I can’t speak more highly about this place. I came in here asking for new brakes and instead the mechanic brought me to the back showing me how to measure my brake pads and showing me that I had at least another year on them. They consistently give me a heads up on what I will need in the future for maintenance so I can plan ahead (eg a cracked serpentine belt and a minor oil leak) and I feel like they are the most transparent mechanics I’ve ever dealt with. Thank you, gentlemen!

This brake masters on San Antonio is phenomenal we bring wifes and sons car there. They do not tell you what needs to be done thet suggest. Ask for a veterans discount mybfellow veterans

Will never go back for any kind of service. Took my truck in for abs light on they couldnt fix it just replaced a bunch of parts and over charged for them. Not happy at all with there service. Dont think they are mechanics just a bunch of parts replacers..

Called to make an appointment at 2:45 PM, was told I didnt really need one as they werent busy at the moment. Got there at about 3:10. Told John, the Store Manager, what I needed done and that I was on a fairly tight budget. After inspecting the car, John told me I would need new brake pads and strongly suggested a new rotor for the front right; he knew I was on a tight budget which is why the new rotor was a suggestion, not an absolute. Thankfully I was able to get the pads and rotor with what money I did have available. Big thing was that John didnt try to nickel and dime me to death, trying to get me to buy this and that or saying I absolutely needed something to get more money out of me because he knew I was on a tight budget and respected that.Total time there, inspection and brake pad + rotor replacement was about 2.5 hours.Great service, and John truly cares about his customers... while waiting he called someone who had work done that day; John called because he genuinely cared to hear the customers opinion on the work that was done!Would recommend going to this location, Store 138 on San Antonio, to anyone. Whether it be for brake change or anything else.Many thanks to the team at Brake Masters, I feel safe in my car again and didnt get charged an arm and a leg!

Good place for oil change w coupon. Close to work. Usually pretty fast! If busy, competition is 100feet away in the same parking lot. So if quickness and choice is of an essence, this is a place to be.

The customer service was excellent! I couldnt have been more satisfied with the way I was treated by the employees there. But unfortunately, I picked my car up after the brake job was complete on a Saturday evening, just before they closed (& they arent open Sundays), so it made it impossible for me to take it back for them right away to re-check the issue Im experiencing. With John as Manager, this particular shop has taken care of my car for many years. John is the best auto mechanic I have ever come into contact with and I can recommend him and this shop very highly. They have done an excellent job keeping my car in top shape. John is also very courteous and extremely honest and professional in all respects.

Ive used this location for both of my vehicles for many years and have always had exceptional service. The Manager, John, is the best. I never feel pressured to make a purchase when they make recommendations which is unique in this industry!

The absolute worst place for customer service. Jon the manager is the worst of the worst. Had my brakes done less than a year ago, and started having issues. So I went in, and he went on to say his guys didnt do their job last year and didnt fully complete the job. As soon as I started asking why questions, he started treating me like the dirt on his shoes. Do not go there! Take your business to someone who will actually care about your business and will do the job the CORRECT way. Hector Sanchez is the coorperate person for the area, and he does not answer any phone calls, let alone call you back to fix your concerns. This business is a joke.

Went here about a month ago for an oil change and tire rotation. Though for an express place I thought the 45 minute wait was a bit long, the real problem came when the guy working on my car said he could not do the tire rotation because my tires were warped from bad shocks, and thus it would cause a very bumpy ride. I found this odd right away because my car rides very smoothly not indicating any shock problems. Regardless I took his word as the expert and he wrote up a quote for replacing the shocks and it was around $1,000 and encouraged me to set up an appointment very soon to avoid driving problems.As a young female with no car mechanic knowledge, I know I can easily be taken advantage of. Thus I took it to a local autobody shop with excellent online reviews for a second opinion. I asked them to check out the tire system, but did not mention the diagnosed problem from Brake Masters. The mechanic mentioned some wear on the shocks and that they would need to be replaced in about 3 years! I had them go ahead with the tire rotation that Brake Masters refused to do... and amazingly the ride is smooth... not bumpy as predicted.So I save $1000 for another few years and will not be returning to a place where I will be taken advantage of. In fact I will be paying a bit more to take my car to this local bodyshop for even just oil changes because I found them honest and trustworthy.

Unfortunately, this place has a tendency to lie about what services are needed. Went in for an oil change and tire rotation, was told that we needed to replace two filters and that the tire rotation was impossible due to a nail in the front left tire and that we needed to go to a buddy down the road to get new tires. We ended up at a Meineke who was able to do the rotation after discovering that there was in fact, no nail.Basically, only go here if you want to be lied to for their profit.

They did the whole Everythings wrong with you car song and dance before telling me how much my brakes were going to cost. My brakes squeak really bad still, but they stop the car just fine.

Up to this point, the service was very good and Im glad I was refered there by one of their regular customers. If it wasnt for her trust in their service I may have never considered them.

Not Super Impressed.Heres Why:1) I had the Brake Masters $19.95 oil change coupon. I drove to this location, and a guy who looked like a homeless person was sitting just outside the car bay, sort of glaring at me. I asked him if he was a mechanic, and how long an oil change would take. He was kind of snotty and said, About as long it will take you to drive around the other side and fill out paperwork2) John mans the phone...the entire time. John was kind of abrupt, and seems to be the guy who looks for parts, but he also wants to act as the greeter. His assistant seemed hesitant to man the front while John was on the phone.3) The $19.95 oil change doesnt apply to my car. What a surprise. In fact, the person behind me got the same spiel. So with the coupon, the oil change ran about $35.00, almost double the price of the coupon4) They wanted to pressure me to buy an air filter. John was on the phone, but quoted me $27 for one. When I told him Id just pick one up at Napa and do it myself, he wanted to know how much Napa wanted for an air filter. Not impressed5) Once they finished the oil change, they automatically put the mileage to revisit them for my next oil change at 3000 miles out, even though no new cars need changes that frequently. At Jiffy Lube, they always ask me when I want to be reminded.Overall, the service is kind of so-so, and the price wasnt great, which is what got me in there either. I also didnt appreciate the high pressure to buy add on parts at exorbitant prices. Napa sells their gold air filter for $15.95, and its a cinch to install. I wont be going back to this location

If you dont fall for their sleezy sales pitches they treat you terribly. At this point Im doubting they even changed my oil. I went to this location because it was closer to me, but that proved to be a mistake. If you want to go to a decent Brake Masters, Id suggest the one on Menaul and Wyoming. At that one, they dont try to pull any of those sleezy sales ploys that you expect from mechanics. They also respect you just as much if you use a coupon and get the bare minimum as if you spent $500. Avoid this place if you want good customer service.

Competent, no nonsense, and best of all, they diagnosed a vibration in my brake system and did not charge me anything.

Kept waiting while Hector talked on the phone, chatted with a customer and generally ignored me. Left after 23 minutes. Does Hector have a problem with women? Too bad i used to love this place

I had the worst at this place 900 dollars for brakes and now my cuse control dont work and my truck is pulling to the right also I had to wate 5hr for them to get done and under my hood I found a hose just there not connected to anything idk what they did to my truck but the brakes better last me a life time or more I give them 0stars on thus place the worst I have even been to
