First off Id love to say that Home Depot has been one of my favorite stores ever! My husband and I own two rental properties and have completely redone both on our own as well as our own house. We have over 10 family members in the area that also use this Home Depot for various home renovations. My in-laws own over 16 properties and they do all of the work themselves so we are at Home Depot a lot. Anytime we have had any issues everyone has been very friendly kind and works with us on what we need. There is one employee that has completely tainted not only my experience and my husbands experience but our entire families experience. Combined our family has spent probably over close to $1,000,000 at this store we are in there at least twice a week. There have been a few times where weve had to make returns on items that we didnt use or were damaged. We have always come in with either our receipts or the credit card it was purchased on and had no problems returning it. There is one employee, Jon I believe he is the returned manager. He has been the meanest most vile and cruelest person I have ever met. He has given us issues at least five Times Now when we have tried to damaged items or unused items from jobs that were in package. I understand if they werent in package and understand the return policy on that however these items were packaged or within the return availability. My husband recently bought a tree and it had died in less than a week. We returned it on day 5 when we saw the condition it was in. Like any other time at this store, we have been able to return plants that were flawed or not doing well. My husband took the tree in with the pot, tag, and receipt. From the date of the receipt, it showed we had purchased it five days ago. Jon, the return manager or at least he claims hes the manager accused my husband of being a liar saying that this tree couldnt have died that quickly and there must have been a different tree. We literally had the receipt tags and pot for this plant. He refused to return it with our card, so my husband gave him the receipt and he still was adamant about not returning it. After arguing with him and showing him proof of when we bought it, he said he would return it this time only, but he is not returning them again. I usually would not care if this was one instance however this has happened every single time that we have had to deal with him. I believe he is completely ruining the face of Home Depot and completely tainting customer’s experience. Anytime I can I now will result to going to different stores to avoid this man. I genuinely think he is a detrimental to this company and hope that others dont have this experience. Like my own experience my family members have had much worse run ins with Jon. My other family members have also left feedback for Home Depot regarding this employee. I am beyond hurt and tainted because of this one individual. He has really degraded the Home Depot name and I hope that others dont have the same experience.
Very hard to get service in this store. Except for a few good experiences in the garden center, it is hard to find anyone to help, and when I do, they are rarely friendly.Went in today to pick up an online order and despite five people in the (ironicly named) customer service area and only one customer, I had to wait several minutes for assistance and then they couldnt find my order. I asked for a manager, who never reported back. Another employee said John had been paged earlier and never replied then, either.Try another store and save the headache.
Staff if ALWAYS helpful. I shop here a lot with all my projects since we bought our house in April. If an issue does occur, they fix it right away
I didnt see the name tag of the girl that helped me in the plant section at the front of the store but she was the most helpful person ever, helping me find the succulent I wanted and nice pots to go with it. Allbert the succulent will miss you, maam.
Usually pretty good. This one is well maintained
I went there and got customized blinds for my home enjoy Customer service her name was Joy She was super professional She weighed it on me I think shes the manager and the blinds department
Helpful but didnt have what I needed. They tried thats what counts
Incompetent employees and being lied to. I sent my wife to Home Depot to pick up 3 valves, after selecting them, having system text her and took screenshot of valves a person in plumbing helped her and gave her valves for PEX instead of compression. When I went to return and exchange the person handling the return said Home Depot policy is not to do ecxchanges, which is a complete lie. Home Depot website says, refund in cash, on card or exchange. Sick of incompetent people who really dont know anything and then lie thu their teeth.
Helpful staff. Mike is great in plumbing.
Convenient location for supplies needed in/with construction.
Nice clean store, have been going here for a while now, never had a problem untill we met Jon at the front customer service/ returns. He provides horrible customer service, has caused issued with my orders and returns. Does not do any extra for customer, I had my issued resolved with his supervisor instead. This home depot would be 5 stars if it wasnt for the now multiple bad experiences with Jon.
