We visited Staff Music co. Seeking a few pieces of equipment for my sons 1st year of band. The gentleman there was extremely kind, informative, and helpful! He gave us a good deal on our items. They have a wide variety of instruments and very nice selection of electric guitars & basses that ill be returning to check out a little more! Definitely recommend!

Staff Music has been an institution in Akron Ohio for well over 50 years.It was the first music store I ever visited as a kid in the 70s, and I was the proverbial kid in a candy store.Now in the 21st century and almost a half century older myself, Im still that kid in a candy store.Just stopped by and got a great deal on some gear that I needed and saw about 10 more things that I wished I could buy on the spot.If you like to buy music gear from a knowledge, friendly, honest family business with lots of cool stuff at great prices, this is the place to go.And you have to stop by frequently, because you never know what cool finds Dig and Lee have found since your last visit!

Bought a JR drum set for my 4 year old. GREAT PRICE ANF AHHHHMAZING QUALITY. DONT GO ELSEWHERE ! I paid more for a set just 4 days ago that doesnt even compare to the quality of the product they provided!

Went in and was met with a great attitude. I told the guy I was looking to begin learning guitar, and trying to find an acoustic, and he was so accommodating in giving me tips in what to look for. Ended up getting a guitar that I’m loving, and I am far beyond satisfied with my purchase

Went here to have my Kramer electric guitar set up, and some parts swapped out for better parts. They did a really good job on the guitar. First time I went there, I’ll definitely be going back. Dig and his team there do phenomenal work, and I can’t recommend staff music enough!

Dig and Papa Dig are 2 of the best people you will ever know. They have a very fluid inventory as they deal with trade ins and consignments so its a good idea to just stop in and browse. You may find that one hard to find item you have been looking for. I call them whenever I need something that I cant find through internet searches and quite often they have what I want!

Staff Music is a hidden gem. Great selection and unbeatable prices. I’ve bought around $1,000 worth of drum equipment in recent weeks and have been super satisfied with all of it. It would have been much more expensive at a chain store.Dig is incredibly knowledgeable and a very nice guy. If you want something and they don’t have it, he can always order it.I haven’t utilized their consignment services yet, but it’s a great alternative to selling on Craigslist or a similar website.

I have done business at this music store for 30 years. Both Lee and Dig are very knowledgeable and will not steer you wrong on any purchase you make. I highly recommend this music store.

My personal experience with these guys has always been outstanding. I bought an epiphone dot 335 there and they took the time to set up the guitar so that it sounded perfect FREE of charge! They are extremely knowledgeable about guitars and they take the time to answer all your questions and make recommendations without trying to push something on to you just to make a sale. They are kind and courteous and will treat you well. I highly recommend this guitar shop for not only good prices, but also for the one on one salesperson/customer interaction.

Some things are priced a little on the high side. His guitar repair, however, is quite reasonably priced and he does a great job. Two of my guitars have been repaired there and I got them back looking almost new and they play beautifully.

I had been looking for my first acoustic guitar for a while now, as I was practicing on one that my friend lent to me for the summer, so i figured it was time for my first one. When I came into the store the owners were happy to help find me a guitar suitable to what I was looking for. They didnt try to sell me their most expensive guitar like other stores have, but pointed me in the direction of a cheaper, but quality Stadium guitar that Im in love with. Plus the one dude played some cool stuff as he was tuning the guitar, so that was sweet. Overall awesome placed owned by awesome people.

Well.ive known lee and dig for many many years lee played with my uncle bob hobday and golden ring band for many many years hes a really great guitar player and actuly i met dig when i was filling in guitar for the freedome highway band and he knows.a very lot about the music buiseness especily the akron area really a great all around friend the best you cant take that to the bank very good prices on all music equipment if you want entegeraty this is the store for you and ive been in the music sceen for very long time i played in a disco show band called the sunset show band playing on the road holliday inns and lasvegas flamingo hilton also made for tv movie called ohms for cbs tv.then i joined.a state of ohio country and western music associations band of the year several years in a row opening up for and backing many people such as reba.charlie dannials.ricky scaggs.waylon jennings.willie nelson and many others so ive been to many music stores and these guys are the real deal .. thats just my opinion [email protected] check go to utube and put in the harvest gold band youll see several vidios we put there enjoy

Very good service and reasonable prices

Dont listen to the other review of this establishment. My guitar needed a major tune up and he had it finished 2 hours after i dropped it off. The repair prices are pretty much the lowest in town and the caliber of work is great. This business has been family owned for over 3 generations and there is a reason why their still opened. The prices for their guitars for sale looked reasonable. If you need repairs please give local establishments your business and not the big box guitar retailers.

Have dealt with Staff Music quite often for all of mine & my husbands stereo, amps, guitar, & music needs. And will continue shopping here. We simply love it! If they dont have what I need or want, they are happy to order it for me. Now, thats what I call Service! I will & absolutely Do recommend Staff Music to all my family & friends! Thank You!

Digs a great guy and offers low prices on tons of supplies. I dont think Ill ever buy strings, picks, cleaning supplies, etc, from the big box stores or online again, because I can just get them cheaper here and Dig can give me recommendations on stuff Im not sure about.

Guitar selection wasnt too bad.Had some that were nice.Prices reasonable.Things I didnt like: When I wanted to try out a guitar,the owner wanted to tune it for me ( not even accurately) Then he proceeded to play for me for five minutes and tell me his life story.I just wanted the guitar in my hands to see if I liked it.He says that every guitar in the shop was set up professionally,by him.I can tell they were all set up by the same person.Every guitar had a completely straight fingerboard with no neck relief whatsoever and bad fret buzzes.I shied away from buying an Epiphone Les Paul because,not being a guitar technician,I couldnt tell if the fret buzzing could be fixed by a proper setup or if it needed costly work.

The old man that runs it is stuck on the 80. He keeps saying the guitars will shred and the fretboards are lightning quick. As though thats still what people want.... Ehh. Selection is not great and the prices are a tad too much. But Id happily pay the markup to keep places like this around! So long as the products are interesting and start to become more varied. Get out of the rut and take a stab at the current interests.

Do not let this guy setup a guitar for you unless you want to re-do it yourself or have someone else fix it. Took in a guitar for strings and a tune up. Got new strings and thats about it. Tremolo was so far out of whack it took me 2 hours to fix it. Tremolo already had 3 springs on it and for some reason he put 2 more on and charged me 5 bucks apiece for them. I will be paying a return visit but only for a refund. It might be a nice place to buy a first guitar cheap but it isnt someplace to get it fixed. Then again, is it worth taking the chance?

I contacted this guitar shop to sell my guitar on Consignment. He seemed enthusiastic and sent blue book info on the value of my Larivee OM 10E. However when I went to the shop he had a weird attitude that only EPIPHONE guitars (yes EPIPHONE) and a few other old Martins he had in the shop were any good. He badmouthed my Larivee and the top of the line Martins and Taylors saying that his $400 EPIPHONE was as good IF NOT BETTER than the expensive guitars. I never let the guy sell my guitar. He seemed crazy. Maybe he spent to much time alone in the store looking at his EPIPHONES.

Its a old building but the service knowledge and deals are a+ lessons are also available
