The food was delicious. One of the best Ive had.
Horrible service! I called earlier in the week to see if I could place an order to be picked up by the weekend since it was going to be a large order. It seemed like the lady didn’t care, I speak Spanish fluently so it wasn’t a language barrier issue. I went to the store and waiting for about 10 minutes and left. There were 3 people in the kitchen and no one acknowledged me or care to help.
Like a mini Mexican market when you walk in through the door. The taqueria is hidden in the back of the store. You have to make a left once you enter the store and walk to the back. All the tacos are made to order essentially using fresh ingredients. The servers dont speak much English (not a problem for me since I speak Spanish) but they get the job done. Tacos were really good.
I order from this restaurant all the time, and its always my absolute favorite Mexican in Albany city. Lunch dinner you name it Ill munch it from this place! The three street tacos with rice and beans are my favorite dish and the guacamole always has just the right flavor and kick that Im looking for.
Authentic Mexican food, delicious and very nice people.
Since no one in the Capital Region is selling birria tacos, I am making birria tacos myself at home! I needed some uncommon ingredients that you cant get just anywhere: dried ancho chilies, dried guajillo chilies and Oaxaca cheese. This store, though small, had an excellent selection of dried chilies and other items used in Mexican cuisine. They had everything I needed.
Some of the best food you can get locally
My go to for authentic Mexican food. Nice portions..their guacamole is the best around.. The shrimp cocktail huge and amazing..
Best tacos in the 518 by far
Best Shrimp tacos Ive had anywhere, including Mexico. Delicious!
Love this place!! It’s within walking distance from me and they always follow my special instructions.
Amazing place with the good food to be honest
Pros: Taste is amazing, portion sizes are generous, and value is decent. Theyre also available via GrubHub.Cons: Staff never wear masks and are inconsistent answering their phones.
After reading reviews we decided to try it out. Once you go in tbe front door go to the left and head to the back were you can order. We ordered the Tres Tacos one order comes with 3 Tacos, Carne Asada (Beef) and one order of Pollo (Chicken). Ordered a Carnie Asada burrito (Beef) pictured, all food was made fresh to order. The burrito was excellent, has rice and beans and had the fresh guacamole put inside. For the 6 tacos, burrito and 2 mexican sodas was only $22.00. There was plenty of take out being oicked up.
The best doctor!
This place has the BEST Mexican food Ive had in years!! This is my go to place any chance I get. If I could I would rate them a 10!! I am so happy I stopped over looking this tiny place because I wont get my rice an tacos from any other place but here!
This may sound ridiculous but the Mexican Market is among the best places to get Mexican food in the US. A true food gem in the capital region.
The food here is absolutely delicious. Everything is seasoned to perfection and tastes extremely authentic. The price is what makes this place even more exceptional. Would recommend over and over again!
This place is awesome tacos food etc. Best in Albany
They food is better them anybody else.
Best mexican market Ive ever been to
The food is great. And the prices are great. Communication its not so great. I keep saying no Dairy please and theres always Dairy on my food I keep saying please dont send plastic utensils and they still keep doing it each time. I can even call to clarify
After years looking for traditional tacos and not the Americanized mexican food that Ive always found in the area, I finally found it!. If youre looking for traditional tacos, this is the place. There are not many real mexican places in the area and this one exceeded my expectations, prices were really cheap and the food even better!!! Try it and you wont regret it!!!
Nice store but missing some important mexican groceries.Restaurant is great, staff very friendly
I really like this place when Im making Mexican food. I was looking for a very precise spice, achiote. Found it. Its very good to cook chicken, meat or fish. Its makes it very tasty. One else has it in the area. Thank you!
Very good
Found a lot of great things here
If Market32 or Amazon are out of dried poblanos, guajillos or cornhusks, you can find them here. But this is not a pleasant store to shop. Small, dirty and inventory does not seem fresh. Puedes hacerlo mejor.
