Zombie Planet is a two story comic book and game store located in the Capitol Region.Board and collectible card games occupy the first floor of the two story operation with comics and graphic novels residing on the second floor. The staff is incredible nice and helpful when you are there and will help you find anything youre looking for.The only downside to Zombie Planet is their prices for full boxes of Magic The Gathering card. Sometimes theyre $30 higher than other game stores in the area and while youre there check out it painfully slow. Also very limited singles for sale.

I love this place, its perfect to take all my geeky friends when they come to Albany. I got these dice a few years ago and theyre still my faves!

Our familys favorite store! If you like comics, strategy board games, or table top miniatures, youll find what you want here. Yes, its (sometimes) more expensive than Amazon, but were supporting a small business, and the knowledgeable staff are always willing to help us find just what were looking for, but also let us browse if we prefer. First place to ask me to wear a mask in the Albany region, Ill find a different comic book store from now on.

They had a lot of different selections for games. They had an amazing set of D&D minis, but not all the books. Still staff was very helpful & they have a loyalty rewards program

My favorite game shop in Albany. Always helpful, always a ton of selection and always the latest and greatest things to come out. With the pandemic slowly coming to an end they are (still in progress as of 6/11) expanding their gameshop to accommodate a bigger number of groups/events and Im excited to see the results.

I have always liked it here. Shopped here plenty of times because they have a huge selection if everything. Will and George are always welcoming and helpful with finding and ordering things.However, came in today trying to find Pokemon cards for my daughter and me and found that they are upcharging the prices because if people will pay the price, were gonna sell at that price. No point in losing out on the money, as the guy behind the counter said. Prices ranged from $6 to $20, which is absurd. I will not be supporting a greedy business like this. This is essentially scalping. Just there to make an extra dollar. Clearly not there for the customer.

Havent been here in a few years and just as good as I remember it. They were helpful and answered my questions. I just wish they werent so far away.

Two floors of nerdiness! A rare sight in Albany!Although it seems more Dungeons and Dragons shop then comicbook, so, if youre a DND fan, this place is for you. But since Im comicbook fan, I was disappointed. The book selections there were barebones, older but still widely available everywhere else. Manga selection was mediocre. A few good titles but mostly bland, forgettable ones. The figure selection is good. Not alot, but good nonetheless. I think this place is in a serious need of an upgrade both Comicbook and Manga wise, too many great titles out there for this place to be so bland in its selection.Still, the staff was warm,friendly and welcoming.

New to upstate NY and went in for my first time earlier today. Dont know if the owner/employees are just tired of scalpers and thought I was one or what, but the gentleman I talked to (asked one question about pre-orders for Pokemons next set), basically talked down to me about allocation in a super condescending manner.Turned a potential returning customer into this bad review. Definitely wont go back.

I was traveling upstate with my girlfriend and we both live seeing different comic shops around the US.Zombie was fun to look around and at first we thought it was exclusively a game shop, there were a variety of figures from Star Wars to Warhammer and they had a display case that was packed full with exquisitely painted pieces. In addition they had a huge selection of board games and other chotchkeys.The comics section was up a flight of stairs that was covered in posters and display cases that were also filed with books. the comics had a pretty up to date new section of books as well as a good collection of back issues.The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about games and a lot of contemporary comics.

Arrived quick and on time. Pricing was competitive. arrived in regular mail envelope. buying online needs better protection. luckily i bought inexpensive MTG cards. Sorry i wont take the gamble again.

Best place for board game options!

This is a legit comic book and gaming store. The second floor is dedicated to an impressive collection of back issues and trade paperbacks as well as the classic wall of this months new comics! The first floor has a ton of gaming stuff and they literally sell a variety of 12 sided dye at the checkout. It was well staffed and appeared to be taking covid seriously while still allowing for browsing. I got their 5 issues for 5 bucks deal and got some new books that were actually worth reading. Great spot!

