We have purchased 3 bikes from here and will never go back! Bikes were terribly put together and would have fallen apart of it weren’t for the fact my husband is a bike mechanic. We took two bikes in for their 30 day tune-ups and things got even worse. Halfway through checking the bikes in the guy forgets that he was even helping us and asked what we needed. When they called to tell us the bikes were ready they didn’t even know we had two bikes. Then we pick up said bikes and one of them no longer will shift. They literally took in a functioning bike and returned an non functioning bike. I am all for supporting local but please beware of this company!

Love this place and try to buy as much as I can here. Theyll take good care of you regarding sales and service. Bought my kids first bike here and hope to buy each subsequent one there.Definitely more focused on city bikes and commuter type riding but can get you squared away with any of your cycling needs. Shoutout to Raj, who often splits time between this shop and the Corvallis branch.

Took 2 of my bikes in to be serviced and fixed, they failed to tell me beforehand i would have to order my own parts, so they basically tightened one cable on one bike $75, NOTHING GOT FIXED ON THE OTHER BIKE, and still charged $75, what a waste of time and money, I will never take my business back to them

Needed to get the tire fixed on my daughters bike. Blake, the employee working, was quick to help and even took apart the wheel to determine what was defective. I was in a bit of a hurry so he offered to further evaluate and call me back to let me know whether it can be fixed or needed a new part. Long story short, a reasonably priced solution was afforded me and my daughter is again riding her bike.

Friendly service and knowledgeable employees,. I’ve been buying bikes from Biken’Hike for near 40 years now. They kep my bikes in top condition and even fix some mistakes when I have attempted to do it myself. Pre COVID -19 they always had a large selection of bikes, which I like because they let me test ride a bike before I buy it, something that can’t be done from online.

*update*So they fixed the leak and put new pads on and managed to repair and put my old caliper back on I think the rotors still need replaced as the rear is still not breaking very well Ill had to see if bedding themwill help the front breaks still work like new. They also switched out my rear wheel that the hub broke on, no fault of theirs though. Its starting to feel like my bike is just failing because of the manufacturing process idk Im super new to mountain biking and this is only my first bike. Oh and just FYI if youre high risk maybe think twice about going in as it seems not wearing mask is the norm in the shops. So I just had a mobile mechanic come look at my bike and wow! Bike n Hike destroyed my bike. The brake bleed I took it in for has ended up with me needing to replace the entire brake system a rotor and pads. They installed the line incorrectly, after they destroyed my caliper and put a different one on, now the line leaks. Oh, and the didnt even re-secure the line to the frame. Stay very far away from this shop! What a depressing mess.

Went in for a simple common tube for my mountain bike. Only had one kind (Self Sealing) in my size with a Presta valve but ok, I went with it. Got it home and the valve is defective, wont seal. Another 20 minute trip to town and exchange for another one. Get it home and same issue, valve is defective. Look up reviews and this brand is known for valve not sealing and valve separating from tube. Take it back for a refund. Employee refuses to refund because valve is starting to separate from the tube. I never even had it mounted on my bike and tube separation occurred just from folding it up and putting it back in the box. He couldnt care less that the valve was defective. Says come back some other day when manager is there. That would be my 4th trip and my cost in fuel, let alone my time, its cheaper ($15 tube) just to throw it away and learn my lesson. Make the drive to Corvallis and go to a reputable shop.

The customer service here is absolutely terrible. Half of the time that you’re in there they don’t even acknowledge you or greet you. You have to go and ask your self. On top of that they always act so bothered and not like the even want to help you. It’s ridiculous. The scheduling with them is so poor as well. They have a hard time giving you a specific realistic time frame. I recommend not wasting your time with people who don’t know how to treat you (specifically the older gentleman) and taking yourself to Peak in Corvallis. Trash Service.

I will never buy anything from them ever again. I have never had such bad customer service. In the past few years I have spent around $3500 there and been treated horrible by the employees. The owner himself is the worse and owns the Corvallis store also. Every time I go in they act like Im bothering them. Todays incident was by far the worst in my history as a customer with them. in and the owner acted like he didnt see me right in front of him. He finally acknowledged me and said did you need something in a very rude tone. I explained my issue and asked if he could look up my bike to see if it was under warranty. He refused to look it up and said it wouldnt be covered. I didnt even get a chance to tell him anything about what kind of bike or when I got it. I really love giant bikes but I will never purchase another one because I will not support a company that supplies bikes to such awful people. I recommend taking the 20 min drive to Corvallis and having your bike needs done by Corvallis cyclery.

