Great service. Answered all questions ahead of time, got my 2 new Cooper tires overnight by 11:30am as scheduled. Rolled right in and took care of everything we discussed. Everyone was as friendly as could be. I waited instead of going shopping elsewhere while they worked on it. I didnt even have time to finish a crossword puzzle. Highly recommended

I called the day before to make an appointment for an oil change so it’s not like I walked in randomly. He printed the bill for $64 which I had no problem with so I signed it and let them work.It took 2.5 hours for them to do an OIL CHANGE. They had to order parts apparently because they stripped my studs when they were working. I get my bill and it’s $80 as opposed to the $64 bill I signed. So they made ME pay for the parts the messed up.2.5 hours and 80 dollars later I got my oil changed. Thanks.

A coworker recommended me Monro and I decided to stop in for a brake light change. After arrival, I told them my issue and a gentleman immediately got to work with my car parked outside the garage. He had me out of there in less than 10 min. The best customer service! They actually made sure my issue was resolved too. Firestone would have never of done this... So I thought they deserved a solid review! Very kind people and well managed.

I had service done previously at Monro, Altoona with fine results so when I needed service again on my car, I called and spoke with Tim and made an appointment for the following day.I arrived as scheduled the following morning and requested a diagnosis and repair of an exhaust leak.The mechanic gave me the diagnosis of a rusted exhaust system behind the catalytic converter so I gave the go-ahead for the replacement of the exhaust system.Bottom line is that my car was ready to go within 90 minutes of my initial arrival and I noted that the mechanic also corrected an issue of the old exhaust system being mounted too low by a previous installer and he remounted the new system at the correct height to avoid damage from road debris.All in all, another pleasant experience and thanks to Tim and also to the mechanic for the courteous and efficient service and for restoring proper operation to my cars exhaust system

Their online scheduling is terrible.I scheduled appointments twice with it.The first time, I scheduled days ahead of time, only to be called a day before the CONFIRMED appointment, being told that the time isnt available. They automatically schedule your appointment on a different day and time. Uhm, what if someone cant do it that day? Then was told, I should call in a head of time to schedule.I shouldnt have to call at all if I can schedule online, especially if the system shows that the time I set was available.The second time, I scheduled 2 days ahead. I call in an hour prior to going, they said it wasnt scheduled at all and only have Friday available.I go to the website, the website shows times that arent available and timeslots that are available, which you can click and schedule. After being told theres nothing available until Friday, I see everyday of the week, with timeslots still open, literally minutes after calling in to ensure Im set to go.Either fix/update your online scheduling or get rid of it.Besides that, they were polite and took only (45minutes) for an oil change when I did get scheduled in.

Have been a customer for a number of years for vehicle maintenance and tire purchases. Had the first oil change in my new 2020 Nissan Rogue today and was shocked at the cost of this service. Im disappointed in Monro this time around.

My experience with Chuck and his team was outstanding, never had an appointment called the day prior to see if I could drop my van off for:Front Struts, Front End Alignment, & Oil Change.Was very surprised when I was called later in the afternoon and my van was done, ready to be picked up, in the end I also has to put 2 Stability Links in as well which was not included in the initial estimate, but all in with tax $1064 which beat a local competitor that I got an estimate from for $1250 plus tax not including the needed add on their.

Truck broke down guy was laughing thought it was funny said he couldnt help me with a simple radiator hose clamp and antifreeze...awful customer service

Called twice to reschedule an oil change, and a man named Tim answered the phone. Both times, Tim hung up on me as soon as I spoke. Customer service is paramount, so I will take my business elsewhere.

I wish I could leave the same review. Tim is gone and the current employees dont care. Spilled oil on the engine, oil handprint on the bumper, did not rotate tires. We will find somewhere else, never go backgo to the Altoona Monro and have for many, many years. They are honest and helpful. I suggest Monro to all my family and friends! Chuck and Tim go over and above to give excellent service to everyone! A++++

I have lived in PA for 2 years now and have only gone to Monro in Altoona. The people that work there are AMAZING! So helpful and kind, I have never made an appointment for an oil change on my car. I call when I need it done and they are so nice about letting me drop it off (which has never taken them more than an hour to get my oil changed in between their already made appointments). I have also gotten inspections, tires, windshield wipers, brake pads, etc. The prices are a lot cheaper here than most places which is nice for a college student on a budget and they always send coupons. Never disappointed, always great service from the wonderful people that work there!

