Nobody wants the bad news when it comes needing a transmission. But I wasn’t surprised when Tony let me know it was time for a new transmission. His shop is having to deal with a jacked up supply chain but he tried to find a more economical solution but it wasn’t possible. He recommended to go ahead and go with a new transmission and I agreed. He told me upfront it wouldn’t be cheap and will take a while. He didn’t try to sugar coat it and I appreciate the honesty. He stayed in touch with me and responded to my inquiries throughout the month long process. His shop is extremely busy and I appreciate his honesty and rapport. In the end, my son ended up with a new transmission and a nationwide warranty that is worth a lot knowing he’s going to be traveling across the country. Kudos and my sincere thanks to Tony and his team.

I brought my truck in for issues with the transmission. Tony and the guys/gals diagnosed the issue and got the transmission installed in about three weeks which was a little longer than I would have wanted, but still faster than a lot of other places. After I picked up the truck there was still an issue that I had assumed was part of the transmission. I called Tony and told him something was still not right. He took my truck back in immediately and they diagnosed some loose spark plugs. He got the truck back to me really fast and his fee was very reasonable for the additional repair. I would recommend this shop, everyone is friendly and professional and they care about getting the work done right and as quickly as possible.

We were traveling from South Dakota to Arizona with our truck, camper and motorcycle trailer. We started experiencing some shuttering. We called AAMCO and Tony was able to get us in that afternoon. The receptionist (sorry, I dont recall her name) helped us locate a hotel for the night which, was awesome!! We were back at AAMCO first thing In the morning for another diagnostics check. All turned out well and we were back on the road by 10:30 am!! All the staff were very friendly, professional and upfront!!! We are truly grateful!!! We dont normally give reviews but these folks deserve way more than five stars!!

I was from out of town, way out of town, North Carolina out of town, I was 1700 miles from home, and my transmission died… The people here at AAMCO, treated me like family and did everything in their power to fix MY PROBLEM…My transmission left me sitting in the desert, not knowing how I was going to get out of this jam I called them, they bent over backwards to get me back up and running again, I would highly recommend them for service. They told me what they were going to do and they did what they said, refreshing this day and age. Thanks to John, Tony, and his staff for a job well done! This place is amazing, I called a million places it felt like before I reached one that can actually help me, due to COVID everyone has been booked, so they say, this company right here was able to work and get things done in no time, everyone else that I called couldn’t even service our car for 1 month and this company did this right away, took maybe 1 and half weeks, this company I recommend if you have work to get to and need your vehicle serviced, they are very professional and good people here also, they helped us get our car faster to get to work and home, I salute this company, very grateful for this company and warranty is the best part, I love this and recommend this company if you need fast and I do mean fast service, thank you. I had an appointment to inspect a transfer case drip, and I called to reschedule.They told me they were very busy and would get back with me on a new appointment date. Few days went by, so I called again. Tony said he would call me when he had a rack empty to look where the leak is coming from. No call so a few days later I called again and the lady answering the phone told me she would have Tony call me back. Well its been another 4 days and no call back. I tried scheduling an appointment on line, but that didnt work either. They could at least say, they are not accepting any appointments at this time vs. Blowing me off. I called the Garage on Unser and they got me in in two days for an estimate and called me back within 24hrs with a price and completion date.

Dropped my car off in the morning they said by the afternoon they would let me know what was wrong with it I didnt hear back from them. Showed up the next day my car was parked down the street in a neighborhood several houses down with oil spilled all over it like it was parked under a lift with oil spilling????

I ordered a transmission flush, including a filter screen cleaning, and they performed only a drain and refill. These guys are awesome took my car in for one day the transfer case had snap through the front wheel drive and they had it fixed within the 3rd day and had me bring it back after 500 miles just to make sure nothing was wrong with it they did a check up after their check up their very customer oriented and cool I would deafening koback

We took our ‘92 Miata in to have the transmission checked, Tony was professional and was able to provide us with information regarding what would need to take place for the transmission. We decided not to have the services done, but only because we decided to switch it from automatic to manual.

