I give her a one star because the candy was pretty good. Otherwise, I didnt need her tirade on why her shop defies the law and doesnt wear masks during a pandemic and why she doesnt believe the science of vaccine efficacy. I can make a good guess on where she gets her misinformation. Avoid this shop unless you want to get covid.
I went here on my trip to Albuquerque and Im SO glad I did! I met the owner and had a really nice conversation with her. There are soooo many options of candy to choose from! Definitely try the while chocolate pepper fudge! I also loved the chocolate covered peaches.
Very welcoming and hospitable. Must see attraction in Old Town Albuquerque!
Buy a piece of Divinity immediately. Do not pass go. Do not be distracted by Jesse or Walt. After said Divinity has been eaten, make sure to grab a photo with Blue Sky on the back. Then take your time perusing all the delicious candy, nuts, and x-rated candy. The owner is so friendly and helpful. She is shipping all the candy I bought and my kids already are excited to receive it! She is so knowledgeable and friendly - customer service that reminds you of forgotten times. This is a must visit place when in Old Town Albuquerque!
Always has been the go to place for candy in Albuquerque. Hands down the very best!
Cute store. I wish that I had given the time it deserved. I didnt buy anything, but my sisters did. I tasted what they bought: hard sour candies, fudge, and even bite size peanut butter cookies, were all delicious.
Fun place to check out! Friendly and helpful staff, cool products offered (be sure to check out the 18+ room) and even had fudge out for free tasting. Fun experience for all ages!
Its a must see for anyone visiting Old Town Albequerque. You wont walk out empty handed!
Super friendly family-owned place. This place is been in Albuquerque For as long as I can remember. When I was a little kid my mom worked here and I fell in love with the place. Was recently back in town for a graduation and had to stop by, the fudge is still just as good as it was back then
Loved this place! Located within Albuquerques Old Town, just up the road from the central plaza, this quaint shop has an amazing selection of different sweets and candies available. Fudge, chili-infused chocolates, cherry cordials, chocolate-covered Oreos, peanut butter sweets - this place has everything!Personally, I was particularly fond of their orange-infused fudge, but you really cant go wrong with anything here.As an added bonus, if youre a Breaking Bad fan, youll have more reason to visit here, as this is where the shows blue meth was actually made. They have a cute room near the back of the store where you can take pictures with trays of the blue rock candy, along with colourful aprons, fedoras, and shades if you want to go full Heisenberg. They sell little bags of the blue candy for $1, or larger bags for $10.Great stopover for anyone in the area that has a sweet tooth! The staff here were also SO friendly and helpful, so kudos to them.
If I could give The Candy Lady 10 stars, I would. I was looking for something special for my mom for her birthday and, since it is a holiday, no one was delivering. Not only did the owner deliver delicious candy that my mom absolutely loved, but she also grabbed a bouquet of flowers for my mom and delivered those as well. She went above and beyond my expectations and made my mom very happy on her special day. I have also actually been to The Candy Lady store, when we were visiting my parents in Albuquerque in the past, and they do have several delicious and unique options. We will definitely get more sweets and treats from them again.
So I havent been to The Candy Lady candy store in quite a while five Stars tho⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just caz The candy lady her self she is very welcoming and has the best attitude and coustmer service and there is always some sort of samples if u want to try something and if there is not just ask IAM sure she will be glad to let u try out something ... but um so she has her own parking lot know.. So u dont have to park in the street or in the paid parking area, So I guess she opened up the parking lot about a year ago so just a F.Y.I if you wanted to go by and get some candy or a sweet treat for your self or as a gift also remember that The Candy Lady Sells that candy Meth from the Breaking Bad show along with Tee-shirts and stuff that have to do with the show and she also sell the tickets for the Breaking-Bad Rv tour.. I would suggest her candy shop to anyone who loves candy she is the best Candy Shop in Town no ifs ands or buts about it lol 😄😀💯💪😁☺️😊😃🤩😍🥰🍭🍬🍫!!!!
Free pictures with Breaking Bad cut outs of stars, best candy variety, their own parking lot in Old Town what more can you ask for.
We stopped by the Candy Lady in Old Town to pick up some Breaking Bad memorabilia. The staff are really helpful and friendly. I purchased some Pollo Hermano T-shirts and some blue rock candy. You can also sign up for the Breaking bad tour at their shop. I enjoyed their free samples of fudge infused with red and green Chile. Worh the visit.
Great fudge. Besides blue meth candy, this candy lady makes some good treats! But of course, as a fan of Breaking Bad, thats why we really stopped was the little blue bags from the cooker! Great shop with tons of BB souvenirs, let the staff know u are a fan and maybe gain access to the back room for prop pictures! And try the candy, all the chocolate was super good!
A candy store with wide variety. They have samples of fudge. Try the green Chile chocolate fudge. AMAZING!
Best candy in the state of New Mexico....Heavenly delicious....Awesome staff and amazing owner of the place...Certainly leads by example and has an incredible staff...all so personal and helpful...Top notch !!!Truly a 5 diamond rating...!!!
