This place has great produce and a nice bright setup, but I frequent it on Monday night for their pizza deal and the last few times have shown big problems. I usually love the pizzas from Harris Teeter, and I love their deal on Mondays for any pizza for $7.99. I order mine in advance and usually get some extra shopping in before pick up time, but the last two times out of only four orders at this store, there have been mistakes. The first time I was given grief for being 5 minutes late and was told that someone else took my pizza. Today I put my order in at 5:45pm for pick up at 6:45pm. I came a few minutes early and despite getting a message that my pizza was ready at 6:15pm, it was not ready when I arrived at the spot for pick up. I left without a pizza the first instance, but I wanted one today, so I waited. The person making the pizzas David is not equipped for the amount of orders typically coming in on a Monday night. Adding more help for busy Monday nights would better serve him and customers. The first two times I got pizza from HT on a Monday, there appeared to be two people working that area. And I got my pizza on time and exactly how I ordered it.

I used to go in (and sometimes do for small shopping trips), but for the last 3.5 years have been using their ExpressLane service, and I regret nothing. Being able to shop on the app and pick up is so convenient, and I appreciate how helpful the staff is when something I want is out of stock. Everyone who has brought the groceries out to my car has been so kind. I don’t know if every Harris Teeter is like this, but I feel lucky to have this at my local shop.

Just left the Pharmacy and they refused to give me my medication because they didnt have both prescriptions that were actually supposed to be there on Friday. Today is Sunday. The lead pharmacist on duty said Im not going to give you your medication with an absolutely rude tone. Unbelievably horrible experience 😣

They *never* have enough cashiers at the checkout. It is common to be in the checkout line for upwards of 20 minutes, easily. Self checkout is just as bad.

Im on vacation from Philadelphia to Alexandra, Va . and it has been very nice here! People are friendly of Hi and Good morning and it is very clean and nice to take a walk around to sight see I visited Harris Teeter food market for the first walking there and I have to say I am impress of the store layout and aisle and aisle that are clearly labeled to find what you need! The market is stocked well with everything from produce, cheese of every type as possible, meats that are displayed so nicely and a butcher that special cut of choice! It is very clean and the people that work in store were so nice, pleasant and with greetings in which sure is nice at the time of covid. The prices of items such as laundry detergent, cleaning products, meats, breakfast food, soda, juice, boxed teas of variety. The store is well kept and very clean that is the extra best and welcoming for a new shopper like myself! You will be satisfied if you visit Alexandria, Va. make sure you shop at Harris Teeter it is a great place to shop for groceries!

The store itself is fine and the people are helpful. The self checkout however, is absolute garbage. If you bring your own bags, or need to pack bike panniers and dont want to use a regular cashier just skip Harris Teeter until they fix this system. But dont hold your breath, because its been terrible for years. The self checkout at Giant is great.

I dont have to tell you about Harris teeter very clean very nice staff good pay if someone wanted to work there great benefits great sandwiches did I say more.

Great market. I always make a stop to get bread for the seagulls and geese of orozco park. Definitely quality and affordable products. The only negative aspect is that there is always a wait to pay, not enough cashiers. Other than that issue the market is better than average.

I love Harris Teeter. I live in Jersey and when I come home to DC I always get to one if your stores. My daughters and I went to the store on Asaph st in Old Town Alexandria VA and as always the produce were fresh and the employees were helpful and friendly especially our cashier Ms Deborah who was friendly and warm even though it was a mad house on Christmas Eve. Thank you very much Ms Deborah and my daughter says thank you as well because the Lobster 🦞 roll was delicious 😋.

This review is specifically for the grocery pickup service ($4.95 for the service). I started using this service about 3 months ago and couldn’t be happier with the efficiency of this process. I tried other grocery stores and waited 15+ min but I’ve never waited even 5 minutes at Harris Teeter Old town. My groceries are always fresh and if anything isn’t available, the shopper will call and let me know. I just purchased the yearlong pickup service because I’m so happy with it. Thank you!

Harris Teeter supermarket was clean & well organized leaving adequate space for my cart. As compared to other supermarkets make it difficult for two carts to pass without bumping into merchandise. I, also, found the staff to be helpful & polite. Under ground parking available.

One of th ed fas fast growing stores...clean and fresh...but little bit pricey!!

We went there for the covid vaccine. We walked in filled out the paperwork and received the first shot. Waited 15-20 minutes while walking the store and then left. Very simple and no problems.

Great store for locals. Prices without VIC card are crazy high. Cashiers are incredibly slow. They struggle to keep things in stock. Example. Coke Zero. How do you run out of such a common item.

The lunch that I purchased was tasty and fresh. I tried the sliced pizza and a turkey sub sandwich. I plan trying the rotisserie chicken on my next visit.

This is one of the best stores I shop at in many many years. The associates are very helpful and courteous, the people at the register are considerate and always accommodate my preferences about bagging stuff. They are also very fast and I never found the slightest mistake at the register. In the neighborhood this is the only store that is so big that it has everything one needs. I highly recommend. Thank you for making my shopping experience so pleasant!

