I took my boat to Robert in October of 2019 (before COVID). Extensive repair job included two remanufactured engines, steering, throttle, and shifting cables. COVID closures forced a long delay; but Robert stayed with it, worked with me and got me back on the lake before the end of the season last year. He went the extra mile and worked on the trailer bearings in my front yard on his day off. One engine had an issue with a leaking fuel line, but Robert has promised to get it repaired as soon as weather improves.

I would like to thank Robert and his staff for all the help in getting the classic lund aluminum boat that I bought . I had been looking at it for quite a while and Robert was kind enough to put all the effort into restoring it for me. I have taken it out and had nothing but wow comments from almost everyone that sees it The before and after is just amazing thank you so much Robert, we have had a great time on it first couple times out. Next we’re going to have to talk about a bigger motor and power tilt and trim

These guys were amazing. My buddies were replacing oil seals on my boat and the project came to a halt after we needed a special tool. Robert was amazing and even replaced some of the seals for us on a moments notice. I will definitely be coming back if I need future repairs.

I am the owner of this boat repair shop . I would first like to apologize to anyone who is not happy with our services or turn around time. However I would like to remind you that we are one of like 3 boat repair shops in Albuquerque .we have been in business for 18 years here in Albuquerque and we understand we cant please everyone but we do our best to keep a good relationship with our customers we value your opinion but want to be able to defend our selves when a bad review is written. We warranty all repairs and customers can speak with the mechanics who have done the repairs. Something you can not do at any other Shop. We have thousands or satisfied customers thank you and we look forward to helping you with your boating needs

Very unprofessional. Takes 2 weeks to get an appointment, dropped off my boat for diagnostics. A week passed with no update so I called so I could pick it up and they said sure pick it up. They then got a mechanic to try and turn my boat on, they then called me before I could pick it up and told me a mechanic already looked at it and it doesnt turn on and I would be charged the diagnostic fee already since someone has looked at it (if I pick it up). So I waited another week so they could do the promised diagnostics and still no response so I called but they randomly dont open for business some days and when they are they dont answer their phones. When you do get someone to answer its usually a female that will talk over you, interrupt you and get aggressive If you have any questions about their service. After over two weeks I called and said I would just take my boat. The woman on the phone threatened again that I would have to pay the full fee for diagnostics (which was around 130). My boat was pretty much held hostage. I had to pay or wait till they decided to look at it. Which looks like t would be well over a month. The female on the phone said they are the only ones that work on outboards so if I take my boat I will have to bring it back. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you are willing to leave your boat there for the current boat season. They told me they are way behind and only have 2 mechanics yet a lot full of boats. They pretty much take appointments to drop off your boats and try to keep them hostage to make money. Now youre at their mercy to when they get around to looking at it. They promise one week, but in reality it will definitely be well over a month.

So happy I found this place I have a 84 bayliner and literally no one in town wanted to even look at it. Gave Albuquerque boat works a call and with no hesitation they took my boat in and it’s never ran better! Not to mention the staff is amazing and they’re always helpful and so friendly. Needless to say im never taking my boat anywhere else! Thank you Robert and the Albuquerque boat works family!

Robert was great. I had a very bad experience at a local dealer, called and spoke with Robert and he told me to bring my older Sea Doo in and he would have it taken care of the same day. We dont live in Albuquerque and we were also in a big time crunch to get it back home. He had the work done for us the same day as promised. He also took the time to explain to us several things about how to use our Sea Doo as we had inherited it and werent very familiar with it. I was actually ready to sell this Sea Doo after what had happened at this other dealership and was heart broken but Robert thankfully showed me that was totally not something I would need to do. Feeling extremely thankful!

DONT USE!The only reason we are giving it a 1 Star is because ZERO will not allow you to post!We do not recommend using Albuquerque Boatworks! Robert and Michelle are very nice people but its a terrible way to run a business! We dropped off the motor and didnt get a call back from the business for three months! We had to reach out to them first (left a message) before we had communication. Not only are they impossible to reach (because they never answer the phone) but they also may take several days to call you back. We had to call them BEFORE they started to work on the motor. Several weeks later we got a call back from them that the motor was done. Prior to that we had no indication what the cost would be. We soon learned that, even though we were from out of town we had very little time to pick up the motor before the storage fees started! We made arrangements to drive 250 miles to pick up our motor on a specific day and found that the business was closed. No emergency number and again no way to contact them! We learned from neighboring businesses that they close when they want! We had to incur the additional cost of renting a room and meals for an additional day! While we waited on the 2nd day, another customer drove up and expressed their issues as well as saying that as soon as they picked up their property they would not be back! We were lucky! A worker that supposedly lives on-property saw us and helped us out! Communication is non-existent! Stay Away!

I would and have recommended Boat Works to friends and family! We took our jet ski to them......it had several problems and no one else in albuquerque would even work on it because of the age of the ski. Boat Works fixed the ski....I picked the ski up and took it to the lake a couple weeks later. The ski ran great but I noticed one other issue with it and called them on the following Monday. I was told to bring the ski in that day. He made the adjustment for me and ONLY because I was out of town, I picked the ski up the following Monday! They have always been very professional and VERY helpful especially when NO ONE ELSE in Albuquerque would even LOOK at the Ski! Thank You Boat Works we will be back in October to winterize our ski!!

They kept my 4hp motor for 11 weeks, they told me it would take a couple weeks to know whats wrong, and maybe a few more to work on it. I called after 4 week of no word, they had not even looked at it, I called a couple weeks later, and again, no word, the 3rd time I called the woman on the phone was very rude and said I was bugging them, then told me I could come pickup my motor and take it elsewhere. This shocked me, I had not even complained about anything yet. I knew it might take time, but wanted to know if they knew what was wrong and what it might cost. I felt that someone that was so rude to me, and such bad service did not deserve my money. When I picked it up, they had used my fuel tank on someone elses motor, and had to reconnect the intake line on the hose while I waited. I almost never write reviews, but this was such bad service I felt I needed to warn others. Go elsewhere.

I have been going to Albuquerque Boat Works since I moved here 5yrs ago the staff at Boat Works has become like family never have I been to a mechanic shop where I have been able to personally speak to the owner and them let me know what was wrong with my boat, Robert has been amazing to me and my wife over the years Every year faithfully I have taken my boat to be winterized and dewinterized, Robert help fixed my cracked block in my 98’ colbalt after I had taken it to another place to be winterized and was charged over priced to in fact not have it winterzed, their times have always been exceptional for being one of three only boat shops in Albuquerque, especially In the summer when they are at their craziest busy times when there has been 10 to 15 customers in the waiting room and each customer was helped at reasonable times Robert will stay later much passed their hours to make sure that each customer is out and ready for the lake! never have I been to a place that has shown such attention to each customer and cares to get you out on the lake as physically possible me and my family are excited to go to the lake for the 4th July knowing we will be safe because of the boat works staff thank you Albuquerque Boat Works!!
