The people who work here are very nice but this storage unit is the worst. We’ve been here all of six times. Three of those six times the elevator door jammed preventing us from moving our things. One time it was in the evening when there was no one to help us unjam it and we were racing a moving deadline. The whole thing delayed our move by a day which was a really big deal for various reasons. Management, swearing it was human error gave us $20 off for the inconvenience. This final time we’re moving our stuff out because they hiked up our rates with only five days notice and the elevator jams again. We just managed to catch the manager who had to use a crow bar to get our stuff out. He said they just had a company out to fix it that week. Clearly not human error. If your storage unit elevator is stuck 50% of the times you’re trying to get into it then my assessment is that it’s not worth the money.

It’s taken me awhile to get around to leaving this review but better late than never, right? The manager Oliver and his staff treated me with the utmost respect and kindness when I rented a unit for my move. I was under the gun to get my stuff out of our old apartment quickly but our new apartment wasn’t ready yet. I only needed to store for one month. I appreciated that the staff didn’t try to pressure me into storing longer. What they did do was make sure I had everything I needed to make my move trouble free, from boxes and packing material to tape and a very secure storage lock. One stop shopping! I will def use Extra Space again for my next move! Thanks Oliver and staff!

Rena went over and out of her way to help us in any way that she could to make the experience as easy and trouble-free as possible.When customer service seems to be a thing of the past these days, Rena was kind, gracious and efficient. As time was of the essence because as I arrived at the Extra Space Storage facility nearing closing time, she made sure we were able to complete the paperwork and get the signatures signed and sealed! Rena is an Outstanding customer rep. who knows her product and knows how to provide options to the customer. Awesome customer service. Its so rare to come across a customer service rep that shows empathy or compassion for their customers but Oliver is an exception to this. I am beyond grateful for the help and information he provided me with over the course of several phone calls. Oliver, youre the man!

I cant say Id normally go to a storage facility expecting much service, but Oliver really went above and beyond helping me make a decision on a unit. I wish I could get this kind help at other businesses. Its especially nice to see him and the other staff wearing masks and maintaining cleanliness while in the middle of a pandemic.

Oliver was very informative and helpful with the rental process (wed never done it before).Options for gated access as well as drive-up 24 hour access.Manager lives onsite; nice unisex bathroom. Area feels safe and is clean.Lots of options for storage, reasonable pricing.

This place is the gem of Alameda,CA. They are flexible and responde to all the requests promptly. Everybody is nice. It especially the manager there is awesome taking care of our unit personally. The units are very well maintained.

Oliver an Alex helped me out they were so great they even became exterminators over night and took care of the wasps nest I had they were like super hero’s in the time that I needed them like Spider-Man and antman

Never had a company call to check on me so quickly, it was on regards to check if I was okay with the second floor no elevator(even though it stated this on the form but easily missed when in a rush) this was great customer service.Place is very clean and easily accessible.

Alameda Extra Space Storage on Clement is a great storage place. The facility is secure, impeccably clean and well-lit, very easy to access, and there are dollies in every section for you to use, making things much easier to load and unload.The staff currently working at this location is excellent. They are very kind and accommodating and help their customers. I feel like they really care about anyone they do business with.Reyna, Oliver, and Alex made my experience wonderful and I am so grateful for them. I feel like Alex’s leadership and great service skills track to the people he oversees. They all deserve a big raise! Thank you so much : )

Oliver explained the process over the phone along with fees before coming in. We came in, had a great tour. He gave us different options and let us see them. He showed us each vital part of the storage area, such as the lift, stairs, easy access, etc. Ge walked us through the proceed with confidence and ease. They also take COVID precautions here very seriously! It smells so good in their office, keep distance and sanitize everything in front of you before you touch it. We are very happy with our rental. I feel all our items will be safe. Make sure to check the rates online!!!! So much cheaper!!

This is the most amazing storage facility. Everyone who works there, like Elisa and Julian, go beyond in customer satisfaction, than any other company. They have been so helpful and wonderful !!! They politely call me to let me know if I might be late, and they were very patient and empathetic to my situation when I was ill. They actually cared. The facility is also extremely secure and exceptionally clean .

