Ive gone here two times in the course of a year and I must say, I love it. Everything is so reasonably priced, tastes great, huge portions too! And the employees are very sweet and have manners!!! Its very hard to come by places like this today, so when I do find these stores I try and visit as often as possible. It is also very clean compared to the other stores around it. Ill be coming back in a few months again!!

This place is always dirty, the man that works in the hot food area is always very rude because we have cards and not cash. I think hes pocketing the cash because he said theres no register there when there are two registers right on the counter. The manager noticed us standing there in our scrubs and told us we just have to wait in that line and we can always walk up front and pay. That was nice but its still always dirty and smells like rotting fish.

Lots of great asian stuff thats hard to find in the greater Albany area. Good prices. I think they need to bleach the drain daily in the fish department. A little bit strong for my nose. Lots of exotic produce, high quality rice and other ingredients. A gem for Albany to have a place like this

It has more variety then a few back home. There was a spoiled noodle package in the seafood ramen pack, but its no worries! Love this place! Get ALL your types of ANY type of Asian products... The only other awareness Id like to share with you while you shop, the fresh seafood area is definitely pungent with fish smell... So if you dont like the smell of fish stay to the right of the market but this place is amazing and all reasonably priced!

My town only has a small Asian Store, so I gave this Asian Supermarket 5 stars for its vast inventory. Yes, they could do better with their fish market and bigger aisles, but their noodles & seasonings are quite impressive.

Review №19

A wide range of product and I am happy to have the establishment near our place. The only downside is the bad smell from the fish section permeating through the store and its unpleasant even with a mask to say the least. However, the selection of products makes it worth visiting the store.

This is the best Asian supermarket youll find anywhere in the Capital district of Albany. Any kind of Asian food can be found here from fresh seafood to packaged curries, ramen, rice, etc.

Have shopped here several times in the past. Lots of good asian food supplies. This visit though the store seems to be going down hill. Could use a good scrubbing, seafood tanks are dirty, equipment needing repair or replacement. Store could benefit from some friendlier staff. Hopefully things turn around.

Compliant with masking law. Sign reminds shoppers to don mask & gloves before entering. (Gloves arent part of the law; some shoppers wore them). Shoppers gave others space in this tight shop. Huge variety. Fresh fruits, vegetables (only in Asian markets), butcher, seafood and hot prepared foods. Freezer section. Organized by cuisine groupings ex: Thai, Chinese, Japanese etc.. numerous varieties of frozen dumplings. Sweets and snacks. Rice in small and vary large quantities. Robust housewares section from toothpicks to woks. Example of variety: perhaps a dozen brands of sesame oil. Choices can be overwhelming. Dont expect much help. If you need to find something, find a clerk and name the item, English isnt guaranterd. This is a place for serious shopping; not a cooking class. Cashiers will be speaking to each other (not you), so pay attention or you will miss the gesture to insert your credit card. They will hand you your bag at the other end on the counter with receipt in bag, so dont wait for it; pay and start walking! Only four stars due to lack of customer service and missing the barrels of dried foods found in Chinatown; but for a shop almost 3 hours from NYC, this covers most any basic Asian cooking need. Save the trip to NYC until after you check this place out first.

Always stopping in for the Chinese herbal remedies near the front counter. Dont get to walk through the store much but if I do I end up spending too much money. I already during checkout theres racks on both sides of snacks and it looks so good cant read whats in them but go by the picture and usually they are pretty good sometimes not so great that when you go back in the next time they have something different they dont ever keep the same things all the time

I love to come here to stock up on snacks. Hokkaido cream bread buns are my go to.Theyve got great prices and selection for frozen snacks and meals as well! Never did I expect to find frozen takoyaki but I did (and I absolutely bought it).Curry roux, spices, veggies, you can find it all here. Stop in and expand your palette! My only crevat is that it isnt the cleanest store, but its by no means disgusting. You just may find things spilled on the floor sometimes, just watch your step.In all its the best Asian market in the Capital Region in my humble opinion, and a very worth while trip!

