When we finished our basement, we found a carpet at their store which was very fairly priced and they did an excellent job installing it. Weve now had that carpet for 5 years and I couldnt be more happy with it and the installation of it. It looks great, it has worn very well and for what we paid for it, they cant be beat by a large flooring store. We will definitely go back to them when we are in need of something else.
Royal Flooring is a top notch operation. I have used them for my carpet, tile, cabinets, appliances and granite counter tops. Their staff is very knowledgable, patient and friendly. Royal Flooring is also very involved in the communities they serve. I highly recommend to anyone looking for big selection at a competitive price with out the big store frustrations.Sean Wood
Set up an appointment with Mike in Altoona to come to my home to measure and consult. He forgot the appointment. Going somewhere else. If you can’t even keep the first appointment, I don’t have any confidence in your abilities. You just lost a customer.
Great service and prices!
Overall had a decent experience replacing 2 bedrooms of carpeting Im our home. Several things went well and several things could have been improved upon. C being average I give the overall experience a C-Pros: Care was taken to make sure the carpet was laid in a direction that we could replace adjoining carpet at a later time. The price was about the same as other places around town. The install overall is streched in nicely and seams done well. From the time of ordering the carpet to the time of scheduled install was about two weeks so they were able to complete it relatively quicklyCons: The installer was going to start around 8-9am (I called them the day before and confirmed this as I had not heard from them since initially scheduling it 2 weeks prior) The Installer hadnt shown up by 9:30a and hadnt called. I had taken a couple hours off of work to meet the installer but ended up having to leave the house open for him and I never was able to meet the guy. I left my number for him to call with any questions. I never did get a call and a decision was made to put the seams at the doorway flush with the door casing rather than under the door slab. Its 2 different colors of carpet and you see a 3 wide strip of different color carpeting with the door closed this looks goofy and is not where doorway seams are typically placed.I called Royal flooring wondering about a few things after the install and ended up leaving the salesperson a voicemail. I was surprised that I never was contacted to see how things went. I hadnt gotten a returned call so I stopped in a couple days after to talk about the couple things that bugged me. 1 was they didnt even attempt to vaccum any of their mess up. The salesperson said their subcontractors dont have vacuums because if they vacuumed up their mess on every job they would go through a lot vacuums. I dont know whats worse, the mess they left or his justification. Were going to make a mess, we know it and dont nor will we ever look to do anything about it. It only took my wife and I about an hour to clean it up so it doesnt matter in the end, just wish I would have been told that they werent going to clean any of their install mess up. Its construction so of course I expected to clean up after them a little bit but the fact that a guy that installs carpet for a living and doesnt bring a vaccum to make his freshly installed product look good when he walks away it dumbfounded me a little bit. Another thing that bothered me was that the walls and woodwork got scuffs and scratches on them from the install. I understand that these are next to impossible to completely eliminate due to the nature of installing carpet, but when i told him how another company had protected and prevented against them I was told that most installers dont protect the baseboards because it takes too much time. So again, accepting that an improvement could be made, but no desire to accomplish it. Thats why I rate this experience a C-. Overall average service that you can get anywhere and when my concerns were brought up, they were just put to the side. One other note is that we had to pay the full price for the carpet and install in order to get the work scheduled. I would have felt better paying half down and half at the completion of the work, but 100% payment in full is their company policy. I knew this and accepted it before deciding to go with them so its not really a con, just something you can expect if you are going to use them
