Much better than the other thrift stores. Friendly employees, at times great selections if you are fortunate to be there. Overall a clean well organized store. Not happy that it’s Tuesday only for our discounts
Fairly large store split into two stores:The Outlet is to the left, in which items are in very large bins and slightly chaotic//overwhelming but items are charged collectively BY THE POUND! Only place Ive ever seen do this! The other side has items individually priced, things on display and clothing hung on racks as youd see in basically every other Goodwill store!Excellent cashiers//customer service within the establishment, super friendly & helpful.
Very big! Separates by size! Prices fair. Lines go fast. Lots of dresses! Best Goodwill I been too
Just like With Halloween, It looks like Christmas will be scarce..Very little to chose.Possable folks are selling their Holliday goods instead of donating.Given the ridiculous prices Goodwill and other thrift stores are asking. Its sad when a pair of jeans are only dollars in difference.Yet used.I feel that these stores will go out of business soon due to greedyness on the Corp side.
This is by far one of the biggest & best Goodwill stores. Every time I am in the area visiting my mother, we take a morning or afternoon to find great things. Not over-priced like some Goodwill stores have become. And its always clean and neat and organized. Love this store!!!
I really like this place. Nice items at affordable prices too.
Friendly staff, the place is great if youre looking for somewhere to waste your life away I mean lose track of time with all the cool and useful stuff here.
Its funny when kids think they are getting toys Everytime we go here... They have a lot of good toys for a cheap price. pretty good on the clothes front. If you are looking for a good book for you or your kids you can probably find one here.If you need a bunch of rags to fill up your heavy bag just go next door and get them at the by the pound bulk section.
I enjoy going there to shop and the employees are nice. Its always good to get a cart of stuff. The regular store not so much.Ill be lucky if I find 2 or 3 items and prices are high. Pretty lucky we have the outlets in our area . I like to go once or twice a week
I always find great deals when I shop here and everyone is friendly and helpful. Love this store.
One of the last Outlets open around that I know of and its always been my favorite! Theyre practicing sanitization and safe distancing wonderfully at this location. Love love love it!
They like to switch their hours up. If you live far away there is no way to know unless you call the day before to see what their hour changes are. This year has had several hours changes. Love coming here but I wish you guys would be more consistent with your hours. I want to know that if I take an hour of my time to shop with you that I wont have to guess if I wasted my time driving out.
It is rated for what it is, a bin store. When shopping a bin store bring something to carry your treasures home. I dropped one of mine after searching for it and paying for it.Floor was clean and free of debris. Social distancing and masking in place. Quiet for a bin store. Yes there were other shoppers but it was just very quiet.I found some treasures to use for my Thanksgiving centerpiece. There was the cutest squirrel salt n pepper set. The pepper shaker was shaped like an acorn. Thats what i dropped. I found some fall placemats from sonoma life n style all 4 in brand new Condition.
Almost always find something fun and interesting here.
We just love going to the goodwill you never know what beautiful stuff is down the next row could have a treasure trove .
ReAlly nice fast employees, no understaffing and always sticking to the schedule of when they bring out fresh items and clothing. WAY better than the one in canton where they do not care about the customers AT ALL.
I love the Akron Goodwill bins store and regular store, but the prices of media items such as vinyl records and DVDs are $2.50 apiece! That is really high! At the Goodwill location in my town, CDs, vinyl records, and DVDs are only $0.99 each!
Good store. I just went to browse around. They do NOT allow the 25% discount on Tuesdays for first responders (is on the goodwill website).
Terrible location, requires documentation to shop there if you have medical condition. Havent been kicked out of anywhere in a long time for my inability to wear a mask (as most are educated on the law) Ntm I was treated rudely by the employee and manager made no attempt to resolve the situation. Not worth putting myself at risk to buy $5 in used junk. Just paid 10x the price for an item I wanted rather than give anymore money to this company.
If I could live there I would! 😎Staff is wonderfully friendly and always super helpful. They ALWAYS make sure to sanitize the carts immediately after every single use. Everything stays orderly and the restock, hours, and whatever else is to be done for the outlet is always done by the book, you know exactly what to expect everytime you go in... All except what treasures youll find that day 😊 The Goodwill Retail side ALWAYS stays clean as well, always sanitized and put together and stays neat.Beware!!After going in the very first time, you will be hooked lol! Goodwill will then become a regular part of your life 😛 It is an enjoyable way to spend your day finding all kinds of treasures and talking with wonderful people. Everyone who shops there has always been very kind and enjoyable. You can easily strike up a conversation or have pleasant small talk with whomever is next to you looking through the bins. You may just meet your next new best friend!!! Anything could happen 🤣😎😛Enjoy!