Don’t be fooled by the small building footprint—they manage to cram an obscene amount of groceries in here. Good deals to be had on fresh seafood and big jugs of Asian staples like peanut oil, rice wine vinegar, fish sauce. The noodle wall is overwhelming (in a good way). Produce is generally fresh and reasonably priced. Knocking a star because the seafood and meat departments could be cleaner and because the live frogs make me wanna pull an Elliot from E.T. and set them free outside.

During a recent trip to Albany I was introduced to this market. Their selection is overwhelming - and they had eveything I looked for including favorite candies I havent enjoyed since the 80s, such as White Rabbit, still sold in the same iconic packaging. They have fair prices too and I scored some delicious kimchee for under five bucks which would have been more than double that at my local market. Their beverage aisles are a sight to behold. Any drink you may have happened upon at a late night deli stop was right there. Products representing the entire Asian continent and beyond were stocked in generous numbers. They take COVID protocols as seriously as any business and youre encouraged to wear gloves as well as masks inside. Highly recommended.

I was impressed with the noodle and instant ramen aisle they had. I actually came here because I was looking for particular instant noodles, Samyang. They are double the price on Amazon and I was happy to find them here. Premium instant noodles are awesome. One star less because the seafood section is right next to the noodles aisle, freaking pungent man

I visited Asian Supermarket last weekend. Even though with the 1.65M COVID-19 positive cases in New York State, they no longer controlled the number of people inside the tiny space. No temperature check, either. It was IMPOSSIBLE to keep 6 feet social distance at all. Neither as in check out line. They have limited space without fresh air but allowed as many as customers to get in. I would rather choose another place of shopping, which is safer, limits the number of visitors and allows everyone to keep social distancing.

If you are looking for authentic Asian fare, this very large square footage market is sure to have what you are looking for and then some.My only 2 concerns were the workers there arent very concerned about being helpful, its like they are in a rush to get by you so as not to stop...could just be a language quirk maybe, I certainly dont speak Asian in any form! I can point at a picture and hope I got it right. 2nd is they are a little pricey, but when you have the demand I guess you can charge for the supply. It was my first time here so go and make your own judgments! The lighting is very good, and overall it is also clean, items are fresh and surprisingly the fresh fish did not smell. Fresh fish, all kinds! I saw a tub full of frogs, I felt bad for them because I have a frog in my fish tank, a big boy!So go check out Asian Market I suggest bringing one or two of your Asian friends to make you look like you know what youre doing, I am & yes they are laughing because I say I didnt need help to buy my food...but I see I do. Have fun!

Im giving 4 stars because they regularly have fresh and quality produce at a good price. Apparently youtube gets more respect than paying customers.

The place stinks but sensory adaptation quickly takes over and youll find yourself immersed in a cluttered Asian market where available items seem limitless. Unique produce, fish and meat products along with (what seems to be) every asian spice, sauce or marinade ever concocted. Pretty sure the area to the right of the registers is some weird Asian pharmacy where Im sure theyd got some ground-up root bark powder or ginseng-ginger potion to cure what ails you.Interesting place, nothing really like it on this scale here in the Albany NY area.

Great place to shop, fish is inexpensive and you can buy whole shrimp and whole fish for less than the cost of an american grocery store. Why would you pay someone an extra 4 dollars a pound to throw something out you could use for stock. Vegetables and produce there are really good as well, meat is around average price but they do have selections not available at grocery stores as well that are good for multitude of cuisine. I always get my soy sauce there as well, as well as multiple other items now.

Good place to get authentic Asian items that you dont find in a regular American supermarket. If you dont mind the BUSY, narrower, tighter aisles its all good. Prices are fair, a bit higher compared to getting it in NYC or Boston. If you take into account that both places are halfway points from Albany and time spent traveling, expenses, tolls, gas to both cities...Id say its not bad at all.