Dangerous to pocketbook and waistline, but 100% worth it. Divine candy, fun stuff, and funny items about the Breaking Bad tv show. the little Crystal Blue rock candy is adorable and the raspberry creme was wonderful. And they have a HALF a full case of items that are sugar free, so go on in anyway! Totally not crowded on a Tuesday.
Too crowded but fantastic fudge!
I love this place. Such great and fun candy. They have everything from great homemade chocolate creations to the blue stuff you saw in Breaking Bad, in rock candy form of course. They also have all sorts of Breaking Bad items from tee-shirts to coffee mugs and Pez dispensers. A must stop if you are in the area. Everyone in there is super nice was well. Stop in and say hello!
They have a nice little setup for Breaking Bad fans. The owners were very friendly and loved to chat. The store is very clean and easy to find. They have a good assortment of sweets to choose from. They also have a good variety of souvenirs to choose from. Its a nice little place that is worth checking out, especially if you are a Breaking Bad fan.
We have been coming to her since she was on Broadway best candy Burque hasThank you Debbie for always making us welcomed
Best sugar free chocolate I have found
Awesome shop. Variety to satisfy any craving. The staff here is super helpful and friendly. Cakes available for all occasions not to mention breaking bad gear.
Great lil mom and pops candy store. Had some really cool flavors and options to choose from
The candy lady is the best very friendly lots of samples some of the best chocolate on Earth they also will take pictures of you in the back like breaking bad every time I go to New Mexico I stop here
They refused to wear a mask. Not a single employee in the store wore one in February at the height of the pandemic and when I politely asked why none of them wore masks the owner told me if I don’t like it I don’t have to shop there. Yeah. I didn’t and I won’t. Crazy, entitled, selfish and non hygienic is not how I roll.
All I can say is WOW. I always use to love coming here for a treat but my recent experiences here have been terrible. First of all WE ARE IN A GLOBAL PANDEMIC!! I could not believe the amount of workers with no masks in there. It is so sad to see this knowing how many people are dying everyday. The girl said she was new was that her excuse for no mask? Then another man came in with no mask again. There was people talking very loud in the back then I asked for dark chocolates and they gave me milk. I don’t know what is going on with this place.
Great place to get To get chocolate cover strawberries
Great place to stop for fudge and candy, breaking bad stuff all around
Best candy in town. Some awesome memorabilia from Breaking Bad! Im so happy that they offer shipping too! I can stock up when Im not in town. I HEAVILY recommend visiting here if you havent already.
Very good selection and service. Managed to get in and out quickly with a bunch of people in there before us.
I wish I had gotten the cashiers name, she was such a kind woman! I’m happy we got our breaking bad candy and you can just tell she loves her job! Thanks for making mine and my husbands day!
Owner requires patrons to wear a mask but refused to protect them and employees by wearing one as well. If shes not willing to keep me safe while I support her local business, Ill never buy from her again.
The shop is absolutely fabulous ♥️ it is always my go-to when I am in Albuquerque.
Ordered online the owner coordinated with us on a pickup time that would work for both of us. Went today and got our goodies. Quick service, and great attitudes from employee. We had a question about the packaging but they answered our questions promptly. One of ABQs best!!!
Visited on 2/13/21 Saturday before Valentines Day, the order we called in 2 weeks prior WAS NOT READY, we specifically asked for them to be ready on Saturday. To make matters worse, many EMPLOYEES WERE NOT WEARING MASKS! Even some candy makers in the back!!!! There was a store full of people also frustrated because they were waiting in the chaos. I didnt want to argue with a room full of people and the order was already pre paid so we waited very frustrated and took our order. I WILL NEVER BE COMING HERE AGAIN. I ADVISE YOU DONT EITHER.
If you love candy as much as Breaking Bad, this is an absolute must stop in Old Town Albuquerque. The staff is very helpful. Irena provided extra special assistance helping us find what we were looking for. When she found out we were BrBa fans she set us up with a surprise photo shoot with Walt and Jesse (cutouts) helping them weigh and bag some genuine Bad Candy Lady blue ice.
Great place to park and start a walk around Old Town, beginning with a bag of sweets!
A must visit location for any fan of Breaking Bad as the Candy Lady is the provider of the blue meth used in the show. The store has LOTS of yummy sweet treats, and kudos to the Candy Lady for including her brand on all of the Breaking Bad merchandise.
Right now due to covid it is one person in the store at time, but the staff was super nice and everything we tried was incredibly delicious! I highly recommend the Peanut Butter crunch! Their fudge was also some of the softest and creamiest Ive ever had.
The owner and her entire staff refuse to wear masks in a pandemic. No gloves either. And they have a real attitude about it. It is extremely unsafe and they handle your candy with their unhygienic hands. Spare yourself the deadly disease and go to either of the other very good candy stores in Old Town or to Theobroma. They are also overpriced and rely heavily on the gimmick of a tv show that ended years ago.
