Terrible customer service!!! I saw the doctor in September 2020 for a contact exam, and ordered and paid for a one year supply of contacts the same day. I did not receive the contacts until November 2020. I spent a few months trying to adjust to the new contacts but they were very uncomfortable. When I called the clinic back I was told a new out-of-pocket exam is needed to switch brands back to my old contact brand. Apparently it didnt matter that my prescription is current and I just wanted a different contact type. Absolutely do not recommend. Do yourself a favor and choose a better place to spend your time and money.

The Dr was very good and professional. The actual eyeglass store connected to it is just awful! The customer service is terrible, they are rude, expensive, and 2 separate times messed up our order adding an additional 2 week delay. The woman we dealt with specifically was brash and simply rude; treated my family and I as if we were an inconvenience or as if she was doing us a favor by taking our order. My wife and I ordered 2 pairs of glasses and spent about $800 out of pocket, and we have vision insurance. If the service was great I could accept the price. However, high prices and bad service is to much to take-we won’t be back.

Dr. Marquardt is the first doctor that could explain to me why I was having trouble seeing with my glasses and what needed to be done. I was very pleased with my appointment. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Receptionist advised me just moments ago that she was not wearing mask today - during height of current pandemic - because of “personal choice.” I replied that I would therefore exercise my personal choice to cancel my eye exam appointment for today plus any further business contact with Marquardt Associates. Forever and always.

I dont think Id recommend this optometrist. I arrived for my appointment and was met by a younger man who seemed to know much about what he was doing. We chatted a bit while the exam went on and in that moment, I felt confident in the care that I was being given. This was, of course, up until I was supposed to get my glasses. I came in to pick them up, wore them, and realized that they were the entirely wrong grade. I couldnt see out of them at all. I resorted to wearing my old glasses until I was able to get another appointment. Another....appointment. Surely, if you made a mistake, you should do what you absolutely can to remedy the situation as soon as possible. The best thing would have been to get me in for an adjustment in prescription right away. I had to wait a few days to get back in.On my second appointment, I was seen by an older man who had a somewhat abrasive attitude. He informed me that the previous optometrist wrote the entirely wrong prescription for me and that now, I should have the correct one.A week later, I returned to pick up my new glasses with, obviously, the new grade. This time, the coating on the lenses had a manufacturer defect and, while they may have been the correct prescription, I was still unable to wear them.I return a week later for the glasses where I was informed that they were fixed and I was able to wear those with somewhat discomfort. Even then, it didnt seem like the correct prescription but, at that point, I was exhausted and was unwilling to return for another go-around.Needless to say, I will not be a returning customer.

Even Doctor Marquardt is wonderful, I am giving his clinic only two stars because the old woman with short dark hair, in the optic is so arrogant, bossy and unpleasant.

Dr. Marquardt it absolutely amazing! I recommend him as a family or personal eye doctor! His staff are super friendly and ready to help you! They really do care for there patients and wants them to see there best! I was so pleased with how Dr. Marquartd took his time with my eye exam to make sure he was making me see clearly!

Compliments of cancer left me almost blind. Dr. Marquardt’s up to date knowledge of current procedures and his years of experience helped me when no one else could. The procedures he did improved the condition of my eyes tremendously. After a few treatments, my eyes do not itch, hurt, burn or feel so irritated as before. They were severely dry and constantly interfered with everyday life. He fitted me with special contact lenses which work very well. Dr. Marquardt is professional yet personal. He listened to me, answered all my questions and took the time to explain things in a way I could understand. In addition, these days where customer service is no longer a priority, his staff is great. They know what they are doing, they work for you. They are so professional and polite, they give you the attention you deserve. I would highly recommend Marquardt Eye Associates to anyone. I left Dr. Marquardt and his staff skipping out of the office with tears of happiness shouting to the world “I can see” because of what they did for me.

Called for an eye exam. Asked when the soonest I could get seen. Without skipping a beat in a semi rude tone the lady said IN MARCH. I aint waiting til March. Seemed like she didnt wanna do her job. Went elsewhere for glasses. Tess seems like a rude lady anyway. Wouldnt want her helping me to be honest.

Wait time was not bad. State of the art equipment. Staff was very competent. Large selection of fashionable frames to choose from.

Helpful staff, but when I tried to schedule an appointment, they first available spot was until the 21st. My referral was to be expired by the 10 and I was going to move out of state. Not sure why it takes over 3 weeks to get an appointment here. Im from NYC, and I can see why it could take weeks to get an appointment there, but here... really.

Honestly love marquart eye associates, theyre always so nice when I go in, Ive been to a couple different eye places in town and was never treated nicely until I came here. I will always continue coming here. The dr takes his time during the exam, theres no rushing he makes sure you get that attention you need for your eyes. Everyone working with him also is very nice, even helped me decide on glasses for myself.

My husband had gone here for years. Last week, he went for his usual exam and to order his contact lenses. At the beginning of the visit they told him our insurance would cover everything. Then at the end, it was he owed over $200 for the eye exam. Okay, sure we will pay that. Then he said he wanted his contact lense prescription. They said that would cost an additional $200 for another eye exam! Lying to my husband and taking advantage of someone who has to have contact lenses to see!! This office is outrageously priced! He had been a loyal customer for many years! Not anymore! Would never recommend this office.