The facility is kept clean & is managed very well. The staff are all helpful & friendly. The cost seems a bit high to me. $145 a month for a 5x8 unit! Ouch

Yes, it was quite easy to sign up. Got the lock the next day and started moving bins and items from the garage the next day! A very convenient location. I pass by on my way to the boat several times a week. 8 x 8 is quite ample!

Today I rented a storage space from Extra Storage in Alameda and found the place nice and clean compared to other storage companies I visited. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Both the gentleman (sorry I forgot his name) and Tasha were very professional and quickly identified what size I would need. Everything was seamless except when I decided to rent a smaller unit, after all the paperwork had been completed. I thought what a complete hassle this would be for Tasha, however she didn’t bat an eyelash and quickly made the change. She gave me an even better unit than the original. I strongly recommend using this location.

The term refreshing does not begin to describe my experience with this store. I have worked the customer service industry for years and lived by a code I so rarely encounter nowadays. Treat others with kindness, honesty, and respect. This is my way. In these last few years dealing with people while Im out and about, so few have taken that to heart better than Mr. Alex Carrel.What was supposed to be a simple inquiry of the site and its pricing turned into a worth while exchange that both answered the questions I asked and even some that I had no idea I should have even mentioned. I visited other sites of Extra Space before and only a handful even come close to the warm and friendly atmosphere offered by this one.Mr. Carrel has proved quite patient and understanding when dealing with others and even the manager proved to be quite a treat to deal with. I take the time to write and recommend so few places to others online, but this one is an exception. If you are expecting a run of the mill box checking slog Ill tell you now you wont find it here. However, if your looking for a generally helpful staff with reasonable pricing, I can not offer more praise than this store.

The front seat clerk didn’t look very exited about me arriving last minute but we talked it out and the it was a very please t experience, it was smooth and easy. And got my first month free. Needed some space for a couple of months while the kitchen was worked on, and they provided it promptly. The only issue I had is once when I came by to make a payment there was nobody in the office and it was locked even though it was during their office hours.

I thought that it was great and convenient you can sign up online and receive the code immediately after registering and completing renting online, bc I wanted to start my move off hours.. however, I did it on a Sunday afternoon and didn’t start transporting my stuff until the evening after office closed. My gate code didn’t work and I tried calling the emergency line to get an access code in case my personal didn’t work, but still it wouldn’t allow me in. I realized this Monday morning after I got my signed contract back.... I guess u have to wait for the company signature back on the contract before gate access code works. So it was justinconvenient and a waste of time and energy going Sunday evening. However, front desk staff was extremely helpful with the elevator when it was jammed as well as helping me with my lock the next day. Overall good customer service and I wasnt as mad that day actually moved my first load of storage. Just don’t register online on a Sunday evening thinking you’ll be able to access your storage unit even though you’ve received access code in email and 10pm is the storage hours- unless they’ve signed and returned your contract back.

Im not a customer...yet but Im a truck driver and I drive all over the place. So I always notice extra space storage. I think its the colors that scream at you. The green letters really stand out. So just wanted to say if i ever i ever need a storage this place will be the first place I call.

I recently decided to move to a larger unit and Tasha was a fantastic guide through a process that can become overwhelming if you let it. Well, she did not let it! She was patient, insightful, professional and found just the right unit to fit my needs. I moved without issue, and feel calm knowing Tasha and the entire team there are in charge of keeping my belongings safe. I think the new paint job on the lot looks great too-- well done! There are two major advantages to using Extra Space. The first is their people. We initially worked with Tasha (who is great btw), but everyone weve talked to there has been really nice and really helpful. They are happy to explain everything and help you with whatever you need. The second is that this is BY FAR the cleanest storage facility Ive ever seen. I highly recommend Extra Space. Good people. Good facility.

I had the best experience at Alameda Extra Space Storage! I needed a small unit very quickly and called Alameda Extra Space Storage and spoke with Tasha- she was super helpful and tried to get an idea of how much I needed to store, assuring me that she would help me get the best deal possible. When I came in the next day, with two car loads full of things ready to store then and there, I spoke with Oliver, who was super friendly, kind and ready to help. He determined how much space I would need and did some research into unit options to make sure I was able to get what I needed for the price I needed. I was in and out of there in a half an hour flat- with filing paperwork and unloading my things. Oliver was such a help and was just a super nice person to work with! I would highly recommend Alameda Extra Space Storage!