A1 good place to visit good prices will shop there again!
I snagged more gems here today than I have at a goodwill in 3 years. Clean, well organized and helpful, kind staff.
Was able to get me some summer cloths I can afford.
I love it. And its an outlet. Which is basically they have bins of stuff and you buy whaever it is by the pound. It can be great.
Just love love love this place its my budget the quality is good oh my goodness I could go on and on but if youre trying to save and look good all at the same time this is your spot promise you
Good place to shop new stuff daily
This is the only Goodwill I go to. I always find cute shirts and tank tops for $2.50. Definitely a good place to find some cheap clothing
My Wife an I went this afternoon and did some l shopping went to check out a lot Of confusion the bill was 34 dollars an I had 12 bucks credit card machines were down the cashier was a little testy an said we got 1 hour to get our things or theyll put them back ! My wife went back to pay for items An had to check out again different price? less than 15 minutes later ! Same testy cashier!
If I could give it zero stars I would. I thrift as a hobby all over the country, and theres plenty of other dirty, disorganized, over priced stores I would return to before submitting myself to this circus ever again. Just do yourself a favor and go to one of the many other local thrift spots. Avoid the headache, harassment, and dehumanizing treatment of this place.
Always an adventure and you never know what cool and sometimes rare tresures youll find.
Stopped by your store today, but wasn’t allowed to shop due to my daughter & I not wearing masks. I stated we both have a medical condition, so we are exempt from the governors mandate. I was told we could not shop regardless. At no time did she state you have special shopping hours for those not able to wear a mask, even though it was posted on the door. We couldn’t shop those hours anyhow. I asked the woman for a statement in writing that we weren’t allowed to shop, due to no masks, so I could report your store for violation of the ADA. I also stated that it is pretty ironic that a business that employs & gives opportunities to disabled individuals would discriminate against medically disabled individuals who would like to shop there. When I asked to speak to a manager, then I asked if she was a manager, she walked away saying she was done dealing with me & was going to get security. At that point, we walked out. I never once raised my voice with her, & I was very respectful asking her these questions. Also, I shopped in this very store, maskless, 3 weeks ago, & no one said a word to me. Once this mask mandate is lifted, I can absolutely guarantee I will NEVER spend another penny at your store, nor donate any goods like I frequently used to. I will also let all my friends & family know about your discriminatory store policy!
Only 4 stars because of odd occurrences. Otherwise, good place to get things cheap
Online is just a scam. You cant even place a bid and the same person is biding up everything. SCAM
Do not like the new set up in the store. One side is normal side to shop the other is bulk dividing the 2 sides are a central stand with registers for each side. If you buy something on either side, you have to take the items to the car and then come back in to shop other side. I hate that. I am disabled and it is too hard to go back and fort so much. The hug bins on the bulk side get messy quick and the other people are rude. Pushy and run into you.
Will not be returning to this location. Poor selection and over priced items on the retail side. Along with terrible customer service and absurd policies at the outlet store. Get it together already before you have zero customers! Drove an hour just to get in a fight with an uneducated employee and leave with nothing.
Good people and items.
Worst thrifting experience of my entire life. The staff was hostile and rude, everything was overpriced, and they really didnt have anything good. I will never waste my time or gas to get here again.
Good selection usually. 1 cash register open with a long line. Another cashier right there. Being masked up and hot I left the stuff I picked.
Rude staff. I didnt know they were getting ready to change the tables and nothing like someone yelling in your face to leave
They held a pair of much needed work boots, until I came back with the cash! Much appreciated!
Good selection of materials. Great cd choices.
I stopped to drop off a truckload of donations. You now have to unpack and sort all your stuff in labeled large cardboard boxes..They do not help what so ever in fact They should be inside processing instead 2 of the men were just standing there. I generally do not donate to Goodwill bevause I think their prices are way too high! There are many resale and thrift stores opening and if they do not restructure their prices they will eventually be closing stores..
Very nice people good place to shop thanks to to goodwill indstris for helping others in a different way on daily passes thanks again
Very clean, friendly and organized!
They have a lot of good clothing in good condition. The place was kept pretty nice and tidy. Only thing was the cashiers didnt listen well and got a couple items priced wrong. Other than that i enjoyed coming here bc the choices were better than some other goodwills
Great selection and service.
Always find something at this location worth making the trip. Friendly staff and nice selection.
It was great. They had lots of great things at greatprices
Very nice and clean place. Has lots of stuff.