These folks did a number on my truck. Took it in for a heavy rebuild of the transmission and when I got it back, it was shifting pretty hard. They told me it would learn to shift better with my driving... Well it lost second gear about a week later. So, took it back to get fixed under warranty and thats when the fun began. They had it for two months, shorted out the ECM, towed it to the dealership (the dealership replaced the ECM and clearly stated that AAMCO had created the problem - $3,299+ I paid to get my truck back), and then AAMCO tried to blame the problem on me while not paying for the damage they caused. Oh, and the transmission still doesnt shift well. But I will never take anything back there. Buyer beware!!

I had been searching for a auto shop and as I told Tony that it was DESTINY that brought me there. My problem was simple. I failed emissions. They did my diagnostic no charge. They could of easily told me I had a 1000 things wrong. But they didnt! He told me nothing was wrong and to try again. . I didnt pay a thing..Destiny did good. Horrible costumer service. The manager told me he could diagnose my transmission that day if I dropped it off. For a week I was told they would call me with a diagnosis never happened. The manager lied to me every day that it was being worked on. Picked up the transmission today and was told by the technician they never got time to work on it. Very dishonest manger. I would not recommend this business to anyone!

Took my SUV in for a fluid change and left with a transmission that wouldnt shift. Im sadly going to lose my car right when my children and I needed it the most. Disgusting thieving company. Trying to warn you go elsewhere before you trust your vehicle to these thieves. And I wasnt charged anything g for their diagnostic tests now im down a car. I took my vehicle hear for an axel barring replacement. After 8 hours I got told my rear differential was full of metal and teeth were missing off gears so I drove my vehicle home remove differential cover and nothing was wrong. I have scene taken my vehicle to 4wd parts and had barring fixed.

Talk about above and beyond !!! I have a Ram 1500 4x4 that had a very rare problem with the transmission/cooling system. Even the dealer couldnt figure it out. I remembered hearing about these guys when I was in the car business so I decided to give them a shot. They figured it out and didnt even charge for the diagnostic !!! And I know multiple hours were spent to diagnose my truck. I was so happy I was able to get my truck back working correctly. It had been a long time since it had. This was the worst experience I’ve had with a mechanic shop. I took my Subaru WRX in January 2020 for a new clutch. They had the car for a month - the whole time stating that the parts had not come in from the dealer. Then in February they got the parts, but the wrong ones and blamed it on the dealer. They kept the car another week promising that the part would be correct the next time. Part came in again and miraculously, it was AGAIN the wrong part and they blamed the dealer. The 3rd time they ordered the part, it was the right one, but when I drove it on the freeway I noticed a strange, new sound and took it back in. They confirmed that indeed there was a leak in the turbo that THEY caused, and fixed it later that week.All in all they kept my car in to shop for 3-4 weeks, ordered the wrong part two times and then broke something else in the car. The car still makes a strange noice when the clutch is not engaged but I refuse to ever let these people get their hands on my car again.Do not go there.

Made an appointment for shocks and struts, either the front or back as I told them I only had one day to get it done and would bring my car back for the other set when I had more time. Came in on scheduled day and dropped my car off at 8am. They told me they would call when they decided what they were working on. Never got a call so I called 4 hours after I dropped it off and they said they hadn’t started it yet but it would be done that day and they would call. I called again 30 minutes before close and they informed me they were not going to finish in time and hadn’t even finished the labor let alone got the car aligned. So they told me they could keep it overnight which I told them didn’t work because I was heading out of town which is why I asked to have only one set done. They gave a brief apology and said to bring it back next week and it would be done. I expressed that there was no reason my car shouldn’t have been finished to which they replied that they didn’t start working on it soon enough. I asked what type of discount I could receive for my time, trouble and inconvenience and they said $50 off for a service totaling almost $1400. My car was in the shop ALL DAY and had no work done on it! I was referred by a friend and will never be going back here. This was a complete waste of time and the customer service was terrible.

Previous review is false on the covid measures. They have a sanitation station inside and they have the desk roped off. You have to pass things back and forth on a clipboard. Brought my car in and ended up having to get a total transmission replacement. It took 2 weeks to get the part in and about another week to get it installed. It cost a few hundred bucks more than I was told before they found the part. Communication wasnt great but with how many cars needed serious work I totally get the delays.