Today Im wishing I had never visited Bike and Hike. I called ahead this afternoon to find out if they had the tires and tubes that I was looking for and the person on the phone assured me they did keep those in stock and said that they were open until 6 p.m. I believed I arrived there a few minutes before 4 justa mintue or so behind another customer on a bike. When I walked in the store the person behind the counter did not make eye contact nor did he greet me in any way. I was content to browse around and wait patiently for my turn but the person ahead of me was rather indecisive about what he was going to purchase. While I was waiting another man came in and began waiting too. He went to stand relatively close to where the other two men were and I remained behind to observe social distancing. Well the first customer remained indecisive he suggested to this salesperson that he go ahead and assist the other customer. I assumed that the salesperson would acknowledge that I have been waiting before the other person had arrived but he proceeded to assist that person instead. I decided to step outside for some fresh air and wait. When I saw the second customer leave with his purchase I re-entered the store and again I was not acknowledged in any way. At this point I was becoming a little irritated at the lack of courtesy or customer service. By this time I had already been waiting nearly 20 minutes. There was a young man working on bikes in the back of the store, so I walked back there to speak with him and asked if he could assist me. I told him that I was there for tires and tubes and he said simply theres another person in the other room that can help you and he turned around and went back to what he was doing. Really? Two other people walked into the store at this point and no one acknowledged them either. The lack of customer service is appalling, I would not recommend patronizing this establishment.

I went to Albany Bike n Hike, thinking of past experiences in Portland, as a last resort due to my memory of the store up north being very pricey. I just needed a tube for my wifes bike and didnt want to spend $15 for a tube for a lightly ridden bike.I was pleasantly surprised at the prices of everything in the store. There are plenty of high ticket items, as there should be in a nice bike shop. Most everything in the shop was of very decent quality and at chain store prices. Youve made a new customer.

This is the classic bike shop. Holier than thou mentality that makes you feel like youre wasting their time unless youre one of thier little bike buddies. Prices are above what you can find elsewhere. Its nice to have a local shop to look at products, but not going to work if they dont really care to help you on the customer service end.

TL/DR: Appointment time was misshandled/ blamed on meEmployees were dismissiveNot informed of beforehand of chargesWent in to add a cargo rack to the bike I impulse bought after mine was stolen, and pick out an upgrade for my daughter who is just out of training wheels. It was very busy so I browsed waiting my turn to ask advice on a good starter bike for my child. An other customer came in and he excused himself to deal with that politely so I waited patiently.Never checked back in with me. I waited till the entire store was clear and asked if I could get a rack installed. I was asked to come back Wednesday at 10.Walked in with my bike Wednesday at 10, a few customers walked up to the counter and was told without being looked at be with you in a minute by the same guy who made my appointment. While he fought with his credit card machine. (Those things are annoying). Proceeded to clear out every other customer before even speaking to me again. (Would have been nice to at least take the bike back so I could help my daughter choose her new bike)Half an hour later Im finally spoken to (by a different guy original had apparently left him alone) who says there is no record of my appointment and it will be an other hour to install because he has to answer phones. Walks over grabs a rack with out even discussing it with me and informs me this one will work. I price check it, its a little more than I want to to spend but Im this far in and my tools got stolen with my other bike so Im ok with spending a few extra bucks to get it put on.Guy takes my info and I go get pastries with my daughter, then play at the park never did get a call.So I go back an hour and a half later and the original guy makes a point to let me know the appointment was written down as next week (tone of voice implying its some how my fault) the bike is ready though and I am more than happy to leave. At check out Im informed, for the 1st time, was there a 15$ labor charge too.... Now that everything is all ready done and I cant change my mind.Spend that 15$ well cause it cost you what ever the mark up on my kids bike would have been and all the accessories she is bound to want.Personal service is supposed to be the reason to shop on Main Street instead of the internet. I for one get far better service from Amazon.

I took my sons bike into the shop for a $75 tune up. After he picked it up and rode for about a dozen blocks the rear gear set fell apart. I took the bike back and they blamed it on cheap parts. It took another $30 to have a rideable bicycle. I feel this should have been caught, by the tech, when they removed the rear gear set in the first place.

The staff was knowlegable and nice. We stopped in an hour before they closed on MLK day, when many businesses are either closed for the day or closed early. The repaires only took about 20 min. which was amazing compared to other bike shops Ive been to. Also they peaked my interest when I asked about electric bikes. Being new to Oregon myself, I dont know of much about the areas stores that arent franchises/mainstream. Great first impression. I see myself coming back for more.
