Shes a wonderful and very talented. She made me custom window coverings for my vehicle which were absolutely perfect. She also informed me that she does specialized tailoring for days particularly gays whom dress and drag womens clothing. I was quite impressed with that and I will also now have her do extensive tailoring for my gay drag female clothing female clothing as well. I highly recommend and strongly suggest that if you have any type of alterations or custom tailoring to be done that you please contact Kathy because I have had other tellers in Albuquerque and none of them compare to the excellent service and skills of Kathy

Kathy worked on my wedding dress. A little background on my dress. It was an heirloom handed down to me from a friend who’s been like a mom to me. She was married in the early 1990s. Entirely lace and entirely beaded and had a 8-9 foot train satin with beaded accents. It was 80s/90s style and Kathy modernized it beautifully. She took out the poofy shoulders, customized the neck line, added a beautiful tulle mermaid bottom and also removed the poofy train too. She was so patient with me considering I went up and down in my weight throughout the process. Excellent prices. I highly recommend her. A little advice before you choose any seamstress for your special day, make sure you are fully loaded with patience this is a process you do not want to rush. Take your time and try to enjoy it. It goes by so fast.

Great hem up work.

I took the seat bottom of an office chair whose fabric and a bit of foam was falling apart to get reupholstered. I got an estimate of 1 week. It didnt get completed for 4 WEEKS and me having to call several times with is it done yet?. And what she did wasnt even to fix the problem, it was to create a band aid. What she said she was going to do is remove the old upholstery, patch up some new foam where it was falling apart and creating and permanently attaching a new fabric cover. What she actually did is just create a slip on fabric cover with a drawstring and did nothing to the original seat bottom at all. So I spent $32 and waited 4 weeks borrowing a friends office chair for a duct tape solution I could have bought on amazon for $12 and received it 3 and a half weeks earlier.I understand jobs sometimes take longer than expected, but 4 times as long? And maybe she works more with clothes than furniture fabric, but if she takes on a job I expect it to be done right and timely or refuse the job. Its acceptable to say, sorry this isnt my expertise and I could have taken it elsewhere. To sum it up, making promises she cant deliver on and complete inability to do something in a timely manner.

I like shopping for clothes, but what I do not like is trying on a great dress or a pair pants and then looking down and they are too long. You k ow that feeling! What am I do to. Lucky I found Kathy her services were amazing and affordable. She took care 10 set of pants and shirts for me. Why buy when you can hem or take that favorite shirt.She is amazing. Next time you come across a favorite dress, pant, shirt and it does not quite fit.Take along and and bring to Kathy’s you won’t be disappointed when you look at the woman/men in the mirror.

Kathy and her staff are super professional and do amazing work. I (figuratively) drooled all over their sewing machines. For those who are concerned about the clutter of the shop... Well, it looks like every other good seamstresses shop/creative space Ive ever been to. Would you expect to go into a painter and not see paint? Fabric takes up a lot of space people. Anyway, they were super nice, and gave me my dress back better than I got it to begin with. The length and newly installed invisible zipper were perfect!

I just needed some pants hemmed a little bit and it was only $8!!! I dropped them off Wednesday, she said they’d be ready by Friday, she got them to me early on Thursday! Flawless work, super kind, do not be worried about the location or when you go inside and it’s a little disorganized - she’s great. There were even military people dropping off uniforms they needed altered while I was there getting my pants fitted.

I thought Kathy did a great job! I took my wedding dress to her, and am very pleased with her work. I intended to get the dress hemmed (it was too long), but at the first fitting she suggested other alterations that definitely improved the overall fit of the dress. However, take whatever you needed altered in EARLY! Way before you need it. It took about a month and a half (three fittings) to get my dress back, so take it to her early. Also, Id recommend calling her to follow up on the progress, just as a gentle reminder. She seems quite busy...

Always does good work. Dont let the condition of the building fool you. Kathy is an excellent seamstress. She has skills not seen in this market. Even if you are not sure if you should keep that garment, ask her before you toss it out.

I have taken several things in the past and I was happy. We took a jacket in to be altered. I was charged $65 for a $50 jacket. It looked so bad that I still will not wear it. It looks hideous. Sewing elastic in the waist only made it look like a puff ball.

I just called moments ago after after calling 5 other places to have my military uniform good to go for a personal emergency that I have to attend on Saturday. Today my mom went to get a quote to see how much Kathy would charge us to do my Bridesmaids dresses, her dress, and also my wedding dress her home was very cluttered, fabric was everywhere, you could hardly walk in to the room and this started at the front door! Kathy told my that it would be 35.00 dollars for my sister in laws dress and when my mom showed Kathy her dress she stated where do you want it altered my mom stated the length it is to long she was VERY RUDE!! the home was so bad that she didnt even want to open my dress to ask her because there was NO where to put it down and she didnt want it ruined! my mom then said never mind i will get back to you when you are in a better mood and left. I wouldnt even give this a star but it wont allow mt to post this review if i didnt pick a star!

The first time I came here I dropped off 3 pair of pants and they were ready the next day. I was so pleased that I decided to come back and have a dress hemmed. After waiting over a week I called and she said shed call me back. She didnt so I called a couple days later and she didnt know what dress I was talking about. She ended up finding it saying it wasnt done but she would finish it that day so I told her Id come pick it up the next day. The next day I went in and she asked me if I had any errands to run in the area because she wasnt done. I said no, that I would wait. When I got home the dress was still too long and still dragged on the floor. I didnt want to judge the store by its messy appearance but after this experience I do this she is very unorganized and will not be coming back.