Mack give a great help at Elgin store, then Mike and Thomas at Algonquin they also help me a lot.So good people . Good workers
Has a nice selection of shovels and about 6 different mulch selections. Very happy
Went here to purchase a thermostat. We had the email from ComEd for our in-store $100 rebate. If you go to ComEds page you can submit for the rebate and pick to use it in store, or on line. We chose to use it in store only at a home depot. Once this is issued, you use it and save $100 at time of checkout - its clearly explained from comed. We checked out - and of corse at the register, it didnt work. He basically threw his hands up and was like, it dosent work - you still want it w/o the rebate? No thanks - Ill go to customer service and see if they can help. He was friendly and said ok.Go to customer service and we explain the situation. The immediate response was well if it didnt work for him, Im sure it wont work for me. I was irritated, and suggested that was a poor excuse, please try. At that point she was SLIGHTLY more willing to put effort into helping. She asks a few co-workers who basically all say yeah, you got to do that on line, we cant helpWhich isnt true - it literally says IN STORE ONLY. At this point I just say forget it - Ill try another Home Depot. So now she puts a little more effort into it - makes a call to someone, and he says same stuff - yeah, we cant help - those never work - on line only.. Same excuses. THey said buy it, and main in your receipt . (IT says CLEARLY IN STORE ONLY). Finally I just say forget it.Get in the car and we call the Home depot in Crystal Lake. We explained the rebate we had, and the lady who answered the phone was confused as to why that home depot couldn’t help. She even said So you have the in-store rebate - and the code likely starts with a 9? She knew exactly what it was, and said they work with them all the time.So we went to Home Depot in Crystal lake. Within 5 minutes we made the purchase and had ZERO issues. They had no idea why 5 employees at algonquin were clueless.Crystal Lake store will be my go to from here on out.
The return attendendant thought thwy were being nice by just opening a box and replacing my drill without any paperwork. A week later when that new drill failed, Im the one screwed. Gotta do my job without the one tool that makes it easier because of this store. Closest location to my house. Will never shop here again. Going to Lowes next time, or straight through our company distributor.
I use this HoDe often. I find the staff very helpful overall. Recently, Judi was very helpful with my in store pick up. The guy (sorry cant remember your name) in appliances (I was looking at refrigerators) was very informative!
Wonderful, I found something I didnt expected to find, my favorite flowers, n kind of cheap..
DO NOT USE CONTRACTORS THROUGH HOME DEPOTHome Depot contracts through The Countertop Factory. The line of ownership between Home Depot and their contractors is vague… when something goes wrong both Home Depot and the Contractor point fingers. In the end you are left with a headache of going in circles trying your darndest to get a resolution while you continually get bounced back and forth between Home Depot and the contractor. When the Measuring Tech (Alex) from The Countertop Factory came to my house, I requested two changes to my order:1) Change the edge to be FLAT (no cost to update)2) Add the Chip Minimization/Enhanced Seam/Digital Package (a $600 Add On)The Countertop Factory happily made the $600 upgrade…but FAILED to provide the FLAT edge as requested. Funny how The Countertop Company conveniently made the change that earns them an extra $600...Unfortunately I had no idea of their error until after my old kitchen countertop and sink were removed by The Countertop Factory. Once the company brought in the new countertop, I identified that the edging of the new countertop is NOT what I requested. As a result of The Countertop Factorys error, my kitchen was left without a working kitchen sink for 2 WEEKS!It was horrendous working between Home Depot and The Countertop Factory trying to get them to correct their error. Both of the companies pointed to the other and neither wanted to budge and accept the sunk cost. To be honest, Home Depot is just as guilty.Andrea from Home Depot said they could only amend the upper section of the countertop by trimming down the bullnose edge to make it flat. The main part of the countertop that was with the wrong edge could not be amended. And with that no one wanted to admit fault and build a new countertop from scratch.Andrea from Home Depot convinced me to accept that its okay to have different edging of the coutnertop in my kitchen. It wasnt until today that I realized why....after multiple trips to Home Depot, Kyrie said that Andrea should have reviewed my order with me before it went to production as that is part of the process at Home Depot. Andrea was convincing me to accept the countertop as is to cover her own fault. In desperation to have a working kitchen sink with water...I took the $5,600 countertop that was built with the wrong edge and have to live with it FOREVER.Very dissatisfied and would not recommend working with The Countertop Factory or Home Depot!