I would NEVER recommend AAMCO to anyone!! They had my car for 10 days while my wife and I were out of the country for our honeymoon and didnt even touch it! We had to get a rental for a week while they made the repairs. That location is now out of business! We had some issues with my transmission and took it to the remaining location for diagnosis and was given the run around. I ended up going somewhere else. Very disappointed!!

Bought a 2014 Jeep recently and found it had a few issues I wasn’t aware of, worst of which was a sorta working driver window... The staff at AAMCO provided me and dealership a quick and exact estimate which also included an assessment of the other issues it had that they weren’t able to address (glass repair and tire work). Everyone was honest and straight forward and the receptionist even gave me a ride back to work after I dropped of the car for the appointment. In the end it took them no time to have the new part ordered and in hand and only needed my vehicle for a day.

My transmission on my car went out and I had to get it towed to the facility. The staff was efficient, courteous and assured me that they would take care of my vehicle. I was called about the repairs it needed and was notified of the services required before any work was performed. Shame on me for not checking my pricing before I took my car to AAmco Transmission. As I picked up my car the sticker shock was a little amazing $214 for a transmission tune up, my truck iwas cheaper. I mentioned to the owner Tony that this is gotta be more expensive than the Hyundai dealership . He assured me they were going to be half the cost. As I got in my car I called Southwest Hyundai and their price was cheaper to do my transmission tune up shame on me for not doing my leg work. That wont happen again.

Excellent customer service from manager and employees. Quick diagnosis, The knocks from first to second gear stopped after having the needed transmission oil change. They drove me to the store so that I can run errands, while they worked on the car. Cost for service was just right.I would recommend this place to everyone.

Came into the shop thinking I had a transmission issue and they diagnosed the actual problem and got me back up and going with a tune up. Really appreciated the honesty and the fast service. I was referred to AAMCO by a friend because my Service Engine Soon light was on. They preformed a diagnostic at no charge and told me what the problem was. They not only fixed my thermostat which was causing the light to come on but I mentioned other things wrong with my SUV and they fixed everything within a few days. I am so happy with the way my car is running now and the customer service from John, the owner, and Baci and the mechanics was outstanding. They were so courteous and nice to me. It was a pleasure to do business with them and I will certainly return and refer family and friends to them.

I liked how Aamco was able give me a much lower estimate than the competitor. Also, every time I spoke to an Aamco employee they were courteous and professional. The only reason I can think of not to give a 5 star rating is that Aamco took longer than I was led to believe. Overall, I had a positive experience with Aamco.

I took my car there to have the transmission fixed again due to them not fixing it right the first time at the location on the west side.they’ve had my car in two more times for transmission issues and will have to take it back to them again tomorrow to see if they can fix it right this time. Being someone who works in IT, I know NOTHING about cars except NOT to try and fix them myself. Taking my vehicle to a shop brings me great anxiety as I feel like Im always going to get taken for a ride.With that said, not only have I been to Dennys shop here myself several times, but my parents brought their vehicle here when they were visiting from out of town.Denny and his team are straight forward, no nonsense, no frills, give you what you need, kind of team. Theyre not going to sell you a bunch of stuff you dont want (or need!) and they have fair pricing.Their lot might be full of cars, but they have always managed to squeeze me in when Im in a pinch.If youre having problems with your car, go see Denny. Although my experience started out rocky (no fault of AAMCO) because of the cost of having to replace several bearings that I was not expecting, but in the end I was happy with the overall service Denny provided. No one likes to spend $, but Denny and AAMCO are honest, and did their best to provide the service that I expect from a reputable repair facility. I would recommend this repair shop because of their ethics, and the quality of work they provided in a timely manner.

I was having a problem with my transmission on my 2005 ford five hundred.So I took it to the dealer and, they would not do anything about it so,I called our warranty place and they said take it to AAMCO and we did and they put me another transmission in it and so,now my car is doing so good,so good because of AAMCO. So if you need a transmission go to AAMCO on Lomas in Albuquerque. I would definitely trust them I would give them 5 stars. They were the best.