There are a lot of great Mexican places to choose from in Albany, so I wasnt 100% sold with our initial order, but gave it another shot and its clear you just gotta know what to get. Got the carne asada chimichanga the next time and it was FANTASTIC! Its also worth treating yourself to the tres leches or the cheesecake; portion size is a bit small but theyre absolutely amazing. Plus with the low prices on the entrees, its still a great deal. (Note: the churro doesnt seem to travel well so maybe skip that on your takeout order. 😉)
Wow! Amazing authentic Mexican food! Will absolutely be going back!
This is one of those unique hole in the wall restaurants that doesnt cater to the masses. They are happy to serve anyone but this is a true Mexican restaurant where many Mexicans go for dining and food staples. My friend and I both enjoyed our burritos along with Mexican soda.
Fantastic hole in the wall mexican food. My personal favorite is the chorizo quesadilla, but the tacos are an instant classic. Do yourself a favor and try the beef tongue (lengua) tacos, its better than youd think.
Lovely Mexican authentic food. Perfect gem in these Albany NY parts. Lol. Love it there!
Best mexican food
Food is aMaZAzInG! Tiny, hidden shop on Central Ave off Everett Rd I90 exit. Its entrance is hidden by a bus stop. DELICIOUS food menu and cornucopia of flavored, pure-cane-sugar soda options - have you had apple soda?! So yummy!Three tacos for six bucks and change. SPLURGE -- spend the extra $1.50 for the carnitas ♥️
The food was excellent. Great quality and well worth your money.
This place is great. Please go here with an open mind. They have some of the best tongue tacos. The portions are always generous. One of my two favorite places to frequent for tacos in albany. Service is always exceptional. Dont expect the red carpet. All the love is in the food.
Paid for extras that was not put in or on the food. Ive eaten from many Mexican eat-ins and order outs and this is by far the worse, I wouldnt even compare this to Taco Bell. Poor flavor, barely use of any sauces or vegetables even if you pay extra for it. Wouldnt eat again even if they paid me to. Complete waste of money.
At first, you might think this place is kinda scetchy, but once you get comfortable and the food is served, its AMAZING! Really authentic and tasty! Highly recommend!
You are missing out if you dont give this place a try. The food is incredible. Fresh and full of flavor.
This place had amazing authentic Mexican food for really cheap prices. I loved my entree. A very family style restaurant. They also have a grocery section.
Steak tacos are amazing!!
Dirty looking. Food might be good though.
What a great place!! I deliver for Uber and that is how I found out about this! A tiny mom and pop Mexican grocery and cafe! Get your spices and peppers or order some authentic home cooked yummy Mexican food! Super friendly! Great prices! Highly recommend!
This is the greatest Mexican food in town. Get a few tacos pastor for lunch with a passionfruit soda and just relax
This place is the best Mexican food Ive had since I was in San Diego!!
$2.00 tacos are fantastic. They are small so if your hungry Id get four. The fresh chips and salsa is so fresh. The inside is authentic and family owned. Lighting is a bit intrusive with harsh florescent. Parking is front is a challange but there is a lot in the back.
The tacos are good. They are tasty. The rice and beans are ok. They could be better. The green and red salsa are the real deal. Spicy salsa. Watch out. You will need water. I can afford to eat here every day.
Hidden Gem
The food is phenomenal! Its just a little hard ordering because of the language barrier, and because of this have gotten the wrong food. this however was not a bad thing. I was able to try something I wouldnt normally had ordered, and it was delicious. Ive been back over 10 times in the last 3 months and was never disappointed with the food.
Excellent food, especially the carnitas burrito. Highly recommend their salsa as well, tastes fresh and has a good amount of heat.
Great customer service provided
Best Mexican food in the tri city area, bar none
Authentic mexican food. A hole in the wall kind of place. Mostly everything inside is listed in spanish and makes it tough for those not a knowledgeable. Communication was a little tough and made paying a little confusing. Overall the food was flavorful and I might be back again.
Grameat place would give 5 stars if English speaking staff there at all times.
Extremely high quality food. I dont even know how they make money for how cheap it is.
Definitely some of the best burritos Ive ever had. I have tried to convince myself to try the tacos but every time I go I cant shake the fact that I love their burritos so much I cant bring myself to order anything else. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
Food is OK, the place is tiny, overall is fine to eat some Mexican food not the greatest but just ok
No good
Hole in the wall atmosphere, staff speaks almost only Spanish but were friendly. Food was outstanding, I got the burritos de asada and it was one of the best and most authentic burritos Ive had in my life. A hidden gem for sure!