I like shopping at the Home Depot on Randall Road. They have excellent customer service, and friendly, knowledgeable employees!
We ordered appliances through Home Depot. Our fridge was delivered first and without even taking the fridge off the truck, the delivery driver said it wouldnt fit. He then relayed that I refused the delivery and made it seem as though we rejected the fridge. 3 days later we finally received our original fridge that did in fact fit just fine. The rest of our appliances were delivered at a later date. Our dishwasher does not wash the dishes without running a load through 2-3 times and it does not dry the dishes at all. Theyre not even warm when opening the dishwasher as soon as the cycle ends. I called Home Depot 9 days after receiving the appliances and we were already passed the window they guarantee their appliances for. We were told to go through the manufacturer. The manufacturer does not have a technician in the Algonquin area and will have to source out the service and we will be charged if its not a manufacture issue. So if you hope to use your appliances longer than a week, I suggest shopping elsewhere.
I had a very complicated purchase in the appliance department. The staff was 👏 wonderful helping me make it all work.Because I was using 2 types of gift cards and my regular card. Thanks to my service lady and everyone else that helped. They had so much patience and concern to help me get it done. They wereWonderful. 🙂
I recently had knee surgery so I was using a scooter and everyone was so willing to help me. Very happy, friendly, helpful and professional staff.
Man toy store. Love it
Im there at least once a week but this time it left a great deal to be desired. the two people in the paint department werent really interested in helping me and I had to stay away from their customer that was at there desk because he didnt have a mask on. They did nothing about asking him to put a mask on. Actually this is the first time Ive ever had any problems at that store. Both the men took off looking for an interpreter with the Hispanic gentleman without the mask that they walked side by side with.. so they chose one of the gals who was cleaning the floor. She left her floor cleaning machine to go over and act as interpreter. I went to ask where the Rust-Oleum glow-in-the-dark paint was. he simply pointed down the aisle and said its on the left on the end. As was advertised on the site I looked for the spray cans for over half an hour and there werent any. There was a wee can about 4 oz. I brought into the paint desk however there still wasnt anyone there. they were busy with the spanish-speaking person. I went to the checkout to ask if the color of the paint was green or was it white. She didnt know she went over to the paint section and the two men returned. They didnt know so they had to open up the can. Long story short the gal in the front was awesome she had a great number of medals. It was disappointing for the first time. there should be people who tell others to put on their masks and if there are only two people in a department and an interpreter is required maybe leave one in the paint department to help customers. I also needed some planters and they were very few if any rectangular ones. Ill still return to the store and hope that itll go back the way it used to be where if you were looking aimlessly someone would come to your rescue to tell you where things are.
I have come to appreciate what home depot has to offer from the veterans discount to the very helpful staff the only thing I have a problem with is the refund policy you should get back what you paid for the item they need to explain this in detail to the customer
Love this location.Always helpful and always friendly.Shout out to the manager here
Good variety of flooring options. Knowledgeable staff.
I dont understand why I have to use self check out in your store.
We experienced good customer service and found an appliance that worked for us!
Quick and friendly service atCustomer service desk
Quick and easy near the house whenever I need something home depot is there.
I bought a washer and dryer through Home Depot back in October. The washer was installed no problem but the dryer was damaged. When I was told to reschedule the delivery Home Depot said I had to go through the manufacturer- Whirlpool. The delivery date was then set for November. When it was time for the second delivery no one showed and I wasnt notified until I called to find out it was rescheduled by Whirlpool w/o my knowledge. The delivery was then set for 12/5 but I was told it would be today by the delivery service. Home Depot is terrible with their delivery service and I will never be going through them again since they are no help. Their employees tell me its on the way for delivery when its not. If you are fine with waiting forever for product and like terrible customer service use them.
I always find myself buying more that I want always nice
Great store!! Decent prices.
Very helpful. Carries most everything we needed.
Customer Service Desk personnel always congenial & efficient.
They were so nice so helpful! Thank you very much!
In store experience has always been great. I ordered countertops from Home Depot and the sub contract it out to a terrible company called TCF Midwest. Make sure you do not get that company if you buy countertops.