Over the past few years I have been beyond impressed by the service and kindness of this place! I use them for inspections tires and repairs and while I am a regular on multiple occasions while Ive been out and had, flat tire, brake light out and a battery issue they have serviced me FAST and often for little to even no money. Tim is one of the best guys you will find anywhere! They will earn your business I highly recommend them!

Took my car in because of a horrible sound it was making. While there the mechanic checked everything out and found there was nothing severe with it. Got it back and it has been running great ever since. Got the oil changed and an alignment done as well. Took my other truck in for inspection and found a minimal but needed soon repair. Had them repair it and paid a small fee to have my truck ready for this year. Great mechanics and great service.

The end price was a little high but the brakes I got have a lifetime warranty on them and Tim and Chuck are very nice people and they explained everything I needed to know very well. I will definitely be returning for my second time and more!

I made an appointment at Monro Altoona to have my catalytic converter replaced on my Chevy.When I arrived for the appt, the gentleman checked the vin on my car to match up the proper converter.He called around and determined that it was a special order item that not many parts houses in the area stocked....It was a Tuesday and the item would need to be ordered to arrive on Saturday due to the Christmas holiday.I told him to order it and gave him my contact info.One hour later, he phoned me and told me that a parts house doublechecked and found the right converter in stock and could have it at the shop within an hour.So I headed back to Monro and they took my car in almost immediately.I was flabergasted when the car was ready with the new converter installed within 20 minutes!...I had expected to be there for a couple of hours.....What helped matters was that there was only one other customer vehicle being worked on at the time.According to the invoice, the gentleman that helped me was Mr.StevensI would like to thank Mr. Stevens for his follow up on the matter resulting in him calling me to inform me of the quicker availability of the part so that I could have the repair done on the same day, rather than waiting a few days until Saturday.Thanks also goes to the tech that did the work on the car and had it ready in such a short time.Based on this positive experience, I will return to this shop again in the future for my car repair needs.

I was scheduled for 2pm for an oil change. I arrived 10minutes early and they took my car in immediately. Changed my oil, checked my tires and breaks and provided great customer service in less than 25 minutes. Best Monro I have been to.

They don’t share up-and-coming problems like when brake pads are getting low. Or when you got a dent in the oil pan that eventually turns into a rusty hole and it leaks and then it is too late to make a repair. The last oil change/ checkpoint inspection revealed brakes at 6mm. Could not have been. And what 2 months later they are grinding. Grrr

This place was great! The mechanic was nice and explained in details what was wrong with my car! Yeah, a bit on a pricey side, but it well worth it to know the job was being done right!

I live 45 miles from Altoona...was shopping in Altoona and my oil light came on...I stopped quick at Monro muffler because I saw sign out front that said oil! Was I ever happy I did! Not only did they check my oil quickly, they gave me 2 quarts and assured I would be fine to go home to Bedford! AND THEY CHARGED ME NOTHING! Unbelievably friendly and best service anywhere! Highly recommend!

They tend not to answer there phone during business hour I dont know how they are open I have called them 17 time from 430 to 550.

Be careful going here. I do not recommend going here. I scheduled an appointment the day before the appointment for 11am to have my vehicle state inspected. Some background info, I live in Pittsburgh and have for the past 6 years of my life but my family lives out this way in Altoona. When I come home to visit, I usually try and get my vehicle stuff done out this way because its usually a bit cheaper than Pittsburgh prices. I showed up just before 11am and the first thing the gentleman at the desk asked me was what county my car was registered. I was a bit confused because that has never mattered before and so I said im not sure, whys it matter? (I actually wasnt sure whether it was Cambria or Allegheny). He said it matters, because if its Allegheny, I cant do it.. This threw me off because, I have never had an issue getting my car inspected anywhere. The whole exchange made me a bit uneasy. I kind of got the feeling that even if they did inspect it, it would be one of those shady places that claim I need a bunch of things replaced and my vehicle is a brand new 2019 Jeep. Anyways, my car was registered in Cambria County but the next issue came because I didnt have my latest car registration printed. I did have it on my phone and not printed. Now granted, I really should have had this printed but they wouldnt let me print it there and they had a printer right there. I could have even emailed it to them to have them print it there. So ultimately I couldnt keep my appointment. It was probably for the better, I had a real bad feeling about that place after that. Definitely do not recommend.

We take our car here for oil changes, balances and allignments. I have never had a problem with them. They even checked over my car before doing a tune up to make sure I wasnt putting money into something that wasnt necessary!!