Great store... almost on par with Publix.

Full service, up to date grocery, seems to cater to families rather than single individuals. The promotions are often buy 2 get 3 free and the fruit is pre-packaged often in bulk like 3 lb of cherries. The staff doesnt seem too happy (except my favorite cashier, Marvel!). Not judging- I wouldnt be either the store is big, bright, and had an excellent selection. Prices are very high but the weekly specials are good.

One of the nicer branches of Harris Teeter. One bummer was there was no coverage inside the store for AT&T mobile phones. So if youre shopping with someone and you get separated, your best recourse is to go outside the store and wait for each other there.

Great Seafood Department

Really clean, easier to find items than most Harris Teeter. I work for Shipt and this has been one of my top HT in the area.

The Bathrooms were Clean.

Good food quality and decent prices given the area but very slow customer service. they often do not have enough cashiers working and it can be painful standing in line waiting for more cashiers to open up. the catch of the week (their fish) is usually pretty fresh and worth paying the extra money for. the pharmacy has different hours than the grocery store does, usually opening later and closing earlier, which isn’t unheard of. the hot table during the week is usually well prepared, with multiple culinary cultures as options (from Italian to Thai).

Miss having Harris Teeter now that we live in New Jersey. Staff was very nice friendly and helpful and store was very clean

I love shopping in this location, with the help of April, she made the experience so much better, i’ll be back to make my groceries just because the personal is so nice!

I love this Harris Teeter. Theres always plenty of parking in the underground deck and the store is visually appealing, though set up in a weird fashion. It goes without saying that Harris Teeters fresh food is always good.

The register waits can be a little long, but the service is good once you get to the cashier. Departments have excel li lent service. Prices are a bit high but the selection and quality is good. The bakery’s Salted Caramel cake is a hit for family birthday cakes. It’s worth keeping an eye out for weekly specials.

Very clean and organized...the staff always knows the store so well. And they always have so many choices and options for what im looking for whether homegrown or organic they usually have it.

Love the store. It convenient and at times they have some pretty good deals. Store is a bit pricier than some other grocery stores. The self checkout is the worse because usually two or more of their self checkout registers are broken on a regular basis which leads to very long lines. I hope they fixed this issue!

Love the lobster roll. And there is a friendly atmosphere there eg the cashiers. The pharmacy has low prices. However even buying things on sale, I spend too much!

Store needs to implement 6 ft of distancing! There are no signs and other customers just come up to grab what they need without being cognizant of others already in the area. I was at a self check out and an associate brushed up next to me to clear the screen. I didn’t ask for help. Pls educate your staff on 6 ft of distancing n out up signs!!! More awareness and education will help curve contamination!

Interesting location for the store. It is right in the middle of business and residential section. Based on the name I was not sure if it was a grocery store but was pleased. It was neat and clean and reasonably priced. The cashier helped out with one of the deals on the items we purchased. The store was very clean and organized.

It’s filthy! Some of the employees get literally mean if one dares to ask a question while they are talking to each other. Needless to say there is no social distancing happening at this location. Someone please have the management retrained .

This supermarket used to be one of the best in the area, but hasnt kept up with the times in terms of vegan-friendly offerings. In that regard, it lags behind nearby competitors, including Giant, surprisingly. Great hours and parking though.

This place is near my work so it is a great spot to pop in for some hot lunch, salad bar or snacks. I also appreciate that their beer selection is more than adequate (living in Maryland I dont get to see beer in the grocery store). This week I got some cigar city brewing company beers which I didnt know they distributed this far north. Will definitely be back for all of the above.

The salmon on the hot bar during lunch and dinner is incredible. For lunch its usually best to go early around 11-11:30 am. For dinner 4-4:30 p.m.

Long single lines on the weekends. I really don’t understand a store with 13 checkout lanes only having 2 cashiers and self check open. The lines where as long as aisles with little to no social distancing. Besides that, the store was clean just don’t go during peak times

Great location! Open 24/7! I regularly come in here late at night to avoid grocery rushes. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I think this location has been here a while but it was very well kept. There is free parking behind the building specifically for Harris Teeter. The parking spots of large. Great for big SUVS or vans. The items are always organized. This is important to me when I am shopping for multiple items. Labels are large, visible, and obvious.I have gotten deli meat and cheese at their location as well. Staff was helpful. They allowed me to try majority of the meats before I made my decision.

Clean well stocked medium-size grocery store. Very good produce, sushi and meat departments. Bakery is pretty good for a store bakery. We like their bread, rolls and croissants. Not crazy about their pies or cookies. Nice employees. Parking is easy in underground garage. Limited street parking in front and on side of store.

Messy, horrible place. Trash in the aisles. Management is terrible and doesnt care about the state of affairs of their store, who are representating an entire chain.