Sue in the paint dept....wonderful!
Luv me some Home Depot. I can never just buy one thing.
Menard and Lowes have better lumber selections
Had what I needed. Salesperson big help.
Everybody loves the Deep.
Purchased a weber gas grill online from home depot. Easy to do, delivery was perfect. Went to assemble and found I was missing 1 part. After spending 1+ hours a day, for 7 days on the phone with weber, I was ready to return the grill. Weber refused to listen to what i was saying even after i supplied pictures of my issue. Went to algonquin il home depot and talked to Marty. Problem was fixed in less than 10 minutes. He listened, looked at the pictures and understood what needed to be done to fix the grill. Will not go to or purchase weber again, will go to home depot and recommend marty.
No question this store is essential in my life, work & home needs 👍👍
Great store, everything you need for home improvement. Shields in place at checkout. Cleaned after every customer.
Not happy at all with Home Depot - bought a brand new Whirlpool refrigerator that stopped worked after 3 weeks. Home Depot turned their backs on us saying they would only take it back if it broke within the first week. Come to find out - Menards & Lowes have a better policy under these circumstances. I think from now on - Ill buy the same products elsewhere.
I come here often to buy supplies for my carpet business and I leave every time satisfied with the customer service. Jen K goes above and beyond and she has exceeded my expectations.
I have always been able to find what I need. Also have noticed home depot has been very good at restocking where others havent during these challenging times. They also have gone back to regular hours. I actually was turned away by a local ace hardware one minute before closing at 6pm during the week. Ridiculous these young kids just dont want to work. But can count on home depot, I immediately went to home depot and spent my $175. Had everything I needed...
The Algonquin Home Depot is always a great experience. If not, customer service makes things right!
Everyone here is always so helpful! I was able to finish a DYI project that I was having problems finding the right parts for and 1 of the staff helped me figure out an alternative to what was needed.
I have always had a great experience at Home Depot! The staff is exceptional and provide top notch service. Very friendly and make shopping there a joy!
Hot Cheetos
From now if I can buy what I need anywhere else than I will avoid Home DepotTheir service has been going downhill for a while and now they riched the bottom
This is still one of the best Home Depots of about 20 I frequent as a pro. The tool section is adequate, there are better. Every other department is very well stocked and organized.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Great place to shop for home improvement serviced
Went in to rent a truck. Had an overall positive experience. Everyone that was working seemed like they were in a good mood.
Great employees help find what you are looking for and offer alternative ways to get the job done.
Jeff Hinderliter was extremely helpful to me selecting Linder and with several general questions. He went above and beyond. Should give the guy a raise.
Joy in the paint area was wonderfulWhat a Joy 😀She helped getting the exact color I needed for my garageThank you for having great employees
Always find what I came for and more! Love it!
Homedepot is my most favorite store to shop. Always have what I need.
Unhelpful employees unwilling to get a forklift to get something down from the top shelf. Waited 20 minutes asked another employee he gave a dirty “I have to be somewhere else look” and walked away!Thank you Home Depot!I decided to save the money I was going to spend at your store. And left!
Its a good place to go
Great service and prices
Helpful and friendlystaff. Following the CDC social distancing procedure ensuring their staff and customer safe, great job.
Very nice, great people
It has all your needs with friendly help
Loads of flowers, reasonably priced. Needed help putting a heavy bag of dirt in my car. It was readily available from one of the employees.
Dave in Appliances was extremely helpful and funny. Would go back just because of him.
Always friendly and helpful staff.
Some times its handy
Have rented equipment with HD (various stores) for years, impressed with the courteous staff, specifically an older gentleman in Tool Rental with a grey/white beard. He went above and beyond to help me load everything into my truck. Kudos
This is for all Home Depots, not this specific one: Get all the extra little stuff out of the main aisles! You sell large things (4x12 sheets of drywall, 16 sections of trim, long pieces of lumber, etc). All those extra displays make maneuvering anything large almost impossible! Forget it if someone wants to walk the opposite direction! Clear the aisles!!! Make your stores safe for everyone, no matter what theyre shopping for!!!
