Took my starter (in pieces) from a 40s Ford 8N tractor. The armature had slipped out during removal. Brushes were shot. Dropped off at about 10:30 with no idea of how long it would take to repair and reassemble. Got a call at 1:30 that it was ready to be picked up. New brushes and back together the same day! Gotta say that I was thoroughly impressed with their knowledge and service. Called on Mon to get a price and dropped off the starter on Tues at 11am. He quoted a price that was a 1/4 of the price of a new starter for my Harley. Starter was ready about 3 hours later and cranks better than it ever has! I would suggest this place to anyone I know. If you love your car, go here. I drive an SUV with over 200k miles on it and the alternator died on a recent drive down to Illinois. I made it to a dealership thinking theyd be the best place to fix that and diagnose some other weird stuff that was happening. The dealership had my car for a WEEK while I was out of town and barely looked at it, then told me theyd need to replace a $600 computer before even CHECKING the alternator. So I looked around for another shop and found DC Power. This is the real deal. Rob listened to me tell the whole story (sometimes all those little details really do matter) and treated my car like it was his own. The alternator was rebuilt and we thought we were good to go, but we kept getting a warning light. Rob spent hours with me and my husband diagnosing, testing, replacing our serpentine belt, and rebuilding the alternator two more times because the electrical system in the car was messed up. He went way above and beyond, even making a trip to our relatives house to help us look over all the possible issues and solve the problem once and for all, getting us back safe and sound to Minnesota. You dont find people, especially mechanics, like that very often these days, and when you do theyre like gold.

I recently had my alternator go out on my Mustang, and while looking for a new replacement I was told about Scott over at AGS Rebuilders. I gave Scott a call and he said he could help. I was a little hesitant on having it rebuilt over purchasing a new one, but after talking with him I could tell he knew his stuff. I took my Alternator there on a Friday afternoon and it was ready for pickup on the following Monday after he was able to get the part he needed delivered. He was even able to upgraded the internals, so now its a more powerful alternator. All of this, for like a 1/3 of the price of a new unit. I was very happy with the service and the amount of time it took. The rebuilt unit is installed and the car is running with out any issues. I can even tell that my headlights are a little brighter haha. Id highly recommend Scott to anyone.

I have had 3 cars taken to Rob for various issues. Each time he has diagnosed the problem, fixed it quick and had a reasonable price. The care and attention he has paid to especially my foreign cars is second to none.

Greg took great care of me today. $70 for a totally rebuilt Nissan starter. Done in about 20 minutes.Nissan wanted over $300. Parts store wanted $140. Store is nothing fancy but the work is solid and the guys fast, honest, very fair and convenient.

He is never open has had my alternator for 5 days.... Doubt I will get it back there is a place in Elgin that does it Ill just go there from this point forward

I was in a major time crunch. A major auto parts store tested and said my starter was fine. Replace the battery and put the starter back in an nothing. Brought my starter to DC at 930 he showed me it was trashed Inside. He rebuild it and called me at 10:15 saying it was some. Put it in and it died right up. These guys are AWESOME, please patronize these guys you will not be sorry!!!!!!

Went Way above and beyond tracking down a very tricky alternator problem and got me back on the road. I was so impressed I seriously would stand outside with a sign urging people to go there. Give them a try!

Great place! Not the biggest shop in the area by any means but the Mechanic is very experienced and his rates are very fair!I have had him do work on our Ford, GM, Chrysler, and VW models and each time it has worked out well and we saved alot of money compared to what it would of cost us at the Dealer!
