Latest and greatest books, their sales right now are insanely good!
This is our go to Barnes and Noble in the area. Friendly staff, clean, organize, and of course a great Starbucks.
An amazing book store with so much to offer. It Hase a Starbucks and a Great selection of books and supplies.
My son of which is 4 wanted to buy a book for his birthday. He was obsessed with finding a Halloween book but had a hard time finding one. The employee that helped us went out of the way to help my son find multiple books and really made him feels special. To me this went beyond the norm and I wanted to let them know how much we appreciate their efforts.
The staff is always nice and willing to assist. There’s a wide variety of books, magazines, etc.
Awesome place with awesome vibes..Ill definitely be coming here more often
Neat store. Staff very helpful.
Always great to chill and read til your hearts content. Get a nice Cup of Joe while you enjoy a great book.
Ive been to a number of bookstores in my lifetime. Big box stores, independent stores, etc. I was only in here for about 15 minutes and I have to say its one of my favorite bookstores. There was a great selection of books in clearance and brand new Blu-rays and DVDs.I was disappointed that I had to pick up my online order in store since I dont live close but I dont regret entering. Just had great vibes, fam.
Wish they had couches to sit and read, but other than that it has a great environment with a wonderful selection of books.
If you want books, Barnes & Noble has you covered! But Barnes & Noble also carries movie DVDs, music on CDs and albums, puzzles, toys and they have Starbucks on hand to feed your cafeine needs too! Its a clean place to include the restrooms. Several new releases are generally 20% off for non-members and 30% off for members. Enjoy!
This location is central to the area. It was clean and organized, just what we would expect of a B and N. Loved it!
Great toys and childrens books. Very helpful staff.
A really good bookstore, theres a Starbuck inside too!
Your usual B & N. Great staff
Love Barnes and Nobles. This one was cleaned and staffed by very friendly people.
Ive been here before. I love how the store is set up. Ill definitely come again.
We went there for a particular item. It was on the shelf. Great experience.
The best place to find what you looking for
Never been there and have never talked to them before but charges were placed on my checking account, I called the store and they did nothing to investigate or help me in any way.
Very well organized bookstore. Loved being able to find any and all books that I was searching for. Also the staff is super helpful and friendly in finding what I need.
Love a bookstore with options. Got games for my niece and nephew with a couple books.
This store has been apart of my childhood since the early 2010s. Im glad to share this place with my daughter. It always positive vibes whenever I go here.
A shopping mall Barnes & Noble, what youd expect. Coffee shop.
Helpful and enthusiastic. Chatted about Harry Potter and comics.
Great service, friendly staff
Very helpful. Lots of options.
I would give 5 stars if it wasn’t for my most recent experience. We love Barnes & Noble and most of my visits have been very pleasant; however, there is an extremely RUDE worker, Eden, who literally came over to us and started yelling “you can’t hang around here, you need to buy your books and leave”. We weren’t being loud or disturbing anyone, and since when can you not look through a book or magazine in Barnes & noble?Very rude women. For someone working in “customer service”, there are nicer ways to ask people to move out of a section of the store, yelling and being rude to paying customers is NOT the way EDEN.
Update your hours online to actually reflect when you open please. It’s super annoying to look online and see you open at 9am only to find out you don’t and I have to either waste time in a parking lot for an hour, waste time in the target down the street, or waste gas doubling back out here later.
Hadnt been to a bookstore in long while, great selection here, some great deals, but rare to find an employee to assist
Great staff, atmosphere and good for reading awesome works!!!
It is still good to have a real book store around. I went in for a book that I needed to enjoy my vacation and wound up buying a ton of gift books. They are a bit pricier than Amazon but being able to physically browse books was great.
This location is not up to standard and expectation. Especially the Starbucks café has terrible staff members. Very slow to provide service. On top of that, very rude and discriminator practice is visible. No customer should be treated the way we were. We come here because it is near our neighborhood however, after the Starbucks staff member mistreated us, we vowed never to return again. They usually do not bother or even go talk to Caucasian customers but black people and POC are definitely treated different by some of the staff members. STAY AWAY from this place! VERY rude and terrible
Its one of my favorite stores I always shop there and buy almost everything there
A great bookstore!
It was a delight to wander about and peruse the many books records and magazines.
Its a nice cozy atmosphere, I really like this store
5 stars! Kind and exemplary customer service.
Great customer service! I get my coffee ground here and the staff is always friendly. Book selection excellent, of course!