I never been at this place but I think this represent a child killer called the candy lady named claren crane(I think the place might be good so 5/3
I called because covid has closed a lot of places down..... they not only were willing to open the store early they also made sure to call me back leave a message and let me know they had opened.... if that aint customer service I dont know what is.... the limitations on designed breaking bad shirts kinda bothered me but the show has been over for some years. they had a design on a shirt that I liked but not in my size
They have tons of candy to choose from. They also have a breaking bad section of the store where you can buy blue meth they have an erotic candy section which is just great and a whole area for chocolates. They book tours out of the chocolate shop for breaking bad. They take you in an rv and show you the set buildings around Albuquerque.
Come here every year for the holidays when I visit my grandparents. My favorite place in the world. So many special memories. Thank you so much for the hospitality.
Super weird experience- walked in and was asked where I was from, responded Chicago. That was followed by several intense comments about how much she hated our mayor (evidently because she’s black and a lesbian), and was then told that Covid isn’t that scary and we shouldn’t worry about wearing masks. This lady at the counter wasn’t wearing a mask while handling the candy. I don’t need a political conversation while buying candy and I took my business elsewhere.
The Candy Lady is very special part of Albuquerque and I would say New Mexico in general. She blesses us with her beautiful and yummy treats. She always has samples and popa smile ob her face. When we have visitors from out of state. Its a must to take them here. There is something for everyone at The Candy Ladys. Many of you us dont know but she is originally from Oklahoma. Im so thankful she ended up here in New Mexico Albuquerque would not be the same without her!
Make sure to ask for the breaking bad photo op! Fun, cute place to visit!
Best Fudge in Old Town
What a fun and hilarious visit. Met the owner Debbie Ball and the lovely lady behind the counter. Friendly and I loved the x rated chocolate! Reminded me of the exotic baker of NYC from the 1970s. You will always win me over with dark chocolate marzipan. Delightful and 😋. Dont walk run!!!!!!
If you like licorice, this is the place to go.
Yummy candied apples
Cute place! Love the Breaking Bad gift ideas. They sell the famous blue candy in reference to the show lol. Some come with tumblers or shot glasses with show references on them. They also are sold with boxes that say “Candy Lady” and their location, gift ready! There is a wide variety of candies here. And also an x-rated section that’s pretty funny. This store is located in a part of town with unique shopping and small stores, next to the old Town Emporium.
Knowledgeable staff. Delicious candy & fudge made from scratch.
Its a must-stop if youre there for the Breaking Bad experience. And definitely ask to get pictures with the tray of meth...uhh...candy. just ...just do it.
Just know its a great place.
Very nice and helpful staff. We were able to try a variety of dutch licorice. Has the largest selection of licorice in the state. We found exactly what we were looking for.
Came here a couple weekends ago and they had so much to choose from! I got the amaretto chocolates and I wish I would have gotten more!! Staff was sooo friendly and welcoming. They even came out to help me find my hat that blew away with a bad wind storm. I will definitely stop by here again on my road trips!
Super nice people.
Really tasty place! Lots of variety and very helpful! For the Breaking Bad fans, they made the blue meth prop for the show and you can buy your own!
Was very excited to go to this place as I’m a big BB and BCS fan. Was immediately disappointed upon walking in and being told to take off my mask because “they don’t do anything.” While I ignored the Candy Lady and kept my mask on, I didn’t end up purchasing anything because the prices weren’t great. Went to The Breaking Bad store next door and had a much better experience, prices were better as well.
The homemade fudge, licorice, chocolates, are amazing. The staff is fabulous. This is where the pros for Breaking Bad come from. The owner is charming but she should wear gloves ccx when slicing fudge and placing candy in a bag. The elderly woman who waited on us is a great salesman Bought $50 worth of candy.
Great place to get some of the best homemade candy not to mention a great place to work
I hate leaving unhappy reviews but unless you like Breaking Bad, the store is underwhelming. There was so much Breaking Bad merch that there was hardly any space for candy. They have a rated 18+ section but it is wide open and all they have is a sign saying dont go in unless you are 18+.On a plus side, They have a wide variety of chocolates and chocolate related candy but lack on other candies. Also, one of the ladies was very friendly and enjoyed talking to customers. They make some of there own candy but I was disappointed. The sour hard candy was sadly, not sour. The candy was quite expensive and I was hoping for more. I also bought a stick of rock candy but it was flavorless despite being supposedly lemon flavored. It was also very expensive. Not only was the store over priced, underwhelming, and lacking a wide variety of candy, but they also calculated my purchase wrong and over charged me a bit. I have social anxiety so I couldnt speak up about it.
Love the selection of fudge and other goodies!
Glad I met The Candy Lady. We had an interesting conversation, she is a nice lady. I will be back. Cute little store. I tried the white chocolate covered raspberries, they were so fresh.
Good candy shes the lady that made the prop meth used in breaking bad you can buy for $1 to $10 a bag
Right place to buy candy for Valentines Day or any occasion
Came here to try the blue crystal during a self guided Breaking Bad tour. LOVED the dollar baggies. Gave a humorous photo opportunity. Everything looked amazing. Will come back next time Im in ABQ
Such an awesome and hospitable staff. Very nice people.