I spent almost 20 years in Texas and it remind me of living there plus they have all the tex mex staples. A little slice of home.
Great tacos. Service was a little slow but it was pretty busy so I can forgive that. I cant wait to try more of the menu.
Food was good
Ive heard that they have good food that some people are interested in but I have never been in the store
Food is always great here
Best authentic Mexican food in the capital region. This place serves authentic Mexican, if you want tex-mex go to Chipotle. If you want real Mexican food for a great price check this place out. Personally I really enjoy the carnitas burrito, but the tacos and plates are great as well.
Hidden gem....go to the left when you walk in. Order your food and eat. Then pay on the other side at the store register. Food was awesome
We go there once a week AT LEAST here in our office. The food is authentic and amazing. Also the price is right! Try the Last Mexicana Tortas... absolutely incredible!
This a hidden gem in my eye. I love the food
Most authentic Mexican food in albany
Ugh. So great. If you live in the catskills, where choco tacos are too spicy for most people, stop here to stock up on chorizo, valentinas, dried chiles, and (hopycrap whats this) choco tacos 🎺🎺🎺!
They have a variety of food thats decently priced. The carnitas were pretty good. Ill be going back soon.
A hidden gem! Authentic Mexican food that tastes great! Highly recommend if you are in the area, as it is some of the best Mexican food around. I recommend the beef toungue burritos (Burritos de Lengua).
If ur not Mexican, the service is poor.
Best mexican food around, very consistent and home vibes
Ballin.
Not much of a market. No meat.
I don’t know if three stars are adequate bcuz the food is good but the steak quesadilla I ordered was cook with HAIR! Yes, as I was biting into it, I had a long black hair in my food and that turned me off as well as made me mad and sick!! HAIRNET 101 when performing any food service!! Also the language barrier is awful!! I’ll give it another try but will look thru my foodfirst!!Update: Had the Chicken Cutlet Sandwich...OMG sooooo good!!! Took a minute to order bcuz of the language barrier but once I got my sandwich it Was worth it and I highly recommend it!!!!
When i jave a dollar in my pocket, i come here and get their mango chilli lollipops. its rigjt by my bus stop.
Wow. Authentic Mexican food !! Reminds me of the good in Cali or Texas..
Awesome authentic food, amazing prices (2 full meals with drink less than 20 bucks, cant beat that) amazing service, they actually cares about me, my food, and my visit there. Held good convos and the customer service was great ! Definitely will be back !
Cute little local corner store
Ate here for the first time today ! The food is amazing- like Tijuana street food ! Yummy 😋 don’t let the looks of the place put you off - the food is sooo worth it, very small but run by lovely friendly folks ! Delicious and very reasonably priced ! Will definitely go back (again and again lol )
The carne asada tacos, green sauce, and beans and rice were very tasty! Make sure youre not in a hurry. Worth the wait.
Great place for authentic, small store Mexican food.
Made me feel like I lived in LA again.
God was excellent I had the trios tacos and they were very good. I had the chicken and steak.
Is very good place to be. Good food, good people. Taqueria is open.
I went there for the 1st time because I had a craving for a burrito. 1st off let me say I was extremely surprised to find out how big it is on the inside. It looks much smaller than it really is. I believe it was a carne asada burrito. The price was right, the portion was good, the steak was cooked very well and it was flavorful. It couldve used more pico, salsa or something. Chicken tacos, best Ive ever had.The huevos con jalapeno with rice and beans is delicious as well. In the restaurant on the menu it says huevos con jalapenos & asada but after getting home I seen there was no steak in it. I was very disappointed initially. After reviewing the take out menu I saw they no longer offer it with steak and I really didnt feel like going back. But when I ordered I ordered huevos con jalapenos & asada. Someone should have told me it didnt come with steak when I ordered it. Nevertheless, it tasted very good.
Awesome burritos and good people to come and enjoy food with
Good food great Tortas.
I like foing there cash my check and drink a beer
Great food but a kind of confusing experience
Best authentic tacos in the area!
