Wow! I was in town for a wedding and stopped quick for lunch. I didnt know what to expect, but I was absolutely blown away. The ambience is brilliant and quaint, a great place to have a conversation or get some work done. The individual behind the counter greeted us upon entering and was incredibly helpful and friendly for the duration of our stay, coming by our table multiple times to check on us. The menu was extensive and the sunset boba was incredible. Definitely swinging by again the next time I am in the area!

Highland Blush now has in-person dining for drinks and food in beautiful Downtown Alma. The coffee me and my friends has this past weekend was PHENOMENAL! Highly recommend the pumpkin cinnamon latte. The owner was the sweetest and was so nice to chat with while inside. The decor is to die for and there’s lots of board games to play with your friends and family. Couldn’t think of a better coffee shop in the greater Central Michigan area!
This place truly is amazing! If you love coffee, Café foods, or just a great place to relax with a cup of tea... this place is gold! There aren’t very many coffee shops I love, but Highland Blush is definitely at the top of my list! Very cozy, comforting atmosphere and the service is always astounding! My girlfriend & I definitely recommend!
The food and coffee were pretty good. The service is what bumped it down to three stars. I’m not sure if our server was just flustered from training a new hire or if it was an off day, but they seemed really flighty and unsure of the menu. I was also extremely frustrated that there seems to be a mask policy for customers that does not apply to the staff. I have no issues with mask and even still try to regularly wear my own even when not required, but if you’re going to require it from customers, your staff should be expected to adhere to the same policy.
Hidden gem! Oh my goodness this place is wonderful! My husband and I were in the area visiting family and someone mentioned Highland Blush. So we stopped in to try it and fell in love! The drinks were so good and the food is tasty, the the service and the atmosphere were tops for us! Absolutely will be back!
Went to a bridal shower after the business was closed for the day. Old wooden floors. Beautiful brick wall. Amazing tin ceiling. The inside is older classy beauty. There was a lady and gentlemen who served drinks. They both were polite, quick and very helpful. A wide variety of coffee style drinks and nice atmosphere

Lovely eclectic place with a great coffee bar and delicious food that is a step out of the box if you want something that is out of the ordinary and fresh. Quaint table decor and some handcrafted items by local artists. This will be our stop the next time were in the area.

Kat was an amazing barista and it feels like every detail is hand picked. The plaid motif is fun and really draws all of the details together. I love all the nooks and spaces that make a cozy atmosphere with the lighting and decoration.Kat even held the door for me and my group on the way out :). This was my first, and certainly not the last, time visiting.
This is the café Alma needed. It includes board games, fantastic drinks, fun coffee trivia contests, an aesthetic that Alma longed years for. Plus, the staff is excellent in service and friendly friendly friendly. The prime spots in the house so far are the booths Street side - won’t spoil why.If you’re around and need coffee – skip the chains and go local, always.
Highland Blush is an amazing place to chill, hang out, and even get some homework done! Their food is amazing! I recommend trying their fantastic breakfast sandwiches! I always look forward to coming back.
The sandwiches were so delicious and I absolutely loved the iced Chai. I cant tell you how great the place was! Between the food and the staff, they have a great business! Glad we stopped through on our way!

I absolutely love highland blush. They deserve your love and support too as such a great local business. I’ve always had a great experience there and I try to support them as much as possible. Their food is incredible and eat one is made with love and care. My go to is the California turkey bacon salad which is surprisingly filling. The guac really makes that salad creamy and delish. Also, they’re super inclusive and welcoming. Not just “hang a pride flag and call it a day” kind of inclusive but they actively invite and support marginalized groups by working with the community and bring them in for shows, events, and fundraising. I can’t recommend Highland Blush enough.
Cozy place for students to do homework and have a bite to eat. The food is nothing short of amazing! and the coffee is to die for.

Today was my first visit and one, I hope, of many many more. The place was nice with a lovely aesthetic. The owner was very friendly and prepared the most delicious Chai Lattes and sandwiches for my partner and I. We felt welcome and very at home. We hope to come back soon ^_^
My salad was amazing and fresh! The server was kind and friendly, but she needed another person to help. It looked like another employee was there, but he didnt help her out. (Not sure of the story there.) There is potential for a really cool experience here, but they may need to hire more staff for the lunch hour.

The vibes are immaculate and the design is amazing, the drinks were very appealing to the taste buds, I would 10/10 recommend.
This is my favorite place to be! The staff is incredibly kind and they are always willing to help you find your new favorite drink! The food is top quality and the atmosphere is perfect for studying or meeting up with a friend. All around a wonderful place to spend your time!

Went there for a girls day out and it was the perfect little spot to enjoy nice quiet conversation. The matcha tea was super delish as were the salads we ate. We will definitely be enjoying another girls lunch there again.
I ordered through DoorDash today for the first time and I’m soMad at myself for not trying the food before today . The tomato soup is amazing . I also got a build your own ceaser salad and I’m obsessed . The vegetables are super fresh and the portion was huge . I’ll definitely be ordering regularly !

