Hollin Hall Automotive (HHA) went way beyond excellent service. I had a terrible experience with NTB changing my battery which ended up melting the new battery points, destroying the alternator and blowing out the main fuse, Ron (the General Manager) diagnosed the problem within minutes of my car literally dying in their lot. Within a period of a few days (due to having to order parts) the car was fully repaired. Ron worked tirelessly to help me in dealing with the local NTB to secure remuneration. I will only have my car worked on by HHA in the future. The best car service by far I have ever received !

This place is wonderful. Everybody is courteous, helpful, and reassuring. I appreciate that the technicians keep me informed of whats going on and what options I have, too. They always do a thorough job and give me peace of mind. I never take my Jeep anywhere else. Kudos to Ron and George for all the work they do!

Definitely worth the price. The guys here helped me out with a 4 tire installation, from Tire Rack. Out of the door, this is the best a new set of tires have ever felt before. Perfectly balanced! My like new rims have zero damage from the install.... absolutely awesome.They even cleaned off my spare, and put it all back in the trunk for me.Epic service!

I always have a positive experience at Hollin Hall. The staff are professional and knowledgeable. I like the fact that they have all the most modern equipment and software to properly service my BMW. I feel confident that the work performed is done correctly.I had a wheel alignment done, and while I was surprised at the cost I was definitely impressed to hear the steps taken to get the car in exact alignment as prescribed by BMW.I also like the print out of the wheel/tire mounting and balancing. You get to see the specs on each wheel and tire to check if there is an issue with either the tire or wheel. The Hunter equipment they use really produces a smooth ride.If you live in the Alexandria, Arlington, or Fairfax area I highly recommend Hollin Hall. They will even give you a courtesy ride to the metro or home/work if close by.

I was recommended to Hollin Hall Automotive through a co-worker. When I emailed, and called Hollin Hall Automotive I had described the issue I was having with my 06 Ram 1500. When speaking with Marc he was professional and honest to include keeping me informed of the progress of my trucks rear differential rebuild and replacement of my radiator and radiator hoses. If you want an honest assessment and honest repair then Hollin Hall Automotive is YOUR place of business. Marc was able to do the rebuild for little less than originally thought, and went above and beyond. A special thanks to the mechanical technicians that helped put the drive back in Red. I personally recommend this shop if you are looking for a shop who goes out of their way to work with their customers and then some!

I needed a significant amount of work done on my 2008 Lexus RX350 in December. I selected Hollin Hall based on google reviews, and their work was impeccable. Mark was very patient in explaining all details of the work estimate and answering my questions. They also dropped off the vehicle at my home when I was not able to make it there in person to pick it up. They trustworthy professionals who exceeded my expectations. Fantastic work.

I brought in our 2001 van for service and Hollin Hall assessed its problems for me. They gave me a fair and reasonable quote for the work, but didnt necessarily suggest that I have the work done. After talking it over with them, I choose not to have the work done at this time. They were understanding of my decision and, in fact, encouraged it. We have been going to them since 1978, and feel that they are exceptionally honest, respectful, and easy to work with.

Staff always knowledgable. Rates are good and rewards program very helpful. Periodic reminders of necessary work a plus for me. Convenient, trustworthy, could not say enough about.

I called to get an estimate of a few things done to my car. The employee said that he doesnt do over the phone quotes unless it is pretty basic. I said I needed only a few things and he quoted me a price that was double what most places charge. I also felt that he was mansplaining me and he was rather rude. Then I said thank you and he abruptly hung up on me!! Do not recommend if you arent familiar with cars.

Another solid experience. After the mechanics did a thorough check on my vehicle to find the issue, Mark gave me a call and took his time walking through everything to make sure I understood what was needed to be repaired and the reason why. Mark then worked with my auto warranty company by calling on three different days to finally get through and have them help cover the cost of the total repairs. Talk about good luck! After getting gas (HH Auto is also a Shell station), my 12 year old Honda Element would not start. It had been acting weird lately. Ron and the guys checked out the electrical system and determined the problem was with the starter. “Sam” replaced it in few hours. Their work is guaranteed for two years. Had been a locally owned family service station for decades (not sure if it still is). The staff have been a great help even if you need little things done like a tire plugged, theyll stop what they are doing to help you out so you can get on your way. Pumps are self service. I havent had my car serviced there other than an oil change now and again so I cant offer much more on that.