Love this place but to let you know that there two parts to this store go to the bin store on the left best $$ for what you want
Fell like there prices arent good for 2nd hand products
Got a lot of good clothes for my granddaughter
Found more books in the outlet section than I ever have in the retail area
Its wonderful.
Helpful and friendly staff at register. I didnt find anything fancy but fun there
Staff was nice. I had read some reviews beforehand to get an idea of what to expect. It was great, I didnt find any money treasures but I had fun. Will go back
One of our favorite places to shop. The employees are all really nice & helpful.
It was good
Great store, great selection of items n friendly staff
Great deals and great products available.
Clean and organized on the outlet side.
I shop there to find something I want. It good quality and friendly people that work there.
We have been to this outlet more than 50 times. The staff is always helpful and sometimes you can score great items, sometimes you cant. That is what picking is all about. If you are a germaphobe, you should go to the mall. After checkout, we wash our hands. The only better outlet is in Columbus.
Large selection and usually decent prices. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the checkouts often have quite a line.
THIS STORE IS SO FUN!The staff I have encountered is always pleasant and ready to help. Yes, you have to dig for the good stuff. Yes, that is the fun part!Prices are unbeatable, I have found crazy good things in this store.
As big as this store is they are requiring people to come in with mask! If you dont wear it you cant go in! No other stores are requiring to wear the mask! That is your choice of wearing it like the Govener and President mentioned! If they are so concerned on there safty then require your employees to wear them like the rest of the stores that I have been!
This place is just okay. The bathroom was disgusting, like for real nasty. And you also can’t just go to the bathroom, you have to wait for a key. The bins left a lot to be desired. In Canton, they bring out new stuff at the top of every hour, replacing a few at a time. This place, not so much. We went twice in one day and some of the same stuff was still there hours apart. It’s a big building and very spacious, and the staff wasn’t overly friendly but was polite-ish.
Since I signed up for there emails I get a %10 discount on there stuff so I bought a ankle length leather womens coat. Good deal but I bought for the leather. To be used for something else. Ya think Goodwill is for charity but its for profit. Owner is wealthy millionaire who pays minimum wage to disabled. Better to shop Salvation Army
This outlet is leagues better than the canton one if only because the shoppers are not trying to cut throat each other. I saw people asking if they needed things when new bins came out instead of hoarding everything in there carts to price it later on there phones. You wont find the best stuff but its not all bad and mostly more chill.
I wish they still had the old store on Arlington. It was one of my favorite stores to go to. Gone are all the electronics, dvds, and cds and furniture.I may not be back if it stays the way it is
One of my favorite Goodwills! Sometimes the staff lacks proper customer service skills, but the selection is great, clean, and up to date as far as styles. The stores always clean as well
Always something new
Not much to choose from
Honestly this store has good items at decent prices, but I can’t get over how their employees talk aloud while customers are in their store. I shouldn’t walk in thirty minutes before close and get looked at as if I’m a bother. You’re open, aren’t you? I don’t control your store hours so talk to your boss about the fact that you close at 9pm and not 8pm like the outlet because that’s not my problem and I don’t really want to stand in line and hear you complain about it. My mother and I have both had problems with employees here on separate occasions sweating us to leave their store near close time when the store wasn’t closed yet. I’m sorry that you feel that your customers who spend their money here are such a big problem that you have to loudly groan as you see a line forming. Get it together, Waterloo Goodwill.Edit 1/2020: I just came to leave the store a review (2 years later) and forgot about this one. I haven’t frequented much because the selection isn’t the best due to either 1. the online store or 2. the boutique. I was going to give you two stars this time because of the cleanliness of the store, but the selection has declined and the prices have risen so I walked out of the store empty handed today after wanting to purchase multiple items but the prices just don’t make sense. You would make a lot more money if you charged less for your items and you would sell more. I left with nothing and watched a lady with multiple kids put back half her cart because she realized they weren’t the half off color. It’s a little ridiculous when people are wondering if they should go to Goodwill or just go to a store like Gabriel Brothers or Roses because your prices are lingering around the same.
Clean and neatly organized
I was at this store on June 20th. I wore a mask, but it was impossible to social distance in the womens clothing aisles. They had employees pulling items and you needed to pass them to even look at the items. This should be done after hours. Especially under these circumstances.
Plenty of good stuff love it
Lazy employees
I had no idea you could but clothes buy the poundGood prices took me awhile to find what I was looking forHectic way of displaying clothes
Found some pretty good deals at this place.