John made sure to explain everything and every option to fix my car while it was out of commission. The main tech is a little surly, but he is good at his job. I definitely plan on returning if I ever need transmission work again. They arent cheap (as no car work really ever is) but they explain every aspect of what to expect and where each charge comes from.

The customer service is very good. I am thankful there is someone on staff that is very knowledgeable about Range Rovers. My problem of leaking fluids still is happening though. My check engine light also still comes on intermittently. I will return to them to try to get this resolved.

I called AAMCO on Lomas because my car had transmission problems. From the moment l walked in, l was treated like a friend. My car was thoroughly tested and diagnosed. Then, the crew dealt with my warrantee provider directly. They kept in touch with me throughout. - And a few days later, l picked up my CR-V. Both the car and l are happy! I certainly recommend this AAMCO station and l will return when my car decides to have an other temper🙂

I have come in twice with my own vehicles thinking my transmission was done and you figured out otherwise when you could have easily tried to sell me a transmission. I went in convinced I was going to have a major transmission repair bill. The owner listened to the description of my problem, then told me F-150s with automatic transmissions have a history of an ignition system problem that presents itself as slipping a shift under load. They checked the truck out free of charge and verified the problem. They repaired the truck for half of what I was expecting to pay. Good guys with integrity. Not always easy to find in the car repair business.

Horrible!!! Extremely over priced & their mechanics obviously have no idea what theyre doing. Do Not deliver when promised. Put a transmission in my grandsons little sporty convertible then told him he needed a clutch charged him the same amount to put in the clutch as they did the entire rebuilt transission. $4,000.00 dollars later we picked it up hes on his way home & the clutch stops working. Towed back to the shop that same day. End of business they tell him they have fixed it right this time. Next morning same problem. So obviously they have NO CLUE. Stick to Transmissions. Let someone who knows how to put a clutch in do the job you cant!!!

Really bad place to bring any car. Had my car towed by AAMCO for free if I had work done by them, I agreed. I was told by Don the owner that it would take 2 hours to inspect once on the lift. Next day went by with no phone calls. So around 3 or 4pm I called and asked how the Focus was doing and man that was a hard question for them, twice I got asked by Jon and Don about a car that was not mine. Anyway after they figured it out cause I told them the correct car they stated I need an electrical cleaning since corrosion was on driver side down off the hood and it was hard to tell if it was the transmission. I agreed for a cleaning at $100 which yes i agreed to cause I trusted this company. So next day goes by and no response from anyone. Another day goes by and heard from crickets and thats it. So... Again I called to check on the car and again they didnt know what car was mine right away and had to explain. After talking with Don I was told the electrical is fine and now he knows its the transmission. Here is the catch, Don stated it would cost $974 to look at the transmission and pull it out and see whats wrong, If I get the work done after he inspects the cost of $974 it will go towards the cost of labor and parts. Here is what Im confused about. I chose not to proceed and sure glad I did. My in law picked up the car for me and asked them how much to repair the transmission and Don stated $2800. How can they give him a price for my car when i chose not to proceed and they needed the $974 to see what was wrong. So why not just tell the customer instead of reeling them in. At the end of the day I spent $197 and change for a couple wires cleaned and a tow that I shouldnt have paid for since technically I did get Work done and i use that loosely. My car also went in the shop running and came out not running due to a battery issue?? I told them there was no battery issue when I brought it in and they stayed silent till i said so now what. Jon stated I need to bring a new battery, I said where is the old one? They where shocked as if I have batterys growing in my yard and plenty to spare that I didnt just agree to a new one. FIANLLY when car was picked up it was not over. My in law noticed my car in the shop was under another car on a lift. The car on the lift, no offense to the owner, but it looked like it needed a little TLC. Sure enough when coming out with the car there was oil on the hood. My in law told the guy and he came out and wiped the hood with a shop rag and some kind of spray that didnt spray well. Now I have damage to the hood over carelessness. Very disappointed in this shop. My father in law has been shopping with them for years since back in the 70s. How they havent changed Quoted by my father in law. My father in law asked if they offer military discount. They stated yes but the bill was not high enough to proceed with the discount. My point of view is it should be a military discount or not a military discount period. Im glad the military doesnt work this way cause everyone would do a half A** job.UPDATE 11-22-19: I do appreciate you having concerns for my experience and I will be in today if the shop is open. If not I will be in Monday around 5.UPDATE: 11-22-19 Owner out of town with no contact to be approved at the store, was told to call Jon the owner and given his business card. I will keep post up to date as things happen.UPDATE: 11-27-19 Owner did as promised with refunding. I will say I never thought I would go back. But he stepped up to the plate and admitted fault which is why I change now to a 3 star. If I need to go back I will up date and possibly change to a 5 star depending on experiance.