Took the kids to get done books. Nice staff and helpful.
They need to learn curbside service from their neighbor Target
Big store, friendly staff!
My happy place 😍And the staff ALWAYS go above and beyond.
It was nice and clean. They were following the social distancing guidelines. I dont get out much.
Had excellent custom service when in Starbucks and when checking out with the cashier name John; professional, and outstanding interpersonal skills!!🏆
Spacious. Fav books Still available even during COVID-19. Really refreshing to see and touch real books 📚
Wide selection of books. Easy service and good prices
The Barnes and Noble at Potomac Yard is a slightly above average Barnes and Noble location primarily because of its large size and large cafe area. It is quite big and the way they design their cafe makes it actually extremely accessible and with a good amount of seating and space. Otherwise it is your standard Barnes and Noble - which means it is quite good.
Lovely staff!
I was pleased that they had a Studio Ghibli section.
Well stocked and fun store. They run a lot of different events, have a pretty good kids section, lots of toys and games, and of course, tons of books. It can get a little crowded feeling during peak hours due to how many books and other merchandise are packed in the store. Not terribly so, save for right before Christmas. There is a cafe at this location. A little on the small side, but its there if needed. A handful of tables for small groups to take advantage of for studying, gaming, etc.
Great customer service
I went in to look for board games to play with friends and i was not disappointed, they have a great selection of party games. The employees were very helpful and friendly. The cashier was very knowledgeable about local policies and events, lots of help thanks!
I hope we always have a great bookstore to go to. Love the smell! Nice people.
I came in there last minute, and they were about to close. But was looking for a specific book.Girls that work there were very nice and took care of my needs. Thank you
In a digital world, its great that this physical store still exists.
They didnt have my book. But I loved the concern and customer service.
Love that this Barnes and Noble is so close to home. We often visit with our kids to browse the books. Often we buy the digital version, but there is something about holding and reading the dust cover before buying the book.
In a time where brick and mortar book stores are slowly becoming extinct, this B and N stands much like an ivory tower before the city of Damascus. Is it the wide open lay out perfect for roaming and perusing....taking pictures to purchase from Amazon later? Who knows? With ample parking and a variety of stores of interest surrounding the venue, its a frequented pitt stop on the way to Regan or back to the proverbial ranch.
John is one of the most unprofessional person I have ever met
Very clean store with knowledgeable employees.
I am so glad I went to this Barnes and Noble at Potomac Yards and not just the one in Falls Church I also love so much. They had a wonderful diary close to what I was looking for on special.I looked on several different occasions at Falls Church that had others things on special I loved and really wanted, but not this.I am so glad I came out on this rainy, cold Saturday evening. It was perfect timing, and the staff as always at both locations are so friendly and helpful. They make me feel so welcome, and I always feel so at home.
Great staff! The kids corner is awesome and theres a huge selection of childrens books. All shelves are usually neatly organized and the variety of cards is just great. Also, the cafe is a nice place to relax! Love coming back!
Absolutely amazing! April, who helped us, was so nice, professional, funny, and genuine. Found my new favorite book store!
Its great to have a traditional bookstore in the age of Amazon. Barnes & Noble for me is more than just the bookstore but an experience for my daughter. Not only does she get to touch and see a variety of books, something that she cant do by going online, But this location hosts reading events for children and which my whole family appreciates.
I dont come here often but when I do, it puts me at ease. I love it so much. We dont need to decrease these beautiful places. We need to save them. There is nothing better than holding a book and reading it. The ONLY mild gripe I have about this location (and probably all) is that you cant use your Starbucks points there. But who cares? I love it. Stop getting rid of bookstores and libraries. We need them. They breathe life and help our children as well.
They have reconfigured the store and made it so much more open for social distancing.
Barnes and Nobles is, and I hope always will be, an excellent bookstore. It is certainly the last. The lights are on while not overwhelming like a box store. There are seats to read and no one bothers you if you choose to do so, also an excellent Cafe. The cafe is a little on the expensive side but its a price worth paying to keep Barnes and Nobles going. There is ample parking so please watch out when Crossing from the parking lot to the store as the street gets very very busy and not everyone watches where theyre going.
Absolutely my favorite location 🤗 so heppful and the remodel looks great
Beautiful store. Cafe nice great pastry choices. Still love a good book.
