Store was surprisingly empty of goods this close to Halloween. Maybe it is a reflection of the pandemic but I did find the online store to be fine.
I just had the worst experience I think I’ve ever had in customer service and I’m pulled over in my car with my three year old who is crying over it. Your Sunday morning staff is toxic.
I like their among us costumes they are pretty sussy if you ask me 😳😳

I waited like 20mins in line when no one was in line before I got helped and then I had to get my item myself from the very top shelf cuz no one wanted to get a latter or help in anyway.
They can never keep items in stock, customer service is atrocious, the amount of time it takes to get balloons blown up (when there’s nothing going on) is horrendous considering that’s one of the main reasons for going in, and it’s never as easy or as simple as it could be.
Woefully understaffed at a busy time of year, great staff and fun selection, but choose your checkout times carefully.
They didnt have our theme but thats not a big surprise as they carry birthday themes according to whats new in the movies or trending cartoons and what not. It would be nice to have a vintage theme section for those kids that actually still like Garfield or Spongebob or whatevers still on the air or even at times not but kids and adults still like but just arent the most popular. I mean popular isnt always preferred. They also unfortunately were out of the balloon my son chose for his birthday balloon but the second choice was a nice one. They also inflated a special birthday balloon I ordered elsewhere. That was important to me because I was refused that service elsewhere because of Covid even though the balloon was in the original packaging and not tampered with. So thank you Party City staff we appreciate your service.
Low stock made it difficult to enjoy shopping.

Simone is Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (How many exclamation marks can I use without taking up my whole review).She took the time to go over my balloon arrangement until I was completely satisfied.She had to deal with other customers at the time she was helping me but never came back in a rush or any frustrations. She was all in it.She expressed this is what she loves to do…. party plan and make beautiful decorations for parties.You could tell that she meant it by the way she helped me.If anyone ever goes to Party City Alameda please connect with SIMONE!!! I mean a party is a special event for you and your loved ones. To have someone maintain the spirit of that party is exactly what you need.She could tell I was nervous about making it perfect and she wanted to relieve as much of that nervousness as possible.She presented me with other options like weights I could use, how I could place the balloons on the table as center pieces, how I could balance my balloon bouquet with satin balloons, how larger balloons may not fit entirely in the car but if I did decide to get them how they can be placed at the end and blown up at the event.She suggested mylar balloons to stand out with the bouquet… I mean so many different things without the feel of the upsell, just ideas I could use to make it great.I can not sing enough praises about Simone… she was everything!!!I told her she will be there for my wedding :-D!!Thank you girly!! I cannot wait to work with you again!
When I went in, the line was a mile long and only one cashier. They totes need more staff.
A clean and open Party City thats the opposite of stressful. This store is much more modern then others in the area and will lead to a great shopping experience for whoever you are helping throw a party for.
Great place to get your party gear. Customer service could be a tad bit more professional, but overall no big complaints.
On the 15th, they were low on Halloween lights. One of the lights I was looking at was $10 cheaper at Target.I was surprised they only have part of one aisle given to haunting stuff.

Great selection of all kinds of things for parties. I want to give it another star, but its a minefield of prices.for example you can get a set of 10 plates for $6, whereas in Target you can get 60 plates for $3. So you have to be careful.however if you need to just get in there and get everything you need for a party you will do just fine here. Good location with plenty of parking.

I called to see if this particular item was in stock, the staff kept me on the phone for over 10 minutes. I decided to drive to the location to see for myself, I somehow approached the same lady who kept me waiting and she responded oh we dont have it at this location, thats why I didnt tell you over the phone.
Good location, smaller store. Staff friendly but the one with whom I interacted unhelpful. I asked when the Day of the Dead items would be available. And he said Thats seasonal. Yes, I realer that, so when does it become available? Around when the Halloween stuff does. Ok, so when is that? I dont know, I started here at Halloween and it was already here. Might I speak with someone who has better knowledge? Its seasonal. A somewhat acceptable answer, but not really. Sorry. How cow.

Been there multiple times. Slow, out of stock of a lot of items, not enough cashiers... But they have all the standard stuff like colorful aisles.
Seems like a pretty well-stocked Party Store. Im not sure Alameda needs another party store, but this one is a nice one. I was especially impressed with the kids themed birthday area. Just about every possible kids theme.
So nice again to have a party store in Alameda. This one is better than the previous party store. Bigger in size, better location and plenty of free parking with other stores and restaurants. There are a few major banks located here plus the post office!
Please check out party city! I did and had a great flash back of when I use to go there to shop for themed partys with my two sons. I even recommended to a lady that was looking for a cheap Halloween wig, to go to party city in Alameda!
You can find whatever youre looking for no doubt.
We always find great deals to entertain in party city, and every trip is worthwhile. this place has a great staff.

Worst customer service/experience ever. Unfortunately I dont have any other options. They run out of very basic balloons and even when the queue is long no one ever comes to help ring oeiole up or blow up balloons

Had an unreal experience today at this location. I shopped with my son. Walked up to the counter and was told by cashier I had to wait because she had started ringing up a customer who went back for something. I said, no problem. The customer returned (talking on the phone the entire time btw). I waited patiently only to be told that the woman behind me was next. I turned around to see a customer who had appeared out of nowhere. So I ask how can that be? She said she could ring me up if it was okay with the lady who proceeded to walk up to the counter and past me to get rung up. I was flabbergasted, so I explained to my son that we were leaving because mommy doesnt spend money at retailers that show such little regard for customers. When I got to my car I phoned the store and asked to speak to a manager. Turns out the cashier is the manager. I explained my POV. I told her if the woman got out of line, then she should not have her spot saved. She said the womans cart was already in line and I should have waited behind it! In other words, I should have known the unmanned cart belonged to a customer so it was my fault for getting skipped. She offered no apologies, only excuses. Rude. She needs better management training.

A true savor for any party or gathering your throwing. I thought i couldnt find a place that would have everything in one place for a mom. I must say with a child whos decision on what he likes changes like the weather. Thank god for this place i can have a little of all his favorite characters for is up coming birthday.
Well I use Party City because they have stuff that I use in a not so traditional way theyre supposed to be used I go there to buy certain types of mylar which I use in my fiberglass applications for hobby rocket tubes. Other than that party City has just about everything that I can think of for my applications that I use not too expensive and its good.

Customer service is horrible. Its a nice clean store but takes you 30 to 40 minutes just to get a balloon! The line is horrible and only one cashier open while you see employees just walking around!

Store is messy, dirty, unorganized. Associates are lazy, rude and have ZERO customer service training. Surprised this store has so many good reviews. Lines are always long due to employees talking and taking breaks when they arent supposed to. Managers know less than employees do.

It is excellent 👌 for parties🤡🥳 you find everything you want is very clean well organized the people who serve you are friendly so I do not need to go to another store but soon it will be my daughters 16th birthday and I buy everything there so I stay satisfied I recommend them