This place was everything a mechanic shop should be. Honest, efficient, and very knowledgeable about their trade. I couldn’t have been happier with the service I received for my transmission filter/fluid change. They were patient and let me explain my concerns. To conclude I am very happy with how much better my vehicle is running now due to the excellent service! Will come back! And highly recommend to my fellow Uber/Lyft drivers.

I can not say enough about this garage. I barely made it into there shop on Tuesday morning after driving from California to New Mexico on my way to Denver with a transmission that was blown. Theyre entire staff helped me flawlessly and worked as a professional team to get me back on the road by that Friday. Took my car in to get fixed charge me about $700 dollars. Aside from that they didnt have the decency to make a follow up call to let us know Hey we are still working on your car ect. My husband was the one that had to be calling them to see where they were with the process all the way up in to the point where eventually when he called again they said oh yes its ready. Picked it up and the light on my car is still turning on, I dont know what they did. Took it back so they cant fix it! Me and my husband only have one car from leaving my vehicle there. Its been a whole week and they didnt fix anything. Im just amazed of how you can keep a business open this way not following up with clients about what the status of there vehicle is at. People have a life and they depend on transportation for there daily life duties. The best you can do for your clients is just be upfront and tell them the truth, and say you cant do the job! Honestly I dont recommend you bring your vehicle here. Company like this loses clients trust. Clearly there so unprofessional that they didn’t read my review. If they would of they would notice it wasn’t me but my husband that went in.

My brother and I brought a 15 year old truck into AAMCO. It had problems. Problems with the starter, problems with the fuel pump, problems with other electrical issues. I wasnt expecting much, but thought maybe a professional opinion and advice might help salvage our vehicle.Immediately the manager Manny, was clear, concise and open about the issues he found, and what his recommendations were, and a course of action to get this truck going again. All I was thinking were $ signs. On the contrary, Manny, and John the owner spent their own time, (off the clock) to come to our home, and help us get this sick truck into the garage, and fix it. Not only did they charge hundreds less than I had envisioned, they didnt charge us for a fuel pump after the one my brother bought on ebay was faulty.John, the owner simply said, you guys have done enough, I will pick up the parts and labor on the fuel pump job -Wow, with service like that, I wouldnt recommend anyone think to take their vehicle anywhere else. AAMCO, you have a customer for life. Thanks, John, Manny, and crew. You made our holidays special.

I took my vehicle in on Tuesday and was told it would be ready by Friday. On Thursday I was called and told that they had to order parts from a different state, and would not be in until Monday. Needless to say this upset me since I had plans that I was forced to cancel over the weekend. On Wednesday at 4:45 I was told that everything was put back together, but they were not able to get the test drive done, so it would not be ready until Thursday morning. At approximately 5:15 after closing, I was called back and told that the guys that were working on my vehicle decided to stay late and make sure it was completed. I am very appreciative of the extra effort and time the guys put in at AAMCO on Lomas in Albuquerque. They took the extra steps to make sure my experience with them was good! I took my Infiniti to AAMCO to fix a stalling issue and what I thought was an O2 sensor issue. John Mangan was able to quickly determine that it was a throttle body issue. He gave me a reasonable price to fix the issue and my car has been running better then ever. The employees are both polite and extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend taking your vehicle to them for any problem.

They were friendly and courteous. I went in with a transmission malfunction on my truck and they ran a diagnostics for free then told me my transmission was fine and that it was just my speed sensor. They replaced it for me at the same price as if i was to just buy the sensor and put it on my self.
