I dealt with Mike and he was more than pleasant and knowledgeable about his trade. They are conveniently located on Wolf Rd. I also noted they have some absolutely beautiful vintage jewelry as well as new jewelry pieces. This is a place that should be checked out! I know I will return!

Staff was very friendly, brought a decent amount of silver coins and scrap jewelry in, they sorted through it all very quickly considering the amount. They were very transparent everything was explained what and how they get the price they got. 30-40 minutes later we walked out with a check and I new place we would gladly return to if we ever needed to buy or sell anything gold or silver related.

Ive been in 3 times for silver bullion. As I sit with a kilo bar of silver in my hand I couldnt be happier with my purchases. I was going to get the kilo bar the second time I went in but they had so many Silver Eagles in good condition for the price of generic I had to grab them. I ordered 6 BU Eagles from a top online bullion dealer and because someone forgot to put packing peanuts in the tube I got dinged up and no longer BU Eagles. Save yourself the premium of online accidental cull and look in that box. And if you are still reading this my first purchase was a beautiful new 10oz IGR silver bar. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have the bullion you want. Junk, sovereign, rounds, bars. Fair price over spot. Ill be back again and again. FIVE stars.

I was very pleased with the service and expertise of Jim who carefully sorted through all my silverware and stainless steel utensils, coins and a watch to determine their value.

Approximately a week ago I had the unfortunate task of liquidating a large coin collection of both foreign and domestic coins I inherited from my father’s estate thirty-four years ago. Knowing nothing about numismatist, I went to the internet for help in trying to place a value on the collection. Needless to say, this was a laborious and time-consuming endeavor. What I learned was that in no way could I estimate the value of this collection. After much thought and conversation with my wife, family and information from the web, I obtained three quotes from the Capital Districts top coin dealers. To make a long story even longer this was by far a huge task. Not only did I have to arrange for appointments with said coin dealers, I had to load the entire collection into my car and take it to each proprietor’s business location. As I mentioned this was a large collection consisting of numerous metal boxes weighing what seemed to be hundreds of pounds.Getting to the meat of this article I would like to say that Ferris Coin & Jewelry was by far my choice to sell to. I cannot say enough good things to come close to the professionalism, patience and expertise of Geoffrey C. Demis at Ferris who evaluated the coins. Jeff not only looked at and scrutinized every coin using at his disposal several coin books and his vast knowledge in this field to appraise each piece. I have been shopping for coins (buying and selling) at Ferris for over 15 years. From the shop at Central ave in Albany to the new shop on Wolf road. I can tell you this, you will never find a more kind or knowledgable team of people that are true masters of theyre craft then at Ferris Coins. I travel all the way from Fort Edward to Ferris just for the expertise and products they have. Geoff, is by far the coin guy to visit.

Jim is a certified gemologist who appraised a dozen pieces of jewelry for me. I called and he provided a brief overview of his credentials and the approximate length of time needed to appraise the items. He was booking one week in advance but accommodated my schedule around another appointment I had. His location is convenient with adequate parking on Wolf Rd. in Colonie. We reviewed my pieces and then he took photos of each and proceeded to do the appraisal during my visit in three hours. The comprehensive report I received one week later was thorough, detailed, easy to read, and included the photos he took. Jim is very knowledgeable in his field. He is easy to deal with has a nice personality. I highly recommend his services.

I spoke with Jim Naughter, a Gemologist, at length about some heirloom jewelry I had inherited and was absolutely amazed by his expertise! I felt safe in his care as we speculated about the family secrets revealed by the tiniest details in the gems I presented. He offered me solid advice about whether to wear, sell or save these pieces; I trusted his advice and the professionals he recommended. I was very impressed!

I visited Ferris on Monday. I called for an appt. the week before and Geoff got me in quickly even though they are so busy. I had coins from a relatives estate. Geoff valued everything for me. He was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I spoke with Amanda about some jewelry. I took the first half of these coins to a different place and felt sort of intimidated. Much nicer experience at Ferris. Also, I know nothing about coins and I fear being taken advantage of. However, Geoff was VERY fair in how he valued the coins. I went to Ferris Coin & Jewelry after visit Roman Jewels to sell some coins. Roman offered me $1812 and I knew the most I could get for this was around $2500. Ferris offered me $2360 and it was more than fair. Beware when selling your valuables, always research what you have and try a few places. Great experience when we had our mother’s coin collection and some jewelry appraised. They were fair and easy to deal with. In fact, they followed us to the parking lot to give us more money because they had misidentified the stone in one of the rings! We would never had known that it was a diamond and not a cz.
