fronts are placed aesthetically. Makes for a fun experience whether your inside or just hanging out. Restrooms are clean, store staff has always been awesome no matter where I am. Nice to see names like Express, Michael Kors, Coach, etc in the Des Moines Area.
The Outlet mall in Altoona is a life saver. Gone are the days of driving 30 minutes to the nearest mall in a west Des Moines. Now we can pop over and pick up gifts in just minutes! Today we scored an awesome Under Armour Golf sweater for just $30! Yanked Candle & Bath & Body both have lots of options for great house warming gifts! Last month I needed a blazer for team Photos- I just popped over to the Outlets of Des Moines. Located Just minutes from Pleasant Hill and Ankeny!
I would give this mall 5 stars of they had more choices to eat when spending a long day of shopping. Other than that its amazing!!
There is not a lot of selection in any of the stores here. I was hoping for a lot more! Many spots dont even have a store in them. The ones that do are not well stocked. It seems like the stores get the left over stock that didnt sell in their main stores. Sorry, but I am not looking for out of season stuff that no one else wanted to buy.Probably will not go here again other than maybe to check out the Coach Outlet store that is supposed to be coming there. However I am guessing it will be more of the same and I will waste my time when I could just go to the main Coach store in Jordan Creek.Altoona could have had a good thing for the community, but this Outlet Mall really missed the mark. Ill be very surprised if it is still a thing in 5 years.
They have something for everyone. We managed to hit 3 different stores and had a snack at Auntie Annes pretzels. So personally I like it because theres always a sale going on in several different stores. The only issue I have with it is that I always spend more money that I originally intended to.

Well for me it was just another mall only thing that’s different is that you go from store to store outside, not the best places to shop especially during the winter and really hot humid days I’m sure that the owners like the fact that they don’t have to provide heating up a big building and everything else it costs like cleaning crews for the inside of the building.Well fun fun stay warm or cool during curtain times of the year and watch your pocketbook especially credit cards at also 30 %
Theyve got some great stores here and the place is well laid out. I love going during the day on weekdays - its far less busy and you get really great service, generally, at all of the stores.
Always a good stop for shopping, the wife loves most of the stores here, I like the pepper palace. The variety of stores makes it a great stop for the whole family.
For somebody that doesnt go there very much at all, I feel they could have had a couple more strategically placed You Are Here maps. There are a few around...but could use more. Other than that, I thought the place was great.
Fun experience close to Des Moines. Send the men to Bass Pro just down the road. Great deals enjoy the outdoor concept

This was a great mall to walk. We were visiting family in Des Moines from California and decided to check out the outlets. Theres a good selection of shops and eateries. The area was very well maintained and clean.

Look pretty cool from the outside I asked the wife she went inside and walked around a little bit she said it was awesome I set the car out in the parking lot it looked pretty cool from out there I recommend that for anybody who doesnt want to walk around a lot
Would be nice to get a little more here. What I mean is a better variety of clothing and not just overly priced brands and sports clothing. Maybe also more places to choose from for lunch. Overall this place is very nice so far.

So many stores one location wonderful prices with excellent staff in Outlet happy to help with questions and if dont know answer go above and beyond to get answer/answers you got outdoor gear, recreational, sportswear, beauty, scents, suits, shoes, candles etc.
Nice variety of factory/outlet stores. Like the setup of the outlet mall, with plenty of shade while walking from store to store, or waiting on shoppers in a store.

Outdoor outlet mall. Best in spring, summer and fall. Quick trip in winter. Many empty storefronts right now which is sad. Stores are great. All have friendly staff, great value and restrooms are very clean. Easy interstate 80 access.
The outlets have a ton of options for stores and even though the stores are mostly outside there are coverings over most of the walkways to keep off sun, rain, or other inclement weather. Definitely will return.

This place has a lot of stores with a wide variety of different products, and the stores are, in my experience, actually taking proper precautions for Covid.Sadly, cannot give 5 stars because the concept is so poor. Who though it was a good idea to take the outdoor mall idea from places where the weather is consistently nice and put it in Iowa, where heat and cold can easily make the experience of walking around the place unbearable?

First time there and was surprised at the variety of stores/shops. It is an outside mall and it was pretty cold and windy the day we went, but plan on going back soon and definitely when it warms up!! Looks like a great place to wonder around and explore all the shop when the weather gets better.

We were traveling from out of state with our dog and made the mistake of stopping at the Outlets of Des Moines. We found out quickly that pets are not allowed on their property. That meant one of us needed to stay in the car with our dog. In all our travels, this is the only outdoor outlet mall that we have visited that is not pet friendly, but openly hostile to pet owners. We left immediately, and will never stop at the Outlets of Des Moines ever again.
Fun experience, things are slightly over priced but it was fun. There is a fireplace you can sit by that was so relaxing.

Really neat stores and love the strip mall style stores. Most of the stores were out of my price range. Except the Lee and Wrangler store. Others were comparable to other city prices.

Not a shopper. Wife liked it. Social distance is practiced and some stores had a line to get in to keep numbers in the store down. Not a long wait. Nice place and very clean. I did not have issue with any help in any of the stores. Friendly and informative sales staff. A little something for everybody. I checked out the hat and Jersey store.
I wasn’t expecting a one person in and out kind of line when I went to make my purchase of a shoe on release day, but It was actually a good method and went very smooth and fast the staff was polite and helpful

Coach store was good experience
Really nice the store selection is great. Only downside is its pretty cold during winter and this is an outdoor mall. Too cold to enjoy walking around and with covid you have to wait in line outside to get in stores.

Prices in these stores are not what you should see in an outlet. Everything was expensive
Stopped into the store on 9/30/2020. Greeted by a nice young lady at the cash register. Other sales associates very pleasant. However we went to pay and a tall gentleman waited on us. I believe he was the manager. He was so rude and acted very impatient. Maybe he never has to lower him self to wait on customers but he sure needs more training on how to make customers feel welcome.