I have to update my review because they changed locations from Arlington rd back to Waterloo rd. I honestly liked Arlington more because the space was bigger and brighter and it seemed to have more inventory and I liked the way they arranged the tables so that they were in the center of the space, that way shoppers can dig through all sides of the tables. The Waterloo rd arrangement has the tables pushed against the walls, which isn’t workable for multiple people digging and it’s hard on your back. It’s hard to complain though because the goodwill outlets in Maryland and other states don’t even have tables, they have enormous cardboard refrigerator-sized boxes full of clothes and somehow you’re supposed to be able to reach into those..no one can, so they just pick off the very top. So I guess how “bad” it is is all relative.People-wise, the ones at this store are a cast of, we’ll just call them “unusual” fringe characters that sort of “live” at the store and spend all day every day there. You start to build a relationship with some and avoid some of the others. My mom likes to go with me and talk to/socialize with some of the disabled, mentally ill, homeless, some addicts, and also elderly people because it helps them to feel normal and like they’re also part of the community. Many of them get dropped off there to spend the day and they really appreciate their time there, it’s fun for them because they can afford to “shop,” and they want to feel included in the world around them. It helps with loneliness.Wear gloves and bring hand sanitizer. It’s annoying with the new covid restrictions having to wait in line outside because there are now limits to people capacity..also having the store close something like every hour for 30 minutes for sanitizing..it’s ridiculous and overreaching. I used to come here as a “day trip” and spend all afternoon or multiple hours but because of the repeated closing for cleaning, it’s impossible.I’ve found and resold some really nice items over the years. An authentic Gucci bag, Cole Haan bags, lots of boutique clothing. My family is really into canning and preserving food. There are lots of nice antique canning jars of varying sizes, lots of glassware and old oil lamps which I like to restore. You have to have the energy to really dig and you don’t need to follow the stampeding crowds to the newest table if you have what I call a good “eye.” Those people are just grabbing things in order to prevent you from getting them, without really “seeing.” Forget them. Don’t forget to bring your own bags for an extra discount.
They recently reorganized the store and now have clothing arranged by size. Very nice change! Prices went up about 50 cents on average though. Very sad change!
Enjoyed thrifting at this goodwill yesterdaynon 8/31/19. I thought the prices were honestly really good. Goodwills on the other end of where I live are 4.99-5.25 for blouses and 6.99 for Jeans. I will return. However only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because where the items are tagged with the colored taggers, many of them leave very small holes, and they are tagged on the bottom of the sleeves. Can you please have your employees tag maybe under the armpit and even inside by the actually clothing tag itself to prevent those small holes from being visible? That would be AWESOME. Other than that, 2 thumbs up!
I lo v e shopping more than the stores or regular goodwill. Although it can be time consuming to look threw the bins. The things u find are amazing and I swear are great buys. I am obsessed with the outlet. And U can save so much money .
You have to really hunt sometimes but you can get some great finds at this pay-by-the pound outlet. They have large bins that are loosely separated into clothes and other. You really do have to dig sometimes and there can be trash sometimes in the same bins as new unopened items. At times it can really be picked over, but if you come at the right times and are there when they bring out new bins it can be great.
Totally disgusting store. Nothing but trash in here. 95% should be thrown away, never seen anything like this.
Walked into the store at approximately 2:35 p.m. today and immediately walked right back out. The smell from the deodorizer (or potpourri or spilled perfume??) was overwhelming.
I worked for Goodwill one year,i met alot of wonderful people, employees, participents, customers,,im glad i had the chance to see something differnt,,,i worked for Northfield, the store is little,,but there is alot of hard work that goes into this place! .
Great place to treasure hunt and pay per pound not per item. The staff is extremely nice & friendly.
The merchandise was just OK compared to the outlet in Pittsburgh. They make everyone leave periodically to change bins and then let you back in to the store.
Stopped in just before closing on 3/29 and glad I did. Great deals and awesome staff. Thanks
All of the workers are very respectful, my first time here the woman showed me all of the deals and explained everything in a great way and I got a nice discount for being a new shopper! Great prices and great deals.
Staff was friendly and i found some super cute clothes! just need to get more shopping carts!
It was extremely hard for me to differentiate between sizes of jeans because of the lack of organization. And when I got to check out counter, one cashier was completely innapropriate with 2 male employees in front of customers and the other cashier was incredibly rude for no reason.
It was as dirty and vacuous as I had anticipated. Weird that I was told that my federal ID wasnt acceptable in order to sign up for a goodwill card... Portage county had no problems accepting it and my hone address. I showed the Goodwill card I have from Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio, Inc. I was given this at the Goodwill in Hartville/Uniontown, OH. (couldnt respond to the owners response to my post, so I just edited mine.) #jesusfixit
Food was wonderful and the staff was very helpful navigating their menu for the first time. Will definitely be back again.
