Really fabulous store. Many environment friendly goods, Friendly staff, & fantastic gift ideas. I even found something cute and environment friendly for kids.

You can find everything for sustainable living. They have different sections: hygiene and beauty products, produce, herbs and bread, cleaning supplies, gardening, dry foods on bulk and even kombucha, beer and wine on tap.I am thankful for stores like this. Thank you for all you do for our planet! 🌱

A really cute sustainable grocer / dry goods shop conveniently next to Mishas! I found their grocery selection to be a bit lacking, but their dry goods selection was great. We picked up some pasta, dates, candy, and some other home goods. Using our re-usable shopping bags were convenient as they deducted the weight of the bags from the cost. I personally think they should cut back on the grocer items and increase stock on the dry goods as that was the strong point of the store.

I’m in LOVE with this store! As previous reviews stated they have everything I need including some fresh produce, baked goods, and my favorite vegan cheese Conscious Cultures. This trip we also got shampoo, laundry powder, loose green tea, lentils, and dried mango. We were able to grab the groceries and put together a picnic lunch for Jones Point Park afterwards. Prices were good too! Reminder to bring your own containers, which are tared and given a label that is scanned at checkout- staff was very helpful with this easy system. Can’t wait to come back and try everything.

I was thrilled to find this shop!! Ive been doing my best to buy more mindfully and reduce my plastic waste and its an uphill climb in this DMV Metro area. Mason & Greens is not only a beautiful shop but also packed with lots of bulk groceries as well as non- plastic alternatives to everyday items.

I love the grocery section of this store- lots of bulk options! There is also a nice selection of sustainably packaged personal care items. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that after moving to the DC area from an area with a larger variety of zero waste options, I wish there were more refill personal care items available. The prices are also pretty high for some items compared to other refill shops I have been to. I also asked a question to a staff member about how much to use of a refill item/ how concentrated the item was and the staff member had no idea. Otherwise, it is a great stop and I look forward to seeing it grow.

The process of getting tare and filling up my own containers was pretty straightforward, and the selection is surprisingly good with a lot of staples being offered and even some rare vegan protein items I havent found at supermarkets. The store was small though, and you have to tare for every container of foodstuff, so I imagine its a pain to buy food if it ever gets crowded.

Still gushing over my first trip to Mason & Greens! They carry bulk foods like flours, rice, pasta, lentils... and have a cool kombucha tap. Im looking forward to picking up soap next time. The containers they offer for bulk items and super cute and motivate shoppers to make sustainable choices all the way through. Everything is super reasonably priced. Excited to come back.

I love this store! Relying on them more and more for my groceries, vegetables and toiletries. The store is so pretty and the staff is always friendly and helpful. A much needed addition to Old Town!

Wonderful employees and wonderful mission. Also they carry an amazing cotija vegan cheese from some El Salvadoran women which I highly recommend. Just remember to bring your own containers if possible.

I love this place. Much needed addition to King Street. Charming, cozy ambiance that harkens back to a turn of the century (last century) neighborhood grocer. Surprisingly great produce selection, best tomatoes I’ve ever had! I routinely stock up on bulk dry goods, natural cleaning supplies and all natural grooming products. The medicinal herbs section is fantastic. Also, great book selection. Everything is well curated and the staff is very friendly. The owners are wonderful people. Also had a chance to see their Air BnB above the store. Has to be one of the best Air BnB options in Old Town, location, charm and comfort. Supposedly they will be adding beer and wine soon. Seems like I will be visiting more than once a week now and so should you : )

Love, love, love this store and their ever expanding inventory. This is exactly what Old Town needed and what Ive been waiting for. Everyone working there is always friendly and helpful.I always bring my own containers and their system is so easy to manage. Love their mission and helps me getting closer to my zero waste goals!Keep up the great work!

Really fabulous. They were patient with me and my husband as we slowly figured out what we wanted. Very helpful, they are eager to explain what things are, look something up, etc. I appreciated that everyone had masks.

I love this store! The staff were so friendly and helpful. I love being able to get all of my household items package- and plastic-free. The store itself is also very aesthetically pleasing (not that it really matters, just a bonus!). So happy this store exists!!

If you are looking to go more green and reduce less waste, this is the place for you! I am so impressed with the variety of bulk goods available and their lavender cookies are amazing!

Love this place! Such a refreshing store with great selection, great prices and it promotes a great way of life. Waste free is definitely our future and it’s great to see a store like this. Plenty of goodies from ingredients, kombucha, toothpaste tabs, lotion and more. Find a gift for a friend and treat yourself!

I think this is the only Zero Waste store in the area. I go every time I’m in Old Town. I bought some hair ties from them and they have lasted me way longer than any brand I’ve gotten from Target. They have zero waste food as well that’s good.

This store is amazing! I had never been to old town and found this shop by chance. They have so many different ethical and sustainable items from cleaning products to skincare to baked goods and more. The girls working were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back!

We came to this store during the pandemic and the owners were very friendly and professional, today was a big disappointment and certainly didnt care about the customers, she seemed so bored at the desk, not smiling, probably waiting for the week end to arrive. we just asked couple questions about their amber bottles to fill and yet her answers were like nonchalant and seemed uninterested about what we were looking for. customer service in old town is bad enough in so many places already but it is sad to see new businesses open during a pandemic and yet it seems that the rent is too cheap for many of them or perhaps the meony comes too easy .......anyway so long mason & jars,PS to the desk lady: your bottles are amber bottle color not black, you should know that.

I found shampoo and conditioner in bars instead of liquid in a bottle! Great for travel!

Great new shop in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, organic, sustainable and zero waste! Love their unique items such as the Beeswax food wrap that breathes, cloth bags to store your fresh produce, natural wood pot scrubber and Swedish sponge cloths. So easy to order online, quick service. If visiting the store, you can also stock up on dried beans, granola and grocery items (try the unusual flavors of breath mints such as the Lemon Geranium and Matcha Ginger). This shop is a fantastic new addition to the area and so good for the planet!
