We were purchasing new skates for my son and they brought many different options for him to try on and made suggestions based on his skating style. The prices were very reasonable as well. I was able to get new skates, gloves and elbow pads for much less than I was expecting. Ill be doing all my hockey gear purchases here from now on.

Just came in from Austin and brought our 7 year old son in to get fitted for new hockey gear. Pete helped us and could not have been more knowledgeable or friendly. His experience in playing and coaching hockey really was helpful and his love for the sport was evident. Just an overall awesome experience.

We needed to find some quality baseball gloves. They had an excellent selection of styles, manufacturers, and sizes. Pricing seemed to be right in line with recommend prices on other sites and stores. Ended up leaving with a bat, too. Knowledgeable staff and excellent large facility. They also have a batting cage.

I am really glad I came here to get help with an awkward fit issue with my skate. (that I didn’t buy at this store) Several employees checked out the issue to get clarification on why the skate didn’t feel right. Tom went above and beyond to check out every inch of the skate and helped troubleshoot the issue! He was so nice, listened carefully, and didn’t take any shortcuts to figure out why the fit was bothering me. It was very helpful. I’m glad I stopped by, and I will def come back for more hockey stuff in the future.

Staff is very friendly. We especially like the fact that Goalie Gear is in stock vs try on and order. This is especially important for our goalie kid whos growing like a weed.

Ive made three trips to MonkeySports in the last few months for hockey equipment and every time Im so impressed with their customer service. Bought some ice skates from their website and brought in to get baked and sharpened. Employee that helped me was incredibly friendly and informative. I hadnt played ice hockey in a long time and he helped get the skates perfect. Got some fresh soakers too.

We are in town for an out of state tournament and my son took a puck to his custom skate and broke the back guard on his skate. We went in and Cameron was so helpful and got it fixed so he could continue with the tournament. Thank you!!

Absolutely the worst customer service and experience.I was interested in buying inline/roller hockey skates. I had two pair I was interested in, $300 and $750. I know my size and called ahead of time. Walking into the store with 20 minutes to closing time and ready to buy. I asked the associate to help, but was given a box and instructed if I need a different size the warehouse was closing in 10 minutes, but try them on. I said I might want a different brand but would decide between the two. His answer was okay go try this one on first. Its really just about fit for me, CCM vs Mission. I had to guess where the try on area was, and thankfully was correct. I laced them up myself, and immediately upon putting my foot in I knew they were not going to work. So I looked for the associate and he was standing around. I waved because I was in my socks and wasnt about to walk across the store. Then another associate looked over as I waved, but again no help. Perhaps everybody waves at associates just to say hi? So with no help and now 5 minutes until the store closes, I put my shoes on and walked towards the associate to let them know I need help. I needed the $750 skate since it was the only comfortable one for my foot shape. But apparently he had something to do and walked off before I got there. Granted, probably to do closing duties, but sorry customers in your store should be helped. Especially in skates where the only way to try something different is by going in the stock room.After all of this I just walked out without buying anything, and will not be returning either. Ill be headed across town to Pure Hockey and suggest you not waste your time here either if you value great customer service.

Went skate shopping and the goalie specialist Pete helped me out. That guy knows his stuff and was very honest with me. As a result, I got the CCM Jetspeed FT2 and I’m thrilled.Everyone needs a Pete in their life.

Go to hockey and baseball equipment. Staff can be okay if you get someone knowledgeable in the sport or more specifically in the position you or yours plays in (think catcher and goalie). Pricing is hit and miss, but typically good to great deals on last season equipment. Can be sporadic on some special items such as selection of goalie gear sizes but warehouse is right there and often they have in stock, just got to wait a bit. Do not like the gift card system as sometimes gift cards sent via online for gifts are not eligible at the store (online is online only).

Large facility with excellent selection of good quality products. I was looking for batting gloves for my son and the price online was cheaper than in store. I asked the representative about the difference and he said they will honor online prices and when I went to the check out counter, he made sure the person ringing up my order gave me the online price. Looks like they have a new customer/ returning customer.

