New to the area and first time taking my car to an independent mechanic. I went to Aliso Viejo Auto Service for new breaks on my BMW - I only directly dealt with Austin (front office) who went above and beyond in helping me and providing excellent communication/status updates. I was in and out within the time promised.The work performed was done well, efficient, timely and reasonably priced.Although I hope not to return anytime soon, I do know Aliso Viejo Auto Service will be on speed dial for my next auto service.

Overall an excellent experience! I came to Shane with a request to put new suspension on my vehicle since the dealer was charging way more than I could afford for the stock suspension. I also needed other work on the vehicle to make it road worthy for a long road trip. Shane was not only professional and communicative, he actually came in less than he originally quoted. Being in service in all capacities my entire adult life, places that give great customer service are unicorns. It has gotten better lately, but as a whole, its rare. I was in the middle of my work day, leaving my 9am appt in south San Diego, i called Aliso Viejo Auto Svc on my drive back up to Orange County. I told Shane my brakes were grinding at this point. It only happened on my way home the night before, late and I had the 9 am, it was too late to reschedule it, so I bit the bullet and went. Shane asked me some qualifying questions to tell me whether he thought hed need my car all day, or if he could get it done within a couple hours and get me back on the road. I arrived, he took a look at my car, and had me out of there a very happy customer in 2 hours. I took my laptop to the local sports bar, in same parking lot, and did some work, watched every sport known to mankind, had a personal pizza and got back to work. Pricing was fair, i tried to do as much research as possible, and they already had stellar reviews. I would recommend Aliso Viejo Auto Service to anyone who needs an honest, accommodating and great local business to support. Thank you Shane and crew!

Shane and team were recommended by our neighbors, and were glad they did. Theyre honest, straightforward, professional and you just get the vibe they are trustworthy to do business with. They took care of the flat and some other things, but when I got home, I discovered they went the extra mile and placed the spare tire and extra parts all back where they were originally placed in the trunk compartment without me asking. I called and asked for service on our car and since we only have one car, they drove me home and picked me up.We had engine light maintenance light analysed and repaired, oil changed and front brakes.We found the repair was done professionally and on time.Good job, we will be back.

The lady on the front desk was friendly and helpful. Shane seemed like a honest and alright dude, but I just cant get over the fact that they wanted to charge me almost $3,000 for new brakes and an ignition coil fix.Ended up taking it to a different mechanic who charged me $500 instead.It just doesnt seem ethical to me. I understand there are a lot of wealthy people who might not know any better, but charging me $1,231 in labor alone for a few hours of work is insane to me. Its like these guys think theyre rocket scientists or something.Sorry if this review came off as harsh. Again, I loved the helpful lady on the front desk and have nothing against shane as he was also helpful and honest.

Returned once again to Aliso Viejo Auto Service. This time for motor mount replacement and install a new starter on my sons Honda. Quick turnaround and very fair labor/parts pricing. Nothing beats OEM.As always, Shane, Ralph, and the Do Crew did me right.

I came in fully resigned that I would be out at least a couple thousand dollars for a new catalytic converter as I had had a friend read the check engine codes and that was his diagnoses which matched codes that I had seen before. Shane was great and suggested he try an engine treatment. He kept it overnight and worked his magic and I drove it for 2 or 3 days with no codes showing up. It passed the smog test without a problem! I did pay $400 but that was a bargain to be able to finally register my Lexus without shelling out over $2K. I will use AVAS from now on!

I completely trust Shane, Ralph and the whole team at Aliso Viejo Auto Service. I recently had a problem with my transmission and had my car towed to their shop. I was concerned the whole transmission was blown, and it’d be $4000 to replace, and my car wasn’t worth much more than that, so I would’ve sold it as salvage. So Shane and Ralph shared all the potential costs and solutions with me, and we agreed to start by replacing the hose for the transmission fluid, which costed $600. Shane was transparent by saying it was less than a 50/50 chance that it would work, and if it didn’t, I would’ve lost $600. However, I wanted to try and save the car. So, without me even knowing, Ralph innovatively tested whether a new hose would work by using the old hose and running it straight to the transmission without going through the coolant. Even though the hose was broken, he could test whether the $600 new hose could work and then save me money if it didn’t and I had to salvage the car. Well, it did work, and I was extremely grateful. I’ve never had mechanics who take time to understand my unique situation, what matters to me, and then put my interests first when it comes to my cars. Thank you Shane, Ralph and team. I’m a customer for life.

Shame came in with an estimate to replace my intake manifold gasket $300 cheaper than one of his competitors. The work was done quickly and Shane educated me on the process and suggested other services that would be helpful as well. He told me what was urgent and what was not. He was not pushy at all. I appreciated his professional advice. A month after that service my check engine light came on, he diagnosed what caused it and reset the light. He didnt charge me anything for the assessment. Thankfully the service needed was not urgent. I highly recommend Shane and Aliso Auto service and Ill be using them again for sure.

I finally found an honest place that does great work for a reasonable price!! Shane replaced the brakes on my Mercedes SLK 300. I had asked for OEM parts and that is exactly what he installed. No surprises. I also found the atmosphere very comfortable and non-intimidating. Everything was explained in a clear informative way. This is definitely my go to place from now on.

Liked the prompt and careful attention to oil consumption issue with Prius (140k miles), including tips on checking oil level monthly and adding oil at home. Sorry to say transmission fluid replacement would have cost around 2x as much at Toyota dealership. Good attention to detail with tire rotation, brake pad check, tire pressure and wear check. Thankfully, Ralph seems as savvy and helpful as owner Shane.

Unfortunately, I cannot give Aliso Viejo Auto Service a good review. I took my car in for the first time a couple of months ago. I knew it needed some work and was prepared to spend some money to get everything fixed. They did a complete analysis which totaled almost $3,000.00. I told them the car leaked oil and I wanted what every was causing the leaks, to be fixed. They said that it would. I authorized them to do everything on their diagnostic list and paid them the money. Four days later, my car was leaking oil in my garage. I brought it back, and they said that I would need between $675.00 and $1,100.00 more work done on my car. Really? I just spent $2,900.00 at their shop and had them do absolutely everything on their diagnostic list with the understanding that the work included correcting the oil leaking problem. Obviously, it didnt and I am not very happy.

Have been going there for years until recently with three family cars. One has 173K miles on it and due to their recommended preventive work, have never had a major problem Never try to oversell. In fact, took the Sequoia to the dealership for warranty work and was told had an oil leak that was not covered. Took it to Shane and he said just oil that was spilled by them

Its too bad I have moved again and have to find yet another shop but if Im in the area and happen to need something done, I will of course be calling to schedule an appointment!