Saw ants climbing all over the counter. Cinnamon rolls were super hard like the have been sitting for days. Out of multiple things. Went in because people said the place was going out of business. Will never go back, really needs a cleaning!!

Absolutely the coolest place in Alma, hands down. The coffee and teas are exceptional, and priced lower than any chain coffee shop. The staff is friendly and humble, and its clear that Highland Blush isnt just a job for them, its a home and a family. They always have fun events going on for the community and countless opportunities for people to share their niche talents and hobbies. I cannot gush enough over this place, its a wonderful establishment that brings people together.

I look for local coffee shops when I travel and came across this one in Alma. It is a gem! I had the latte with soy milk in the retro cup and turkey sandwich which were was both delicious. The atmosphere was cozy when I was there and I got a lot of work done; but also it is a large space and I could see how it could be fun and engaging with larger group. I will stop by again next time I go though Alma.
This is just the gem that Alma needs!!! What a lovely coffee shop with delicious lunch options. Owner Damian took great care in preparing our lunch and the coffee and desserts were also delicious. I highly recommend supporting this business as local coffee shops are such a great place to gather. It is a cozy welcoming place with drinks and food for all!

We recently used Highland Blush for my wifes Gatsby-themed birthday party. They literally could not have done a better job of hosting this event! Damian and his team went all out! To our surprise, the employees even dressed up in 1920s apparel! From the onset (the planning stages, the decorations, and the actual event), everything was seamless!

I loved my time here, it had everything I wanted in a coffee shop. The menu was easy to pick up and varied, the prices are reasonable and the staff was great! He was very patient and helpful, and gave me some great recommendations.My only criticism was the lighting. It was a bit dark for my taste, but its less of a complaint and more personal preference for me.All-in-all, I would highly recommend going here, its a great place to go alone, and even better with company!

The coffee is good, the selection pleasing, and the apple cinnamon scones something to “write home about.” I had one of the best cappuccinos I have ever had here, and I am a former barista of a national coffee chain.The venue itself rings of history, aesthetic and fun. I was traveling around Michigan and a friend suggested to stop by before heading out. Im glad I did! Really nice aesthetic, super friendly people, and good atmosphere. Plus, they have a piano - always a pleasant bonus when someone comes by and plays some pretty piano music.
Coffee was good. Food menu was small, yet they were still out of a number of items on the menu. Sandwiches were just okay.In response to the owners message, we were actually told that they had gone shopping earlier that day, and they had everything in stock except for a few specialty items that were featured on the menu.We did enjoy the live music.

This place is a jewel in our little community. A delightful space, excellent coffee bar and unique lunch and pastry options. Youre not going to encounter a bunch of Gordon Food Service prepackaged stuff here - they feature local coffee and local bakers. Staff and owners are delightful.

I was in town from Lansing and had a couple of hours to kill so I decided to check this place out. Im so glad I did! The atmosphere is great, my chai tea and pastry were delicious, and the staff were so friendly. I will definitely be back the next time I am in the area. Quaint little venue for entertainment. Saw Raymond Goodwin perform here, and his presentation was phenomenal. Recommend all of his plays. Excellent storylines and delivery.

There isnt another place like it in Alma... And youd be hard-pressed to find another anywhere within 60 miles. Go during the day for good espresso and a great vibe: great for studying on your own--Damien will always turn the music down if you ask--or for a conversation over coffee and board games, which are scattered throughout. And go again in the evening when it turns into a performance lounge for a cabaret performance or a dance lesson or a poetry recital or an open mic night. The place *looks* incredible, and something this unique in a small town like Alma is hard to find.

Nice vibe. Lots of board games available. Art on display. Busy community bulletin board. Nice cup of coffee. Three ladies ahead of us seemed to take forever to order coffees and sandwiches - nearly left as other staff seemed to be unable to take our order.

This place has instantly become one of my favorite things about Gratiot County. This is not only one of the areas first true coffee houses in decades, but it sets itself apart from other traditional coffee places with its stocked up game lounge, cozy elevated window booths, and frequent events like live concerts, dancing lessons, and arts events.This place makes me proud to live in this county and envious of the Alma College students who will get to use it much more than me. It truly is a cultural touchstone that I 100% recommend everyone visit!

SURPRISE!!! A coffee house worthy of its name and located in an unexpected place. Came to buy shoes across the street and looked for a place to blow off some time. There, a coffee place. Checked it out and was impressed. The barista was very busy w/a group BUT asked what my order would be...and he made it w/out slowing down the large group.. Classy!! My Breve was exact, and thats not always true. I looked at the art, affordable and attractive. I read the menu and was impressed. I wandered into the games area in the back. Very inviting and creative. Saw the schedule of events- impressive. I asked my wife to join me after her shopping and she was equally impressed with a brewed decaf.. Weds midday was steady traffic and a lot of pleasant banter w/customers... Everything was pleasant on this visit and I hope to be able to return. Highly recommended,,,