Beware of the fine print on their website. I have bought MANY items from this store. I bought a pair of sliders about a month ago. They had to get them from the back because my daughter needed a womens size. I made the mistake of not checking it but I was also not warned about the return policy on undergarments or I would have made her try them on before we left. My daughter went to put them on for a tournament and came out of her room to inform me they gave us the wrong ones. Fast forward a month due to practice, tournaments, camps, courses, and summer school I finally made the time to take it back today. He didnt mention the policy again and looked it up off my credit card then said no return. Why even look??? I was about to buy some pants too! Not a customer anymore. Thanks ACADEMY for taking good care of us today and giving us a price match plus 5%. And they do take back sliders!!

I had been searching and driving for several days before I finally came here.Id even purchased and returned skates from one of their competitors,I should have come here first. Cameron and a lady whos name Ive forgotten helped me both on the phone and in the store.They were both awesome.I dont know where they found Cameron. He either loves his job or he owns the place. He thoroughly educated me, quickly and I was able to understand everything he was saying.I went in there with a $250 budget and spent $400 because of his honesty and expertise.Never shopping anywhere else for hockey needs, there would be no reason to do so. Expert advice, the lowest prices possible.

Have been twice to check out youth hockey goalie gear. Patient, knowledgeable staff took the time to understand my needs. Write down product/size info so I could order online. My kid was with me & that helped make it a surprise.

Walked in about 8:15pm looking for a helmet for my kiddo and was greeted by Terry. He was extremely helpful and helped us go through about 20 helmets until he found one in stock in the back that was the perfect fit. 🙌 Also, the store is bright, clean and welcoming and easy to find what you need. Another season to start and were back to our favorite place, store in Allen. Walked in with son and it does look like not much is left after Saturday big day sale. Were in need of ice Hockey helmet, ice skates and ice Hockey pants. Found Hockey helmet and after checking all Hockey pants even found good ones in right size with great protection CCMs. Final stage is to get ice sates, needed some assistance on measuring right size, after a few minutes of waiting we were assisted by JOHN FOREMAN . He did all measurements for my son and advised on ice skates that would be great for his hockey practice and games. I have no doubts in his competence because he knows his product and for my knowledge of equipment because I spent some time to look, research, read reviews I felt that Im on same page what John is recommending and referring to. After listening to him and trying on just two sizes of ice skates we got the right combination of features vs value and made good choice. He helped us with sharpening and checking us out with smile. Thank you for your excellent customer service and help during our shopping JOHN, we know who should we ask for next visit. I work in auto industry for 24 years and know that people right know will look for reviews and right person who can help while they are shopping and have a trust to be served. When I asked my son where he wanted to go on our visit from Australia this year, the number one choice was Monkey Sports. They have a wide selection of bats and gloves (and everything else you could need) at good prices. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend.

Fantastic! Ive bought my son two gloves at this location and theyve been great from start to finish. I worked with Terry on the most recent purchase which he had to order from another location for me, and he was great in letting me know that it arrived and holding it until I could get there. This is an excellent location, I highly recommend it for your baseball needs.

Hockey Monkey is the best. They have the best prices and selection, and will honor their online prices. There is always staff available to help if you have any questions. I just wish it were closer to me, but anytime I need something it is worth the 45 minute drive

Team sales is great for club teams. Retail really is just like any sporting goods store.Team sales has much better selection is far less limited in service. Worth the effort to build the relationship.

I usually brag on Monkey Sports but today not so much. Want to do all my purchases here but won’t do that if they are more expensive. So I thought they’d price match. THEY DO NOT !!!!!! To clarify they will price match full price items only. If someone has a sale price, or a price with 15% off the item they WILL NOT match. Even if a small $5 difference. Providing competitors ad will not help.

Had a bummer experience in what has otherwise been a pleasant place to shop. Inventory selection for softball shoes was terribly limited and the service that day was below what I received there before. Hopefully this day was an anomaly. Ill be back with hopes of a better experience.