Quality ExcellentWe have use HHA for multiple cars over many, many years and have always received friendly, reliable service. I went to dealership to get an estimate for replacing my hyundai 2017 rear break pads and rotors today. Dealers are known for Rippoff spots. I found Hollin on line and called them. Their price was ridiculous! although the owner said they dont quote on the phone! but cm on! how much could that price be off? i would rather go to the dealer then.

My wife brought in her 2000 BMW with about 190K miles, making noises, and wobbly steering. The Hollin Hall team quickly figured out what needed to be done to ensure it passed inspection and was safe, and what could wait.till later. Since fixing the steering system required an alignment and another repair, which we could have waited on also required alignment, they helped make the 2nd repair more affordable so we could avoid a 2nd alignment later in the year. The repairs were done much more quickly than expected. Hollin Hall stands behind their work and weve been bringing our cars to them for over 15 years.

Theres always an issue. Its gone from refusals to provide quotes unless your car is actually on the lift, attempts at charging hundreds of dollars for work that takes 45 mins, charging us wrong amounts, mixing up customers bills and quite frankly pushy service advisors. Dealing with the dealership would be easier.

I brought a VW 2010 beetle in for a pre-purchase inspection. I was in the market to buy a beetle earlier this year. The shop did the inspection and told me the pros and cons with the beetle. I got the beetle and now get it maintained with Hollin Hall Automotive. I like Ron and Marks professional work ethics. They are kind, professional and knowledgeable. Disappointed. Got car into the station early Tuesday morning for 70K maintenance, got a call that day that parts had to be ordered for steering, promised car back Wednesday after install. Got a call Wednesday to be informed part not delivered on time, so it would be another day. Then got a call late Thursday, saying wrong part ordered. It would be another day wait and also told car could not be picked up for overnight use because it wasnt drivable.Thats what I call a hosed job.

I use Hollin Hall for regular service of two autos. Recently I had them do a major service (i.e. replacing a timing belt plus related stuff) and I thought they were excellent. They did the work that needed to be done and didnt push for unnecessary add ons.

I was initially reluctant to take my vehicles to HHA based on rumors of over-priced work but eventually I took the plunge and am very glad I did. They are not only a local business but also live in the neighborhoods nearby. Their equipment is better than any dealer and their technicians are second to none; they will do anything to diagnose any issue and if they cant work on it (very rare) will find a qualified service shop and take/return your car for you. Their labor costs may be a bit more than others but I have not researched and frankly dont care. Their warranties on parts and labor are the best Ive ever seen! Ive never used the Tire Rack process so that is one aspect I will have to explore. I understand there are customers who come from West Virginia to have their cars serviced here... makes sense since they are now my one and only service center.

June 2013: Brought our Caravan in again in late June. They quickly diagnosed and fixed problem. Im pressed with their can do attititude and friendliness. I/we will be back! 5 stars this time!!!July 2012: I was refered to HHA by a friend after becoming disappointed with my longtime service place. Brought our 1997 Dodge Caravan in to check on an AC issue and a stalling problem. They communicated well with me but it was determined that after a freon charge the AC issue was too expensive to fix for an older car (I appreciated their honest recommendation) and the stalling problem couldnt be determined after some computer diagnostics. A little disappointed in spending over $300 with no problems solved. However, could just be the way it is. Trying to keep the van running for hauling items to/from our beach house in the OBX during the off-season despite the AC problem. I plan to go back and give them another try with other issues/cars and see if they live up to the reputation shared by my friend and other reviews here. If so, Ill be back and write a better review! They seem like good folks. (3 Stars this visit and will re-review when/if I go back).

Problems diagnosed were much more serious than I suspected from hearing a soft crunching noise. Repair was prompt and solved the problem, but it was very expensive.

They did a great job and were very informative, a little pricey, but they do discount for military (including veterans) and are very professional, so its definitely worth the little extra you might pay.