I have a medical condition preventing me from wearing a mask and I was told I couldnt shop here without one. Been coming for years, but wont be back.

The guys who work here are helpful and the selection is good but they dont have the role-playing books in stock that I needed and they only keep one copy of the 5e books on hand at any given time. Any d&d minis that arent cliche copies will have to be ordered special. They do however septate their lose dice by type to make it easier to find replacements.

Knowledgeable staff and well-stocked inventory of hundreds of games. Before the pandemic, I loved being able to walk in and describe the type of game I wanted (e.g. co-op 2 player) and after asking a few clarifying questions, they immediately had 5 or 6 ideas to show me. I learned about and tried dozens of fun new games that I wouldve otherwise never paid attention to. Since the pandemic, Ive been impressed by the owners care for employees and proactive shift to online shopping. Their curbside pickup and shipping both went smooth. Ive moved away and will still shop here for my board games.

Full service comic book shop that also has Pokemon and Magic cards. The staff is knowledgeable and available. The place is two floors full of all the things that round out a collectors desire. Action figures and related paraphernalia are readily available. Im not familiar with the Star Wars game being played on large tables nor am I acquainted with the other games available but the figures are spectacular with an attention to detail seldom seen. Selection of board games is available and you can always get a gift card if you arent sure what to get. Great small business in the 518 to support.

The goto place for specialty games, both board and table top in the capital area. The online store allows you to shop the inventory from home. A friendly owner and employees are always willing to help and explain things.

Super great store. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Comic selection is great, and they can order anything you want that they dont have in stock. Also have a pretty great selection of board games and tabletop rpgs, as well as a sizeable section for Warhammer. They tend to have some cool older and rarer models in stock too, which is nice.

Went here for the first time with a friend today. I was very happy with the broad selection of table top games and accessories.We got basic minis for our whole group at a good price and some new dice sets.The staff are pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be going back again in the future.

Great! If youre a regular they will know you by name and place something they know youll love in your hands. I have always walked out with something I loved and wanted. It is a local and unchained store so expect to pay what the items worth, however they do have great promotions, deals, and the object you buy will be in perfect condition! Myself and a friend met there to check the place out. We were interested in table top wargaming. We were in there for about 30 minutes and for the whole time completely ignored. I didnt buy anything from them because of that.

If youre into Dungeons and Dragons, WarHammer and other role playing games, this is the place for you! My son went there a week ago and is interested in WarHammer, the staff was very helpful. We went back again this past weekend and they remembered him and again was very helpful. They have people play some games there too so you can see how the game goes. Nice place!

Great place to get your geek stuff! We go for D&D supplies including dice, dice bags, figures, and books. The store is well stocked with the things we need. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Parking here is a HUGE problem as the lot is shared with other businesses. You will drive around looking for a spot and have to wait for someone to leave.

Extensive selection of miniatures and extras to flesh out your game play. I love scenery props and can spend hours just perusing the shelves. Its the best game store I have found!

Best comic shop in the capital region

I like Zombie Planet. The people there always ask if you need any help & are there to answer questions & make suggestions. But they also let you alone if you just want to browse. Their selection of games & gaming paraphernalia is large & wide. They also have a really good comic book stock. Prices are moderate high but the coupons & sales make them very competitive. A good store.

Went for an MTG prerelease and had a pleasant time. Store is reasonably clean, friendly and has a good amount of space. In the price of event admission pizza was included which is new to me but a great idea as far as Im concerned. Casual atmosphere as far as I could tell but all around a good experience.

Weve been going to Zombie Planet for almost 5 years now. The owners have always been nothing less than fantastic. Our three year old always looks forward to going there and seeing the owners. Nothing but a great experience everytime.

Table top gaming, MTG, comics, this is the place to be. I have been coming to Zombie planet for over a decade and its great to see that George and the store are still there after all these years. They host events, offer a rewards program, and the second floor of the store is a dedicated gaming space, great for meeting new people in your hobby or game of choice. Overall if you havent been to Zombie planet yet, you really should check the place out.

