I like the meat counter. I do not like that they have added self service lines. If you want me to do it myself them give me a self-service discount. Overall it is still my go to place.

Now this Altoona location, somehow has never heard that you can get SLICED WHITE AMERICAN CHEESE sold to you by the pound? I have been buying this many, many times at the Clive Iowa location. Maybe the guys at the Meat counter just need more customer service training?

The store is always clean. Great meat selection. T-bones and Porterhouses are on sale. Employees are wearing masks if thats a concern.

My favorite grocery store. Its always clean and organized.The prices are comparable, a it higher than Walmart but worth the difference for a clean store and fewer people.The meat is the best around so its a win-win.

Fareway is the best grocery store in our area. They have low prices, usually automatically match competitors prices, and have the best meat counter available. Their meat is fresh and tastes great. They have very courteous employees, and they even take your groceries to your vehicle for you. They are closed on Sunday and on major Holidays, which lets you know that they care about their employees. I highly recommend this grocery store.

The best meat department the employees are great

The service appears to be above average until your faced with having to purchase something at the meat counter. I waited 10 minutes while the only other customer there was being waited on with 3 employees working behind the counter. When they finished with her another customer walked up and they helped him but continued to ignore me. I could easily understand if they were busy but this was just plain rude. I walked away and went to the checkouts to pay for whatever was in my cart and left the store and will not return. They just lost at least $4k/yr in revenue and gave it to HyVee.

This is a great small chain grocery store. Some of the same traditions we used to have in grocery stores are present such as baggers and carryout service. The in-store meat counter offers great meats at fair prices and top notch service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Small town feel to the store. According to their website, they are a top 10 employer in the state of Iowa.

I like almost everything at Fareway. But I dont / wont buy any fish or seafood because it comes from China or other Asian locations. These areas dont have a good production and inspection record. I can find USA fish products at Hi Vee so I buy it from there.Fareway is very proud of meat sold at the store. I can trust it and I buy a lot. It is a USA productIf Fareway ever put a sign on the meat counter that it came from China I think the customers would run out of the store. I would.Bob

As always, I feel like Im buying my groceries from working men an women not a corporation. They may not have the selection of a huge store but for me they have what I need and look for.

They have good customer service and a friendly environment. The meat counter is good. If their meat isnt on sale its usually more expensive the the other grocery stores. Its smaller than the other stores in town but holds a lot of variety of products. I really like their selection of asian and latin foods. All in all its a great store