Its a bookstore, theyre still around! 👍plenty of parking and easy access for wheelchairs ♿ the place smells beautifully of paper when you walk in. i was greeted very pleasantly and asked if i needed help straight away. theres a place for coffee ☕ too - if youre into that. only reason to give it less than 5 stars is for not having my book. its not out yet, so not their fault - haha! 😎
This place was great. I went kinda late, about 3 hours before close. This is a great place to do your homework (like me), reading, or just relaxing with a nice cup of hot chocolate. The staff is very friendly and seem to be knowledgeable if the sections and different authors. I will definitely be back.
Nice cafe
I love visiting this store! The staff are always friendly and its never really very packed. They also have a Starbucks and little cafe that is really nice, unfortunately you cant use your Starbucks account there, but that was fine for me.
Wonderful place for good tea and coffee, children. Story telling is so much fun. Mom can pick up a favorite book too.
Love that there is still a bookstore around these days to go in peruse the titles. Love the after Christmas sales and the nice selection. The staff is always very friendly although the coffee bar staff, although super friendly, is a little slow. Still its a nice reminder to slow down and enjoy the books.
Complete and safe shopping fly opened.
Great book store with real books, magazines and a whole lot more. Places to sit and flip through reading materials. Wide variety of child oriented books, toys and games. And their is a Starbucks which was awesome and quite busy! If you have never been to Barnes and Noble, do so as soon as you can!
Awesome bookstore glad its still here, so many have closed. Good staff!
The customer service at this location is fantastic. I was approached by several of the employees asking if I needed help. I ended up needing help to find a specific book and they were so friendly and quick to point me in the direction. Each section is easily ordered and clearly categorized.
The Barnes and Noble exclusives keep making me come here. As a Star Wars nerd, Barnes and Noble sells books with exclusive posters and sometimes covers and if you buy books as a new release, Ive been able to get up to 30% off as a Barnes and Noble member.
Thanks for holding the last book for me!
This is a great store. The selection is large and varied. The people treat you great and are very knowledgeable. This is where I buy books.
Friendly staff members. They were knowledgeable about their products. When asked if they had what i needed, the staff member brought me my product.
Nice, but Starbucks didnt have nearly enough outlets for all of those working there.
Still same old Barnes n noble
Well kept store. Courteous staff. Easy to get around in it despite the Christmas crowd. Wonderful selection of books.
Starbucks was very fast paced and their cinnamon bun cheesecake was absolutely delicious!! Staff was so very friendly, they provided such a welcoming atmosphere! We had needed help finding a book and Cards Against Humanity and this one lady who I didnt catch a name sadly, she had helped me find my book online and order it since they didnt have it in stock, she also explained the membership very sweetly and showed us where the game was! When we were a little upset that they didnt have the original pack, she went out of her way and grabbed more and found us to give it to us! We thought that was the sweetest thing in the world! Then for check out, our cashier, Marcus, was very friendly, he joked and made us feel like we were best friends. He was very helpful and he means well. We enjoyed this place and will be coming back very soon!
Being a book nerd, bookworm, whichever way its coined, I was definitely disappointed with this venue. I thought Id see some comfy couches, comfortable chairs, something...but all I saw scattered around the store were wooden, hard chairs. Really?? Can we at least get a seat cushion....something!??The store is pretty big, including a cafe to the right of the entryway. I was quite excited, but after walking around the store, with my books in hand, I soon realized that the kid section had better seating than that for paying adults. Terrible. Again, so disappointed. I am used to Borders (RIP), with great seating, for those that enjoy reading for hours on end. I cant deal right now. Sheesh.Come on Barnes & Noble....yes, you are competing with digital technology, but for those that still enjoy the physical touch of paperbacks, and perusing aisle after aisle, you can try and make the experience much better. :( No one wants to sit on hard chairs.
I love reading hardcover books in spite of the availability of ebooks. There arent many places left that sell them. I really hoped at Barnes & Noble keep going but Im not sure how they can. When they followed the only thing left will be libraries.
Barnes & Noble Is The Greatest Bookstore In Alexandria, VA
I went into barnes and noble to get to Starbucks. But overall the store was clean and neat. Very well put together!
I love a good brick and mortar book store. I prefer to shop at local and smaller ones, but sometimes Barnes and Noble pulls me in. This particular location has the most helpful and friendliest staff. I never feel like a burden asking questions here (like I do other places). Prices are a little steep but I always shop the deals.
Come here quite often to work. The Starbucks area is spacious but could use more plugs. They always have the books you are looking for in hand. Kind of a smaller Barnes and Noble.