The glasses I bought only several months ago... lens were falling off, so I called after few days and they told me Well call you back to schedule an appointment. No answer from them after a week So I left many messages Please call me back. they said they will call me back, but they never did. Because I needed to have an appointment in order to ask my employer for a day off and for that reason, I never took care of this problem. I was having double vision and headaches because lens keep falling off. Yesterday, I had to spend more money in a different optic and on travelling to Santa Fe from Alamogordo.

I wasn’t a fan of the service. The employees were very disgruntled and the Dr. didn’t explain anything. My son end up needing glasses but the reason was “He can see, but he can see better with them.” The staff wasn’t very gentle with my 5 year old as the lady held his head and forced dilation drops in his eye without explaining what was happening.

On my first appointment last year, I was not sure if I wanted to go back, for various reasons mostly relating to the doctor not really listening to me. With my annual appointment coming up at the end of the month, I was called a couple days ago and told theyd had a cancellation, and if I was interested I could get in that day. I decided not to, as I would have had to rush too much to get over there.Today I received a call, saying my VSP benefits wouldnt be active until three days after my scheduled appointment. Seems kind of silly they would have scheduled me in before my benefits were active, since they knew last year when the cycle would be. She told me the soonest they could get me in, after the active date, would be another 3+ week wait. I told her to go ahead and keep the existing appointment. She explained again that my benefits wouldnt be active then (Im not stupid, and not hard of hearing), so when she was done I told her that the option was I could just pay for the exam myself (VSP really doesnt pay all that much). When I told her that, she said in a real doubtful tone, Are you _really_ sure you want to do that. So I said no, cancel the appointment and Ill find another optometrist.

Most accurate and detailed eye examination I ever received in this town. Also, they stand behind their promise that they want you to love your new eyeglasses. Very happy with service.

I had a great experience with the staff. Cant wait to get my glasses. Will say they are very steep on their pricing. 277 for frames! They didnt carry the frames I was really wanting but still got a nice one. Would go back again if prices werent so crazy high.

If I could give 0 stars at this point I would. I’m so disgusted by the lack of customer care that this establishment shows. My three year old was told almost a week ago that she needed glasses. The dr was very aggressive in saying she needed them Immediately. Unfortunately when I took her prescription to have them filled the script was not put in correctly. It’s almost been a week and the dr has still not fixed this issue even tho myself and the glasses establishment have been calling daily.This doesn’t even account that it took them over two hours for our last appointment. And that’s two hours sitting in the waiting room with all my kids because they over booked. However this was the day they booked us after canceling us two and half months prior and not being able to see us at our original appt.I would never recommend this establishment to anyone ever again.

I went there because while traveling I had lost my contact (RGP) at the bottom of a bag and did not find it until the AM. They happily looked it over for me to make sure it was still safe to put in my eye and charged me nothing. Great folks!

After going to Marquardt Eye Associates for practically my whole life, within the past year I have had many terrible experiences with Dr. Marquardt. Most recently, I went to his office multiple times within about a month to have no help and when I required medication to be refilled, I never got a call back or a refill. Sadly, I will not return to the office and will find a better optometrist.

The staff here is awesome! Very friendly people. Dr. Peterson actually took the time to show me the images of the front and back of my eyes and explain to me what everything meant in detail. At the end of my exam, I chose not to buy a new pair of glasses that day and I wasnt pressured or pushed to buy in any way. I didnt look at the frames so Im not sure what their prices are like, but for the people complaining, name brand frames are expensive wherever you go! 10/10, I will be coming back here every year.

Dr. Marquardt is the best eye doctor Ive ever been to. He is so thorough and lets you know exactly whats going on. He will make sure you dont have any questions when you walk out the door. He showed me a picture of my right eye and compared it to the left so that I could see the difference and understand what a cataract is and how it covered my eye. He explained how surgery would be performed and really made me feel at ease and to find out they did the surgery in Ruidoso was really great news. His staff is so polite and professional and every person in there know their jobs so well. They all work together like family which makes me feel like family.

I visited his office with a pair of vintage eye glass frames from approximately the mid 1800s. They were able to have a special set of lenses cut to fit even those old glasses and now I have a one of a kind pair of sunglasses you will not find anywhere else. Thank you!

Dr Marquardt and his associates are all extremely professional and helpful, we will definitely be returning. All around it was a lovely experience!

Very polite and helpful with fittings and check ups but when I come in I know I’m going to spend at least 2 hours.

I took my sunglasses in after a lens shattered to have them switched out with new lenses. Karen tried very hard to switch them out, but just wasnt able to. (Not her fault--the glasses were rather difficult.) Nonetheless, I appreciated her kindness and willingness to try for me.

Thorough examination, great selection of glasses, superb recommendations regarding the glasses I needed and everything about my eye health was explained. Can truly recommend for all eye care needs

We are new to the area looking for an eye doctor, from reading other reviews thought we try... didnt think to have been greeted by a rude front desk not wanting to help guess I will have to try somewhere else

I agree with the last post. $207 for the new patient apt $60 for a contact lens treatment, $87 for a Medical Contact Lens evaluation then they tried to get us to spend $385 for a year supply of a basic contact lens.When I was at my last eye doc before this move, we paid $35 over the covered annual exam then $45 for Optimapping instead of dialation.This office is astronomically high and quite proud of it when I questioned it. Will not return! It is cheaper to pay out of network fees with another provider than to pay the In Network fees with these people, or even better drive to Cruces or El Paso for an afternoon. Even with gas prices I still win!I am amazed they are still in business. I

This place obviously takes lots of insurance and jacks the prices of frames and lenses so that no mater how much your insurance pays, they still make a HUGE profit.