Great flower baskets for mothers day, had a huge selection compared to Meijer next door. Garden center is clean and well organized.
Had to order the bracket I wanted. Can pick it up in five days. Not the best, but it isnt like I have a ton of urgent things to do. I do have a lightbulb that needs replaced that I forgot to get while I was there, so I have to go back anyway.
Helpful and knowledgeable staff..Definitely worth your first (only) stop for home improvement items. (Especially the complicated How the hell do I fix this? type problems!)
Paid for a special order. Went to pick it up curbside in Algonquin and the service was horrible to say the least! Checked in like email instructed yet still had to call the store. Woman that came to car did not have mask on (was around her neck), tossed pick up receipt at me and then did not even putmerchandise into car or ask if we needed help! Will not give Algonquin Home Depot my business EVER again!
Store is always in good shape and well organized the only problem I find in the store is the product quality is going down the tubes. Everything is Husky brand or made of plastic in China. You cant find many quality tools there anymore.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff at this location. Always have a pleasant experience here.
Bought new storm door and first time I used it it broke. Not happy
Went in to order new carpet the young lady was amazing. Set up an appointment for them to come measure for today, them come out and the guy tells me my measurements will be at the Home Depot by noon. I go to Home Depot to place the order and my amazing girl is not there. ( no biggie so I thought). I give the lady my name and she tells me oh we won’t have them till Monday. I ask her to look she proceeds to tell me we have 3 minutes. Okay I’ll wait. Still not in the system at 12:15 so I ask can you call them? She does gets my measurements and tells me my price. So before I pay I ask when will this be scheduled for install? Her reply was I can’t give you that but you will be put on the list. So I ask will it be two weeks, three weeks or 6 months? She continued to tell me she doesn’t know but I will be put on a list, so I ask doesn’t everyone go on the list? Needless to say I got aggravated and said cancel my order. So I walk away. Than I thought I want my print out of my measurements so I got back to her 5 minutes later and she tells me oh I don’t have them you can call them to see if they will give them to you. At this point I’m livid and ask for a manager. So John comes up and tells me the measurements belong to them and we cannot have them, so I proceed to tell him I paid $20.00 for them to come out and measure my home. He tells me you signed the paperwork. Okay no problem so I loose $20.00 no biggie!I get into my car and look at my emails and lord and behold I have a email with my measurements from the company who did them today.Due to your rudeness you actually lost out on a $2800 sale and Luna thanks you for that!!
I love that all the employees try to help you and are very friendly. The manager Mike is great and is always willing to help the customer. I love the location and the hours. They have so many things in this store its ridiculous. My home Depot is the best place to shop for everything and anything.
Love love love Home Depot. Seems like Im here once every 2 weeks for various items. I must say that I do prefer Menards, but this location is closer to my home, so I stop here frequently. They usually have exactly what Im looking for. I think the real stars of this review are the staff. They are always super helpful and honest.
Home Depot always have what Im looking for and I love the veterans discount on all purchases.
Great Team
Well run clean store. Nearby, and easy to get in and out of.
W are looking for cabinets and we find the best price here
I have never had a bad experience at this Home Depot.
Excellent customer service. You have a question or need assistance, there is always someone to help.
This is my go to store when I need anything for home or work. Friendly and helpful staff. Store is always clean, alot of parking.
Very nice clean store Mike the manager is outstanding he helped me out tremendously when I purchased a new refrigerator, things got delayed a bit due to the wearhouse, but Mike took excellent care of me. Thats what I call exceptional customer service. Keep up the good work. Ill definitely be back for my next big appliance purchase
The employees are helpful and knowledgeable! Bought all my paint and supplies and blinds from them. The blinds were delivered in a timely manner and were perfect. Everyone is so helpful. I even buy all my garden needs including bedding plants from them every year! Excellent management team makes for great employees!
Great people, selection and prices. Employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. They will go out of their way to accommodate your request. Daily specials are a great way to save.
I walked in doubtful that Home Depot would have the items I needed for my cleaning business. To my surprise, both the variety of products and the attentiveness and knowledge of their staff are impressive. Looking forward to finding another excuse to shop there again 🤗