This place is great. Chill atmosphere, dont mind if you look at books or ask a million questions. Theyre knowledge of all things considered nerdy is quite extensive. I started out getting a few book every now and then to having a subscription for over 3 years now. Its also a good place to start a fight club over which Wolverine is the best (X23, old man, or the dam statue that just came back to life.. )

Great store, it has a huge inventory, the employees are very helpful, and the staff are very knowledgeable. The organized play events are super welcoming, I was able to drop into multiple games very easily. If you are looking for a store to satisfy your gaming needs this is definitely it!

From time to time Ill see a review on here talkin about the staff.it makes me wonder if theyre going to the same place that I am. I come infrequently living about 30 minutes away, but everytime I am greeted warmly and ask if theres anything the staff can do to help. I certainly have no complaints.

So I recently called up Zombie Planet to ask if they had a certain Magic the Gathering Card I was looking for. And yes, I could have bought the card on amazon, but I like supporting local stores. But after my experience I wasnt going to give them a cent. So I called them up asking for the card and the man said Im sorry but I cant be bothered to look though binders and find you and card, we have way too many costumers, call us back in a half hour. I never called them back. Ive also been there before my bad phone call experience. My friends and I enter the store and are excited about all the cool games and comics. But the instant we started talking to one of the employees we were uncomfortable. We asked them to explain something to us, and instead of explaining it, they just talked down to us. I like to call them high class nerds, nerds that think they are better then everyone else because they have more knowledge on a game. So heres the thing Zombie Planet, we are all nerds in the end, and us nerds have to stick together. So please learn to respect us costumers, because were all youve got.

Owner of store sets a very unpleasantly rude attitude that the rest of the employees follow. Typical power hungry person who thinks he is better than everyone else. There is no customer service what so ever and the store is extremely cluttered. I understand the name though, they are zombies, slow walking, grunting, and not caring about anything else.Just returned to Zombie Planet, hoping they would redeem themselves. Sadly, when I walked in the door I was hit by two death stares from the owner and the employee working behind the counter. The owner then asked me to follow him up to his office on the second floor to discuss my review, however, that felt like a bad idea to me and I chose not to. The reason I cameback was to get a starter deck of Magic The Gathering cards for my friend, but instead of getting that or even them telling me if they had any the iwner cut me off and asked me to follow him upstairs. After not wanting to follow him and still asking if they had the starter deck the owner politely asked me to leave and take my business elsewhere. I have never had anything like this happened to me before. I would strongly encourage anyone to rethink going in there after my experience. I felt like the owner was going to physically harm me if I followed him which should be a warning to anybody thinking about going here, for ANY reason.

Great selection of dice and 5e materials

Zombie Planet is the best game and comic shop in town, state, maybe the country. The staff is really nice, not overbearing, lets you explore but if you need help they are an amazing resource. They know all kinds of inside baseball stuff about the gaming industry and comics. They get new stuff for almost all the CCGs in advance, and if youre looking for a game no one else stocks this should be your first stop. The owner loves games and comics and has a real knack for identifying games you dont even know you want to play yet. Ive read some of the reviews here and all I can say is ignore the haters and give this place a try, you be glad you did.

Always rude to me when Ive come in, rude to my husband, they seem to only have a good attitude if youre there 24/7 and on more than a first name basis. They clearly dont realize that you never know who is going to spend a lot, they need a lesson in customer service. On top of the you being here inconveniences me attitude, I find their prices are a bit higher than other local comic shops. So basically, I have no reason to come here ever. I rather drive down to Toy Wiz three hours away than to spend money here.

My favorite comic book store in the area. I love the staff, so helpful and knowledgeable. I could get lost just browsing though the comics and graphic novels or spend time downstairs looking through all the D&D, table top, gaming materials.

The staff is solid in their knowledge. It is good to have a community of diverse gaming interest. Its more than a clubhouse. Its a place to learn games and build friendship.