Beware ALL of the fine print. I received an e-gift card from here, the card cannot be used in stores and can only be used for the site it was purchased from. For example, if you buy a hockeymonkey gift card you cant use it on goalie gear or lacrosse gear, or any other monkey sports specialty, because that is technically a different company. I emailed them asking to move the gift card to buy goalie gear was informed that its not possible. The customer service person told me I should have read the disclaimers before purchasing the card....It was a gift. You are much better off buying from Pure Hockey, you can use their gift cards online or in store and make returns through either channel too.

The staff was extremely helpful. The selection was huge skate sharpening was quick and accurate. 100 times better service than what you get at Hockey Giant. I will gladly dive 15 miles further to have better service and selection.

I got tired of the employees at Hockey Giant so I decided to give this place a shot. Everyone here is a lot nicer and more helpful. The area to test hockey sticks isnt full of boxes like the one at Hockey Giant. They gave me a perfect cut on my skates. Basically, Im never going back to Hockey Giant again.

Your Company really let our Club down. It started with Jackie and just has gotten worse. You offered us 13 bags at a price match + the 15% team discount. Then, Jackie comes in and unilaterally revokes the deal and calls Kameron young and new as the excuse. This is deplorable customer service and just plain wrong. You didnt only disappoint me, as a customer, by 13 boys were counting on your company. You let them down. You opened an incredible store in Allen, but you have now lost all credibility with your deceit. I have tried to reach out to CS, but of course, nobody from your company wishes to respond since the email chain is so damning to Monkey Sports. Do the right thing, guys. Dont be THAT company that screws over customers -- the young kids that you cater to and love the sport. Just plain wrong.

My third trip back to purchase softball gear this year. My first two visits were excellent. Today service was alittle slow in the beginning, but became excellent in the end. They give a military discount. I would like to see their products have the item numbers on their website. When I let the cashier know it was on their website, they have to lookup the product to find the item number and that tends to take some time.

Not much of a collection of adult slowpitch softball equipment, plus couldn’t get any of the store associates to help me.

We thank the store staff for their help. We bought everything we need for hockey and figure skating for children. Please accept the apologies that you were detained after the store closed. You were polite and helped us. We bought the child everything new for hockey for his birthday.

Read the fine print. They sent out a coupon to national hockey tournament participants that excluded Bauer CCM and Warrior products. So basically anything you’d want a coupon for. I got what I needed and service was okay. I just felt the coupon thing was shady. Shooting area to try out different curves is a bonus.

Ive been to this location a couple of times and the customer service is excellent !! Right away you can tell that customer service is a high priority with this company. The sales team was very hepful and knowledgeable about products over the phone and in person.

The staff was amazing they helpped with sizing the right helmet for my son which we needed a bigger size (med adult) but needed a youth face shield. The store was layed out perfect too where you could see everything and anything you wanted or needed. We usually purchase online but liked being able to see and try what we needed or wanted

Bought a whole new setup for ice hockey goalie. Staff was very knowledgable and patient with my buying process.

Ordered the wrong stick and called to cancel 5 minutes later, and ordered the correct stick. I was told the order on the first stick was already processed and would have to wait for it to arrive in order to return it, and was charged $10.00 for return shipping. How is a store not able to process an item cancellation within 5 minutes? Customer service refused to credit me the $10 for shipping and instead generously gave me $5.00 instead because the order was already processed when I tried to cancel. PureHockey is 100x better, their customer service is top notch compared to this. Not ordering anything from monkeysports/hockeymonkey again.

Visited here to purchase extra steel for my bauer skates. So far so good on all the shapenings on my skates. I would reccomended this location to anyone...good friendly staff and lots of choices

Was excited to check the place out but they have 30.06 and 30.07 posted! I can understand not wanting people open carrying, but the signs wont keep bad people out...only the good ones. As long as this company continues to discriminate against the most law abiding and is openly against the safety of their patrons, my family and I will not be spending our money there.

Went to Monkey Sports to purchase some equipment for my new softball team. Cruz was helping me and told me he was going to check the clearance bats for me. As I havent swung a bat in twenty years I really didnt care about the nuances of beer league softball bats. Apparently that upset Cruz and he never returned with the information on the clearance bats. He might have been the superstar of the prison league, but he is out in my book.

I always feel like they dont care much about me but their hockey selection fantastic.
